You can email me at - avantrefaq @ yahoo DOT com DOT au (after removing
the spaces, and replacing the the DOT with . ) Please ensure that you
include "Wild Arms 4" or "WA4 FAQ" or something similar in the subject
line, otherwise I will not open or read the email (thanks to these
spam/virus filled days we live in).
This walkthrough contains shift-JIS characters to display Japanese words.
If you're seeing gibberish characters, you'll have to change your browser
so that it's compatible with this character system. If you're unsure how
to do this, a quick search of the web should give you the procedures for
your particular internet browser. NJstar is a good third-party system if
you cannot find particulars for your browser. If you just can't get it to
display Japanese, then you can contact me directly with queries (although
I cannot guarantee my response times).
QUICK FIND: If you wish to quickly find a topic, just refer to the index
below to find the quick find code (eg, for Index 1 the quick code is
[IND1]), and then use the Find function of your browser (usually CTL-F)
to go directly to that part of the FAQ

Q1: There are some chests that I cannot reach in some dungeons - how
do I get to them?
A1: If chests are not mentioned yet in the walkthrough, then they
require a special Goods, the Detector, to access. This item is
not received until late in the game. I'll list the Detector
chests in a later update.

OVERVIEW
==--====--==
Wild Arms the 4th Detonator (ワイルドアームズ ザ フォースデトネイター)
is a Role Playing Game set on the world of Fargaia. The game series
usually acts as a sort of fusion between a Wild West and a normal
fantasy theme.
WA4 is the fourth game in the series, but is the fifth Wild Arms game.
This is because a complete remake of the first Wild Arms was made, with
the remake going under the title of "Wild Arms: Alter Code F". This has
significance in that you can use your Save Data from the WA:ACF game when
you start playing WA4.
WA4 has introduced some variations on the gameplay seen in previous games
in the series. This is most noteable in battle, which has undergone
significant changes. See Battle System, below, for more information.

INGAME MENU
==--====--==
If you press Triangle, you will bring up the ingame menu. It's arranged in a
hexagonal shape, with six outer choices and one inner choice like so:
1
2 3
4
5 6
7
1= Equip. Equip Weapons, Armour, and Badges
2= GC Graph. Available once you recruit your 4th character. Each level you
have = 1 GC Point. You can use these GC points to acquire skills that you
normally wouldn't get for several levels. For example, Jude has a skill
called Item Steal. Normally, he gets it at level 24. However, if you are
level 12 (or above), you can get the skill because (24 - current level)=12,
and as you're level 12 you'll also have 12 bonus GC Points to spend, so you
can spend them to get this skill. You can spend and respend GC Points as you
see fit. If a skill that you spent GC Points on becomes available normally
(ie, you reached the skill's requisite level), the GC points you spent on
that will be returned to your points pool.
3= Switch character order.
4= Items. Use or view your current items. There are 6 pages of items, use L1
and R1 to scroll between the pages. The 6 pages are: Field Items, Battle
Items, Weapons, Armour, Badges, and Books.
5= Personal Skills. Once GC Graph has been obtained, you can turn off/on skills
here (there may be certain times where you don't want your counterattack
skill on, for example, or there may be skills you don't otherwise like)
6= System. The first option here lets you load games. The second contains all
the tutorials you've currently seen. The rest allow you to change game
options.
7= Status. Views your character's stats. Use left/right to switch between
characters, use L1 and R1 to scroll through various info pages.
==--====--==
BATTLE SYSTEM
==--====--==
The first thing to note in the battle system is that it is very different to
previous Wild Arms games. There is a far greater focus on tactical combat in
this version, due to some interesting additions.
Hexes:
Firstly, combat is played out on a map of 7 Hexagons (6 outers surrounding 1
inner hexagon). These are called Hexes. You can have 1 or more (or all)
characters in 1 Hex, or you can spread them around several Hexes. Gathering
them together allows you to use one ability or item and affect multiple
people, as when you use items/abilities, you target a Hex (and therefore
everyone/everything standing in that Hex), and not a person. However, the
same rule applies to attacks - all people in a Hex will get hit by
attacks aimed at that Hex.
This is also true for Status Affect spells (ie poison, sleep, etc) - when
these types of attacks are used, it is the Hex that is targetted, not the
person. So, for example, if you get hit with a poison attack, you can move
to a clear Hex to avoid further poison damage.
Finally, you character and your enemies canoot both occupy the same Hex.
Combat Menu:
When you enter combat, the combat menu is arranged in a hexagon like so:
1
2 3
4
5 6
7
1= Items. Use a battle item, such as a Heal Berry.
