I...Foreword

With the imminent release next year of Panzer Dragoon Orta for the
Xbox I've decided to revisit the classic Panzer games with some new EnemyZero
Online faqs (not that the old ones are bad, CjayC's for Saga helped me out
immensely back in the day). The Panzer series is one of my favorite series of
all time and I wish more people would have experienced it's universe...
hopefully the rumors that Sega will remake the games for the Xbox are true.
These Panzer Dragoon guides are designed to be the ULTIMATE source for
info on the games including the most complete storyline info. ANY HELP FROM
THE PANZER DRAGOON COMMUNITY WOULD BE GREAT. Email any storyline info that I
may have missed, with everyone’s help maybe we can start to complete the
Panzer Dragoon timeline that's been neglected since Team Andromeda disbanded.

II...Storyline
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The best part about the Panzer series to me is the storyline of each
game and how they intertwine with each other. I don't believe any other
company would make a relatively short game like the Panzer games and take the
time to flesh out such an awesome setting and universe. Every last detail has
been worked out and they even made a timeline that goes back about 90 years
BEFORE any of the games. The storylines for all the games are extremely
intricate and best of all, emotional...even the shooting Panzers. I only hope
the legacy can live on with MULTIPLE new Panzer games (after Orta) including
a new RPG (like Saga) so we even get to see more of the universe I love so
much...
IIa...Storyline ***TAKES PLACE BEFORE THE ORIGINAL PANZER DRAGOON***
**SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
Thousands of years have past since a once thriving human race was
pushed to the edge of extinction by their own bio-weapons, genetically
altered creatures of their own creation who eventually turned against them.
Humans live in constant fear and struggle with the creatures endlessly, just
trying to regain some of their lost power.
After many years the humans began to adapt to their new lifestyle and
tamed some of the more docile creatures, such as Coolias which were small
harmless creatures used for manual labor and as single rider transportation.
The villages that raised the Coolias had an extremely strict set of rules
regarding the creatures as many mutant Coolias were being born with a strange
blue-white light in their throats and, not taking any chances, were instantly
killed by the villagers. They were believed to be a bad omen and very
dangerous.
All that were born were killed...except one...
A young man named Lundi has secretly gone against the village code and
raised a mutant Coolia with the infamous blue-white (it looks green to me)
light. He couldn't bring himself to kill the young Coolia and even gave him a
name...Lagi. Lagi was also the first mutant Coolia that Lundi had seen that
had a second mutation...wings. When Lagi was born it had tiny budding wings
which were now growing bigger as Lagi grew at an alarming rate. Lundi dreamed
that maybe someday he and Lagi would fly in the air together and go on wild
adventures and he could show Lagi to his village and convince them not to kill
mutant Coolias anymore. Unknown to him his dream was about to come true.
One day when Lagi was older and stronger, Lundi took him out to test
his wings on an outcropping near his village called Elpis. Over and over Lagi
tried, running faster and faster, sometimes picking up a gust of wind and
gliding just above the ground. On one try Lagi picked up tremendous speed and
nearly lifted completely up off of the ground when a great white flash of
light engulfed Elpis Village ahead, leaving nothing but rubble when it
subsided. They looked up to see an enormous white ship directly overhead,
now turning and flying away. Lundi had seen various Imperial battleships
fighting in the sky from a distance before but nothing like white craft before
him.
Lundi didn't know why the ship destroyed his small village but he did
know what he needed to do. Lagi let out a sad cry and fired mythical "light
arrows" from his throat at the ship to Lundi's amazement. Lagi was more
special then he even imagined. He also knew his dream of an adventure was
about to come true.

III...Level guides
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The biggest tip for getting good shot down %'s is to actually watch
the radar more then the screen. As soon as you see a yellow dot on the radar
rotate around to it an blast it out of the sky, continuously watching the
radar for any new blips. You're going to have to be fast in your camera
rotating, which is another other key, because it often moves slowly or not at
all if you press L or R twice too rapidly. Try to play through every level
multiple times before you go for a total 100% game and MEMORIZE it, try to
have your camera rotated towards the next enemy group BEFORE the enemy even
appears and shot it down as fast as possible. Memorize, memorize, memorize...
A slight strategy for Panzer Zwei ONLY is to just take the easiest
route. If you're just going for 100% on every stage then don't worry about the
Route Points and take the easiest route with the least amount of enemies. Or
you can be hardcore and still do it by taking the harder routes...
IIIa...Episode 1
IIIa1...Story details
**SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
Without any second thought Lundi and Lagi decide to follow
the enormous white ship that murdered so many of his friends
and family with the simple task of revenge on Lundi's mind.
Their chase took them right through the rubble of the village
where Lundi found a working gun among the wreckage. After
entering the village a mysterious dragon showed up and then
attacked Lagi, clipping him in the air after taking flight
to chase after the white ship. Was the other dragon
protecting the ship?
A little before the attack on his village in the Empire's
Capital City of Teito, the Emperor had decided to make his
move and chase the mysterious white ship that had also been
sighted by them for reasons only the Emperor knew.
It was later theorized after an investigation that the
Shellcoof, the name that was given to the ancient white ship,
seemed to react to the presence of all the Coolias in the
village and attacked them. Later the Shellcoof was also
basically accepted as being a floating Tower and the Guardian
Dragon was it's protector.
IIIa2...Level guide - The Destroyed Elpis Village
Episode 1 is a basic starting level with no real tricky parts
or points (Clear, Route, or Tech) to earn. So just fool
around and get used to everything if you have never played
a Panzer game before.
