Welcome! This FAQ is a walkthrough for Episode 2: The Shores of Hell for Doom.
When we get to the level where we can enter the secret exit, I will guide you
there. If you have any questions or comments, or if I miss something, e-mail me

[email protected]. Once questions are asked, I will build an Asked
Questions section of this FAQ.
Also, this FAQ is protected by copyright. You cannot sell this, put this on
your website without my permission, or any other violation of copyright law.

2. Episode 2 Changes
=====================
3 levels were deleted from Episode 2:
Here are the levels in Episode 2 gone in this version:
E2M2: Containment Area
E2M5: Command Center
E2M7: Spawning Vats
Now, the levels look like this:
E2M1: Deimos Anomaly
E2M2: Refinery
E2M6: Fortress of Mystery
E2M3: Deimos Lab
E2M4: Halls of the Damned
E2M5: Tower of Babel
Now there's another major change. In the PC version, the secret level Fortress
of Mystery was accessed from Command Center. Now that Command Center is gone
from the game, they moved the secret exit to Refinery. In that level, you could
exit to the secret or go to Deimos Lab. I will guide you to Fortress of
Mystery.
Episode 2 can't be accessed from a low skill level:
If you want to play this on "I'm Too Young To Die", forget it. You can't select
it, and finishing Episode 1 on this level brings you to the title screen.
The next easy skill level is "Hey, Not Too Rough". If you want to play Episode
2 on this level, you must first beat Episode 1, and when the writing is done,
press A to advance here.
Any skill level harder than "Hey, Not Too Rough", you can pick episode 2 from
New Game.

3. Episode 2 Walkthrough
==========================
If you don't know your controls, here they are, before you start:
A: Open Doors, flip switches, select stuff from the pause menu
D-Pad: Move
B (held down): Run when moving
*Y: Shoot
*X: Change weapon
L and R: Strafe left or right
Select: Views Automap
Start: Pauses the game
*Cannot shoot or change weapon if Automap is displayed. On the Automap, X and Y
will zoom in and zoom out.

Now here's the walkthrough!
*********************
E2M1: Deimos Anomaly
*********************
You start in a little alcove. Get out, and go right. Kill any Zombiemen there,
and proceed pass the evil red cross. Turn right here, kill the Zombiemen, and
grab the Blue Key. If you were hurt badly, there's a Medikit in here. Go back
to the start, and enter the teleporter. If you were playing on Hey, Not Too
Rough", there will be a Shotgun next to the teleporter. Kill the enemies here,
and on one of the red triangles should be a Shotgun if you were on a harder
skill level. Grab it, kill the Imps, Zombiemen, and Shotgun Guys here, and grab
the Zombiemen and Shotgun Guy's clips and Shotguns for ammo. Cross the lava
pit, and hit the switch on the right. A little lump from the ground will pop
up, and on that, flip the switches on both sides. Next to the teleporter, the
walls should raise. Go behind them to get health and the Red Key, and now go
back where the Blue Key was. Enter the new teleporter, and kill the Shotgun
Guys, the Demon, and the Cacodemon (it won't be there on "Hey, Not Too Rough").
You can avoid them, and when you're at it, look for the Plasma Gun and some
ammo in this room. De-Equip the Plasma Gun for the Pistol or Shotgun. Now get
out and go where we flipped the 2 switches on the lump. Now go and enter the
teleporter. Keep heading straight until you see an alcove to the left. Enter
it, and flip the switch to the left. Go in the new passage and enter its
teleporter. In here is a straight hall with health and armor bonuses. Enter the
teleporter at the other side, and get out of this passage. Hit the other
switch, and kill the Demons, Imps, and Shotgun Guys on the lowering
platform. Use the Plasma Gun if you need to, and enter the Red Door over here.
Kill the Shotgun Guys, grab their ammo, and get the goodies in this room. Get
out, and head straight and enter the Blue Door. Enter the teleporter, and if
you need to, grab the Stimpacks to your right. Kill the Demons in here, and
turn to the alcove here. On "Hey, Not Too Rough", the enemy there will be a
Lost Soul. Harder skill levels have a Cacodemon there, and kill whatever is
there. Get out of the alcove, check this room for a switch, and hit it. Go back
into the alcove, and go up the stairs being raised. Hit the switch at the top,
and go back down. Enter the new teleporter in this room, and walk up to the
wall in front of you. It will lower, and on "Ultra Violence", or "Nightmare",
there will be a Cacodemon there. Kill it if you are on one of those levels, and
then enter the exit door. Kill the Imps, and flip the switch.

