Welcome to my twenty-first Guide without a co-author.
This game was quite difficult to write for. Although it is just another soccer
(or football as I would generally call it) game, you have no team options and
no sort of league to deal with. It is just a 10 minute game of you trying to
score more goals than the opposition. This means that the main thing for me to
explain is how to play the game and give give some strategies.
Also, it is ironic that this guide will be submitted and accepted on the same
day as the 2010 South African World cup (GMT time).
Anyway, I hope you enjoy playing this game and reading this guide as much as I
enjoyed playing the game and writing the guide.
FIRST MENU
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
If you press the Start/1 Button on the player 1 controller, you will start a
1 player game. Additionally, you will also move onto the SECOND MENU.
If you press the Start/1 Button on the player 2 controller, you will start a
2 player game.
SECOND MENU
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Use the directional buttons to choose an option, then use the Start/1 Button to
select the choosen option.
AMATEUR - The easiest setting. The AI is slow and they can easily be tackled.
SEMIPRO - Normal difficulty. The AI can move at a normal pace and they try to
dodge any tackles coming from you.
PROFESSIONAL - Hardest of them all. The AI is fast and they will pass the ball
whenever possible, thus making tackling almost impossible.
MOVEMENT
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Use the directional buttons to move. You can move the player horizontally,
vertically and diagonally with the right set of directional buttons pressed.
PASSING
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Use the directional buttons to select the person you want to pass to (they will
have a grey arrow above their head) and then press the 2 button.
SHOOTING
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Behind the goal is an arrow that points at where you will shoot. This can be
controlled through the directional buttons. You can shoot with the Start/1
button. Additionally, you can curl your shots by using the directional buttons
after your player has kicked the ball away.
TACKLING
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
To tackle a player, just run at him and the computer will do the rest.
GOAL KEEPER
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Use the directional buttons to control his movement while you can see him.
If he does save the ball, you can control his passing and shooting the same way
as any other player.
- You control the player with the pink arrow above them. The person you will
pass to when pressing the 2 button has a grey arrow over their head.
- Whenever the ball is in your half and you can see your goalie, focus on
controlling him instead of tackling the player with the ball.
- A good way to score a goal is to shoot from one side to the corner of the
other side. In the harder difficulty games, this may be your only chance to
score a goal.
- Shoot outside the goal keeper's area as he will generally come out to grab
the ball, especially with the harder difficulties.
- In the hardest difficulty, move away from any AI player that got past you, as
you will not catch them.
