1. Introduction.
I kind of bought this game on a dare because I didn't
know it existed when I first saw it in a store one
day. I read the box and saw it was a fighting games,
but wasn't made by Sega, Capcom or even Namco. I
almost didn't buy it because it was produced by
Acclaim and had enough games from them. I can't beat
up Acclaim, though because I like X-Men: Children of
the Atom and Alien Trilogy, games they released.
Anyway, I took the chance and purchased Battle
Monsters.
Despite the poor graphics and other minor flaws, I
enjoy this game very much. The game play is almost
like Samurai Showdown, it has digital graphics like
Mortal Kombat and it has characters similar to
Darkstalkers. This FAQ I made describes each
character, shows the basic moves and explains the
special moves in this game. Enjoy.

Tapping u, u/f or b/u twice causes a double jump. You
can even direct your second jump the opposite way from
your first jump.

C=TAUNT/reserve mana
LEFT SHIFT=makes characters dash left on screen.
Forward if character faces left, back if facing right.
RIGHT SHIFT=makes characters dash right on screen.

X, Y, Z=Special jumps. Makes characters jump on
ledges or other staging areas above them. Can jump to
higher levels but not back down.

not very powerful or hard to do, there are some that
would make a win in almost every round.

You get to play not one character, but two. These two
twins, who almost look like cavemen with clown make
up, are lethal, when you rely on their arcobatic
abilities and not just their power.

although he looks more like Micheal Myers from the
movie, HALLOWEEN. He's big and powerful, but also
moves slow and lags in recovery. If you can play as
Zangief of Street Fighter, you can easily handle this

He appears on a flying carpet and can fly up anywhere
on the screen. seconds later, he'll start to decend
then land back on the ground.

Rolling Bomb u/b, B, B
He'll the Magical Carpet, then hit B button a second
time and he'll jump off and land on the ground with an
exploding crash. He'll cause damage if he lands on
the opponent. Hard to aim and does not cause much
damage.

Charge Ring Receiving offense after b, f, B
He duck his head down a bit and waits. If the
opponent hits him, they switch places in a white flash
and the opponent gets the damage. Works only with
close attacks and not projectiles.

Mana Up A+B (keep pressing)
He streches his body up and glows, getting his Mana
level up. You can hold the button down to get
complete Mana, but he'll be left wide open for an
attack.

Waves his wand and swarms of little Kap Kas on magic

LA PA
La Pa is suppose to be a living doll. This Barbie
wanna be dresses up like a pixie and dances like a
ballerina, but her moves are lethal and meant to hurt
her opponents, not treat them like dancing partners.

NAGA
Naga is your typical Medusa. She carries a big snake
to use as a weapon and can also change into a powerful
two headed, two tail serpent.

Stage: Underground
Takes place inside a cavern. There are four platforms
that can't be destroy. Two on the left side, two on
the right. A boulder appears on either the top left
or right platforms that can be knock off and run over
the screen, striking the fighter if it's in the way.
There are also stalactite that can be knock off and
cause damage if it hit a warrior.

Shion is a samuri warrior, who weilds a big sword

THE BIG 4

WANT, THEN PROVE YOURSELF IN THE FIELD OF BATTLE!
After you defeat all 12 monsters (including the one
that mimics the character you're playing) you're taken
to the last stage to face the final boss (that is,
bosses) known as the Big 4. You fight in a 4-8 bouts,
beating each of them only once, while they have 4
chances to defeat you.
Stage: Palace of Spirit
Nothing much here. Just an arena, with all the
characters' tribe around, watching. You can also see
Kap Ka on a carpet and Albiola flying above (even if
you are playing them).
LEVIATHAN
The water man-demon. He can shoot water blasts either
directly at the opponent or many in all directions at
once. His upper body can strech out to hit you
causing many damage.
SALAMANDE
Demon made of fire. Can shoot firebolts and has a
mean flying kick with multi-hits.
JINNEE
A demon who is almost invisible. You can only see his
outline, which is not much. You can only see him a
short bit when you hit him. He's quick and also has a
telekintic throw which he can do whether he's close to
you or not.
BEHEMOTH
The terra demon and the last boss. He can throw two
bouncing boulders at you and cause stalagmites to
appaer on both sides of him. Don't get too close or
he'll give you a multi-uppercut which can take from
one-third to a half of your life points.

Have either player one or two choose a character using
A or C button and continue to hold down the button as
the character select screen fades to black. A stage
