                                Introduction

===============================================================================

Welcome to my twentieth Guide without a co-author.

I started playing this game for the SMS Completion Project and enjoyed it
enough to decide writing for it.  I also thought this game would be quick to
write for, although it took me more than the 1 day I thought it would take.
The game is a basic lightgun shooting game which is fun for about 2 hours.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this guide and the game as much as I enjoyed writing
the guide and playing the game.

01)                                Gameplay                              [RM01]

===============================================================================

Like almost every lightgun game for the SMS, the basic principle is just to
point at the target and pull the trigger.  This is also used to activate items
or pickup objects.

I would recommend that you focus your attacks on the enemies that appear first.
They seem to fire within the same length of time as stopping to take aim, so
you want them out of the way.  There are three times when you do not want to
attack the enemy.

1)        When missiles and other hostile bullets are heading towards you.
2)        When you spot a mine on the tracks.  This is generally near where you
stop to treat an injured solider.
3)        After a solider has been healed and drops an item.  Once you have
collected the first item, every other item can kill all the enemies
         on the screen.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
01A)      Level Differences                                             [RM01A]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jungle
¯¯¯¯¯¯
- All the enemies are on foot
- The first item dropped by a treated injured solider is a Helmit

Swamp
¯¯¯¯¯
- All the enemies are using jetpacks
- The first item dropped by a treated injured solider is a First-Aid Kit

Village
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
- All the enemies are on foot
- The first item dropped by a treated injured solider is a Gas Mask

Bridge
¯¯¯¯¯¯
- All the enemies are using jetpacks
- The first item dropped by a treated injured solider is a Fire Extinguisher

Ammunition Depot
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
- All the enemies are on foot
- The first item dropped by a treated injured solider is a Radio Transmitter
- Red enemies may fire green missiles, which can kill in one hit

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
01B)      Character Differences                                         [RM01B]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike - Beginner
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
As his description might suggest, you start out as this character.  He will
take a slow and steady pace to travel between injured soliders and to the exit.

Steve - Lazy
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Steve provides a faster ride to Mike, but does stop for a short period of time
in between reaching each injured solider.  Steve also stops shortly when he is
supposed to, even if the injured solider that should be there has been killed
before reaching his position.

John - Honest
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
John seems to be faster than Mike, but slower than Steve.  However, John will
only stop for injured soliders and when he is hit, unlike Steve.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
01C)      Difficulty Differences                                        [RM01C]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The main difference I have seen is that it appears that the enemies can fire at
the carriage quicker with the higher difficulty.  While this may not seem like
a big difference, the speed that the enemy can fire at you during the "Hard"
difficulty is actually a challenge to deal with.  I would recommend starting
with the "Normal" difficulty first to get a feel for the game, then move onto
the "Hard" difficulty when you feel you are ready.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
01D)      Scoring                                                       [RM01D]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shooting a bullet/missile                -     100 points
Shooting a red enemy                     -     500 points
Shooting a grey enemy                    -     100 points
Shooting a mine                          -     300 points
Saving an injured solider                -     100 points
No damage received in a level            -   1,000 points
Mike still alive at the end of the game  - 200,000 points*+
Steve still alive at the end of the game - 150,000 points*+
John still alive at the end of the game  - 100,000 points*+

* I am aware that the game does declare that Mike and John gets the opposite
person's bonus score.  However, if you complete the game with only John left,
he will only gain 100,000 points.

+ These scores are added together, depending on who survives.  If Mike is the
only person to die, you will only get Steve and John's set of points, and the
same goes if only John is alive at the end.

02)                                FAQs                                  [RM02]

===============================================================================

Q) What is the point of the first item you can pick up in each level?
A) I have no idea.  I have noticed that you loose the item for each person you
do not treat and the next treated person will drop the item again.  It might
just be an incentive to not shoot the injured soliders to progress quickly.

Q) What is the cut-off point to get "EXCELLENT" for each mark in the summary
screens at the end of the level?
A) Here is the closest values I could find:

Red Enemies (Killed)   = Either 35 or 36 should be the lowest amount of
kills needed to gain EXCELLENT status, although 36
                           is the lowest confirmed value

Grey Enemies (Killed)  = Between 118 and 128 should allow you to gain
EXCELLENT status, although 128 is the lowest
                           confirmed value

Green Soliders (Saved) = 7 or 8 will provide you with EXCELLENT status