Right when you get control of Lagi nail the 4 flying guys in
front of you then use Lundi's gun to destroy the shed on your
right. Throughout this whole level there are a ton of
destroyable items that give you points, sheds and wind mills
and stuff like that so anytime you have a chance to nail
something do it. There is a cool secret way to get tons of
points on this stage but I'll tell you about it later.
After walking forward a little more 2 more flying enemies
will be in front of you with another shed to the right again
and 2 straight ahead near where one of the flying things
was.
A few more steps afterwards a cinema will happen and the
dragon will fly in front of you and up to the Shellcoof,
dropping a huge boulder behind you. As soon as you get
control again keep hitting the boulder with your regular gun
(you face it automatically) until it blows up. In it's wake 3
more flying guys will fly out of where its center was so be
ready and use your laser on them.
Lagi will run for a little while longer between some
buildings then get to a slightly open area in which there
will be 3 more flying guys flying around a shed.
Keep facing forward and shoot the stationary enemy that will
appear before you. These enemies take 6 lock-ons to kill
and they only have 2 lock-on points each so you'll have to
lock-on to it 3 times to kill them (the Hatchling's max
lock-on is 2). After it's destroyed quickly switch to the
right view...see that big black ship in the sky flying past
you? That's your gold mine. Quickly turn forward and kill the
next 2 stationary enemies that appear ahead of you then
IMMEDIATLY switch to your left view and shoot your brains
out, nailing the black ship with as many regular bullets as
possible and watch the score (if you have full instruments
turned on in the options) grow. Watch your radar because
there's going to be another stationary enemy appearing in
front of you soon so take a break and kill it then return to
shooting the black ship.
For the entire rest of the level just keep shooting the ship
nonstop. An enemy will appear ahead of you but you can't hurt
it (it's the Episode 3 boss) and it won't hit you so don't
even look, just keep shooting the ship. Stage over.
IIIb...Episode 2
IIIb1...Story details
**SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
Revenge was the only thing on Lundi's mind. Deciding to
follow the ship no matter what he began his chase which ended
up going straight through a Meccania encampment. After
defeating a Transport Ship that bared their path they took to
the skies above a forest.
IIIb2...Level guide - The Great Canyon near Mecca Encampment
As the level starts you're facing the rear and 3 groups of 3
burrowers will jump out of the dirt at you so kill them with
lock-ons then quickly turn to the front view. Start shooting
your regular gun towards the general area of where the Canyon
walls and the ground come together on the left side ahead and
watch as your bullets magically go through the wall and
destroy the tents on the other side that you can't see yet.
When you get to the corner where the tents are have your
lock-ons ready in your front view because 2 fighters are
about to fly out of the left canyon in front of you. Nail em
then continue shooting in the general area of the tents to
make sure you get them all. As you pass the left canyon where
the fighters flew out of a Coolia rider will run at you so
use lock-ons and kill him (it takes 3 lock-ons). By the time
he's dead a fighter ship will probably be on your radar right
above your head so just let it fly ahead of you (keeping your
view to the front) then kill it. IMMEDIATLY after it's
destroyed though switch to the rear view and kill 2 more
fighters that will fly in from the back. Switch to the front
view and you'll notice a fork in the path up ahead...your
first Route decision. Stay to the right for the easier Route
1 or stay left for Route 2.
0 Route Points - Route 1 - Right after Route 1 starts there will be a tent to
your front-left and as you pass it another rider will run out
in front of you. Up ahead you will see 2 more tents on the
front-right corner so shoot them as soon as you see them and
get your lock-ons ready around the same area. About halfway
towards the tents 4 fighters will fly from where the tents
are to the left side of the screen so be ready and lock-on to
them all before they go by.
After your dragon turns the corner there will be 3 fighters
coming straight at you in the distance so deal with them then
wait for a second. 2 new fighters should have showed up on
your radar behind you but don't switch your view because they
fly overhead and are easy kills when they're in front of you.
As you move forward 2 more fighters will fly in from the
front. Lagi will then begin to glide then land at the bottom
of the gorge.
After you land and run forwards a little 2 stationary guns
will appear on the top of the gate ahead so shoot them with
lock-ons and keep your view forwards because 2 groups of 2
fighters will fly in from your rear to your front so move
your target just slightly to get them all also. BE AWARE the
stationary guns take 2 lasers to kill so make sure you target
them twice.
As you get closer to the gate another fighter will fly ahead
of you and almost at the same time one will bust down the
gate and fly at you, both can be hit at the same time from
your front. Once through the gate a single stationary gun
will be up on the wall straight ahead so hit it twice. Right
after it's gone 3 fighters will fly in from almost exactly
where the gun was and then 2 will fly in from the left
passageway to your front, you have plenty of time to shoot
down the 3 then the 2. Immediately after that to your
front-right will be an archway with 2 stationary guns up high
and cannon in the middle, they all take multiple hits so be
fast and get ready. BEFORE you pass through the archway there
should be some blips on your radar so move your sight
accordingly and target them through the wall, in classic
Panzer style. The blips are another cannon on an archway
ahead and one fighter. Once through the archway there will be
a bunch of stationary guns and another cannon on the
front-right side with 4 Imperial airships way in the
distance. 3 fighters will also zoom towards you about halfway
through the passage also at which point you can target the
Imperial ships in the sky, 1 laser will kill them all.
