###INTRODUCTION###

Welcome to netPikatron and Emperor Dodd's Bonus/DK coin guide!! The
guide is organized by
1. world and
2. stage. Within each stage, the various golden coins are sorted by
what order you reach them within the level. Once you have gotten all
the Bonus Coins in a stage, the flag will no longer droop. Once you've
gotten the DK coin, a yellow flag will rise. Getting all the golden
coins in a stage gets you an exclamation point at the end of the level
name. If you feel you absolutely HAVE to tell us something, e-mail us
at [email protected] or [email protected] or AIM us using the names given
above. Enjoy!

###MAIN GUIDE###

~~~LAKE ORANGATANGA~~~
--Lakeside Limbo--
BONUS:  This first barrel should be in plain sight, just under the
area...no problem! Just use Dixie to toss Kiddy upwards and forward
slightly to break through the crack in the ground! He'll land in the
barrel and you'll go launching to bonus land!
Collect 30 Stars:  This one's really easy. To start, grab the rope and
take the stars there, then float back and forth as Dixie to get the
rest.
KOIN:  This guy is in plain sight, and so is the needed metal barrel.
However, hitting this guy in the front won't work; the trick is to
bounce the barrel off the wall behind him to hit him in the back!
Having done so, claim your first DK coin!
BONUS:  After your first dip in the ocean, you'll come to a dock.
Between this dock and the next one, you can go back into the water. Do
so, and swim to the right to reach the bonus barrel. (see: STAGE 2)
Collect 15 Bananas: Unlike stars, bananas appear one at a time, and the
next one only appears after you've grabbed or missed the current one.
There's plenty of time to grab each banana, and in this stage, there's
plenty of time even if you miss one or two. Some will be above the rope
(grab on and jump), some will be below (press down and jump to get
off). After grabbing fifteen, the bonus coin appears. Grab it.
--Doorstop Dash--
BONUS: Easy to find, hard to reach. When you reach the first vertical
rope of the stage, continue left past it to get to an area with an
upside-down door and a ceiling hook too high up to reach with a normal
jump. What you have to do is get Kiddy on Dixie's back, and jump. At
the height of your jump, throw Kiddy onto the hook. The reason I say to
do it this way and not the other way is that only Dixie can then float
across and through the door. Past the 1-UP is the bonus barrel.
Collect 60 Stars: The room is divided into two portions, each of which
contains 30 stars and a hook to open the door between them. Collect the
stars in the right room, grab the hook, collect the stars in the left
side, grab the other hook, snatch the coin. Easy enough, right?
BONUS: After climbing up a rope with a Buzz patrolling it, there will
be a choice of going left or right. Go right, avoiding the Buzz there.
Grab the hook after the Buzz passes it. When he comes back, jump to the
right, and dash through the door to Bonus Land!
Find the Coin: Simple enough, right? The trick is that you have to
cling from hooks and dodge Buzzes. A LOT easier with Dixie in the lead,
as you can just float over the Buzz. Dodge the horizontally-moving Buzz
by jumping to the first of its hooks when it is at the other one, then
jumping over it and to the second one when it's coming back. Jump then
to the next hook before he comes for you again. To avoid the vertical
Buzz, jump as it goes down, then jump further, QUICK!! Now grab the coin
and RUN!!
KOIN: After the last door of the level, you'll come to a pit with a
trail of bananas. You'll know it's the right one because you'll
actually be travelling downwards...pretty fast, actually. Dixie is
recommended if you want to grab the bananas on the way down. In any
case, make sure you reach the ledge protruding from the left side, as
this is where Koin is. Now, the trick here is that you have to open the
door with the hook, then throw the barrel through the door. It should
hit Koin in the back, giving you a DK Coin.
--Tidal Trouble--
KOIN: Right in plain sight. Throw Dixie onto the roof you start out
under and grab the metal barrel. Throw it over the Koin, bounce it off
the wall, and claim your prize.
BONUS: Right after getting the O, swim backwards under the dock to the
Enguard transformation barrel. As Enguard, you will be able to get
through the twin Kokos under the bridge and to the bonus barrel.
Collect 30 Stars: You're Enguard. You can either swim over the Lurchin
(recommended), or kill him when his pink flesh is exposed. Either way,
collect all the stars and the coin's yours.
BONUS: When you see two red Knick-Knacks flying above the water,
bounce off of them and onto the platform above. Jump immediately to
dodge the Knocka! You can then use him to kill the Booty Bird and
claim a KONG letter. Now, there are two ways to continue from here,
both of which are difficult. The way I thought of first is to run up
to the edge of the platform as Dixie and jump at the VERY last moment,
then float to the barrel. VERY hard. A slightly (very slightly) easier
way is to play as Kiddy and roll off the edge of the platform, then
jump when you hit the water, performing a "water bounce". Do two of
these and you'll see the barrel above you. Jump into it. Should you
fail the stage, just hop right back in. Note that if you fail to get
to the bonus barrel, you have to exit the level and come back to try
again. Sorry.
Bash the Baddies: Bounce from Knick-Knack to Knick-Knack on a rope,
then jump in the water to get to the bonus coin. Very easy, and even
if you fail, all you have to do to get back in is to jump straight up!
--Skidda's Row--
BONUS: Right in plain sight. Leap off the top of the hill nearby.
Bash the Baddies: Jump on/roll through the four Skiddas. Easy.
KOIN: There's a little indent in the ground with him. You should know
what to do by now.
BONUS: Bounce off the Skiddas on the first roof that has two of them.
Unless you have very good timing, you may lose a Kong.
Find the Coin: You can dodge the enemies on your way to the right, but
I find it much more fun to "bash" them. Collect the coin at the right
end of the area.
--Murky Mill--
BONUS: After collecting (or missing) the O, there will be a Buzz over top
of a trap door. Kill the Buzz with the following Metal Barrel, then go
through the trap door.
Bash the Baddies: There are four Buzz circling overhead. Just grab the
barrel and jump high enough for the Buzz to hit it.
KOIN: You'll come to a metal barrel under a lift. Grab the barrel and
head right. You'll find Koin under a partial wall. Throw the barrel over
the wall with an upward throw. Take the coin.
BONUS: After the part where you have to suck the barrel towards you to
kill the mouse, you will go down a lift. Head to the left, and you will
enter a barrel cannon. At the top there, suck the metal keg towards you
and it will fall on a Buzz, giving you free passage to the bonus barrel!
Find the Coin: There are two pairs of Buzz circling in the air. Jump over
one Buzz to get into each circle and jump over the other to get out.
Should be pretty easy.
--Belcha's Barn--
BONUS: Get the golden coin by defeating Belcha.
~~~KREMWOOD FOREST~~~

--Barrel Shield Bust-up--

BONUS: When you come across a TNT barrel, grab it and explode on the side
wall that you didn't get it from.

