Buggy Run is about like the name says, it's a racing game pitting you against
three other buggy's. You are the blue buggy named Player 1 (since I couldn't
find an option letting you change his name) and you get to do options like
Championship mode, Single race, Time trial, and even Battle! (not exactly
named that, but still the same things). Alright, let's get started.

     1P MODE
********************

-----
Race
-----

This is the championship mode. A new game will give you $20,000, and an option
to buy parts, which you will be given before each race. After you finish that
up, you start you in the Beginner Level. You are given money for parts
depending on where you finish. $30,000 for first, $20,000 for second, $10,000
for third, and $5,000 for fourth. There are five races in each Level, and you
will be given a password after each level is finished. There are three levels,
Beginner, Standard, and Expert, though they aren't really that hard. Once you
win Expert level, the game ends, and you lose everything you earned. Kind of
anti-climatic, especially since you can access everything in the other modes
already.

-----
VS COM
-----

This is Single Race mode. Upon clicking button 1, you will go onto Driver
Select. This is where you pick the driver you will use. Finishing that you
will go into Course Select. At the top you choose the course you want. There
are 15 different courses to choose from, each of which you run into on Race
mode. Look course will give you a sneak preview of the course, watching the
computer cart go around the track. Then you can choose how many laps that you
can race, ranging from 3 laps to 20. At the bottom is the best times for this
session on that certain track. Then you go to the Tune-Up mode. You can see
what your computer chooses and go from there. However, the computer cheats,
and they get quite a few more points then you do. They can get 15-20, while
you only get 10. Choose wisely, as one of your few chances come from mines,
which leads me to the next thing, where you can choose your weapons, you can
choose either mines, or turbos. I suggest putting some turbos to get ahead of
the opponent earl, then mine him, which puts him behind a good amount. That's
all I can give, good luck with that, because I get all sorts of trouble with
this.

-----
FREERUN
-----

This is Trial Mode. A very good place to get adjusted to all the tracks before
you wander into Race mode. Here you can race alone, without the oppponent
bothering you. So it's a simplified VS COM mode. You can choose the track,
again, but for some reason, you can't change the number of laps you can race,
which kinda defeats the purpose of this mode, if you ask me. You can also take
a sneak preview of the track, like VS COM mode.

********************
     2P MODE
********************

-----
RACE
-----

Unlike 1P, this isnt a championship mode, but merely a single race mode. Take
it like freerun, except you choose 2 racers for you to race. After that you
choose a very limited about of tracks. There are four to choose from, Green
Zone, Water Zone, Snow Zone, and Magma Zone. To be honest, there is NO
difference between the two, except the area around the track, so choose which
you like. After that you are given $30,000 to buy parts. I presume then you go
through an unneccessary equip thing, then you start racing in an overhead
view.

-----
1P VS 2P
-----

In this one you have twelve tracks to choose from, still the same themes
though, just four to choose from. They are a very nice change from RACE
though, so thats handy to get the monotomy out of the way. You can also look
at the course for a preview of what you will be racing. You can also choose
how many laps you wish to run, anywhere from three maps, to 10. When that
finishes you go to tune-up mode, where you choose now much suspension,
steering, MIS, tires, and engine you want, but you only have 8 points so
choose wisely. You also have 2 weapon choices, between mines, and turbos, into
6 equip boxes.

********************
      BATTLE
********************

The most fun mode in my opinion, battle. You choose between one and two
players, and then you choose your drivers, then you get it on. There are two
maps, that are picked at random. One is shaped like an X, and another is in a
square. You try to knock each other into the lava on the outside of the map,
and the last one standing wins. Simple, but still entertaining.

--------------------
5. Powerups
--------------------

There are a few power ups you can get during 1P RACE mode, such as

Bag of money - Get this to earn a quick $5,000, or maybe even $10,000.

Red Nitrous - Gives you a temporary boost of speed

White Nitrous - Same thing, also gives you a boost of speed

Question Mark - Gives you either of the three prizes.

--------------------
6. Parts
--------------------

Info on the parts you can choose from during Race mode. All level 2 parts cost
$10,000, all level 3 parts cost $30,000, and all level 4 parts cost $50,000.

TIRE - Gives you better tires, for better traction. At level 4 you should be
able to go through puddles and stuff without much trouble

*****

ENG - Gives you more power in your engine, which means more speed. I recommend
maxing this out as soon as you can, it will help you a lot during the game.

