This is a quick and simple non-spoiler guide to the Story Modes in the Home
Edition of "BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger" for XBox 360 and PS3. Game contents and
character profiles described herein are property of Arc System Works and other
copyright holders.
This file is best viewed with equal-width font, and is searchable with use of
the 4-digit addresses listed in the Table of Contents. Any comments, questions,

The format of this guide should be self-explanatory. At the top right of each
Story Mode section, there is a simple chart that diagrams plot flow. If further
clarification is needed, please send me an email.
Characters are listed in the Contents by "tier," organized by their relevance
to the core plot. "0th Tier" Story Modes are unlocked on completion of all
prior storylines (100% Completion not required). The "True End" is unlocked on
completion of "0th Tier."
All events must be viewed in order to obtain 100% completion of a given Story
Mode. This means that, with the exception of events in the True End, every
victory and loss must be experienced once. Completion of the True End Story
Mode, on the other hand, entails only that every battle is won. Obtaining 100%
completion unlocks interviews with the Japanese voice actors that worked on the
game and pictures in the Gallery. This guide may be used as a checklist for
progress toward story completion.
Incidentally, though the character profiles included at the beginning of each
of the sections below are official, a number of them are either no longer
accurate or outright invalidated by the Story Mode. Take what you read here
with a grain of salt. It might be helpful to clear Arcade Mode first -- a brief
characterization section is appended to the end of each Arcade Mode, meant to
supplement the player's understanding of the characters.

The SS-class criminal known as the "Grim Reaper". He fights endlessly against
the government, determined to destroy them. With a grimoire said to have
unparalleled power in his possession, the price on his head is the highest on
record for a single person.
He has the ability to act on what he believes, but seldom plans ahead or thinks
about what might happen next. He usually relies on brute strength to see him
through most problems and has a tendency to rush headlong into trouble. He has
a foul mouth and often draws attention to himself, whether he wants to or not.
Deep down, however, he's not a bad person and doesn't seem to care much about
being the most wanted person in the world.

An NOL soldier who, for his achievements in past battles, earned himself the
title of "Hero". Nonetheless, one day he decided to disobey his orders and head
for the 13th Hierarchical City, Kagutsuchi alone ... as if being drawn in by
something. He is Ragna's brother.
Almost always calm and collected, this man has no interest in the affairs of
others. As a soldier and a commander, his accomplishments are second to none.
Beneath his icy facade, Jin is actually very ambitious and is prone to being
jealous of the success of others. He obsesses over anything that catches his
interest.

A lieutenant in the Praetorian Guard, the Librarium's elite military force. She
is a member of the noble Vermillion family. While at the academy, she
demonstrated exceptional skill in combat and was placed in Jin Kisaragi's
command at a very young age. She soon discovered that being around Jin made her
uncomfortable. She was secretly ordered to retrieve Jin after he abandoned his
post. Her head heavy with worries, she heads for the 13th Heirarchical City of
Kagutsuchi.
She appears to be cool-headed and reserved on the surface, but she is actually
very lonely. Unfortunately, she is not very good at interacting with other
people and finds it difficult to make friends. She excels in combat and little
else. Rumor has it her cooking can take out a man even faster than her guns.

Rachel is the current head of the vampire family Alucard. She lives a rather
mundane life in her castle with only her butler and pets. One day, she decides
to leave for the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi, saying only that she is
bored.
As the child of an aristocratic family, she is well-educated and accustomed to
high standards in many aspects of her life. She is normally quiet, but is also
very arrogant and self-centered. She rarely does anything on her own and is
usually accompanied by her servants, Nago and Gii.
However, she treats them rather poorly, and a day out of the castle seldom goes
by without Gii nearly dying.

development has obscured the sky over her village, and Taokaka is determined to
bring it back. She has heard that anyone who captures the man "Rawrgna" can get
a lot of "money."
Simple and innocent, with occasional mood swings. She rarely listens to what
people have to say and tends to judge people entirely on first impressions.

A feared soldier with a massive frame, known as the "Red Devil." No one knows
for sure what he's doing in the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi, but
chances are it has something to do with the rumors about Ragna the Bloodedge.
Bound by his sense of duty and obligation, he executes his missions flawlessly,
given what he has to work with. He is always thinking one step ahead, looking
for an exit strategy. Kokonoe places great faith in him.
He has become known by others as the "Red Devil," but he himself is actually an
easy-going man who dislikes needless conflicts.

Path division conditions for Stage 2 currently unconfirmed. One previous
completion of Iron Tager's storyline seems to make the Distortion Finish result
more likely ... ?

"For Tager, I was able to reach the Stage 2 alternative truth ending after
getting the Stage 4 alternative truth ending. Before, my distortion finishes
weren't triggering the alternative truth ending in Stage 2, but now they are. I
have not gotten the Blind Warrior END yet."

A doctor in Orient Town, one of the lower parts of Kagutsuchi. She was
investigating the bottom layers of the city in search of the creature Arakune,
but rumors of Ragna's appearance have sent her back to the upper layers.
A very straightforward and honest woman, she is loved and respected by everyone
who knows her. Most of the time she is a kind and loving woman, but when she
gets drunk, she gets a little ... insistent.

After losing their home in the Ikaruga Civil War, Bang and his clan of ninjas
fled to Kagutsuchi to regroup and wait for a chance to restore their homeland
to its former glory. While in Kagutsuchi, Bang decides to make his debut as a
"Vigilante of Justice." When he learns that Ragna the Bloodedge has come to
Kagutsuchi, he decides to bring the legendary criminal to justice!
A real man, who never compromises in either his duty or his desires. He's very
impulsive, although whether thatfs a good trait or a bad one is open to
interpretation. As he a ninja, he takes good care of his henchmen and
subordinates.

A first-class vigilante, Carl has brought many criminals to justice with his
mysterious doll, Nirvana. His sights set on his next target, the infamous Ragna
the Bloodedge, he heads for the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi

A mysterious little girl who appeared from a giant contraption hidden in the
depths of Kagutsuchi. What can this emotionless cyborg of a girl possibly want
with Kagutsuchi ... ?
Although she looks like a person, she is essentially a machine programmed for
destruction and therefore speaks in emotionless fragments, like a computer.
Only around Ragna does she behave like a human being -- specifically, a bubbly
little girl -- but even that is only a means to an end: her purpose is to
absorb Ragna and his power, and become an even greater weapon.

If you are confused about the storyline, note that the entire Story Mode occurs
within a repeating timeloop, and that Rachel is the only character amongst the
protagonists that has memories from all past cycles. Jin's Story Mode takes
place in a cycle that predates all others, and Hakumen recalls at least one
prior cycle. Noel and Hakumen are "recent additions" to the cast of players,
meaning that they did not take part in the earlier repetitions.