Find the Coin: Avoid each Minkey in turn by stopping at the place just
between each pair's firing range.

KOIN: In a gap between two trees, you'll be able to throw Dixie upwards
from the right side. Once up there, you'll find a metal barrel on the
tree on the left. Throw it from sufficiently far away to hit the Koin.

BONUS: When you get to the very top of the trees, you will find a TNT
barrel up against the left wall. Lift it up and destroy the wall. If
you're playing with Kiddy, switch to Dixie. Climb up the branches through
the wall and, as Dixie, float through the holes in the trees to get to
the bonus barrel.

Grab 15 Bananas: The trick here is to not be hasty. Whenever a banana
appears at the other area-between-Minkeys than you're at, wait for the
middle Minkey to be between throwing one thing and the next, then GO FOR
IT, but be careful not the hit the other Minkeys' weapons!

--Riverside Race--

BONUS: From the ledge before the first pool with a tunnel, roll onto the
water as Kiddy and bounce twice by pressing B just as you hit the water.
If you miss, just try again. You should end up on top of the land with
the tunnel, where the bonus barrel is.

Grab 15 bananas: This stage is easy. All you have to do is make sure you
don't land on the Koko when jumping over him. Even if you lose, you can
just head back in by going to the left!

BONUS: You'll eventually find a pool of water with an exclamation-mark
barrel in the bottom-left. This is an invincibility barrel. Use it to
bounce off the red Buzz above the pool and up to the bonus barrel!

Bash the Baddies: You have to kill four Rekoils. You can try to jump on
their heads just as they land, or you can roll through them. Either
method will work. Once killed, they leave behind a golden coin...YAY!

KOIN: When you get close to the end, to the point where Brash's record
shows up, you will have to jump backwards over the bees and bounce off
the water as before to reach an upper ledge with Koin on it. Kill him.

--Squeals on Wheels--

BONUS: When you get to a choice between a rope upwards and a path to the
left, go left. Kill the Sneek, then jump from the platform's highest
point to on top of the Sneek's wheel. Jump from there to the left, and
look up for your barrel.

Collect 20 stars: You have to grab these stars from atop two wheels with
Sneeks in them. However, despite the appearance, these wheels don't try
to roll you off. The only tricky star here is the lowest one between the
two wheels, for which I recommend rolling off of one and then jumping in
midair.

BONUS: In an area with two Sneeks, kill them both. Then jump as Kiddy on
top of the first wheel. Grab Dixie and throw her onto the second wheel.
Then jump from there to the top area, and find the barrel!

Collect 15 Bananas: This is also done back and forth on top of Sneek
wheels. Remember that it IS safe to stand on top of the wheels! I also
recommend holding Y here, for speed.

KOIN: Once you get to the Sneek with two green Buzz guarding it, kill
them both and jump on top of the wheel. From there, have Kiddy jump and
throw Dixie to the ledge above it on the right, where Koin is waiting.

--Springin' Spiders--

BONUS: When you get to a cliff-like area between the two trees, jump down
to get the Squawks barrel. Using this, you can take a shortcut up between
the trees. Fly up through the tree on the right, kill the Buzz at the top
of the passage, and fly straight through the tree to get the bonus
barrel.

Grab 15 Bananas: As Squawks, you'll fly up past a red Buzz to an upper
area. There will be a stationary red Buzz which the bananas will appear
around. Once you've got all the bananas, wait for the lower Buzz to get
out of the way before going down. Hold down to go down quicker. Grab the
coin.

KOIN: After springing off of a red Nid to an area with a large amount of
space overhead, get Dixie on Kiddy's back and jump and throw her onto a
tree branch up and to the left, just off the top of the screen. If you
miss and hit the red Buzz below, you'll probably both die, so be careful.
Once you get up there, throw the barrel up through the hole in the wall,
followed by Dixie. After getting the DK coin, use the TNT barrel to get
back to the normal path.

BONUS: You will come to a purple Nid with a gap to his right. Fall down
the gap and you'll land in the bonus barrel.

Collect 30 Stars: Jump on the Nid to collect all the stars on the way up
the tree, then float as Dixie to collect the ones outside. If Dixie is
unavailable, try to jump so you collect two columns at once, then go back
up and get the rest.

--Bobbing Barrel Brawl--

BONUS: After being launched over a pit with the bonus barrel in it being
guarded by a red Buzz, shoot water upward at the Booty Bird, causing it
to drop a TNT barrel on the red Buzz, allowing you to enter the bonus
barrel.

Find the Coin: This bonus stage is very difficult. We have two barrels
which we can toss in the water to make it over without being devoured by
the Nibbler. Try to toss them to about one-third (throw upwards) and
two-thirds (throw long) of the way across. If you fall in the water, JUMP
OUT IMMEDIATELY!! You still have a slight chance of survival!!

KOIN: The necessary metal barrel is under a pair of red Buzz. Suck it out
from a distance with your trunk, then head right. Directly above Koin is
a red Buzz. Be careful where you throw that barrel. Throw it past Koin
and hit him in the back.

BONUS: When you come to running Knick-Knacks, DON'T jump on them!
Instead, let them start flying, then bounce off of them and into the
lake. Your inertia will counteract the buoyancy sufficiently well to dump
you in the bonus barrel.

Collect 10 Stars: Easiest bonus stage ever. Just jump from barrel to
barrel, and the coin's yours.

