    INTRODUCTION
o---------------------o

One of Sega's famous arcade games is on the Sega Master System in 3D. You will
need 3D glasses to play this game properly as you'll need it to judge depth a
little better when fighting the enemies. Unlike it's predecessor, this sequel
is not an isometric game. You view the level from behind the ship and everything
comes at you.

Update: Thanks to Glacaros for telling me that you can play the game in 2-D mode
by pressing the button on the console and going to the menu to enable 2-D.

With this possibly being my last month before parenthood I decided to call this
the beginning of "Operation Letters Will Fall" and the first to fall is Z. By
fall I mean that as part of the SMS Completion Project, there is one Z game left
to FAQ and I just took care of it. Others I got sights on is 4Pak AllAction (#),
Earthworm Jim (E), James Buster Douglas Knockout Boxing and Joe Montana Football
(J), Nekkyu Koshien (N), Xenon (X) is a maybe, Ultima 4 (U) is an "I don't know"

Note: You know what? I had planned to make a walkthrough but I'm going to make
this a general FAQ because everything is so redundant throughout the whole 9
levels with a few changes as levels go on so I will start with a thourough guide
through Level 1 and then I will list any changes. After level 9, your mission is
complete then it loops.

-You start off with N Shots and as you progress, you get the ability to shoot H
H shots and then M shots. One thing I've noticed is that N shots are red and
slower. H shots are yellow and faster. M shots are white and faster. The faster
bullets will also drain fuel faster so it's best to save the faster shots for
the inner arena. They also pack more punch against the bosses.

-Each level starts off with you shooting and enemy jets who will fly in random
patterns and shoot at you at least once before they fly past you. You have the
option of killing them or avoiding their shots altogether. If you are good at
shooting then you can go ahead and choose option 1 but if your aim is bad, then
choose option 2 as shooting will drain your fuel.

-After a certain number of jets, you will enter an inside arena which is a 3D
version of the Zaxxon that everyone grew and loved. In this spot, it's best to
fly low and shoot at all the turrents and tanks while you avoid the turrets'
shots. Shooting the tanks will refuel your tank. You will also have to fly over
or through openings in walls that block your flight. The last wall has a high
opening to fly though to get out of the arena. For wall that you are uncertain
of the spot, you can shoot the wall and whatever bullets go through, that is
where you want to fly through.

-Once outside of the arena, you will fight a boss. The first boss is a giant
jet that will shoot easily avoidable bullets at you. It will go down in only a
few shots.

-The second boss is the same as the first one except it will take more shots to
kill it.

-Round 3 will introduce a new enemy that skates back and forth across the floor
in the arena and there will be more walls than usual here. The third boss looks
like on of those Star Wars warcrafts. It fires average bullets just like the
first two bosses.

-In Round 4, the jets start attacking in bigger packs. When you reach the arena,
the low walls now have an electric barrier above them so shooting to find the
opening is recommended so you don't risk crashing into the electric barrier.
The fourth boss is the same as the third boss with faster shots and taking more
shots to kill.

-Round 5 has nothing much to talk about here except you will meet up with your
first missile launcher here. The fifth boss is a tougher version of the first
two bosses. It takes more shots to kill and its bullets are faster.

-Things start to get serious in Round 6. You not only have to deal with the jets
but now you got to deal with homing missiles that you must shoot with several
bullets to destroy. On top of that, more jets will come in from the rear to
challenge you. You face two missile launchers in the arena and the sixth boss
is the same as the third and the fourth.

-As of Round 7, the homing missiles can appear inside the arena and the boss is
the same as the first, second, and fifth boss except it will also shoot homing
missiles at you.

-Eighth boss is the same as third, fourth, and sixth and it shoots the homing
missiles too. It falls easily to M shots.

-Round 9 is the last unique level. The game throws the whole kitchen sink at you
and there is a nasty twist in the end. You fight not one, not two, but three
boss. The first two are exact same as the ones you've faced before and they
take more M shots and shoot homing missiles. The very last boss is unique. It
looks like a beetle with its wings spread. It shoots bullets and missiles but
falls easily to M shots. Mission Complete.

-The game loops from here but the difficulty increases.