2= Original Skills. Magical abilities the character has that uses MP to
work. Original Skills are learned as you level up.
3= Force Abilities. Magical abilities the character has that use FP to
work. Each character has one Force Ability. Any Combination Art that
the character learns (see Combination Arts below) will be here as well.
4= Normal Attack. Can attack any adjacent square (even guns don't reach
distant Hexes with normal attacks)
5= Analyse. Get information on your enemies, including HP, XP, and likely
item drops.
6= System. Modify game systems options.
7= Move. Move to another square. If you choose to Move to the square you
are already standing in, you will Guard. If you move to one of the
arrows at the outer edges of the outer hexes, you will try to escape.
(Note that at the very start of the game, some of these options are greyed
out. You'll get access to them quickly enough)
Ley Points ( レイポイント ):
When you enter combat, you will see that some Hexes (usually 3) are
surrounded with a coloured border (either red, green, blue or yellow).
The Hexes are called Ley Points, elemental points that are attuned to
certain elements:
- Red: Fire
- Blue: Water
- Yellow: Earth
- Green: Wind
- Grey: No element
These Ley Points affect certain magical abilities that you and the enemy
use. If, for example, you use Arnaud's Original Skill "Blast", you would
get a fire based attack if you were standing in a red Hex, a water based
attack if you were in a blue hex, or a non-elemental attack if you
were in a grey border hex. Also, if you used an elemental attack
(let's say red, fire) to attack a Hex of the opposite element (in this
case blue, water), you will do far more damage than you would attacking
a non elemental Hex or an elemental Hex that's not the opposite of the
element you're in. Not all Original Skills/Force Abilities you can use
change effects if it is used from a Ley Point, but many do.
Global Force Gauge
As in previous games, in combat each character has access to a special
ability called a "Force Ability". These abilities cost 25 Force Points
(FP) to use (1 red bar on the gauge on the far right of the battle
screen). Note that unlike previous games, Force Points are shared in this
game - there is only one Force gauge for the team, not one per team
member. Again, this was implemented to encourage tactical thinking in
battles. The fastest normal way to increase FP is to be attacked.
Status Effects:
Status effects are cast on Hexes, not on people. So, for example, if Poison
was cast on a Hex, your characters would take damage while they remained in
that Hex, but they would not take damage if they moved to a clean Hex. The
exception to this is Battle Incapacity. If a character has resistance to a
status (such as poison resistance), they may be able to move to a poisoned
Hex and not beaffected. This is not guarenteed, however.
- Amnesia ( 忘却 ): Affected characters receive 0 XP at the end
of battle.
Remove with Toy Hammer ( おもちゃのハンマー ).
- Battle Incapacity ( 戦闘不能 ): Character's HP is 0 (note this status is not
a Hex status,it affects allies individually). Use a Revive Fruit, Full
Revive item or Revive Magic to restore.
- Confusion ( 混乱 ):
Remove with Tranquil Pinwheel ( やすらぎの風車 ).
- Disease ( 病気 ): Can't be healed or revived.
Remove with Witch Medicine ( ウィッチメディシン )
- Petrification ( 石像 ): Characters are turned into stone statues.
If all characters are incapacited or petrified, it's game over.
Remove with Pygmalion ( ピュグマリオン )
- Poison ( 毒 ): Characters lose HP at the start of their turn.
Remove with Antidote ( アンチドーテ ).
- Sleep ( 睡眠 ): Character is asleep (you'll see ZZZs coming from them).
Characters can't do anything while asleep.
Remove with Breeze Mint ( ブリーズミント ).
- Weakness ( やるせない ): Can't use Original Skills or Force Commands.
Remove with Stamina Acorn ( 元気ドングリ )
Detonation!:
Whenever you begin a battle, there is a random chance (around 1 in 20?)
that 1 or more of your characters will be in a "Detonation!" mode. This
mode lasts only for the current battle, but while that character is in
Detonation, they will be able to inflict much more damage (physical or
magical) than normal.
Escaping Battle:
At the edge of the outer Hexes, you will see a secondary edge to the Hexes,
If you move one of your characters onto one of these arrows, your party
will attempt to escape the combat. You cannot escape if one or more
allies are incapacitated.