--Arich's Ambush--

KEY ITEM: Go ahead, trash Arich, you have to to go onwards. Sure, you
don't get a golden coin, but at least you get the Patch.

Note: The following two world can be done in either order, at your
discretion.

~~~COTTON-TOP COVE~~~
--Bazza's Blockade--
BONUS: You'll see some Bazzas floating past below you. Swim between them
to get to the first bonus barrel.
Find the Coin: Dodge over the first Lurchin before the Bazzas start
coming, then swim under everything else, and you'll easily win this
stage.
BONUS: After swimming up a ways, you'll notice Bazzas coming out of the
left side, NOT directly beside you. Swim under them or sacrifice a Kong
to enter the stage.
Bash the Baddies: You become Enguard. All you have to do is stab the red
Kokos with your nose when they're out of their holes. Easy.
KOIN: As with all the completely underwater levels, of which this is the
first, the coin is hidden at the end, near the flag, in the only
above-water area. Run past the flag, then jump over Koin to get the metal
barrel. Then stand on top of Koin's shield and throw the barrel at the
wall to kill him right out from underneath you.
--Rocket Barrel Ride--
BONUS: At some point, you'll come across a rocket barrel with a Buzz near
the point you come out. Hold left and Y to bounce across a trail of
Knick-Knacks to the bonus barrel.
Collect 20 Stars: The time limit is very short, so be sure to get the
stars at the edge of each platform as well as the ones in the middle.
Probably the only way you'll fail this stage is if you don't know about
those.
BONUS: Right after the No-Parry sign, jump over the barrel behind the
falls and continue right. Go down to the bonus barrel.
Collect 40 Stars: The basic procedure is to jump in, collect the stars on
the left, fall back in, collect the stars on the right, fall back in,
then blast to the next barrel. Do this until you've gotten all the stars.
KOIN: Right near the flag, you'll find a metal barrel and an automatic
blast barrel. From below the blast barrel, throw the metal barrel UP (so
it won't roll very fast), then jump in the blast barrel. You should land
on the other side of Koin so that he'll get hit in the back by the metal
barrel you just threw. :P
--Kreeping Klasps--
BONUS: While climbing across a rope, you'll notice two Buzz flying back
and forth above it. Jump between them when they go out and immediately
again from there to enter the bonus barrel.
Grab 15 Bananas: Make sure you remember to hold down when jumping from
the upper rope to the lower rope and you'll be fine.
BONUS: You'll come to a Klasp going back and forth on a long rope
above two Klasps going back and forth on shorter ropes below it. From
the center of the long rope, jump down between the two lower Klasps
just as they separate, then jump down again into a blast barrel that
will send you into the bonus barrel.
Find the Coin: All you gotta do is avoid the Klasps, just like you've
been doing the whole level.
KOIN: Run past the flag and grab the metal barrel from in the little
shack, then run back to Koin and stand on him, throwing the barrel at
the wall, to kill him out from under you.
--Tracker Barrel Trek--
BONUS: After shooting up through a ledge with a tracker barrel, use
Dixie to float as far right as you can. You'll land in a bonus barrel.
Collect 70 Stars: Should be easy, just try and get as many stars at a
time as you can, and be sure to get all the stars between the tracker
barrels.
BONUS: Right after transforming into Ellie, you'll come across a ledge
where you can go into a tracker barrel behind the waterfall, from
which you can get to a bonus stage guarded by two Buzz. Kill the Buzz
with water from the waterfall and enter.
Bash the Baddies: Use the tracker barrels to launch yourself on top of
the various Knick-Knacks. Simple.
KOIN: You only get one shot at this one, because the needed barrel is
gotten by transforming back from Ellie. DO NOT LET THE BARREL GET OFF
THE SCREEN OR IT WILL DISAPPEAR!! Walk just far enough to the left on
the bridge across that the wall you need to bounce the barrel off is
in sight. Throw the metal barrel UPWARDS so it will go slowly, then,
after it bounces off the wall, run to the point on the bridge directly
above Koin, so that he will look upwards.
--Fish Food Frenzy--
BONUS: You will reach a point where you have to choose between going
left and going right past a Lurchin. Go right. The barrel is in plain
sight. Hey, that rhymes...oh, and try not to eat the Lurchin, or your
"buddy" will get hungry.
Grab 15 Bananas: The bananas appear in a screen-sized, square area
with no evil fish to annoy you. Just swim around collecting them, easy
as pie.
BONUS: The last Lurchin of the level is guarding a bonus barrel. The
only way to get to it besides sacrificing a Kong is to feed it to your
"pal", so you'd better hope it's not very hungry...
Bash the Baddies: Have your "friend" eat all the Kokos in the
plus-shaped area, then grab the coin.
KOIN: From the platform with the flag, jump and throw Dixie towards
the higher ledge on the left. Now take the metal barrel and KILL
KOIN!!
--Squirt's Showdown--
KEY ITEM: Beat Squirt to get...one ski. Oh joy.
~~~MEKANOS~~~

--Fire-ball Frenzy--

BONUS: After going back and forth down a series of platforms, go into
the cavern in the left and either float across as Dixie to get into
the bonus barrel or roll off then jump as either Kong.

Bash the Baddies: You become Squitter for this stage, and have to kill
a bunch of Buzz. Remember his keys: B is still Jump, Y is an attack
web, and A makes or opens a platform web. This is critical for hitting
the higher Buzz.

BONUS: Just to the left of the Karbos that shoots 3 fireballs at a
time is a lift just out of reach. You need to throw Dixie up there to
reach it. From on the lift, roll and jump to the right between Karbos'
many shots to get to the bonus barrel.

Grab 15 Bananas: This bonus stage is marginally easier if you know
that you can run past the fireballs after they bounce off the
ground. Dodge the fireballs and grab those bananas before they
disappear!

KOIN: After the fast upward lift, jump to the ledge on the right from
the one on the left to find Koin. Dodge the shots from Karbos as you
go to grab the metal barrel, then stand on top of Koin as you throw it
at the wall.

--Demolition Drain-pipe--

BONUS: Part way along the track, you'll come to a pair of Buzz with a
banana above the second. Jump on the Buzz and touch the banana to
enter the stage.