After turning the next corner there will be another Imperial
ship on the ground in the distance with a bunch of mounted
gun all around it so start firing away as fast as you can. 3
fighters will fly in from your rear to your front so don't
change your view when their blips appear on the radar. After
going through the archway, keep shooting the Imperial ship
and keep your view forward! Nail the stationary guns on the
walls when you can but make sure you nail the fighters that
will keep flying in front of you because they're only on the
screen for a few seconds. They ALL fly in front of you so as
long as you keep your view forward and shoot fast you should
get them easily. This is a good place to use your Berserk
attack if you want. When you start to get near the next
archway a bunch of Imperial ship will appear in the sky again
and 2 fighters will fly straight down and turn up towards you
right before the archway. Keep your view ahead and they
should die pretty quickly. A couple more stationary guns
later an Imperial battleship will fly from your front-right
to your front-left so keep unloading lasers. As you turn the
corner following the battleship a single fighter will fly
from the rear to your front and follow the battleship so kill
it also.
After the gate ahead blows open you'll enter another area
with a giant archway ahead with some heavy rotating cannons
on each side that you will have to fight. RIGHT after you
enter this area there are 4 stationary guns on the walls, 2
on each side, and 2 fighters flying in from the front-left
that you should deal with then after you get close to the
archway 3 more fighters will swoop down towards you so be
ready. When the archway cannons start attacking just keep
using lock-ons and dodging back and forth to avoid it's
bullets. You shouldn't get hit at all as it's bullets are
ready easy to dodge or shoot down. After moving through the
archway 2 battleships should appear to your right but don't
shoot them, they're invincible and don't even show up on your
radar. They'll fly in front of you and cause your view to be
obstructed by their dusty wake and when it clears up, boss
time. **END OF ROUTE**
1 Route Point - Route 2 - Right after Route 2 starts there will be a tent to
your front-left and as your going by it another rider will
run out in front of you so be ready and kill him. Get your
lock-ons ready straight ahead as 2 fighters will fly at you
followed by another VERY FAST group of 4. Around the next
corner 2 more fighters will fly at you and after they're
dealt with switch to your rear view because a final group of
5 fighters will fly at you from there.
Once in the air (yeah!) you'll fly forwards a little bit and
then a group of 3 fighters will appear to you front-right
followed by a group of 3 more to your front-left followed
again by a group of 3 to your rear. Switch to your left view
and laser another group of 4 that fly out from behind a rock
formation then quickly switch to the front view and shoot
down 4 more that will appear ahead of you.
After flying a little more, 3 more fighters will attack
straight ahead of you then immediately switch to the right
view and shoot the group of 4 that will appear there. After
they're gone there should be 2 small battleships to your
front-right so kill them as fast as possible, I recommend
using your regular gun on EVERY battleship in this area to
kill them quickly...your laser doesn't seem to cut it at this
point in the game. If you make quick work of the small
battleships then switch to the left view as 4 more fighters
will appear there soon. If you can't destroy the small
battleships quickly the group of fighters from the right
should fly in front of you so nail them then.
Get your lock-ons ready to your front-left afterwards because
a huge fleet of fighters (17 of them!) is going to fly out
from behind a rock and you'll need to kill them quickly so
none get away. After the last one is dead quickly switch to
your front-right and kill the battleship there as quickly as
possible (again, I suggest using Lundi's regular gun). 2
fighters will fly in from each corner of the front view
(whether you've killed the battleship yet or not) but just
keep your sight in the middle because they'll all fly right
past you for easy locking-on.
Switch to the left view and kill the 3 smaller battleships
that appear there with your regular gun, shooting any bullets
that they fire at you. They should die pretty quickly then
switch to your front and kill the 3 fighters that will be
there in the distance.
Switch to the left view again and await the arrival of 2 more
battleships. Do your best and kill them quickly, they are the
last enemies before the stage ends and you should have easily
gotten 100%. **END OF ROUTE**
IIIb3...Boss - Transport Ship
This boss is really easy, the only challenge being killing it
quickly for a higher score (if you're trying for a high
score then try to shoot any debris that fall from the
transport ship throughout the battle as they all give you
bonus points). He flies onto the screen from behind the rock
formation to the front-right of the screen so have your sight
ready and let loose the lasers when he appears. Just keep
locking-on and lasering at all times and you should be able
to beat him and get a good time. When he first appears he'll
fly really close to you to the front and 2 cannons will open
up on it's belly. Shoot them and any bullets they shoot at
you with your regular gun then use lock-ons again when it
starts to fly to your rear.
While it's at your rear 3 side guns will fold out so keep
using lock-ons and make sure you're hitting the guns
every time to fire your lasers. After the 3 side guns are
destroyed the ship will fly to your left then your right,
finally stopping to the front and firing more bullets from
its rear cannon. Just keep shooting and dogging and it'll die
soon enough.

IIIc1...Story details
**SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
Being chased by a squad of ships, Lundi and Lagi entered the
forest below to escape. Some smaller ships followed them down
into the forest and were able to attack, though
unsuccessfully.
During the trek through the forest Lundi was attacked by
strange black ships and a terrifying creature called a Golia
Hunter. The black ships and the creature certainly weren't
Imperial ships, where did they come from and why?
Later Lundi realized that the Imperial's actually weren't
chasing him...they were after the white ship too. The Golia
Hunter and black ships were also assumed to be another type
of Guardian for the ship.