Combination Arts:
Combination Arts are special combo attacks that use your Force gauge. To use
them, you must first learn them. To do so, wait until you have all 4
characters (I tried without success to get arts before having all 4
characters- if it works for you please advise). Get into combat, and have
at least 2 characters in one hex (although you can have 3 or 4 in the one
hex as well). Then, simply guard and wait. Once your Force Guage reaches the
same point where you'd be able to cast a Combination Art (50 FP for a 2
person combo, 75 FP for a 3 person, 100 FP for a 4 person), there is a
random chance that you may learn a Combination Art. You may learn a
Combination Art the first round after you have 50 FP, or you may have to
wait dozens of turns - there appears to be no set formula (although in my
case I did learn the first 6 or so Combination Arts very quickly, and my
gain rate slowed after that)
Eventually, as long as you've got at least 2 people (who haven't already
learned all their mutual CAs) in one Hex, and enough FP, one of the
characters will begin a conversation with the other characters in the same
Hex that will be involved in the CA you've just learned. Not all people in
the Hex may be part of the CA you learn - you could learn a 3 person
Combination Art while all 4 characters were in one Hex, for example.
Once you learn a Combination Art, it is then available to cast from the
Force Abilities option in the Battle Menu. You will, of course, only be
able to cast Combination Arts when the other members of the combo are in
the same Hex as you. For more info on the specific combos, search for
[CMBO]
Item Chests:
When you win a battle, there is a chance that a chest will spawn
in one of the 7 Hexes. These chests will contain one item. While this
item may be an item that was on one of the defeated monster's steal
lists, I have also received items that definitely were not on the
monster's steal list. In order to receive the item from the chest,
you must have a character in the same Hex as the chest - and the
chest appears in a random Hex, so there's no way to know where
to place your characters in advance. The best tactic to maximise
your item retrieval is simply to have each character end the
battle in a seperate Hex (where possible), so that you have a
4 in 7 chance of getting an item if an item chest appears.
EXP Bonus:
DUring battle certain actions (mainly attacking) may increase your
EXP Bonus by 0.1 or 0.2. These bonuses add up during the battle and
are totalled after victory. They act as a multiplier to the XP you get
for winning a battle. By default, characters get a 1.00 EXP bonus (or 0.00
if they're knocked out). So, for example, Monster A gives 50 XP. Jude and
Arnaud were in the battle, and Arnaud did nothing - he didn't attack or
get attacked. Jude, however, attacked and killed Monster A, using enough
attacks to get himself a 0.5 bonus. At the end of the battle, Arnaud
would get (1.0 x 50 XP) = 50XP. Jude would get (1.5 x 50 XP) = 75 XP.

3.0 MAIN STORYLINE
[IND3]
==--====--====--====--====--====--==
START:
==--==
From the game's opening menu, press START to bring up this menu
ロード | ニューゲーム | コンバート | Exファイル
Load | New Game | Convert | Ex File
The game automatically assumes that you're loading a game, as that's the
most common action. If you were, you could just select the game save
and press circle to load the game. If you want to select any of the
other options (and since this is your first time here, you will), just
press X to get to the menu, and then select the option you want with
Circle.
The last option, Ex File, is also for people with existing WA4 save
games. You can use it to load WA4 games and see what Ex Files you
have, and can look at the bonus extras they provide.
But, as you are starting a New Game, you have two options. If you
played Wild Arms: Alter Code F (in the same language/region as
your copy of WA4), and if you kept a save file from that game,
you can use Convert to start a New Game with bonuses. These
bonuses include:
- Extra starting levels to your characters (between 1 and... ?)
- Extra starting items (consensus on Japanese Message Boards say
that this is actually affected by Marielle's level in your
WA:ACF game). You will also recieve 6 Extra Challenge items - if
you do not convert your game from WA:ACF, you may need to play
a New Game+ of Wild Arms 4 to receive enough Extra Challenges to
meet the Ex File #9 condition.
- Some WA4 weapons are powered by the amount of kills you have made. This
powerup includes kills made in your ACF game.
- Extra Badge: The Convert Badge is added to your inventory if you load
an ACF game that was saved after you had completed the game. If you
load an ACF game where you hadn't completed ACF, you will get the other
bonuses listed above, but you will not get the badge.
- Bonus Chests. These chests are red in colour, and are scattered
throughout the game. This also gives you the opportunity to get
a bonus Combination Art by collecting 3 items from three of the
bonus chests.
If you do select convert, you'll have the option to turn off some or all
of the bonuses you get, but I'd suggest just sticking with the defaults
and pressing START to get the New Game Options menu (see below).
If you do not have an ACF file, just select New Game. You'll be shown
the New Game Options screen, which you can also access during the game.
For now, just press START to accept the defaults.
You'll get a short intro before you're introduced to your protaganist,
Jude Maverick ( ジュード・マーヴェリック ), who's in desperate need of lunch.
==--====--==
Geostationary Village Shiel ( 静止した村シエル )
[ST001]
Floor 3
If you're unsure of the controls, please check the controls section under
[IND2] Index 2. Move Jude down (to the bottom of the screen). When you reach
the blue arrow, you'll receive a tutorial window which explains the route
conductor.