*****

SUS - Suspension, which helps prevent bouncing and stuff, though I don't see
much of a use, since you don't really bounce that much anyway, but go ahead
and buy it, every little bit helps.

*****

STR - Steering, it helps you cut corners better throughout the course. Again,
I didn't notice much improvement after buying it, but go ahead and buy it.

*****

MIS - Actually, I haven't been able to figure out what this is for. But like
the last two, There's not much use for it as far as I could tell through
racing.

*****

MINE - Costing $5,000 each, it will let you lay a mine behind you, making the
car that runs over it explode, losing VERY valuble seconds. Handy, but I
wouldn't waste TOO much cash on it

*****

NITORO - Costing $5,000 each, it will give you a temporary speed boost. As I
find the game kinda easy, I didn't find a use for this, but go ahead and buy
some, it could come in handy for you.

*****

CTRG - Costing $10,000, it adds 1 slot to your item stash. As in if you buy
one CTRG, you can hold 3 mines, instead of two. You can buy up to a maximum of
four extra slots.

--------------------
7. Courses
--------------------

This will give a brief explination of each course

*****

COURSE NO.00 - Used in race 1 of the Beginner Level, this grassy area is a
simple rectangle squared track with a couple jumps on each of the
straightaways. Expect an average of around 10.5-12 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.01 - Used in race 2 of the Beginner Level, this beach area course is
shaped like a lowercase "d", with a few rocky areas on the left side of the
course, and a few jumps. Expect around 15 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.02 - Used in race 3 of the Beginner Level, this desert-based track
intoduces the S-curves, and it throws them at you right at the start. Other
then that, nothing really special, some jumps, rocky areas, etc. Expect around
18 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.03 - Used in race 4 of the Beginner Level, this snow course
introduces a couple new elements, a slanted racing area, and something I don't
understand, puddles. I mean, I understand its a hazard, but in a frozen
wasteland? Shouldn't it also spin you out? Oh well. Expect about 19 seconds a
lap.

*****

COURSE NO.04 - Used in the final race of the Beginner Level, this grassy
course doesn't introduce anything new, but it still poses a fairly decent
challenge, with quite a few turns, rocky strips, big jumps, etc. Expect about
23 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.05 - Used in race 1 of the Standard Level, this beach course, like
course 4, doesn't introduce anything new, and its actually a bit easier then
course 4. Not much to describe, just a standard course. Except for the return
of S-curves. Expect around 20-21 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.06 - Used in race 2 of the Standard Level, this desert course
introduces another obstacle, a hill in the middle fo the track, so you pretty
much gotta drive on the slope. It's really no big deal, though. Otherwise,
nothing real special to say about it. Expect around 23 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.07 - Used in race 3 of the Standard Level, this snowy course
introduces the ramp, that launches you WAY into the air and lands you safely
back on the course, its pretty fun to ride on. Expect around 22 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.08 - Used in race 4 of the Standard Level, this grassy area offers
something unique only to this course. The option to take two routes. One to
the left, and one staying straight. They both go through the same obstables,
just go with the one you feel more comfortable with, in the end, it doesn't
make THAT big of a difference. Expect about 16 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.09 - Used in the final race of Standard Level, this desert course
doesn't offer anything new or surprising, but its the longest one yet. The
biggest thing would be driving on the slope, while you very slowly move toward
the wall. Along with the usual obstacles, nothing big about it. Expect about
27 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.10 - Used in race 1 of the Expert Level, this snow course is about
the same distance as course 9. It's actually pretty easy to go through, since
there are less jumps here then in most courses. But there is a huge ramp,
which are always fun to ride. Expect around 27 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.11 - Used in race 2 of the Expert Level, this beach course seems to
have more slopes to drive on then the other courses, including one hill and a
slope also. But you should be careful, the hill takes me by surprise, it seems
like it should be a left turn, but its really a right. This screwed me over
the first time I raced it. Expect about 25-26 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.12 - Used in race 3 of the Expert Level, this grassy course is
pretty much a basic one, except for the more then average amount of
ramps/slopes/puddles. Otherwise, just your basic Expert level course. Expect
around 26 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.13 - Used in race 4 of the Expert Level, this beachside course is
nothing special, just a lot of rocky strips, puddles, jumps, etc. Expect
around 26 seconds a lap.

*****

COURSE NO.14 - Used in the final race of the Expert Level, this grassy course
is the last course in the game, and it pulls out all the stops. Plenty of
jumps, slopes, rocky strips, puddles. It'll keep you busy for a while. Expect
around 28 seconds a lap.