E2M2: Refinery
****************
There is a door to your right. Skip it, and go straight. In this room, go left,
and then right, and right again to grab some goodies. Also, there are 2 rooms
to enter here. Enter the one on the left, and follow the passage beyond the
Blue Door. Kill any enemies in your way, and before you enter the room with all
of the moving pillars, check the green walls before the room. Here's the spot

When you do find the secret, go inside, and flip the switch to your right. Take
another right, jump in the slime pit, and cross it to get the Backpack. Get
back, go in the pillar room, and cross the them. At the end are some health
bonuses and a Medikit. Go left to find a slime pit. Jump in it, and go left.
Get into the opening, and turn right. Go in the room across from you, get to
the end, and jump in the lava pit. Hurry and go right where there is ground,
and at the top, grab the Plasma Gun and some ammo. On hard skill levels, there
are Lost Souls there, so watch out. Kill the demons below us, and when you do,
jump down. Look behind the pillar for the Blue Key, and then enter the door.
Turn right, and at the end of the hall, take a left. Go straight, skipping the
first room, into the next one. Kill all the enemies here, and there is an
alcove here. Go in for the Megaarmor. Then, search this room for a secret door.
If you have trouble finding it, here's a map:

Check in between the two "|'s "on the right. The wall should raise, and we will
be in the room before the pillar room. Instead of going back there again, go
straight and follow until you get to the Blue Door. Open it, go in, turn right,
kill the enemies, and when the hallway is clear, go through it. Follow it to
another room, kill the enemies, and grab the goodies. On the NW part of the
room, go into the next room, where you finds a whole bunch of pillars. To make
sure you don't get lost, head right, and when you run into a wall, turn left
and head to the first right. Go right again to you hit a wall, and then left
again until there's an opening.
Go into it, kill the demon to the right, jump in the slime pit, head right,
follow this passage into a bigger room, hop onto the alcove in here, grab the
SoulSphere, enter the exit door, kill the Imps, grab all the ammo, and exit.
Or, if you don't have enough health to do this, just cross the pit, follow the
passage into a hall, kill the Demons, and enter the exit door. Hit the switch
to exit.

E2M6: Fortress of Mystery
**************************
If you didn't take the secret exit, skip this and read the next level.
Equip the Plasma Gun, and then hold down until you hit a wall. If you grab the
Chainsaw, re-equip the Plasma Gun. When the Barons of Hell are on your view,
take your Plasma Gun and fire until every last one dies. When the room is
empty, go into the other alcoves for weapons and powerups. When you're done,
one of the alcoves has a door in it. Enter it, and kill all of the Cacodemons
here. If you run out of Plasma Gun ammo, use the Rocket Launcher you got in the
other room, and use that to kill them, but watch out: if you are in the blast
zone of the rocket, you could get hurt. When you are done, grab the Soulshere
in the middle of the room. From where the door was, go to the other side of the
room, and search the wall. If it opens, hit the switch inside. A door will
open, it get the Blue Key inside. Get out, open the Blue Door for the Red Key.
Get out again, open the Red Door for the Yellow Key. Open the Yellow door and
jump on the exit teleporter.

