giving me an example move, which enabled me to start deducing
everyone's attacks.
Left to do: remaining seen, but unknown moves. Find any other moves that
haven't been seen. Probably not for a long time from now.
This is just a faq/reference type thing that I'm tossing togather for
the Bastard!! fighting game for the Super Nintendo/Famicom.
Bastard!!, if you need an introduction to it, is a marvelous anime and
manga(Though I haven't read the manga) series based in a world turned
feudal after a large disaster tore it apart. It centers around an
'immortal' wizard named Dark Schneider, who 15 years ago tried to
conquer the world, but now(For various reasons I won't go into here)
fights to save it. The anime consists(So far) of six marvelously animated
OVAs, while the manga lasts for far longer, and reportedly gets
very bizzare. ;) While a very good show on its own, you can also have
yourself a little fun on the side trying to spot all the various
heavy metal references in the names and spells(And there are a -lot-).
Guys and girls both may enjoy the series, as it has as much fan service
with the male characters(Probably more actually) as the female ones, and
has elements which can cater to all tastes, from the high-action lover,
to fans of dramatics, to those who like slapstick humor.
When you start the game, you get an introduction of course, but you can
watch that yourself, so skipping to the main menu...
The first option is Story Mode. Here, you play Dark Schneider, and are
treated to cinemas as you go through your opponents. After a point, you
gain other characters to use.
2nd is vs. mode. You can choose 1 player vs. 2 player, or 1 player vs.
CPU, and choose any of the six characters to play.
3rd is team battle mode. Put togather a team of characters, somewhat
simular to vs. mode. Instead of showing which characters you pick, it
shows you a button letter over each character, and you press that button
to select them. ? marks will be shown in the lineup, so neither player
knows who the other player picked until they fight.
THE GAME

Unlike most fighters, Bastard!! takes place on a scrolling battlefield,
in a 3rd person perspective looking from -behind- one of the fighters,
as opposed to from their sides(Like SF2).
Keys
Direction Pad - Move left, right, up(Jump or fly).
L - Switch sides
R - Special
X - Fires a shot which curves upwards
Y - Fires a shot which curves left.
A - Fires a shot which curves right.
B - Fires a 'lobbing' shot(Arcs up, then down to hit position.)
Start - Pauses the game.
Select - ?
In the move descriptions for characters, a + sign means to press those
buttons at the same time.
The 'special' button has two uses:
One is(For some characters) to do attacks. Single-tap the button, unless
otherwise noted.
The second is to prepare spells/attacks. Press and hold, and then input
a key sequence, and release when finished. Unless otherwise indicated,
all key sequences below require you to press and hold the button before
inputting, and releasing after inputting.
Format:
[KEY SEQUENCE] - Spell Name(If known). Description of spell effects.
CHARACTERS

DARK SCHNEIDER
The legendary immortal exploder wizard, Dark Schneider is many things to
many people, though he's usually an arrogant, conceited jerk. :) Supposably
an incarnation of desire, he's extraordinarily well built(Like most of the
male characters), and often ends up taking off his clothing. ;P D_S
relies mainly on his vast repetoire of fire-based spells, and his immortality
(He keeps coming back after taking mortal injuries).
Shots - D_S hurls spheres of fire/magma.
Special - Double-tap and hold special button. DS will swipe his
arm and produce a large fireball, which can be remote-controlled
with the direction pad for a short period of time, or until you
get hit by an attack.
YBA - MAGNARD. Summons a blast of fire at opponents feet, from where it
splits off into two seperate waves, going right and left. This can
only be performed while on the ground.
??? - Fire off two fireballs which track and follow opponent.
YY - EXODUS. DS charges his body with fire for a very short time.
Follow up with side-change while still glowing to attack, does
damage only if you contact opponent during the change.
YBX - Either INTELIPERI or NAPALM DEATH. Fires off a dozen fireballs in
various directions.
YXABY - MEGADETH. Draws in energy and concentrates it into a
sphere of fire in the center of the screen, which then explodes,
hitting effectively the entire screen(Thus no way that I see
yet to dodge.).
Jump - Flies up and hovers, or lands.
GARA Stage: Plains Outside Metal-licana
Top floor of Ninja Castle
Becomes playable: After defeating him in Ninja Castle.
Gara is the leader of an army of ninjas, and one of the four
generals(Shitenno) who are out to conquer the world(And were previously
helping Dark Schneider with the same goal). When Gara asked D_S what his
goal in conquering the world was, D_S replied with 'My goal is to kill all
the ugly, gorrila-looking guys like you. Then I'll take the women in the
world for myself!', which wasn't his real goal, but sums up pretty well
what Gara looks like. ;) When he met D_S, he was a High Ninja of a small
country, while D_S and his army were roving the world laying waste to
everything. He voluntered to seek single combat, and travelled alone to
D_S's castle to fight him, and ask some questions of him. Gara lost, but
D_S took a liking to him, and gave him Murasame, thus gaining Gara's loyalty
(He already had Gara's admiration.).
Shots - Gara throws shuriken/throwing stars.
Special - Doubletap and hold down Special, and Gara brings his sword into a guard
position. If lined up with opponent, drags them to him,
grabs, slashes, and tosses away.
Special + Side-change - Charging slash.
Side change, Special - Press Special before completing the side change.
Charges forwards, then dashes back, and does the
special grab-slash-toss.
AYX - Hurls a larger set of throwing stars off to the side of the screen,
which boomerang back onto the top row.
AYB - Same as above, but returns on bottom row.
AXYB - After-images. Begins flickering back and forth in three different
places to confuse his true location. Cannot do other special attacks
while in this mode. Double-tap Special to quit.