IIIc2...Level guide - Inside the Hidden Forest
You'll start out with your view to the left and 4 flying
enemies in your sights so kill them immediately but BEWARE
because they all take 2 (TWO) laser blasts to kill so make
sure you hit them twice. Soon a group of 3 of the same type
of enemies will appear to your front-left so do the same to
them then turn your view forwards. A combo ship with 4
lock-on parts will fly out ahead of you followed closely by
another one so have your lock-ons ready and move the target
horizontally along them to ensure you get all 4 lock-on
points the quickest. Right after the second combo ship
another will appear to your front-left then another to your
left. Quickly move your sight to the front again as 2 more
combo ships will appear ahead of you in the same pattern as
the initial 2 that you already killed. Keep your view ahead
and 3 of the flying guys should appear now and fly ahead of
you, easy kills. Another group of 3 will appear to your left
but don't switch the view at all, just keep it ahead because
the new group will fly under you to your front-right so wait
and kill them there. Now the semi-tricky part...2 groups of 3
flying guys will appear ahead of you as well as the part
where you decide which route to take, left for Route 2 or
right for Route 1. This part is tricky because while your
trying to kill both groups of enemies you can accidentally
choose a path you don't want so pay attention! Try to use
lock-ons to kill the group of enemies that is to the
front-OPPOSITE of the route you want to take. If you want to
take Route 2 to the left then kill the right enemy group as
fast as possible and sharply turn your dragon to the left
until the words ROUTE 2 appear above your score, then kill
the remaining group of enemies once your on the route.
0 Route Points - Route 1 - After flying for a few seconds 4 of the weaker
flying creatures will fly in front of you so laser them then
move your sight to the front-left. A line of 4 more of them
will appear there so be quick and kill them. After flying a
little more a worm will jump out of the ground ahead of you
but pay attention...hit the worm with one round of lasers
then quickly switch to the rear view as 3 flying guys should
appear there. After their dealt with the worm should have
moved to your rear also so fire away. Try to kill it as
quickly as possible or the next worm will jump up and you'll
have to fight 2 at once. After the first one is dead stay in
the rear view even when the next one shows up on the radar
because he will pass under you and popup behind you
eventually. Deal with him the same way, as quickly as
possible. A third one will pop out from your front-right and
fly to your right as well as 3 more flying creatures so make
sure you don't miss them. After the third one is gone switch
to your left view again as yet another one will appear there,
closely followed by another 3 flying creatures. After it's
gone switch to the front view and kill the single flying guy
there then move the view to the left as 4 flying creatures
will appear to your front-left, be ready for them. **END OF
ROUTE**
1 Route Point - Route 2 - 2 groups of 2 weaker flying enemies will fly in
front of you from each side followed by 4 more afterwards
which are easy kills because they're all in front of you and
they only require one laser blast to kill. Lagi will then
start running instead of flying again and one the infamous
black ships from the first level will fly overhead. This is
definitely the hardest part of the stage because the black
ships have high health and a lot of smaller flying enemies
will fly in while you're fighting them so be SURE to watch
the radar and ANY time you see new yellow blip you make sure
you destroy it before you go back to shooting the crap out of
the black ship. You should use Lundi's gun on bottom part of
the black ship then lock-ons for everything else, the enemies
that fly in from the sides and all the things that the black
ship itself releases. The ships that the black ship releases
that jump back and forth COUNT TOWARDS YOUR SHOT DOWN RATIO
so make sure you get them. Keep plugging away and if you
think you need to use your Berserk attack if you fall behind
and get overwhelmed. A second black ship will fly in which
attacks in the same pattern so do everything over again,
watching the radar for new yellow blips. **END OF ROUTE**
IIIc3...Boss - Golia Hunter
The Golia will jump in and land at your rear then jump again
and land to your front, at which point you can start shooting
him with lock-ons. He'll start to run around you from your
left to your right then when he leaves your right hand side
and runs to your rear he will fire a spiral of bullets at you
which you should shoot down. Once at your rear he'll jump up
into the trees above and to the front of you. Just follow the
trail of falling leaves with your sight and keep locking-on
to him. While he's running above the trees he'll drop "cones"
sometimes that will land in front of you and shoot a stream
of fire into the air, burning you if you fly through it.
These do also count towards your Shot Down Ratio so nail em
with lock-ons.
After you hit him enough he'll fall back down and continue
running in front of you so keep shooting. He should jump over
you to your rear again then run to you right, then to your
front, then to your left. When he gets to your left he'll
jump and fire another stream of bullets which you should
shoot down ASAP then switch to your right view where he's
going to land and shoot some more bullets at you as he runs
to the rear again.
He'll then jump back above the trees and fall down ahead of
you, flailing his arms around which can hit you so be
careful.
He'll then jump back into the trees, this time hanging down
from them like Tarzan, dropping some more cones once and
awhile. Keep hitting him and he should drop down to the
ground again rather quickly.
He should be about dead right now, if not then he will jump
down again and throw a "boomerang" tusk at you that you'll
have to dodge. Keep shooting and he'll die soon. if you do
destroy his tusk while it's in the air you get some extra
points.
AFTER HE'S DEAD he'll stand in from of you and fall apart
with bullets falling out of his mouth onto the ground. Aim
your sight right at this mouth and keep shooting because
you'll still get points for every bullet you shoot.

**SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
Lagi and Lundi then entered an ancient ruin at the edge
of the forest, not knowing of the hidden danger inside in the
form of it's ancient guardian that rested in the dark waters
of the ruins and it's other defensive creatures which were
believed to have been activated by the presence of the dragon
or the white ship. The ships nor the Guardian could match the
power of the mysterious dragon however and were soundly
defeated.
After exiting the ruins Lundi found himself over the
Georgius, an endless and snowy lake region near the Empire.
IIId2...Level guide - Ancient Forest Ruins
As soon as you start out there are 3 ships in front of you so
deal with them quickly as 3 more are about to jump out of the
water ahead of you. IMMEDIATLY AFTER THE SECOND GROUP pull
your dragon sharply up for Route 3 or don't do anything to
enter Route 1. Route 2 is only available later on in Route 1
as well as ANOTHER Route 1 which I labeled Route 1.1.