E2M3: Deimos Lab
*****************
At the beginning, you see a flashing light in front of you. Check to wall to
the right where it's shining, and a door should open. Go inside to get some
goodies, and go back out and take a right into the teleporter. Go straight
until you see an opening to you left, and just run straight until you hit a
wall. Follow this hallway until you have two ways to take: the right or
straight. Go straight, kill the Demons and Imps here, and open the door. Kill
the Baron of Hell or Demon, depending on your skill level, and go in the room.
To the left is an elevator, and hit the switch, hop on, and when you get to the
top, grab the Blue Key, then jump back down and leave. Go straight, take a
right, and then go left. Head straight to the Blue Door, look right, and kill
the Imps before they start to bug you. Now go inside the Blue Door, and follow
the hallway until you see the Yellow Door. Instead, go left, and grab the
Yellow Key and watch out if the crushing ceiling above the key gets you. If
they're there, kill the Shotgun Guys and grab their ammo, and enter the Yellow
Door. Inside, head left, and you'll see stairs. Ignore them, hugging the left
wall until you drop down. Search the walls down hear until a door opens, go in
and get the Plasma Gun. Equip it, go through the teleporter, and blast the
enemies. Go into the alcove, and jump off the ledges, ignoring the switches.
When we're at the bottom, head straight and kill the Cacodemon, and go through
the teleporter. Go right and kill the Demon, and then jump in the lava pit and
go left, get onto the platform, but not the teleporter. Hit the switch, then go
into the teleporter. In here, go straight, and then back into the teleporter we
were on. Head right, walk slowly on the new platform the exit door, but
turn around right when you get there. Another platform has been raised, and use
it to get to a Soulsphere. Now go back to the exit door, open it, kill the
Imps, and then hit the exit switch.

E2M4: Halls of the Damned
***************************
Go straight into this room, and kill the enemies there. Grab the power-ups, and
then open the door here. Kill the Cacodemon on harder skill levels, and flip
the switch on the other side of the room. Go back out, into the alcove we came
out of at the start, and enter the new opening. Grab the ammo here, and get
outside of this room to a wide open one. At the end of here, hit the switch,
get on the platform, and grab the Berserk. Now the platform behind us has
lowered, but jump in the toxic pit, head straight, and then left into a new
opening, and go into the new hallway, grab the health if you need it, hit the
switch at the end, get back out, go left onto the platform. Another new opening
is here, and go through it. There's a Blue Door, and a Normal Door. Go through
the Normal Door, head straight killing the Zombiemen and Shotgun Guys, and then
head left at the end. Then take another left to find the Blue Key. A wall
behind you will open, and kill the Demon there. Now head right and straight
until you see 2 openings that lead into a dark room. In this maze, look around
for goodies, watching out for enemies. When you find a door, enter it, and head
right. When you get out of this hallway, head left until you see an alcove to
the left. Go to it, and go left in here to get the Red Key. Now work your way
out of the maze, and when you do, head left, where there are 3 doors. Enter the
middle one, and kill all of the enemies in your way. At the end of the hall,
turn right and open the door. In here, flip the switch, and the door behind you
will open. Follow its hallway into a new room, and when you get there, head
right and open the door. You'll find that it has Yellow Lights, so you just
locked yourself in here. Get to the other side of the room, and grab the Yellow
Key. Now, overrun the enemy across from the Key and escape. New alcoves with
enemies have been opened, but these can be easily over-ran. Go back into the
long hallway, take the door to your right, and you'll be in the hallway outside
the maze. Run back to where the Blue Key was, killing any enemies in your way.
Instead of going to where it was, go down the hallway to the left just before
it, kill the Demons, and open the door. Now we can open the Blue Door, then the
Red Door, and then the Yellow Door. Hit the exit switch in here.

E2M6: Tower of Babel
*********************
You start in a small room. Flip the switches on the central pillar and stairs
will appear. Go up any staircase, and open the door in front of us. On hard
skill levels, there will be Lost Souls here. Grab the Rocket Ammo, the
Soulshpere, kill all Lost Souls, equip your Rocket Launcher, and go out there
and kill the Cyberdemon.
Hints:
They made it much easier, and had to eliminate the fun and challenge. The
Cyberdemon can't see you from a distance. So get as far across from him as you
can before he sees you, and just fire rockets until he dies. Even if there's a
gunshot and you can't see him, we won't groan and run around, unlike the PC
version.
If he already saw you, run around the level and take potshots now and then,
shooting randomly at him when you two meet up.
Don't worry if you die. You will start with the weapons you had in the previous
level, with 100% health, and whatever your armor was.
Don't use the Plasma Gun. If you fire it at him for too long, the cell
projectiles can take up the screen, and since you can't see anything, he might
get a cheap hit on you.
Once you've destroyed the Cyberdemon, congratulations.
