------------------------------INTRODUCTION-----------------------------------


The Sega Saturn had some games about the great Evangelion. First Impression
was the first, and a bit later came this Second Impression. The intention of
these EVA games was to make an alternative episode: the named Episode X. First
Impression was only good, the story was funny, and the video so cool, but
the combat system wasn't great. This Second Impression has a good storyline,
excellent FMV, and really good combats. By the way, the girl for this game and
the new angel are so cool, great work by Sadamoto.

At the first times, it's so difficult to dominate the EVA correctly at the
combats, 'cause isn't explained well for an occidental user who don't know
Japanese, and the storyline, with all the decisions are so difficult, so it's
very possible that the first time that you beat the game, you'll obtain a
bad endings. Here, I put all the correct choices, and the way to manage all
combats against the angel. I'm no good with Japanese, so it's possible that
you can see some fails, forgive me for that.

-------------------------------COMBAT MODE-----------------------------------




The combats against the angel take another perspective. First of all, you have
two weapons against the angels, one of short range like the progressive knife
or the sword, and another weapon of long range, usually a fire weapon: hand
gun, bazooka, etc... in some moments of the game, you're able to choose your
weapon.

Well, you need to battle by turns. You attack with the EVA 01, and you're
supported by Rei's 00 and Asuka's 02, but the attack only in some cases. In
each turn, you need to choose an option of attack, or movement. The angel will
do his move, too. To choose your attack, there's a circle, with 4 quadrants.
The quadrants determine the weapons. For example, if in the 0 degrees position
it says "progressive knife", in the second quadrant you're able to use the
progressive knife. But imagine that in the 270 degrees the "Pallet Gun" is
marked. In that case, you're able to use your pallet gun if you push the
correct button at the third quadrant. Here's an example of that:

Then, now I'll explain the buttons configuration:

You have two weapon buttons, B & C, for the two weapons that you have
equipped. The button A is for movement, and the X Y Z are used for dodge
enemy's attack. At the right corner of the screen is detailed the four
options:

The button you choose is the action that the EVA will do. Then, if you're in
the Pallet Gun quadrant, but you press the P. Knife button, you'll use your
knife, but it's so possible that you will not do damage onto your enemy.


CORRECT USE:


The correct form to win the battle is, to use a fire arm or a short range
weapon at the correct time. In each turn, near the circle, there's a green
line, that guides you: use your weapon when you're at the green line only,
and use the weapon according to your quadrant. Sometimes, there's a red mark,
if you see it, try to push the correct button at the red mark: in that case,
the EVA will do a lot of damage, with the help of Rei or Asuka. If you
do that great damage, the enemy  will not attack you at that turn. Enjoy the
battle...






---------------------------WALKTHROUGH AND TIPS------------------------------




Press start at the main screen, and then, at the Nerv manual, select the
option 1, and the first option which is in japanese (it means new game).
Input your name (the upper right option is to change letters to occidental
writing), and start the game, you'll see usual Evangelion opening. I'm
going to put all the correct selections.

The game starts remembering the defeated angels, thanks to Gendou Ikari.
Thanks to that, you can imagine that the game takes place between chapter 10
and 11. Later, the typical morning at Katsuragi's house, with the loud voice
of Asuka.

At the school, Kensuke will ask you about the red mark in your face, and you
need to select the SECOND CHOICE, that means what isn't the case. Just after
that, when Asuka is coming at your back, select the FIRST CHOICE.

At class, a new student will introduce herself to Shinji's class. Then you
need to select what will be your looking: select the FIRST CHOICE, look at
Megumi, the new student.

Later, at the sports playground, select at what girl will you look: SECOND
CHOICE is for Megumi.

When Shinji will be at classroom, he need to select where he will go, the
correct choice is the FIRST CHOICE, go to the library. At the library you'll
meet Megumi, and shock with her. Help her to pick up her books with the
SECOND CHOICE, and after that, select the FIRST CHOICE.