0 Route Points - Route 1 - Your dragon will turn down a tunnel with a white
doorway ahead with a single ship behind it so shoot it down
before the door even opens and do the same for the next
doorway because there are 2 more enemies behind it. When you
start to fly forwards again there are 2 enemies at the end of
the hall that turn down a tunnel as you follow so kill after
you turn downward and kill another single ship on the other
side of yet another white door ahead. After going through
another doorway 2 enemies will be waiting followed by 2 more
at the very bottom above the water ahead.
Immediately as you level out again over the water 3 ships
will pop out of it ahead and then decision number 2...if you
want Route 1 again stay towards the middle. If you want Route
2 (and 1 Route Point then turn sharply to the right side of
the screen. **END OF ROUTE**
0 Route Points - Route 1.1 - Your dragon will fly down a narrow hallway and
right when you get out on the other side there will be 2
ground enemies to your front-right so kill them then switch
to the right view where 4 more enemies should appear. After
that switch your view to the front as 2 ground enemies will
jump across your screen laying mines. Nail em then point
your curser to the horizon. 8 ground enemies will surround
you in a circle so keep switching your view around and nail
them all. The platform Lagi is standing on will start to
rise.
Numerous break targets will start descending past Lagi so
shoot away and eventually a hanging guardian will appear to
your left, right and rear so start shooting away. There's no
real trick hear, just keep shooting and use a Berserk if you
need to. After mysteriously phasing through a floor and
moving forward again there will be 2 ground enemies in front
of you and 2 to the rear, don't worry about the ones to your
rear because they'll eventually move in front of you. 2 more
show up in front of you so deal with them too. Just as your
about to turn down a tunnel ahead 3 ships will fly in front
of you and join 2 other in the tunnel you should just be
turning down. Kill them all and keep moving forward. **END OF
ROUTE**
1 Route Point - Route 2 - As soon as you turn down the Route 2 passageway a
door will open with 2 ships behind it so be ready. After
another left turn 2 ships will pop out of the water in front
of you followed by a quick upward turn by your dragon. Up
ahead there will be a white doorway with 4 ships behind it so
shoot them down before the door opens. PAY ATTENTION!!! After
you go through the doorway a SINGLE ship will fly really fast
by your screen up ahead and you only have about half a second
to lock-on to him and get him so BE READY. After that you'll
turn and the screen will go almost black for a second. After
flying ahead a little a huge swarm of fish guardians will
fall into the water ahead. Use lock-ons and nail them all in
the water. If you let them live long enough they'll start to
jump out of the water and hit you so be quick. As you fly
through the doorway (and the light level returns to normal) 2
slow moving ships will pop out which are easy kills.
After a bunch of quick turns you will enter a large room
where 12 or so ships will gradually pop out of the water in
front of you and shoot bullets at you. Just keep your view
forward and this shouldn't be a problem. After going through
a doorway 2 more ships will pop out followed by a hall with
hanging shields from the ceiling. Quickly destroy them as
another ship will jump out right after them. After turning
again 2 more ships will pop out and a door behind them will
open up, unleashing a group of 2 more which turn down the
hall your about to turn down. Kill them and enter another
room with a couple more hanging shields and another round of
enemies popping out of the water like the last room.
2 turns later there will be 2 ships at the end of the hall
which you will turn downward in right before you reach them
so kill them quickly or you'll fly right past them and miss
them. As your descending there will be another single ship
that you must kill before you fly past it and miss it
forever.
4 ships will appear behind you but wait and shoot them when
they're in front of you where they'll be joined by another
ship from the front. Wait and hit all 5 at once. **END OF
ROUTE**
2 Route Points - Route 3 - Immediately after going through a door 2 ships will
pop out of the water to your front as you pass a third ship
floating stationary in the middle of the tunnel. Don't shoot
your lock-ons until you get all 3 in your sights and kill
them all at once. After you pass the point where the
stationary ship was floating a single ship will fly out of
the water in the middle of your front view so be ready. After
starting to turn the next corner another ship will fly up and
there will be another stationary ship in the middle right so
nail them both. Again, right after you pass the point where
the stationary ship was 2 more will jump out of the water in
front of you. After that there will be a long hall ahead with
a total of 4 enemies that jump out of the water to your front
and 3 that fly in from the side passageways that you'll fly
past. They'll all fly in front of you so they're not to hard
to hit but you have to be really good with your lock-ons and
have good anticipation.
After another left turn there will be a hallway just like the
last one with one difference...a couple of the ships that
come in from the sides will stay stationary and are only
in front of you for a second MAX so deal with this hall the
same way as the last one but concentrate on the side ships,
the front ones will stay on the screen longer for you to
shoot.
At the next turn switch your view to the rear before your
dragon turns again because the next time he turns 3 enemies
will be behind you so be ready. Keeping your view to the
rear, 3 more ships will fly out of the water which are easy
kills. Still keeping your view to the rear, your dragon will
make a couple of sharp turns down some vertical tunnels then
enter another hallway which IMMEDIATLY a swarm of projectiles
will fly at you from the rear so keeping locking-on and
firing. There are so many of them you probably can't hit them
all before they fly past you so be ready to switch to the
front view as the last of them goes by to hit any ones you
missed. Switch to the front view.
Two turns later, 3 new ships will fly out of the water in
front of you as you turn then your dragon will fly down a
tunnel then down another. As soon as you're moving forward
again 2 of the new ships will fly out of the water in front
of you, followed by 2 more then followed by 1 more. As your
about to pass through the doorway up ahead another single
ship will jump out at you so kill it and try not to hit the
door, it doesn't open all the way.
