Power Stone 2 is an absolutely wonderful game, and happens to be my
very favorite 3D fighter.
Composing this FAQ has been a labor of love. I was having a ton of
problems finding all the secrets in the game, but after a while I was
able to discover a good portion of what the game had to offer. Now,
with new knowledge at hand, I have constructed an FAQ to cover, in-
depth, the many secrets of this fine fighting game.
This FAQ may not/is most likely not perfect. Any submissions are
welcome whole-heartedly. Please e-mail me at
[email protected] with any
submissions, concerns or questions and please include the words "Power
Stone" or "PS" somewhere in the subject line.

= 2: Secret Characters =
= -------------------- =
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
There are two secret characters in Power Stone 2: Mel and Pride. You
can unlock both of them and they are available to play in all modes.
(Arcade, Adventure, Original, 1-on-1, and you can dress them up in the
shop area.)
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
= 2a: Pride =
= --------- =
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
How To Unlock: You can unlock Pride by simply beating the Arcade Mode
with 7 different characters at any difficulty level.
Biography:
Pride is Falcon's father. Pride has some similar attacks to Falcon, but
MANY differences as well. Like Falcon, Pride has a power fusion that
shoots out missiles, but unlike Falcon's his are not homing and they do
a bit more damage. Pride and Falcon both have double jumps, but Pride's
seems to be a little slower and lower to the ground.
Attributes:
Double Jump: Press the jump button, when you're in the air press the
attack button. Pride will do a knee attack, this attack is very hard to
hit, but when you do this attack Pride will jump while he is in the
air. He doesn't travel that much farther then his single jump travels,
but this is a great evasion technique.
Power Stone Knock Out: You can knock out your opponent's power stones
quite easily; one way to do it is to hit them with Pride's Double
jump/air attack, another way is to jump over your opponent and press
the strong attack button. (Usually Y, unless you changed the controller
settings.)
Power Drive: Pride has a very good, damaging power drive. When you're
in "Super Mode", press your attack button and Pride will shoot a Green
Tornado out of his hand. The range is decent and the damage is great.
Power Fusions:
Power Fusion 1: Attack + Jump (R Button)
Pride will shoot out 2 rows of missiles. Unlike Falcon they're not
homing, but he shoots out to barrages of pain. (Unlike his counterpart,
Falcon.)
Power Fusion 2: Strong Attack + Jump (L Button)
Pride will turn into a tornado and travel into the air. The range of
attack isn't that great, but if you time it correctly, than the damage
is very high.
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
= 2b: Mel =
= ------- =
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
How To Unlock: You can unlock Mel by simply beating the Arcade Mode
with 8 different characters at any difficulty level.
Biography: Mel is the in-game shop owner; she surprisingly proves to be
a great fighter with a wide range of attacks. Mel is great in the hands
of an expert, but other may find her style a bit tough to learn. Mel
and Julia have similar attacks, but have an equal amount of differences
as well.
Attributes:
Floating: Mel can soar in the air for a short amount of time; simply
hold down the jump button and Mel will whip out her umbrella and begin
to soar. Mel will fall to the ground if you release the jump button.
Triple Jump: In "super mode" Mel can do a triple jump: simply press the
jump button, and while in the air press it again. Mel will jump again
while in mid-flight, then when you reach the top of your second jump
press jump one last time to get Mel's maximum possible airtime.
Power Stone Knock Out: One way to knock out power stones is to jump
over your opponent and press the strong attack button. (Usually Y,
unless you changed the controller settings.) Sometimes her air attack
will knock out power stones as well, but not always.
Power Drive: Mel has a damaging, but horrible reaching power drive. A
circle of essence cards circles her and they damage any opponent around
her. I would save her energy for her amazing Money Bag power fusion.
Power Fusions:
Power Fusion 1: Attack + Jump (R Button)
Mel will shoot out damaging, homing, moneybags from her back. This is
one of the best power fusions in the game since it can be launched up
to four times before Mel powers-down.
Power Fusion 2: Strong Attack + Jump (L Button)
Mel will shoot out a 180-degree arc of coins, this isn't the most
damaging move, but it is a great counter. You can launch this four
times before Mel is forced to power-down.