In essence, the route conductor tells you where you are and shows you where
you've been. If you look at the top left of the screen, you'll see "Floor
3", which will let you know which floor you're on in a town/dungeon. Arrows
(like the blue one) indicate exits. Blue arrows are exits you've never
gone through. Yellowish Red arrows are exits you have previously gone
through (or come from). You can toggle the route conductor off/on by
pressing the SELECT button.
Exit past the blue arrow.
==--==
Floor 1
Head to the left, past the big machine contraption, and up the stairs.
Enter the house doors and you'll be in your family's house. When you
talk to Jude's mother, you'll be told to find your teacher.
Once the conversation is over, exit to the left.
==--==
Floor 2
If you head up and to the left, you'll see a glowing ball surrounded by
spinning rings. Approach it, and it will transform into a sword. If you
walk on top of the sword and press Circle, you'll pick it up.
You'll see that the Wooden Sword ( 木剣 ) is now an icon at the top of
your screen. These types of things are called Goods, tools/items that
you can use to solve onscreen puzzles. You can take a few practice
swings of the sword with the Square button, if you'd like. You can
drop the sword with X (note that you can't jump while carrying Goods,
so if you want to jump you'll need to press X to drop the Goods before
you can press X again to jump).
Enter the building to the left of the sword. Jude will call out for
his teacher, but he's not there. Why not try the forest?
Exit back to the East.
==--==
Floor 1
Head South-East to the pillar with a green light. You'll get a tutorial
explanation here - this pillar is a Break Point ( ブレイクポイント ).
When you use it, all of your MP will recover. You'll also get an
option to save ( セーブ ) your game. As you progress in the game, you'll
unlock more functions that the Break Point can perform.
When you're ready, head South and East from the Break Point and exit to
East.
==--====--==
Dancing Lights Lane ( 光踊る小径 )
[ST002]
Head a little to the East and you'll get a tutorial on jumping. Press X
to jump. While you are jumping, you can press X again to perform a
double jump (don't ask what you're jumping on for the second jump -
think of it like a special force ability). When you jump or double jump,
you can then press Square to do a power bomb move.
Jump up onto the slightly higher ledge and keep going right to
eventually get a scene. Yes, something strange is going on with that
sky - it'll get explained a little later on.
Keep heading right, and exit.
==--==
Floor 2
Head East. See the island to the right? You can jump there, then jump
to another island to the North-East, and then double jump up onto the
cliff. On the cliff are two chests, containing:
- Nectar x 2
- Heal Berry x 3
Make your way back to the main path and head North. Jump across the small
water-filled break in the path, and exit North.
==--==
Floor 3
Follow the path. When you see the ridge to the right, jump up there to
find a chest:
- Lucky Card
Continue on the main path. After a while, you'll get to a cul-de-sac on
the left, which has two chests:
- Revive Fruit
- Gyara Beetle
Continue on the main path, exiting North-East.
==--====--==
Infringed Forest ( 蹂躙された森 )
[ST003]
Floor 1
After the cutscene to establish the good/bad guys, head North and jump
onto the first ledge. Jude will point out the bad idea in heading North,
so exit to the East
==--==
Floor 2
You can use the Break Point to save, if you wish.
Head South past the Break Point and drop down the ledge. Head East past
the crates, turning North (following the tyre tracks) to avoid the
guards. Go East past the retro tank/robot and jump on the crates to the
North-East. Double jump to the crates above, and drop off the North side.
Take the far right of the ramp, exiting North.
==--==
Floor 3
After a quick scene, you'll start this floor behind some bulkheads. Wait
there until the guard walks up to the distant door, then climb the
stairs and exit North.
==--==
Floor 6
After the cutscene where Jude introduces himself to the girl and promises
to free her, exit down the stairs over to the right.
==--==
Floor 7
Exit South.
==--==
Floor 8
Open the South chest to get a weapon:
- Wide Sword ( 幅広の剣 )
You'll equip this automatically. In the future, if you want to equip new
things, then go into the main menu (Triangle) and select the top icon
(the red vest). In order, you can equip Weapons, Armour, and Badges.
Open the North chest to get:
- East Key ( カギ東 )
Exit through the way you came in.
==--==
Floor 7
Small event here. With the old way blocked, head North. Use the North
exit (with the round window) and select the first option ( はい ) to
open it. Exit North
==--==
Floor 9
Head West until Jude notices the guard.
In order to get past him, you'll need to use your slide option. Press
Square to crouch. While crouching (keep Square pressed), use your
directional buttons to slide. In this case, slide to the left to get
past the guard without him noticing you.