You'll start to fly down a tunnel again and 3 enemies will
fly in from your rear to your front and if you're quick you
can lock-on to all 3 as they're in front of you. IMMEDIALTY
after that 3 more ships will be in appear in front of you so
nail them then quickly switch your view to the rear. After
going down another tunnel there will be 2 enemies behind you
as you start to go forwards again, followed by a group 3 out
of the water. After a turn 2 more will fly out of the water
to your rear and you'll fly down yet another tunnel. After
the tunnel 2 ships will be at your rear, followed closely
again by a group of 3 then a final group of 2. QUICKLY switch
your view to the front to avoid flying into 2 sets of doors
up ahead. In the distance ahead 3 ships will be appearing so
be ready and get them as your dragon turns downwards through
another tunnel. There will be a white door ahead followed by
another BUT BE READY, directly behind the second white door
there are 3 ships so deal with them as soon as the door
opens.
One turn later, right before another door 2 enemies will jump
out of the water to the front which are easy kills so don't
worry. **END OF ROUTE**
***ALL ROUTES CONVERGE AT THIS POINT***
Your dragon will then turn down a hall with blue shields
hanging from the ceiling up ahead. Use lock-ons and shoot
them all, knocking them into the water (they count towards
your Shot Down Ratio). A single enemy will pop up after you
pass the place where the blue shield were hanging. Your
dragon will turn sideways and fly through a narrow hall with
a bridge of floating platforms going straight off into the
distance. Keep your sight ready with lock-ons aimed towards
the end of the floating platforms as a final row of 10
enemies will appear at the end, way in the distance.
IIId3...Boss - Randodoula
The boss will appear under the water and swim around you for
a little while, finally stopping to your front-left and
jumping out of the water to your front. Use lock-ons and hit
him as many times as you can before he jumps back into the
water. He'll swim around a little more then stop to your
rear, right or left, and jump out of the water again,
floating in the air and shooting bullets at you. Use lock-ons
again but shoot any bullets he fires at you.
After you hit him enough he'll become agitated and swim
under the bridge of platforms to your rear, chasing you from
under the water and knocking the platforms away. At this
point use your regular gun and keep firing nonstop THROUGH
the platforms and you'll be hitting him every time he pops
out of the water to knock another platform away. When he gets
hit enough, he'll float stationary and shake for a little bit
before his next move so keep shooting him as he's shaking and
his health bar should be under 50% now.
After he shakes he'll swim underneath the platforms, past you
and then jump into the air to your front, destroying the
bridge. Keep using lock-ons as he falls back into the water
then jumps up once more, landing far in the distance. He'll
swim around in the water now with only a small part of him
above the water to shoot at so try your best to shoot it.
When he swims close to you (almost underneath you)fly to the
opposite side he's on because he's about to swing his tail
out of the water and hit you. He usually does this twice then
swims forward again.
After he swims forward he'll go under the water and release
some pink floating probes around his head and the trick is TO
NOT SHOOT THEM. Just keep using your regular gun, shooting at
his head, totally ignoring them. If you shoot one of them
they will turn into 4 fast moving bullets that home in on you
that aren't to hard to dodge but it's best not to even have
to mess with them. If you don't shoot them they just
harmlessly fly away. Keep hitting him and then he'll...
Jump in the air again floating in front of you, shooting some
continuous lasers around at you. I find it best just to use
your Berserk attack at this point which should finish him off
fine, you can get through the next level without needing your
Berserk attack so just use it now. If you don't want to he
basically keeps doing the same pattern now until he's dead so
fight away. He will sometimes launch a couple of probes
around him that shoot laser at you but they're not very hard
to kill or kill them then concentrate on him again.
Once he dies and floats in the air ahead of you, blowing up.
You can keep shooting his tail with lasers to net some more
points or if you do a Berserk and hit him enough he'll
explode in the air.

IIIe1...Story details
**SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
As soon as Lundi and Lagi flew over the Georgius they saw a
squad of Mecca ships get destroyed by the Shellcoof as well
as a new Guardian being released which turned it's attention
to them. A fierce and long battle ensued over the calm lake
but again the dragon was just to powerful for the Guardian.
With the Guardian out of the way there was only the Shellcoof
left to deal with. With a heavy heart Lundi pointed Lagi
towards the ship and knew now was the time to face their
destinies...
IIIe2...Level guide - Georgius
Right when you start out the guardian in front of you will
release some probes and fly from side to side which you
should immediately start shooting with your regular gun, do
NOT use lock-ons. If you use lock-ons it will release a blue
energy shield that will absorb your lasers before they reach
him. Keep nailing him with the regular gun and try to hit the
blue probes as they fly past in front of you, dodging the
line of bullets they fire as they go by. You can't shoot
faster enough to hit all of the probes bullets so don't try,
just dodge. Keep shooting him and the probes will eventually
die. After the probes are dead the ship will start to fly up
and down, releasing 3 green probes that then expand into a
web of smaller green probes. As your shooting the ship try to
shoot out a few of the green probes so you can fly through
them without getting hit and if you want points, try shooting
them all. He'll die soon enough.
After it's gone switch to your rear view and put your sight
near the center of the screen. Right after the screen starts
to get white a single ship will fly up to the middle of the
screen so nail him. A second or two later a group of three
will fly out around the same place so kill them too. After
that another group of 3, more widely spread out, will fly up
so nail them then IMMEDIALTY lower your sight so it's almost
straight down as because a big group of 8 will immediate
appear below you. Try your best and get them all then quickly
switch your view to the right because another group of 8 will
fly out from almost underneath you there too. Yet again
IMMEDIATLY after that switch to the front view as another big
group will fly out in front of you. A final big group will
fly out in front of you again, if you fall behind just use a
Berserk if you have one.