Bash the Baddies: To hit every Knick-Knack, you'll have to jump around
with perfect timing, but there's not that many of them at
least. Remember that down + jump = get down off rail.

BONUS: After a hole in the ground with a garbage can on each side and
a hole in the ground with a Knick-Knack above it, you'll see a hole in
the ground with a banana. Try not to bounce off the Knick-Knack, as
this will get you attached to the ceiling. Grab the banana.

Collect 20 Stars: This is a lot like the previous Bash the Baddies, in
that you have to fall on both Buzz to get all the stars. Remember,
down + jump = downward jump.

KOIN: Right at the end. Easily spotted, easily killed.

--Ripsaw Rage--

BONUS: After running far left and a little bit back right, you'll come
to a wooden barrel. Use it to kill the Buzz, which is guarding the
bonus barrel.

Find the Coin: Ignore the timer here, since the ripsaw chasing you
sets a much lower limit. Hold Y. That's all I can say.

BONUS: After running right a long way, then left a long way, you'll be
able to grab a steel crate from a corner. Use it to take out the Buzz
on the right and get to the second bonus barrel.

Grab 15 Bananas: You're invincible here, standing on the ripsaw! This
is pretty cool, but it impairs walking due to the back-and-forth
motion, so jump everywhere!

KOIN: Right near the end of the level, right past the exit of the
second bonus stage, you'll climb along the left wall next to a tree
with a gap in the ground that has a banana in it. Run into that gap
and a blast barrel will launch you into another blast barrel which
will launch you into an invincibility barrel! Now ride the ripsaw up
to the top of the tree. Grab the metal barrel and jump onto the branch
above Koin. Throw the barrel from there to kill him.

--Blazing Bazukas--

BONUS: You should see a TNT barrel, followed shortly by a TNT
barrel-shooting Bazuka. Use the TNT barrel to kill the Bazuka, then
hop in the Squitter barrel he was standing in. If you mess up with the
TNT barrel, just stand on his gun, on the left side, and you should be
able to enter the Squitter barrel anyway. In any case, use Squitter to
get up through a gap in the roof just above where the TNT barrel
was. Use attack shots to keep yourself from being hit on your way to
the bonus barrel, and enter the bonus stage.

Find the Coin: Use platform webs to cross the gap, shooting the Buzz
that get in your way.

KOIN: You should still be Squitter after the bonus stage. After being
launched up by a blast barrel, fall half-way back down to a ledge on
the left. Use platform barrels to cross the gap on the left, then hit
the barrel with an "S" on it to change it and the Bazuka's barrels
into metal barrels. Cross back with more platform webs so that Koin
will not be looking at the metal barrels.

BONUS: After using delayed blast barrels to shoot up past two Bazukas
and land on the second one, float as Dixie from the platform above to
get to the bonus barrel on the left.

Find the Coin: Blast from the barrel between shots from the Bazuka and
try to land on one of the barrels. From there, hold Y to get from one
to the next, all the way to the other side. If you land in front of
the Bazuka, JUMP! Claim your prize.

---Low-G Labyrinth--

BONUS: At the second place with three Buzz aligned vertically, put
Dixie on Kiddy's back, leap above the Buzz, and at the height of your
jump, throw Dixie upwards. She should land in the bonus barrel. You
can also get into this bonus stage after becoming Squawks.

Collect 80 Stars: This is a simple matter of jump up through one
column, fall down through another, jump up through the next column,
fall down through one more, etc.

BONUS: As the purple Squawks, fly past a slow-moving green Buzz and
grab a TNT barrel. With the TNT barrel in the wall behind you, fly
back down past the Buzz. Destroy the lower Buzz and go past where it
was. If you fail to hit the Buzz with the TNT barrel, you'll need
either exceptional timing or an expendable Kong...or both.

Bash the Baddies: For the endurance of the bonus stage you become
green Squawks. You must spit eggs at all the green Buzz on your way up
and down the pipeline, then collect the coin at the bottom. Make sure
you're holding up or down while moving in that direction to go faster.

KOIN: When you come to the first No-Squawks sign, DO NOT go past
it. Instead, use the returning barrel down below to kill the Buzz to
the left and go past them. The upper No-Squawks sign will yield a
metal barrel with which to kill Koin. If you miss with this barrel,
use the reappearing one on the ledge above instead.

