    Welcome to my second Alex Kidd FAQ, which is based on the game Alex Kidd:
High Tech World.  I hope you find it useful.  Anyway, this game was released
after about four years since Alex Kidd in Miracle World was out back in '86.
However, High Tech World isn't a very great game comparing with the other AK
games released for various systems.

    Hopefully, you'll find what you want in this FAQ, and if you don't, don't

                                 02   Story

    A new Arcade place has opened in the next town of the one where Alex, the
prince, lives.  Alex was happy when he knew about that, but he didn't know how
to get there.  His mother told him that there's a map, which can lead him to
there.  However, it was cut up into eight pieces.  So in order to get there,
Alex should find those eight pieces of the map.  This is the story of Alex
Kidd: High Tech World.

                              03   Walkthrough

03.01   Collecting the Eight Pieces of the Map
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    From your position, move to the left, and enter the room.  Talk to Alex's
father, and he'll give you a fake piece.  Talk to him again, and he'll give you
the first, real piece.

    Now, get outside, and down the stairs to the left.  Now go right, and go
through first door.  James (someone who's inside) will tell you that you have
to take a test with Mary.  Now get out.  Continue to the right, and down the
stairs.  To the left of the stairs, there is a door, and Mary is inside.  Go
there, and you'll take the test.  The answers are: Tokyo, Vicel, 450, Athens,
5050, 206, 50, Lira, Mozart, and 5; you'll pass with all the answers correct.
Then, take the second piece.

    Go out, to the right, and up the stairs.  Go to the left (past the first
room), and enter the next room where James is.  He'll give you a burnt piece,
BUT DON'T TAKE IT.  Otherwise, you'll have a "game over."  Now get out, and go
down stairs (the ones to the right).  There is a phone to the right, and a
small phonebook nearby.  Go to it.  There's someone who's called Rockwell.  His
phone number was written in that phonebook.  Now go and call 123-4321.  After
calling, pass all the rooms, and go down the stairs to the left.  Go right
(past the door), and go down the other stairs.  Go to the room to the right of
the last stairs.  If the time passed 30 mintues, Rockwell will give you the
Restorer.  If you reached there too early, you'll have to go out then enter
several times until he comes.  Now return to James on the fourth floor.  Alex
will use the Restorer so that the piece will return to its original form.
You'll take the third piece.

    From there, go back to the first floor.  Now go all the way to the left
screen.  Here is the kitchen.  Do you see that last jar to the far left?  Hold
it, and you'll get the piece inside it.  That's the fourth one.  BTW, don't
forget to collect the Cloth here.

    Now go to the previous screen, that's the right one.  Go through the first
door you see.  Here, you'll play a game.  The answers of it are: Linda, Betty,
Janet, Cindy, Susie, and Kate.  Now get the fifth piece.

    Head to the third floor.  Up the last stairs to the far left.  Take the
ladder from the blue jar, and go back down.  Go right to the clock and use the
ladder.  Alex will change the time, and will get a piece of the map.

    Go right a little bit and up the stairway.  Go through the door you see.
John will talk with you.  Now head outside, then go downstairs again.  Go all
the way left and down the stairway.  Go right, passing by two rooms, then enter
the third one, where Barbara is.  After the talk, head out and go up to John
again.  Now go and collect the piece #7.

    Only one piece left.  Go to the second floor another time and pass by
Barbara's room this time.  Go through the one to its right.  Talk with Tom and
Mark.  Try many times until they give you the last piece.

    Now go to the fourth floor and head right.  Go up and take the Key from
the jar.  Now head to the fifth floor and go left.  Cross the bridge and go up
in the next screen.  Go to the safe and use the Key to get the Hang Glider! Now
go back to the bridge.  You'll use the Hang Glider to go out of that place.
Make sure to record your password somewhere.  BTW, "LgqaBOqMSa" is my password.

03.02   Ninja Forest
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Now the game becomes similar to Alex Kidd in Miracle/Shinobi World.  It's
time to kill those ninja bastards on your way to the Arcades.  BTW, you should
reach there before 5 o'clock.  Keep going forward and kill the ninjas.  Collect
the GP if you can, and be careful of the ninja who's above, as he can throw
some shurikens over your head.  Keep going straightforward, killing all the
ninjas, and you'll reach the red ninjas, who actually have bombs instead of
shurikens.  Just be careful when you encounter them.

    Continue on the rocks but kill the jumping ninjas as they jump, or you'll
be killed.  At the end of the pond, there will be a red ninja who's waiting for
you.  Kill him and kill the other ninja behind.

    Back on the way to the next village.  Kill all the ninjas and the bombers,
then go right to the next screen.

03.03   The Village
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    In the Village, there's a fast-food restaurant at the beginning of it.
They sell hamburgers, French fries, and soft drinks.  Nothing is important in
the next place.  The third one is a bookshop, which sells books and
dictionaries (I don't know the use of them).  The Antiques is very important so
get inside and buy a Backscratcher for 20 GP.  Go to Pawn Shop and sell it for
1,000 GP!

    Now go back to the temple (huge, green building).  And you should send
between 2 to 5 minutes praying exactly 100 times!  After that, someone will
give you the Travel Pass.  And this is the important thing.

    Go right and skip the houses (important note: the second one does have a
Pistol, but never take it because you'll get a "game over").  Talk to the guard
who's standing in front of the Check Point, and thanks to the Travel Pass, you
may pass through the gates.

03.04   Animal Forest
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    In this forest, kill all the running snakes and the ones above, 'cause
they can drop on your head and kill ya.  The problem is that there still some
ninjas.  Therefore, you should act quickly when killing both the snakes and the
ninjas.

    After that, kill more ninja bombers.  Move on the rocks and kill the
ninjas.  As you can see, there are some kind of bats in the air.  Be careful.
Continue going forward, killing everything in your way, and go on the bridge.

    Kill all the snakes and ninjas, then continue killing more bombers and
cats (or whatever).  Here, I recommend that you go on the trees, as this place
is really hard.  When you finish, kill the red ninja then go to the next screen
and...

    Alex has finally reached High Tech World (the name of the Arcade location)
and he plays OutRun!  Well, Alex says that Sega games are great (what a
promotion).  So this is the end of our game; Alex Kidd: High Tech World.  Now,
you can either play the game again and see if I missed a secret thing, or play
another game like Alex Kidd in Miracle World (also check my FAQ for that game),
or you can play a newer platformer called Alex Kidd in Shinobi World if you
like the way the ninjas act.  Until I have the chance to write a FAQ for it,
enjoy playing the classic AK games!