An angel will appear, so Nerv will take place now. When Misato is planning
the attack strategy, select the FIRST CHOICE

Now, you're at combat against the angel. You are supported by Rei with her
EVA 00. At battlefield, just before the combat, select the SECOND CHOICE,
that is short range attack. Start the combat, and try to do some damage to
the angel, but not a lot, you need to keep your position without doing
great damage onto the angel. I you do that, at some moment Ayanami will be
attacked seriously by the angel just after the decision of the weapon that
you can use (the hand gun and the active sword works great). Now, when the
angel is attacking Rei, Misato will order you to help her, but in that moment
you'll see Megumi at the battlefield. Choose the SECOND CHOICE, what is to
move Megumi away from the fire range. Now, defeat the angel with the best of
you. Then, you'll win the first encounter against the angel.


at night, trouble-minded Shinji needs to think about the situation. First,
select the FIRST CHOICE to think about the angel, and Megumi...then select
the THIRD CHOICE, to think about Megumi.
At morning, select the FIRST CHOICE to decide going to Nerv. When you meet
with Megumi at the street, select the FIRST CHOICE: Shinji will say that
Megumi really like books. The next option will be the SECOND CHOICE, what
means that Shinji read a lot of books, too.

At class, Asuka will contact to you 'cause the teacher is asking her a school
problem and she don't know the answer. She'll contact with you thanks to
your portable school computers.

A few moments later, at music classroom, Kensuke, Touji and you have a
problem: you need to play some music for a festival, but you don't have a
singer. In that moment, you need to select the FIRST CHOICE, which is to
invite Megumi to sing with us. Kensuke and Touji will ask it to her, and
you need to select now the SECOND CHOICE, that is to say that you will enjoy
her singing. Megumi sings very well. Then, Aeba will appear, and help you
with the guitar, 'cause Misato told him about your band.

The festival will go cool, but in the best moment, the angel attack Tokio-3.
Asuka and you need to go quickly. When Asuka ask you about Megumi and the
angel, select the FIRST CHOICE. At the battlefield, choose the FIRST CHOICE:
long range attack. Use your best against the angel, using the combined
attack with Rei (stopping the cursor at the red mark). If you're doing it
well, Asuka will shoot some missiles to the angel, and the angel stops its
activity for a moment. In that moment, Megumi and Hikari will appear. Megumi
has something to tell you: it looks that the angel and Megumi are connected
by some kind of way. If you kill Megumi, the angel will die too (sorry if I
said any error, but I can't understand japanese well). Then you need to
select if you want to kill Megumi or not. This is your last decision, choose
the FIRST CHOICE, and you'll tell Megumi that you will defeat the angel with
the EVA 01.

Now, return to battle at night. You will attack alone, and first of all you
need to select your weapons: the Active  Sword and the Pallet Gun are a
good option. Destroy the angel, try to not fail any chance. At one moment,
if the angel is winning, EVA 01 will enter in berserk mode and this will be
your last chance, but if you're winning all the time, Asuka and Rei will join
you anther time, and the last steps of the battle will be with them. If you
stay cool, you'll defeat the angel rather quickly. Now, go on in battle!!!



If you had done all correctly, you'll watch the cool good ending. There's a
lot of endings, from an ending of a defeated Shinji to this good ending. And
there are a few ways to obtain the good ending, I mentioned here one of them,
but the others are very similar paths. Try to obtain all the endings, all of
them are so cool, and some are so strange (there's an ending of Megumi trying
to make suicide).


Here's all the selections to obtain the good ending. All selections are
wrote in the walkthrough:


 -01. SECOND CHOICE: Say that it isn't the case to Kensuke.
 -02. FIRST CHOICE: When Asuka is coming.
 -03. FIRST CHOICE: Look at Megumi in class.
 -04. SECOND CHOICE: Look at Megumi at swimming pool.
 -05. FIRST CHOICE: Go to the library.
 -06. SECOND CHOICE: Help Megumi with her books.
 -07. FIRST CHOICE: At library.
 -08. FIRST CHOICE: Attack strategy.
 -09. SECOND CHOICE: Short fire range.
 -10. SECOND CHOICE: Move Megumi away from fire range.
 -11. FIRST CHOICE: Think about the angel.
 -12. THIRD CHOICE: Think about Megumi.
 -13. FIRST CHOICE: Decide to go to Nerv.
 -14. FIRST CHOICE: Say to Megumi that she really like books.
 -15. SECOND CHOICE: say that you like books.
 -16. OPTION C: When Asuka ask you the teacher's question.
 -17. FIRST CHOICE: Invite Megumi.
 -18. SECOND CHOICE: Talk to Megumi.
 -19. FIRST CHOICE: Asuka's question.
 -20. FIRST CHOICE: Long range attack.
 -21. FIRST CHOICE: Don't kill Megumi.

 Then, if you have finished the game, the next time you can skip the
 videos, start a new game, and then select the 2nd option.