--Kaos Karnage--

KEY ITEM: For defeating Kaos you get...a single ski. You need two skis
before Funky can use them. The other one comes from Squirt in
Cotton-Top Cove.

~~~K3~~~
--Krevice Kreepers--
BONUS: You'll get up to a rope with a Klasp on it. When the Klasp
chases you, flee to the right, then jump onto the upper rope, dash
past the Klasp, and drop back down, dashing to the left in order to
get to the blast barrel that will send you into the bonus barrel.
Collect 30 Stars: Klasp will chase you as you try to grab stars. Float
past him as Dixie or jump over him as Kiddy and you should be able to
grab all the stars in a few rounds. Be sure to hold Y at all times.
KOIN: Right after the second vertical rope, you'll find a path to the
left housing a metal barrel and Koin. You HAVE to be Kiddy to throw
the barrel correctly. Stand just as far under the ledge Koin's on as
you can without hitting your head on it. Jump, and at the height of
your jump, throw the barrel, then immediately hit Y again and run to
the left. If you're fast enough, the barrel will kill Koin. Take the
DK coin as your prize.
BONUS: Right after climbing past three Klasps in a row, you'll have a
choice of going into an arrow barrel, or into a little cave with the N
in it. In the gap with the N, toss Dixie up and to the right to get to
an area with a Knocka and the bonus barrel.
Find the Coin: Lure each Klasp to the far side of the rope, then climb
as fast as you can to the other side of the rope. As soon as you're
completely out from under the Klasp, jump twice while still moving to
the side in order to get safely to the next free rope. Make sure
you're going left to right on the second one. Be really careful since
these Klasps are really fast. I shouldn't need to say this, but HOLD Y
AT ALL TIMES! Also, it may help to know that Klasps have trouble
turning around...
--Tearaway Toboggan--
BONUS: Right at the beginning you'll see a manual blast barrel. Aim it
down and to the right instead of straight right and you'll enter the
barrel.
Bash the Baddies: As Kiddy, throw Dixie into each Knick-Knack to kill
them all. That's why there's a DK barrel there, in the stage!
BONUS: Right after the one, two, and then three Skiddas in a row to
bounce off of, you'll find some houses patrolled by Buzz. You're
forced to jump on the first house to not crash. The second house you
can go in front of. Tap the B button in order to not jump onto the
house, but to still go over the Buzz and into the bonus barrel.
Collect 50 Stars: Look at the path of stars ahead of time in order to
determine whether to jump onto each house or go in front of it. The
pattern is: ON, ON, IN FRONT, ON.
KOIN: After you get off the toboggan using the arrow barrel, you'll
find a reappearing metal barrel. First kill the Booty Bird to get some
bananas, then carry the barrel past the flag to get to Koin. Stand on
his shield and throw the barrel. You'll fall onto the coin.
--Barrel Drop Bounce--
KOIN: After the very first upward blast barrel, jump and float to the
right as Dixie to get to the metal barrel. Face the nearby wall and
throw it upwards to make it roll slower. Ride it down the hill, and
jump off and forward at the last moment to kill Koin. Then, after
taking the DK coin, float back to the left.
BONUS: Right next to the area where you met Koin, you'll see two
waterfall barrels in a row. After jumping across them, jump back onto
the second one when it comes again and float from there to the bonus
barrel.
Grab 15 Bananas: The bananas will appear in various locations
surrounding the two falling barrels. Some must be missed in order to
prevent plummeting off the cliff, so don't go too far out of your way
to get them and you should be fine.
BONUS: Right before the manual blast barrel that blasts you onto a
floating barrel, float right with Dixie to land on a floating barrel
from which you can jump to the bonus barrel.
Find the Coin: You have to climb straight up a waterfall by jumping
back and forth between barrels on the left and right. Don't stop
jumping and you should be able to make it.
--Krack-Shot Kroc--
BONUS: Shortly after the first slime pit, there will be a dent in the
ceiling. Use platform webs to go up it and into the bonus barrel.
Collect 15 Bananas: Try to have two platform webs out at all times so
that when one disappears, you can replace it with another. It
shouldn't be too hard since you don't have to dodge Krack-Shot Kroc in
here.
BONUS: At some point after climbing a vertical tunnel, you'll find an
area with a red Buzz patrolling above you. Use platform webs to go up
past the Buzz to a bonus barrel.
Bash the Baddies: This is by far my favorite bonus stage, because you
actually get to play as Krack-Shot Kroc! The arrows move the targeter,
and the A button fires. Your objective is to kill eight Rekoils in the
four corners and two Buzz making a circle around the center of the
area where the bonus coin will appear. Once it appears, shoot it to
collect it.
KOIN: Koin is in plain sight. The only problem is that you can't get a
second chance; Squitter turns into the needed metal barrel.
--Lemguin Lunge--
BONUS: Right at the beginning of the level, there is a red Buzz right
below an off-screen bonus barrel. Throw Dixie upwards at an angle to
get her past the red Buzz. If she hits the Buzz, she'll die, so watch
out!
Find the Coin: Jump over Lemguins or bounce from one to another as you
proceed to the right, and grab the coin.
KOIN: Stand on top of Koin and throw the metal barrel to the
left. Very easy.
BONUS: Right after the G, there's a shack with the bonus barrel in
plain sight under it. The only problem is the Lemguins dashing past
the shack in quick succession, so you'll have to come from the right
side to get it.
Collect 30 Stars: You shouldn't have much difficulty grabbing the
stars and dodging the Lemguins. Grab the coin.
--Bleak's House--
BONUS: Beat Bleak. Grab the bonus coin. Easy? Depends how much
practice you got in at Swanky's. Of course, Swanky wasn't firing back
at you...
~~~RAZOR RIDGE~~~

--Buzzer Barrage--

BONUS: The first time you're going down, instead go right and grab the
wooden crate. Face left, and drop it at a time when the red Buzz is
out of the way to kill the green Buzz, allowing access to the bonus
barrel.

Bash the Baddies: You have to use the same wooden barrel to kill three
Buzz that are circling above your starting position, three Buzz in
holes in the ground, and one Buzz wandering back and forth at the
upper-right of the area.

KOIN: Right after the large room with many Buzz, there will be an area
in the left side of the ceiling where you must expertly dodge a pair
of Kopters to get up to the metal barrel which you will then use to
kill the two Buzz on the right side so that you can get down. Then use
the metal barrel to kill Koin while floating fairly high above him and
take his "shield".

BONUS: Right before the flag, there's a Kopter hovering between two
holes in the ceiling. You can actually bounce off his head and
survive. If you bounce up the right hole, you can get some bananas and
lives. Bouncing up the left side gets you the bonus barrel.

Collect 40 Stars: There are two columns of stars with a Kopter
hovering between them. Bounce off the Kopter's head while holding Y to
get the stars from each column. It will take a few tries for each
side.

--Kong-Fused Cliffs--

BONUS: After two Buzz flying in and out of ledges, there will be a
banana on a ledge followed by two Buzz circling a center area next to
each other. EITHER A) Jump to the banana and jump repeatedly in order
to scale the ledge or B) Float over the two Buzz as Dixie along the
trail of bananas.

Find the Coin: Use the arrow barrels to get you past the Buzz in your
escape from the flaming rope. The arrow barrels alternate sides, and
are far easier to get into as Kiddy since you don't even have to jump
off the rope to reach them as him. Be careful not to go too fast,
though, or you'll hit the top of the screen and be pushed into a
Buzz...

BONUS: Right after the three Buzz in a row that go back and forth past
the rope, float as Dixie to the right to enter the barrel.

Find the Coin: Starting on the left, alternate left and right to dodge
all the Kopters.

KOIN: When you get to the end don't get off the rope at the first
opportunity, but rather ride it all the way to the top and jump off to
the left. Grab the metal barrel and throw it to the left. It'll bounce
off a wall off-screen and roll into the tunnel below you and hit the
Koin, who was hiding there. Drop off on either side and enter the
tunnel to claim your prize.