After the second group to the front of you position your
sight to your front and slightly to the right. I line of the
enemy ships connected together will popup form the water
there and if your sights in the right place, you will lock-on
to them all easily. After you lock-on to ALL the lock-on
points then fire BUT NOT BEFORE THEN! If you don't hit ALL of
the lock-on points then the remaining ships will split off
and start flying around being a real pain in the butt. They
will also split apart if you wait to long which is not cool.
Another "snake" of them will appear to your front again,
slightly to the left, then a final one directly in front of
you.
IIIe3...Boss - Shellcoof Guardian
Easiest boss in the game. The KEY, however, is to use your
regular gun, NOT lock-ons, and to NOT shoot the shield that
revolves around him. If the shield floating around him gets
destroyed it triggers his second form which is extremely
annoying and hard. By keeping him in his first form the
entire battle you don't have to worry about any of his other
attacks, he just flies around you counter-clockwise and fires
some homing bullets once and awhile. Just keep shooting him
and he'll die eventually.
But for those that like it the hard way his other patterns
are...
Once you destroy (by shooting too much) his shield he will
fly to your rear and float from side to side shooting big
pink energy balls at you. They are REALLY hard to dodge
because they move back and forth as they fly forwards and
they also make it really hard to see because they take up a
lot of the screen.
In its next phase it'll fly around and shoot it's body at
you. Just keep dodging and firing and then after you
die...beat him using the easy method next time.

IIIf1...Story details
**SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
Getting close to the Shellcoof above the cloud line the dark
dragon from his village flew past them without attacking and
flew to the Shellcoof's underside. What was it doing and why
didn't it attack yet?
Despite being terrified of the power of the ancient age,
Lundi and Lagi launched an all out offensive against the
ship, attacking it head on. While fighting off a seemingly
endless onslaught of ships inside the flying Tower they
eventually made their way to a hatch on one side and
destroyed the Shellcoof's rudders on one side, severely
limiting it's ability to maintain altitude but not
completely disabling it.
Once exiting the Shellcoof onto it's underside, there was
something that looked like an cocoon hanging from it. Getting
closer to examine it, it cracked and revealed the flying
Tower's guardian, the Guardian Dragon, in a new form
awaiting a final showdown.
IIIf2...Level guide - Assault on the Shellcoof
Right when you start out two hatches will open ahead of you
and 4 jumping enemies will hop out, kill them immediately.
Then keep your sight ahead to shoot out 2 mounted guns on the
deck just after the hatches. Blips should immediately appear
on the radar to your rear-right so quickly switch views and
shoot the 2 mounted guns and 3 airships that fly up over the
side. keeping your view to the rear, as you pass the hatches
the rear-right one will release 3 more jumping enemies and
after their gone quickly switch to the front view again,
there should be 3 mounted guns to the front-left and a ton of
blips up ahead. I hope you have a full Berserk gauge because
this is where you should use it. You'll fly forward a little
more and some destroyable flaps will popup ahead of you to
the front-left and front-right, two on each side. Right after
they popup a group of 3 airships will fly past the front of
you from the right and then another flap will fold out in the
middle. After the middle flap is gone another will popup
right behind where the first one was then...use your Berserk.
If you don't have a Berserk attack just try to hit
everything...there are 2 mounted guns on each side of the
front view and a swarm of airships will come charging out of
the Shellcoof's entrance. Keep firing and hope you get
lucky...
After you enter the Shellcoof you'll pass through a door
with 6 airships on the other side so deal with them. You'll
fly forward a little then turn and at the end of the new hall
there are 3 mounted guns so kill em. After turning again
there will be 2 airships flying at you right before another
turn into a hallway with 5 mounted guns in a circle around
it. A couple turns later there will be a group of 8 airships
which you can lock-on to before you see them through the
walls as soon as you see them on the radar so watch the radar
closely.
After another turn you'll fly through a door then you'll end
up outside of the Shellcoof, behind some of the rudders.
There are 3 rudders and a bunch of mounted guns and missile
launchers to the front-right. Lock-on to your maximum amount
and fire away, concentrating on the guns and missile
launchers before the rudders. The missiles that the launchers
fire are easily dodged or shot down so do whatever you want.
After the guns are gone keep shooting the rudders until
they're destroyed.
Once back in the ship your dragon will take a bunch of turns
then start to descend downwards while 3 airships fly
downwards in front of you. Use lock-ons and they’re gone.
When you start moving forwards again there will be 3 airships
waiting down the passageway so deal with them too.
After a turn or two there will be a group of 6 airships ahead
to deal with. After that your dragon will descend a little
then move forward again down a hall filled with airships and
the ship exit on the other side. Use lock-ons and you should
be able to kill all the ships before they fly past you. Once
outside QUICKLY shoot all the cones you see ahead hanging
from the bottom of the ship then turn to your rear view and
destroy the 3 airships that should be there. Quickly turn to
the front again as a hatch has opened and let out 3 of the
jumping enemies. A few more ships will fly in from the rear
so pay attention...this part is really easy to miss an enemy
on. Just, again, be quick with your camera changes and if you
get to far behind use your Berserk because you won't need it
for the boss.
IIIf3...Boss - Guardian Dragon in Cocoon
At first there will just be an egg looking thing ahead of
you so start locking-on and shooting until the dragon peaks
it's head out and it's health bar appears.