= 3: Secret Stages =
= ---------------- =
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
There are six secret stages in the game; they can only be played in
original mode.
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
= 3a: Pharaoh Walker Area =
= ----------------------- =
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
How To Unlock: You can unlock Pharaoh Walker Area by simply beating the
Arcade Mode with 9 different characters at any difficulty level. (Only
2 people can play this.)
Description: This is a practice battle against the tough boss. This is
a great way to practice before a round of arcade.
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
= 3b: Chaos Area =
= -------------- =
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
How To Unlock: You can unlock Chaos Area by simply beating the Arcade
Mode with 10 different characters at any difficulty level. (Only 2
people can play this.)
Description: This is a practice battle against the final boss in the
game. This is a great way to practice before a round of arcade.
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
= 3c: Desert Area =
= --------------- =
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
How To Unlock: You can unlock Desert Area by simply beating the Arcade
Mode with 11 different characters at any difficulty level.
Description: This is the Pharaoh Walker's area. There's not much to do
here except throw cactuses around.
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
= 3d: Extra Stage 1 =
= ----------------- =
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
How To Unlock: You can unlock Extra Stage 1 by simply beating the
Arcade Mode with 12 different characters at any difficulty level.
Description: This is Mel's shop with a big tree in the middle. This
stage is very small and it's extremely difficult to dodge certain
attacks because of this.
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
= 3e: Extra Stage 2 =
= ----------------- =
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
How To Unlock: You can unlock Extra Stage 2 by simply beating the
Arcade Mode with 13 different characters at any difficulty level.
Description: This is a narrow series of beams over, what appears to be,
London. It very difficult to navigate the narrow beams, but characters
with floating abilities and double/triple jumps will have little
trouble forming some nice tactics to use the narrow ledges to their
advantage.
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
= 3f: Extra Stage 3 =
= ----------------- =
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
How To Unlock: You can unlock Extra Stage 3 by simply beating the
Arcade Mode with all of the characters at any difficulty level.
Description: This is a floating isle with numerous overhead bridges.
You can use these bridges to your advantage by jumping off walls.
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
= 4: Secret Move List =
= ------------------- =
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
Here are a couple of secret moves:
Accel's Guns:
You can fire Accel's guns by swinging off a pole, jumping on a
character or pressing attack by the wall.
Mel And Julia's Floating Trick:
Mel and Julia can soar in the air for a short amount of time, simply
hold down the jump button and Mel and Julia will float in the air.
Jack's Evasive Technique:
You would have already noticed that when Jack moves about he crawls.
This enables him to dodge some weapons like the gun and many others
while he is moving. You could experiment to see which he dodges.
Jack's Running Technique:
Run with Jack until all the bullets run out. After this keep on running
and Jack will be running in an upright position which is different from
his normal "dog-like" running style that he's famous for.
Shooting Boxes:
You can make boxes travel across the ground by getting close (but not
to close to a point where you can pick them up) to them and pressing
the medium attack button. (Usually B unless you changed it.)
Power Stone Knockers:
You can always knock off someone else's power stone by jumping over
them and pressing the strong attack button. (Usually Y unless you
changed it.)
Ayame And Falcon's Double Jump:
You can make Pride and Ayame do a double jump by pressing the jump
button in the mid-flight.

= 5: Other Secrets =
= ---------------- =
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
Here are some other miscellaneous secrets the game has to offer:
Unlock Extra Options – Beat The Game In Basic Mode
Every time you beat the game in basic mode after the initial unlocking,
a new option will become available to you. Here you can toggle sound
effects, turn on aim arrows and better control the game difficulty.
Light Stone – Random Gift At Mel's Shop
Pride gives you the light stone randomly when you enter Mel's shop. The
longer you play and the more items you have, the better chances you
have at receiving the light stone.
Extra Health:
In the Dark Castle area, at the final room with a bell, there will be a
ghost with a box occasionally walking about. Hit that ghost and it'll
throw a healing item on the floor. Also, in the tomb area, in the last
segment, there are 4 jars under the statue's head. You can drink them.
One of them will give back a lot of health whereas the other 3 make you
dizzy.
Secret Weapon 1:
In the Dark Castle area, at the final room with a bell, there will be a
little thing sticking out of the floor in the bottom left of the
screen. If you punch it then a weapon will appear which can be used to
shoot little energy projectiles for a short time. This weapon doesn't
appear in the item book and can't be gained for use in mixes.
Secret Weapon 2:
In the Dark Castle area, at the final room with a bell, on the left
wall, there will be some Tridents. Jump and hit them and then they'll
fall off. They are similar to Deluxe Tridents. This weapon doesn't
appear in the item book and can't be gained for use in mixes.
Easy Cards In Adventure Mode:
Whenever you are in Adventure mode you can break boxes to get cards
inside them. Also in the Blue Sky Area, at the last section, you'll
notice there's a waterfall and stream to your right. Go in the stream
and occasionally there will be a row of cards for you to collect.
Easier Pharaoh Walker Fight:
During the Pharaoh Walker fight go under it and jump underneath it and
press the action button to cling on to its stomach. Now move to the
edge and you'll flip on top of it. Hit the guy controlling its tail and
then press the action button to get in, you can then use its laser to
deal major damage to the pharaoh walker. Also, try mounting the boss
when it does its spinning attack if you find that the clinging method
proves to be a little difficult.
Easier Dr. Erode Fight:
At the first and third segments of the Dr. Erode fight, where you have
to fight clay men, you can jump on top of the poles to avoid damage.

Version: .1 - 3/10/03
Initial version with most of the secrets in the game documented. I
decided not to submit this to GameFAQs for some reason.
Version: .2 – 3/14/05
Found this FAQ sitting on my computer and re-wrote a good chunk of it.
New "other secrets" section added and did an overhaul on the grammar
and format. This should be the final version of this FAQ.
Version: Final – 1/19/06
A big thanks goes out to Eamon, with whom I was able to add a ton of
information to the guide. This should be the final version of this FAQ.