ABY - Uses his Murasame blade to fire a whirlwind at opponent(Hits high and
low.)
AAAAA - MAJIN-KEN. Hurls an energy slash across the ground with his Murasame
blade.
Jump - Up and down, Gara can't fly.
KALI-SU Stage: Cloudbank
Kali-Su is a young man with a past somewhat simular to Arshes. He grew up
not knowing his father(Tho his father was not human, probably an ice dragon),
and falling under the ridicule of other children for his inhuman parentage.
One day something inside him snapped, and he discovered he possessed strange
and frightening powers, as he blew up children making fun of him out of
anger. Condemned by the village council, he was trapped inside a church,
until one night his mother came to him in tears and tried to kill him.
After being stabbed in the head, he blew his mother up in the shock.
A few years later, Dark Schneider, already travelling with Arshes Nei, came
across Kali-su near the ruins of a village. Though Kali-su's 'adoption' was
considerably less kind-hearted then Arshes'. He considered the boy his
property(And still does), and made it very clear that he intended to use
him as a surrogate body at need until he found his 'perfect' host.
Kali-su didn't mind this at all. If anything, it probably made him all the
more eager to accept D_S, because nobody'd ever needed him before.
Later, a slightly adversial relationship, probably due to jealousy of their
'father's affections, formed between Kali and Arshes, and continues.
Shots - Fires rings of ice.
Special - Drops a big icicle on his opponents position
Special + Side-change - Dashing attack, must be lined up with opponent to hit.
XBY - Shoots a sliver-thin icicle. Long-range.
XBA - Same as above, but short-ranged.
XBX - Same as above, but shoots towards opponent's position.
??? - Creates a blizzard, not sure what for.
Jump - Hovers up / lands.
ABAGAIL Stage: Ravaged plains outside
Metal-licana
Shots - Fires things that look like globules of cells.
Special - Nothing at all?
??? - Shoots the Anthrathax tendrils on his back into the ground, where
they rise up and attempt to impale opponent.
??? - Uses the Anthrathax tendrils to fire homing shots at opponent.
XBA - Fire twin shots high and low, that break towards whichever side
opponent is on. Short range.
XBY - Same as above, but mid-ranged.
XBX - Same as above, but far-ranged.
??? - Uses the Anthrathax tendrils to fire a wave at opponent that breaks
up and down.
??? - Same as above, but breaks right and left instead.
Jump - Hovers up / lands.
Abagail teleports instead of dashes when he changes sides.
ARSHES Stage: Forest
Waterfall
Becomes playable: After defeating her at the Waterfall.
Arshes Nei is a half-darkelf/half-human woman with a traumatic past. Raised
by dark elves, she was the subject of extreme prejudice because of her
halfbreed nature, and was beaten as a child on a nearly daily basis. When
a war broke out between wood elves and the dark elves that raised her, they
finally abandoned the young, frightened Arshes. Wandering her way to a
secluded lake, she met Dark Schneider by chance, and clutched onto his robe,
begging for help. D_S took her in and traveled with her, at first as father
and daughter, and later as lovers for one hundred years. Although she's sure
he only did it for fun at first, this meant the world to the young girl who'd
never had anyone care for her at all, much less treat her so well, and she
loves him deeply. She fights him, not for her ideals of a magic-controlled
utopia where children could have the peace she never did, but because she
is forced to by a spell cast on her by Abagail. If she does not obey him,
the spell(Accused) will shatter her body and turn her into a toad forever.
Shots - Throws ball lightning
Special - Doubletap and hold special, Arshes throws a large shot in the shape
of Thunderbeast Nue(The lightning elemental that inhabits her sword.)
Can remote-control the same way as DS's simular attack.
Special + Side Change - Dashing slash.
BXYA - Arshes slashes her sword in a triangular pattern, and creates two
walls of lightning, which head in the opposite direction of eachother,
high and low.
??? - Arshes leaps up into the air, and comes down on the opponents side
with a lightning-augmented slash.
BAXY - GEP-VADAR. Creates a lightning sphere linked to a dimension where
magical power is absorbed. Sucks in shots and some specials.
Lasts a limited amount of time.
???(Super) - Probably Riot or a spell I'm not aware of. Calls down three
successive lightning strikes from the sky.
Jump -Hovers up / land.
DI-AMON Stage: Moonlight night above a town
outside of his castle.
(This is probably a little inaccurate, as the only real information on
Di-Amon's past comes from the manga, which I haven't read, only seen
vague summaries on.)
Di-Amon is one of three members of the now disbanded Ghost Cohort, trained
by Arshes Nei. He's a vampire, but a self-made one, IE: stronger then your
run of the mill vampire, gains magic power by sucking virgin blood, and
isn't affected by more traditional anti-vampire things(Tho sunrise turns him
into a bat.). Being a nobleman, he's eccentric, and *very* egotistical.
Thinks of himself as the strongest and most beautiful creature in the world.
While he is kinda strong, he's also ugly as sin. He wants to kill Dark
Schneider to prove himself equal to Arshes and Kali-su.
Shots - Fires things from his eyes.
Special - Changes to bat. When in bat form, Di-Amon cannot change
sides or attack. He can fly however, and he -slowly-
regenerates.
Side-change - Change sides, and bite opponent if lined up.
Jump - Up/down in 'human' form, can fly in bat form.
??? - Assassin Whirling Attack. Di-Amon turns into a whirlwind ala Tasmanian
Devil and fires shots everwhere.
??? - Fires a set of dark discs. These can either break up-down, or
right/left.
??? - Fires a kiss mouth, which will float in place for awhile if it
misses the opponent. If hit, the opponent will be temporarily
paralyzed.