--Floodlit Fish--

BONUS: After the first pair of Lurchins guarding a tunnel, on your way
down, you'll see three red Kokos going in and out of tunnels on the
sides of the area. Go right past the third one to get to the bonus
barrel.

Collect 90 Stars: The stars are arranged in a pseudo-circular shape in
the area. What can I say? Just grab them!

BONUS: Right before the G (you can backtrack if necessary), there are
a couple Lurchins guarding a path straight down. Dodge or kill them
(killing recommended), and enter the bonus barrel.

Collect 40 Stars: Just follow the path of stars without missing any
and the bonus coin will be yours.

KOIN: Easily spotted at the end of the level. Jump to the left to grab
the needed barrel, then throw it into the wall behind him.

--Pot Hole Panic--

BONUS: Make sure you still have Ellie when you get to the second pool
of water. Swim to the left. When you jump to get the N, press X at the
height of your jump to jump off Ellie and into the bonus barrel.

Collect 20 Stars: You get Ellie back. You have to use the same skill
you used to enter here to get the various stars.

BONUS: Make sure you don't lose Squitter either. You have to use his
platform webs to climb up into the area where the Kachuka is throwing
bombs at you from. You'll know it's the right place because there is
only one Kachuka in the Squitter section.

Collect 15 Bananas: Pretty easy, just remember to dodge Kachuka's
bombs every couple bananas.

KOIN: Right after the No-Squitter sign but right before the flag,
throw Dixie to and overhead ledge, then throw her again to get to the
metal barrel. Jump down to Koin's ledge and stand on his shield. While
on his shield, hold down and release the barrel. Because it fell a
short distance, it will roll and kill him. YAY!

--Ropey Rumpus--

BONUS: Right after the first upward climb, you'll find a TNT barrel on
the ledge you'll get to. Grab it and leap off, HOLDING RIGHT. By doing
so, you will dodge all the Buzz on the way back down and blow a hole
in the wall when you land, allowing access to the bonus barrel.

Find the Coin: Just climb past each Buzz when it's just gone past and
you'll have no trouble at all in this level. If you fail, just use the
TNT barrel to reenter.

KOIN: Right after the two Buzz flying in a loop around a hunk of rock,
jump down into a pit on the left and you'll find the metal barrel and
Koin. Kill Koin.

BONUS: When you get Parry, MAKE SURE HE LIVES. He creates the second
bonus barrel at the No-Parry sign.

Grab 15 Bananas: This is a tricky one. Two slow-moving Buzz patrol
this area, hindering travel from one side to the other. Careful when
passing them, and remember to hold Y for speed and hold down and jump
to get the bonus coin.

--Barbos's Barrier--

BONUS: Play as Enguard against a giant Lurchin. Victory nets you a bonus coin.

~~~KAOS KORE~~~
--Konveyor Rope Klash--
BONUS: Below the first conveyor rope that you don't have to ride all
the way across to get safely onto the ground, a little to the left.
Collect 30 Stars: Make sure you collect all the stars hidden in the
trees, including the one hidden in the upper-left corner. Grab the
coin.
BONUS: Jump off to the left from the first conveyor rope with two Buzz
circling each other. It's hidden in the trees.
Collect 15 Bananas: Just remember, upper rope to go left, lower rope
to go right. Hold down to switch from upper to lower.
KOIN: Koin is just past the G. Stand on top of Koin and hurl the
barrel to the right.
--Creepy Caverns--
No, there isn't supposed to be K's, the game really does spell it with
C's. But that's not the point...ooh, ghost barrels!
BONUS: Right after the first ghost barrel that shoots you up between
two red Buzz or into one, get Dixie on Kiddy's back and jump to the
left, past the automatic blast barrel, throwing Dixie upwards as you
pass it in order to reach the ledge on the left, from which you can
reach a bonus stage. Once on the left ledge, throw Dixie upwards again
to reach the barrel.
Collect 50 Stars: Try to jump in the ghost barrel only when it's
straight up. Jumping in at other times will only waist precious time.
BONUS: Shortly after the first bonus barrel, you'll come across a
wooden barrel and a Krumple. DO NOT use the barrel to kill the
Krumple, but rather step on him with Kiddy. Use the barrel instead to
kill the Buzz just ahead. Throw Dixie past his location in order to
collect Squitter, who you will need to reach the next bonus
barrel. Not too long after collecting Squitter, you'll come across an
area in the ceiling where ghost barrels alternate left and right
sides, always shooting downwards. You have to use platform webs to get
up past all of them to the bonus barrel. Tricky stuff.
Find the Coin: Use platform webs and good timing to get past the red
Buzz and ghost barrels. If you fail, cover the gap with a platform web
to get back to the bonus barrel.
KOIN: You'll know you're there when you find the only metal barrel of
the level. Jump into the ghost barrel at a time when it is NOT there
and quickly throw the metal barrel upwards. After the ghost barrel
shoots you out, quickly jump past or onto Koin to get him killed.
--Lightning Look-out--
BONUS: Swim down the water right below the O.
Bash the Baddies: Basically, just kill the Knick-Knacks. You don't
need to worry about lightning striking while you're in the water
because it is mysteriously absent from this place...
KOIN: You will come across two Booty Birds, one on which is under a
red Buzz. Have the lightning strike the one that's out in the open,
then use the wooden barrel from that to chase the other Booty Bird
away. Use the metal barrel from the second one to kill Koin in the
usual manner. BE CAREFUL NOT TO LET THE LIGHTNING KILL EITHER BARREL!!
BONUS: The bonus barrel is in plain sight above a pool with three
barrels in it. You could throw Dixie upwards as Kiddy, but it's much
easier to just float in from the shore as Dixie.
Collect 15 Bananas: The only obstacle here is lightning. Don't get
struck by it and you'll be fine.
--Koindozer Klamber--
Ah, finally a Koin (well, Koindozer, actually) who isn't afraid to
come rushing up to you...oh, wait, that's a bad thing...
BONUS: Right after the first Bazuka of the level, jump off the rope to
the left to get into the bonus barrel, which is mostly hidden by
trees.
Collect 30 Stars: You've got to grab the stars from above and between
Koindozers on small platforms, so I recommend using Dixie. This not
only helps to get the stars, but also to land safely on the
Koindozers. Also, make sure you don't miss the star hidden in the
trees above the second Koindozer.
BONUS: This barrel's in plain sight, right before the first Rekoil of
the level. Jump onto the Koindozer and throw whatever character you
aren't up and into the barrel.
Collect 15 Bananas: Because of her ability to float and therefore land
more accurately on top of the Koindozers, Dixie is recommended for
this stage.
KOIN: You'll see Koin being shot in the back with wooden barrels,
which can't harm it. As soon as you get across the cliff, jump off the
rope to the left and float back with Dixie. Just as you start on your
way across, you'll hit a barrel switch which will change the wooden
barrels to metal barrels.
--Poisonous Pipeline--
Reversed keys...ugh. Oh, and you'll notice that before each battle
with Kaos, you have to go through a pipeline with weird stuff in it?
BONUS: After swimming over a downward pipe, there will be a red Koko
swimming fast between two Lurchins. Swim past the Koko to get to the
bonus barrel. Remember to hold Y, and don't you DARE forget that left
and right are reversed!
Bash the Baddies: The first three seconds of this stage will
automatically be wasted transforming into Enguard. The only tricky
part here is that your keys are still reversed. Oh, and being Enguard
really helps with the rest of the stage. :P
BONUS: Right near the end of the level, when you get a choice between
going up and left past some hard-to-dodge Lurchins, go past the
Lurchins to reach the bonus barrel.
Collect 30 Stars: All you have to do is swim in a circle. Not quite as
easy as it sounds because of reversed controls, but easy nonetheless.
KOIN: Just above where you came out of the second bonus stage, as far
as you can go to the left of the flag, is a metal barrel, and
Koin. Grab the metal barrel, jump on top of Koin's shield, then jump
as high as you can and throw the barrel. If you jump high enough, it
should be able to come back and hit Koin.
--Kastle Kaos--
BONUS: Beat Kaos again, followed by Baron K. Roolenstine. This time
you have to use barrels to hit Kaos...
~~~KREMATOA~~~

