                            {1.0} Introduction
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Mickey's Ultimate Challenge is one of those games that very few people have
written a FAQ for, probably because it's so easy and isn't really something
many people will play. As part of the SMS Project on GameFAQs.com, I took it
upon myself to write up something for this game, which has been released on
four different consoles: Sega Master System, NES, Genesis, and GameGear. Each
one of these games are the same except for graphical changes.

In the game, Mickey appears in the kingdom of Beanwick. He has no idea how he
got there. It happened just as he fell asleep reading his book of fairy tales.
Beanwick keep having earthquakes, and it's up to Mickey to help them. You can
also play as Minnie in this game. Solve various puzzles in order to save the
kingdom.

                             {3.0} Walkthrough
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

At the very start of the game, you'll land on the castle. Enter the doors that
you see to play varius games.

===============
Sorting Books
===============
On the door to the left of the guard, you will arrive in a room where you must
sort books. Jump on the books with letters and if they're right, they will
appear in the gray bar to the right. In cake and medium modes, you'll have to
organize the books in alphabetical order. Cake difficulty startes you off with
a letter in the gray bar so you know what to do next. In medium difficulty,
you'll have to see yourself what comes first. Usually it's within the first
few columns of books. In hard difficulty, you must guess the secret eight-
letter word. It changes each time you play the game. I've gotten druggist,
peaceful, thousand, and announce, but I'm sure there are others.

You must arrange these books without landing on the ground. Once you land on
the ground, all your progress is thrown out the window and you must start
over. The word/letter order doesn't change though, so just step on all the
letters that you did before and you'll be all right. After completing this
task, you'll get a magic book of spells.

================
Moving Potions
================
Enter the tower atop the trees to the right to see Donald. Say that you'll
make powder and we'll enter an area that looks like a chessboard. Each time
you press a button on the directional pad, you'll move one square in that
directions. We must push the potions through the mirror at the end of the map.
However, we can't pull the potions, so make sure that you don't get them stuck
in a corner.

In cake difficulty, you only need to solve two puzzles. In medium, you solve
four. In hard, you solve five. If you ever mess up during the puzzles, simply
press the 1 or 2 buttons and the puzzle you were on will reset to its default
position.

==================
Dusting Pictures
==================
You play this game if you go through the main door of the castle. You must
dust off the pictures that match. It's a matching game. You must do it within
a certain time limit, which is the same for all three difficulties. The time
limit isn't exactly shown as a number, but as light. As the torch begins to
burn down, the room will get darker and darker. Once the screen is completely
black, Daisy will relight the torch. The picture locations will be the same,
but everything will be covered in dust again.

In harder difficulties, there will be more pictures. In hard, there will be
more than two of the same portrait. Just pick any two to match. Work your way
from the left to the right. Press Up to get on the ladder and B to dust.
There's no real trick to beating this if you have trouble. It's based on your
memory, and it's not something I can change. If you have a really big problem
with this game, I suggest that you see a doctor.

===============
Musical Pipes
===============
This game is located to the lower east side of the castle. You must tap the
switches in order to make the drawbridge outside lower. The pipes will light
up in order. Jump on them in the correct sequence. Like with the previous
game, this is something that is based on memory where no amount of tips can
really help you if you have something like short-term memory loss.

If you ever mess up, the game will flash and you'll have to start all over.
It will be a different order too. The only differences between the difficulty
settings is that the higher ones have a longer sequence.

Note that after completing this, the bridge will go down and you can cross
over to the small island. You can also go down on the ropes on the side of
the screen and take a boat instead of the bridge to the island. Pretty
useless, but hey.

=================
Goofy's Toolbox
=================
This is a guessing game. Goofy will list different tools on the left. You must
guess the order that he put the tools in his toolbox. You have seven tries to
guess the order of the four tools. If you get one right, Goofy will indicate
it by the number of green lights to the right. If you have two right, there
will be two green lights. In easier difficulties/levels, Goofy will tell you
which ones you got right by highlighting those tools. In harder ones, Goofy
will only tell you the number of correct tools, not which ones.

Although this is mostly luck, there is some strategy to this game. Start out
with something like four screws. If none are right, so something like for
wrenches. Let's say one is right. Do three screws and one wrench in any order.
If there is none right, switch the order of the three screws and one wrench.
If Goofy says there's one right now, then you must have gotten the wrench in
the right position since you know there can't be any screws.

The three difficulties don't differ much. In harder difficulties, Goofy
doesn't tell you where the correct tool's location is and you'll have more
puzzles to solve. You'll also have more tools to choose from.

==================
Exchanging Items
==================
After beating all the games and recieving the items, revisit everyone. You'll
exchange your items for magic beans. The magic book goes to Donald, the glass
slipper to Daisy, the gold bar to Goofy, the spectacles to the...uh, guy with
the books, and the mallet to Huey, Luey, and Duey.

When you get the five magic beans, go to the well across the drawbridge. There
will be a short scene there. You'll climb up the vine to the last puzzle.

=================
Sliding Puzzle
=================
Approach the giant to start the final puzzle. The higher the difficulty, the
more pieces there are in the puzzle. Use the D-Pad to move each piece in the
space that's open. It's the toughest puzzle in the game.

It's difficult for me to help here because the sliding puzzles start in random
places. Try rotating the pieces to get them where you want them to. Or you
can just randomly move pieces and hope for the best.

After this, watch the ending. Congratulations on beating this game!