During the first attack it does it will shoot a green
continuous laser out and release 3-5 smaller ships below it
to throw at you which can be locked-on to and shot. Flying in
a circular motion can usually dodge the green laser just
fine but be careful to anticipate where it's going to
start...sometime it starts with 2 beams on each side that
meet in the middle and sometimes it starts with a single beam
at the bottom and moves up. RIGHT after the green laser
stops, it will fire out groups of yellow bullets and some
blue ones that ALL home-in on you at different speeds,
throwing your dodging off a little. All of these can still
be dodged in a circular motion. He just alternates his
attacks now so keep shooting...

IIIg1...Story explanation
**SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
The Guardian Dragon, after morphing inside of the cocoon,
emerged in an awesome new form, darkening the clouds below
with its ominous shadow. A battle of legendary proportions
then took place with the Shellcoof slowly losing altitude
and falling below the cloud line.
2 powerful dragons...only one could be victorious...
IIIg2...Boss - Guardian Dragon
1st Form - Wow...The Guardian Dragon will start out right in front of
you so as soon as you start get the maximum lock-ons and
laser away. He'll fly towards you a little then fly away and
turn around, at which point you should fly sharply to the
left to avoid his green plasma wake. You can keep locking-on
and hitting him if you aim right but don't touch the green
stuff.
He'll move toward you again, still facing away, and puff out
his "feathers" and then fly to your rear. Stay in between his
"feathers" as he goes by or they'll do damage to you. Once
he's behind you he'll fly around for a second then fly to the
lower corner of your rear-left and launch a steady stream of
ships at you. Ignore the Dragon and use your regular gun to
shoot the ships down before they hit you, keep slamming on
the button and follow along the stream until they're all
gone. He'll fly in front of you again and do the same thing
all over again, this time stopping straight to your rear to
launch the ships out.
After he moves to the front again, he'll float in the
distance for a few seconds then PAY ATTENTION! He'll start to
make a weird noise then fly forward really fast and swing his
tail up doing A LOT of damage if it hits you. The best way to
dodge this is to try and stay towards one side then as soon
as you hear him get ready immediately fly to the other side
and wait there to do it again. He does it 4 times then...
He'll turn around again and start slowly flying away while
shooting a bunch of blue bullets out after him. Just stay to
one side and try to keep locking-on.
After he stops again he'll fire a long pink homing laser out
of the end of each of his "feathers." You have to be fast to
dodge them and the best way, again, is to dodge in a circular
motion. After shooting the pink lasers he'll start to fly
under you but don't do anything because he flies right back
to the front of you and fires another round of the pink
lasers and then him flying forward while shooting out the
blue bullets also.
He'll face you again then turn around and let loose his green
plasma wake attack again, avoid it in the same way as before
but be ready when he's done!! RIGHT after he stops using the
green plasma attack the screen will flash white and he'll
launch a bunch of the pink lasers at you again. QUICKLY dodge
in a circle BUT DON'T STOP MOVING! More pink laser will fire
straight out of his tail at you, followed by another white
flash and some homing ones out of his "feathers" again.
He should be almost dead now but if not he'll start the
entire pattern all over again so keep at him until he dies.
2nd Form - After the Guardian Dragon's outer shell breaks away its old
form is revealed so hopefully you have some health left...and
a Berserk attack.
At first the Guardian Dragon will just fly around ahead of
you which makes it easy to get a lot of lock-ons and take a
good chunk out of his health before the fighting gets
intense. Just try to stay away from his green plasma wake as
it still does damage to you and dodge when he flies
directly at the screen, trying to ram you with the energy
bar on both sides of him.
He'll fly around for awhile, trying to run into you or get
you to fly through his plasma wake then eventually he'll
stop, turning and firing bunch of his homing lasers at you.
Yet again, dodge in a circular motion and you should be
fine.
After that he'll fly around VERY erratically, firing one or
two homing lasers at a time at you so dodge around and he'll
die pretty soon...if you have a Berserk use it...

IIIh1...Story details
**SPOILER WARNING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
The Shellcoof was still airborne after its rudders were
destroyed so Lagi used the last of his life force to destroy
it, sending it crashing down into the Georgius, after
teleporting Lundi safely to the ground. Images of the future
and past flashed through Lundi's head, but what did it mean?
Lundi later entered the Shellcoof's wreckage and found the
remains of Lagi embedded within the hull, deep in the depths
of the endless halls...his throat still glowing. Maybe Lagi
still had some life left...? Somehow Lundi knew Lagi would be
back someday so he decided to make preparations.
Lundi eventually joined a small group of people called the
Seekers whose ultimate goal was to destroy any new Towers
that appeared. Lundi chronicled his journey and left diaries
and notes for any new dragon riders that might come after
him, still not knowing what the images that flowed into his
head from the dragon really meant.

left, rear, right, front, front-bottom, front, then
front-top.
Stage 2 - Enemies will appear: rear-left, front, rear-right-top,
rear, rear-left-top, rear-left-bottom, front-top,

Stage 5 - Umm, this level sucks. Your dragon will fly forward this
stage. The best bet is to switch your view to the
rear and shoot the enemies when they fly there as they
all appear ahead of you then fly to your rear.
Stage 6 - A one on one battle with an extremely long worm in the
sky. Just keep shooting...

The first time I played Panzer Dragoon at a demo unit in Toys R Us I
was absolutely blown away by everything about it, much to the annoyance of my
mother whom I bugged NON-STOP to buy me it. I only had Guardian Heroes for my
Saturn at the time and too young for a job so eventually she bought it for me.
I love you Mom!