The secret to entering this "lost world" is to circle around the four
stones sticking out of the water in a clockwise direction with
relative speed. If you're fast enough, and are going in the right
direction, around the right rocks, then the Lost World of Krematoa
will rise out of the ocean! Now that you're in here, you need Bonus
Coins to get to the actual levels: 15 coins for each of the first
four, and 25 for the last one. You may be thinking, "but I don't have
that many bonus coins yet!" Thing is, the first four stages have bonus
coins in them that are needed to reach the final stage...

--Stampede Sprint--

BONUSES: The first two bonus barrels are right at the beginning of the
level. Use Kiddy to throw Dixie into them.

Grab 15 Bananas: The barrel on the right is a grab 15 bananas stage
where you use Squawks to fly around red Buzz and grab bananas. The
barrel on the left is also of this variety, but in this one, you use
Squitter to help you. It is recommended to do the left stage first.

BONUS: Surprised? You shouldn't be. Only in Krematoa will you find
levels with three bonus barrels. They had to in order to have the
final "Boomer's Special" cost an even 25 bonus coins. Keep Parry alive
throughout the whole level by jumping whenever you're about to go
under a red Buzz. Parry becomes the bonus barrel.

Grab 15 Bananas: DO NOT get Parry killed!! You can run under the red
Buzz, but make sure to hold Y and get a running start when you have to
jump Parry over it for a banana. If you lose Parry, you leave the
stage. It's impossible to get back in.

KOIN: Changing back from Ellie will give you a metal barrel to kill
Koin with. Run past the flag and throw it over him, killing him in the
usual manner.

COG: Simply grab the flag and a cog will pop off. You'll see why you
need them later. If you've already gotten the cog, you'll get a bear
coin instead.

--Criss Kross Cliffs--

BONUS: At the first gap of the level, jump over the two red Buzz to
get to the bonus stage.

Grab 15 Bananas: Any time you have to move from side to side, make
sure the Bazooka has already fired and isn't just about to.

KOIN: After getting the G and ascending once more, jump down past the
barrels and hold right to get to Koin, as well as a switch to change
the barrels.

BONUS: In the second large gap in the walls, go to the right and throw
Dixie upwards and into the bonus barrel just off the top of the
screen.

Bash the Baddies: Bounce off the Bazooka's barrels to the top off the
area, then bounce back down off the four Knick-Knacks on the left,
then bounce back up and kill the Knick-Knack on the right to make the
bonus coin appear. Take it.

COG: You get the second cog the same way as the first one. Huzzah.

--Tyrant Twin Tussle--

After the first Kuff & Klout, throw Dixie into a gap in the ceiling in
order to turn into Squitter. Now you can kill Kuff & Klout! :D

KOIN: Right after the O, ascend the wide gap in the ceiling to come
across Koin, and a Bazuka that's not quite successfully shooting
him. Partially bridge the gap that the Bazuka's shots roll into to
have them roll further, into Koin.

BONUS: Right after grabbing the DK coin, go over the Bazuka and into
the gap behind him for the bonus barrel.

Collect 40 Stars: This is designed to be possible as Dixie and Kiddy,
but it's soooo much easier as Squitter. Just kill Kuff & Klout and
reach for the stars!

BONUS: After the second set of Kuff & Klout after the No-Squitter
sign, throw Dixie up towards a gap in the ceiling to get into a
spinning blast barrel. Above you, you will see Kuff & Klout jumping
back and forth. If you were to explore more thoroughly, you'd find a
TNT barrel on the left and two red Buzz guarding a bonus barrel on the
right. The objective is to kill one of the Buzz with the TNT
barrel. You have to launch yourself up when Kuff & Klout are on the
right side of the gap, then grab the TNT barrel and bring it closer to
the gap, then SET IT DOWN. Let Kuff & Klout jump over you, then pick
up the barrel again and use it!

