Button 2- hit a lob shot.

5) Game Modes
-------------
There are two different game modes in Wimbledon.

--------------------
5.1) Free Match Mode
--------------------
In this mode, you will play a single match.  When you select this mode, you
will be taken to a screen where you will need to pick if you want to face the
computer or a friend.

P1 vs COM- You against a computer player in a singles match.

P1 vs P2- You against a friend in a singles match.

P1,COM vs COM,COM- You and a computer player against two computer players in a
doubles match.

P1,P2 vs COM,COM- You and a friend against two computer players in a doubles
match.

P1,COM vs P2,COM- You and a computer player against your friend and a computer
player in a doubles match.

After you select one of the above, you will be taken to the character select
screen.  Choose a character.

On the next screen, you will have to choose the type of court...

Hard Court- Medium ball speed, high bounce.
Grass Court- Fast ball speed, medium bounce.
Clay Court- Slow ball speed, weak bounce.

..and how many sets your match will consist of.

1 set match- First to win six games.  Game scoring starts out at 0-0.  Scoring
goes- 0, 15, 30, 40, win game.  If you tie at 40-40, you will be in a "deuce".
In a deuce, you must score to get the advantage, then score again to win the
game.  If you get the advantage, but lose the second point, it's back to deuce.

You must win by at least 2 games to win the set.  6-0, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, & 6-4 are
okay.  6-5 is not, but if you win the next game to make it 7-5, you win the
set.  If it gets to 6-6 you will go into a "tiebreaker".  In a tiebreaker, the
player who is supposed to serve next, serves first.  He gets 1 serve.  After
that each player gets 2 serves then the other player gets to serve.  First to
7 points wins.  You must win by at least 2 points.

3 set match- Win 2 out of 3 sets.

--------------
5.2) Tour Mode
--------------
Tour Mode is a tournament consisting of eight players.

This is what the bracket looks like:

________
       |______
________|      |
________       |_______
       |______|       |
________|              | Champion
________               |_________
       |______        |
________|      |_______|
________       |
       |______|
________|

First off, you will need to name your player.  Then you will be able to see the
bracket that you will be competing in.

On the next screen, you will be given 15 attribute points to distribute between
three stats; Speed, Power, and Skill.  My suggestion would be to put 5 points
in each stat, to make your player balanced.

Each match consists of 3 sets of six games per set.

Good luck!

7) Game Tips
------------
This game is relatively easy, but can be frustrating at times.  Here are some
tips to help you defeat your opponent.

1) Always use your stronger shot when serving.  The lob will just give him the
advantage for the point.

2) When you are volleying, wait for your opponent to lob, then counter with a
smash to try to win the point.

3) Make sure to never give up many points (double faulting, stupid errors),
those could cost you the match.

These are my tips for Wimbledon.  If you have any tips, please e-mail me at
[email protected].  You will be given credit for your tips.

---------------
8) Tennis Terms
---------------
The following terms will give you a basic understanding the game of tennis.

Ace- Scoring a point by hitting the ball past an opponent on the serve.

Advantage- Winning the point on a deuce gives you the advantage.  Scoring when
you have the advantage wins you the game.

Alley- The space in between the two out of bounds lines.  This is only used in
doubles matches.

Baseline- The line that serves as the out of bounds line on the short sides of
the court.

Breaking the Serve- Winning the game when the opponent serves.

Deuce- When the game is tied at 40-40.  If you win the next point, you gain the
advantage.  Read the definition for advantage for more details.

Double Fault- When the server hits two incorrect serves (out of bounds, don't
make it in the opposite box, don't make it over the net, etc.).

Drop Shot- A softly hit shot that is usually played when the player is playing
toward the back of the court.

Lob Shot- A shot with high trajectory that is usually played by hitting it over
an opponents head when he's guarding the net.

Love- When the player has a score of 0.

Serve- When the server hits the ball into the opposite square to start a point.

Slice- A shot that has a lot of backspin.  It may also curve in the same
direction as you are handed (curving right if you're right handed).

Smash- When you hit an opposing lob shot with a lot of force.

Volley- When you hit the ball before it bounces on the court.
