    INTRODUCTION
o---------------------o

Just my luck, I got another game I got to use the Sports Pad for and this time
it is for Great Ice Hockey. I already had to deal with the drama of Sports Pad
Football and now this. Thank goodness that Sports Pad Soccer was already taken
care of and I'll just FAQ this game to get it off the list for the SMS CP that
is coming down to home stretch and I can put this game out of its misery.

       OVERVIEW
o---------------------o

Welcome to the Big Leagues. Here's a rough and tumble hockey game that takes a
steady hand and quick reflexes. Because your mean opponents mean business. Teams
line up in full defense. Tackle one another. Scramble for the puck. Drive relen-
tlessly for a goal. Victory for your team depends on you. So you need sharp
techniques. Quickness. Power. And smooth stick-shifting ability. Show you have
the right touch, hit the puck straight into the goal. But just relax your guard,
and see why they call the game of hockey "wrestling on ice."

       CONTROLS
o---------------------o

Trackball to move your player in the desired direction. On defense, run into the
opponent to try to steal the puck.

Button 1 = Start Game/Shoot the Puck (roll trackball in desired direction first)
Make Goalie stay in fixed position.

Button 2 = Start Game/Pass the Puck (roll trackball in desired direction first)

        TEAMS
o---------------------o

You play as team USA in a 1-player game then go up against these teams in the
given difficulty order from strongest to the weakest.

USSR (now split up into multiple countries)
Sweden
Canada
Finland
Czechoslovakia (now split into Czech Republic and Slovakia Republic)
West Germany (now reunited with East Germany to become just Germany again)
Poland

You have the privilege of selecting either of the 8 teams in 2-player games.

      GAMEPLAY
o---------------------o

Choose a 1 or 2 player game. You need 2 for a 2 player game. If you try to play
this on an emulator, prepare for disappointment unless you have a compatible
controller to use.

Choose if you want to play in the Junior League or Senior League in a 1-player
then choose your opponent depending on how tough you want it.

Each game consists of three periods. In a real hockey game, the periods are 20
minutes each but here you can choose from 3, 5, or 10 minutes. Sorry no 20 min
option here.

As far as moving is concerned. Player 1 controls the guy with the yellow arrow
and player 2, if applicable, controls the guy with the green arrow. Whenever a
pass is made, a gray arrow appears to indicate who it's going to. When you are
in position, press 1 to shoot the puck towards the goal. Roll the trackball to
indicate where it'll travel.

There are no penalties in this game so the defensive players can rough until
their heart is content by moving the controller to collide with the person in
possession of the puck and try to steal it.

Whomever has the most points at the end of regulation will be declared winner of
the game but if the score is tied, an overtime period will be played and the 1st
player the score wins just like in real hockey. Unfortunately, this only applies
to the 2-player game. In a 1-player game, the computer will win automatically.
What a bummer. #-_-

In case you are wondering, Slap Shot is not really the control pad version of
this game. Sure the graphics look almost identical for the rink but everything
else is different.