Find the Coin: Chase the twins into the tunnel, and jump over them to
get to the middle. Repeat for the space in between the two pairs, and
for the next pair. This is tougher than it sounds, and so is getting
into this stage in the first place...

BONUS: Go right past the flag and grab the floating banana to enter
this invisible barrel.

Grab 15 Bananas: Try not to stand in the middle or sides of the area,
and the tyrant twins shouldn't jump on you. On the other hand, if they
do get you, you could always try again.

COG: Grab the flag.

--Swoopy Salvo--

BONUS: When you come across the first red Buzz of the stage, go
straight down the tree trunk and you'll enter the bonus barrel.

Find the Coin: There's three Swoopies that will dive at you and peck
themselves into the wall. For each one, jump to make it notice you,
then either float across or rolling jump across to get on top of
it. After climbing the three Swoopies, jump in the blast barrel and
you'll hit the coin!

BONUS: Later on, you'll see an area between two trees where you can go
up fairly far. Go up and you'll see Swoopies flying out of a large
hole in the left wall. Go through that hole, attacking Swoopies with
eggs as necessary. Right above there, you'll see two red Buzz circling
a banana and an invisible bonus barrel. To get past the Buzz, float
above them and hold down right after one goes past you.

Grab 15 Bananas: Swoopies will alternate flying from upper-left to
lower-right and flying from upper-right to lower-left. Make sure you
don't go past an area where a Swoopy is about to come out of, and you
should be fine.

KOIN: Right after exiting or bypassing the second bonus stage, you'll
come to an alternate No-Squawks sign. Jump down from there onto Koin's
shield and throw the barrel to the left.

BONUS: After two Swoopies that stab themselves into the wall for you,
you'll come across a line of Swoopies diving from the upper-left of
the area between the trees into the next area. Jump on one's head and
bounce across them to the left to get into the bonus barrel.

Grab 20 Stars: There is a DK barrel in this bonus stage because you
need to, as Kiddy, throw Dixie up into the stars. Pretty low time
limit, but you didn't get this far on luck alone.

COG: Complete the level. Yaaaaay.

--Rocket Rush--

You ever notice how your keys are reversed in the level before each
fight with Baron K. Roolenstine? This level can be tricky...just be
glad there's no bonus barrels in it!!

KOIN: After completing the rocket section with the reversed keys, you
should end up beside a tall ledge with Koin on it. Grab the metal
barrel. Head back to the left. Jump forward and, at the height of your
jump, throw the metal barrel up and over Koin (that's UP and over, not
LEFT and over). Ta-da! One dead Koin. Claim the DK coin, and exit the
stage.

COG: You haven't figured this out by now?? Just complete the level for
your final cog!

--Knautilus--

KOIN: Okay, so you don't fight Koin for this one, but rather Baron
K. Roolenstine, but the prize is the same. After beating him, claim
your final DK coin and go buy the Gyrocopter!!...unless, of course,
this one turns out not to be your final one, in which case you should
go back and see which levels don't have a yellow flag, enter these
levels, and use this guide to find and defeat Koin!

###BANANA BIRD GUIDE###

Yes, as an added bonus, we now have a Banana Bird Guide! YAY!!

The object of the Banana Bird caves is to win a short game of Simon
Says. For example, if the computer goes X-Y-A-B, you have to go
X-Y-A-B. The crystals are positioned in the same places as the buttons
on your controller. After collecting larger numbers of Banana Birds,
the games get longer.

Bounty Beach: Just outside Funky's Rentals, you'll find a patch of
beach you can reach with any boat.

Barnacle's Island: First buy the shell from Bazaar's General Store,
then bring it here and trade it for the bird.

Smuggler's Cove: Swim under the second bridge in Lake Orangatanga and
go to the small area of beach to find this area.

Arich's Hoard: Beat the record in Riverside Race (01:15:00), then go
talk to Brash. He'll get really mad and cause the area to shake,
making a log fall in the river. Run across the log from Bobbing Barrel
Brawl to this area.

Kong Cave: After you get the hovercraft, ride past a set of rocks
below Funky's Rentals, then you'll see another set of rocks guarding a
patch of beach. Go over them to this area.

Bounty Bay: In the first lake of Cotton-Top Cove, swim straight up
from where you come in to get here.

Undercover Cove: After getting the Turbo Ski, go up the waterfall past
Kong Cave to get here.

Glacial Grotto: Push UP from Lemguin Lunge to get to Blizzard's
Basecamp, then push left.

Sky-High Secret: Visit Blizzard to get a present for Blue. Give the
present to Blue in Cotton-Top Cove, and he'll give it back after
opening it, because he has no use for a bowling ball that's too heavy
for him. However, if you take the bowling ball to Bazuka's Barracks,
in Mekanos, he'll launch you up to this stage.

Clifftop Cache: Buy the mirror from Bazaar's General Store for 50 bear
coins, then head to Barter's Swap Shop and trade it for the
wrench. You'll be able to buy it back for 10 bear coins later. Bring
the wrench to Bjorn's Chairlifts in Razor Ridge and he'll fix his ski
lift, allowing access to this stage.

Bramble's Bungalow: Any time after completing Razor Ridge, head right
from here to collect a flower, then head back here and enter. Give it
to the nice man who doesn't know a thing about the Genus/Species
classification system, and take the p "Bananus Goldenus Flutterus".

Sewer Stockpile: In Kaos Kore, Baffle is trying hard to solve a
code. You can give the mirror to him, but it's not necessary in order
to get the banana bird. It just tells you how. If you DO give it away,
he'll end up talking backwards. o.O Anyways, do a figure 8 around the
two stones in the lake, starting at the top of the left one and
heading right to open the sewer gate. Enter it.

After getting the Gyrocopter, you can access these last three, in any order:

Belcha's Burrow: Hidden in the hill almost straight south of Bazaar's
General Store.

K's Kache: Hidden on the little island in the lake you can't access
with a boat.

Hill-Top Hoard: In the upper-right corner of the map, above Razor Ridge.

After getting all the Banana Birds, head back to Wrinkly's Save Cave
and watch a cool little demo...oh, and your game is automatically
saved. Also, don't press anything until Cranky and Funky are done
their routine...trust me, you'll know when that is.
