Welcome to the shortest Faq I will ever write and my last Faq for an old
system for a long time. It's been over a year since my last Faq and I
though I'd start with an old classic. Pitfall II: Lost Caverns is, well, a
really stupid game. But it's short so I decided to give it a go. I hope you
like it and you shouldn't have any trouble with the route I provide unless
you veer from the path, but even then it's easy to get through. The game ends
when you collect a woman, a ring and a monkey. Have fun!!

||                               BASICS                                      ||
<>---------------------------------------------------------------------------<>

Checkpoints - Cross these and when you die you will start back at the last
             one you touched.

Enemies - They are vary small and you must avoid them at all costs, you can't
kill them by stomping on them. It wont work!

Death - When you die you will lose points and start back a the last
       checkpoint you touched.

Gold - You can collect gold to rack up points, the more points you have the
longer you can stay alive if you are prone to dying.

Difficulty - Difficulty A and Difficulty B, I still don't know what the
difference is, someone E-mail me please?

Controls - Directional Pad to move, climb, etc. Buttons to jump and other
          actions.

<>---------------------------------------------------------------------------<>

In the beginning just avoid all the enemies that come your way and jump any
pits you come across. Use the ladder in the part ahead to get past the frog by
ducking into it as it leaps over your head and then keep heading right. Leap
over another hole ahead and you will grab some gold. Head back past the frog
and fall into the hole in the screen to the left of the frog. Sink to the
bottom of the water and collect some more gold. Avoid the eels in this area,
they look like white flashing lines. Now swim to the right and get out of the
water.

-Down The Big Ladder-

Jump over a scorpion in the next area and grab some more gold down a ladder.
Head down another level and hit the check point. Take a left and get some more
gold before heading down the ladder. Turn left and get yet another bar of gold
and then head right to a vary long ladder. Avoid the frog and go down the first
floor and then take a left--watch out for the bat flying around--and collect
some more gold in the next screen. Go back to the ladder and take it all the
way down and stop here and there and collect the gold on your way down. There
is also gold to some areas to the left, be sure to check for gold in those
areas.

-Balloon Float-

At the bottom take a left, jump over a scorpion and some more pits and hit the
checkpoint. Keep going and in the area with the large gap wait for the balloon
to come floating in. Grab it and it will take you above, slow it down by
holding down and make it pop on one of the bats. Go to the right and collect
the gold before heading back and waiting for another balloon to come. Take it
up two floors and collect the gold in the room with the flying squirrels. Watch
their pattern and run under them when it is safe. Now take some more balloons
up and stop at the next two rooms and collect gold. Then head back and the
third balloon you take, move left and land on the ledge in the top left corner.

-Dangerous Jumps-

In the next room grab the woman at the top and move down the ladder. Take a
left at the scorpion below and jump off the edge and fall two floors down and
land on the ledge at the bottom left corner. In here grab the ring. Then jump
off the ledge to the right and land one floor below to the right. Head up the
ladder (with all the bats) and collect the gold at the top, take the ladder all
the way down now, get one more piece of gold, and at the bottom head left and
hit the checkpoint.

-Last Stretch-

Continue left and over a scorpion and a pit and in the next room grab some gold
then up the ladder and to the right. Keep going up the ladders, zig-zagging,
grabbing the gold, and get the checkpoint as you head for the top. Note, this
is vary long and tedious part. At the top you will see a monkey like thing to
the left, ignore it and and take a right. Catch the rat and jump into the water
and get the last gold bar one screen to the right and then head back and get
the monkey. Now watch him jump and feel happy about beating a game in  under 20
minutes. If you got all the gold and didn't die you will have 199000 points.