Keep heading left until you reach a steel girder lying on the ground.
Slide past the girder, and keep heading left. Exit left, back into
the carrier.
==--==
Floor 10
Slide under the large blocks to the left. Jump, then double jump up the
two ledges to the far left. Jump right onto the suspended platform, then
again to the next. The next jump requires a double jump, but you need
to time the second press of the X button a little bit later than
normal, or else you'll double jump up into the ceiling and crash to the
floor. Slide under the large block, double jump across the ledge (again,
time it a little late to avoid the roof). Jump up on the ledge and use
the exit to the right. Select the first option ( はい ) to open it, and
exit to the right.
==--==
Floor 11
Use the door to the right. You'll talk to (and free) the guy you saw
earlier. He'll introduce himself as Arnaud ( アルノー ). As there's a
lot of guards running around, you'll wait for nightfall. Once that
comes, Jude realises that he promised the girl that he'd help her
(and that he's been wasting time), and shouts this out (which is
why Arnaud rushes to cover his mouth).
Arnaud joins your party.
Head up the stairs, exit West.
==--==
Floor 10
Drop down when you can, exit by the lower exit.
==--==
Floor 9
Make your way around. When you're going by the girder, Jude will realise
that the guards are gone. Go all the way around, exit right.
==--==
Floor 7
Go South, then head up the stairs and exit.
==--==
Floor 6
Use the door to the North-West to confirm that the girl is gone. Exit
South-West.
==--==
Floor 5
Exit South.
==--==
Floor 2
Head West - you'll see a tent. Enter it.
==--==
Floor 4
Open the chests to get:
- Breeze Mint x 4
- Heal Berry x 2
Exit the tent.
==--==
Floor 2
Head West and enter a second tent.
==--==
Floor 3
Open the chests to get:
- Nectar x 2
- Heal Berry x 2
Exit the tent.
==--==
Floor 2
Head West. Save at the Break Point, if you'd like. Exit West.
==--==
Floor 1
You can use the tree 3 times to get:
- Heal Berry x 5
- Heal Berry x 2
- Heal Berry x 1
totalling 8 Heal Berries. Exit South.
==--====--==
Dancing Lights Lane ( 光踊る小径 )
Floor 3
You'll soon be in your first fight here. See the Battle section near
the start of the FAQ to get a feel for how it all works. You can have
Arnaud cast Blast to catch the Scouter ( スカウター ) from a distance, or
you can wait for them to come into range and attack them with your
normal weapons. Blast is an Original Skill that Arnaud starts with -
see the Character section for a more detailed explanation. You'd
seriously have to try to lose this battle.
Once you're done, note that random battles are now turned on for this
area. Follow the road West, and exit.
==--==
Floor 2
Follow the path, exit SW.
==--==
Floor 1
Follow the path, exit back to Jude's town.
==--====--==
Geostationary Village Shiel ( 静止した村シエル )
[ST004]
So, as it turns out, these soldiers were after an ARM. In this game, an
ARM (or this ARM, at least) is made out of some form of malleable metal
that is capable of transforming into multiple weapons based on the user's
wishes. Not surprisingly, Jude gets his hands on it and immediately gets
into a fight.
Novice Trooper x 4 ( ノービストルーパー )
HP: 1100
XP: 5
Gy: 10
These guys aren't hard - have Arnaud cast Blast, and let them come to
you. Remember that you can hit all people who are in the same Hex,
so concentrate on whichever Hexes have the most troopers in them.
When you're done, Tony (the sneering army guy) will immediately
engage you while driving a Land Gear ( ランドギア ).
Land Gear ( ランドギア )
HP: 6760
XP: 30
Gy: 50
Start using Arnaud's Blast and Jude's Original Command Phantom Line and
you'll be able to shave those HP down pretty quickly.
After the fight you'll see why the ARM was hidden away. You'll also see
why the village name is very close to the word "Shell". You're literally
in some sort of biospere or shell, and that's why earlier on you saw
that strange hole in the sky - the invaders had to blast their way in
from the outside.
Jude wants to keep fighting the army after the girl, Yulie ( ユウリィ ),
manages to get his ARM's power under control. But his mother stops
him, telling him that helping the others is more important.
Yulie will join your party.
When you're ready, exit West.
==--==
Floor 2
Head West, jumping up on the shed, and then onto the ledge beyond (or
double jump directly to the ledge). Head North-West and you'll reach
some escape pods. Approach them to continue - after you escape you'll
see the anime opening sequence. Note that things like this can be
skipped by pressing PLAY (as you'll be seeing that cutscene everytime
you load a game).
==--====--==
Wagonless Highway ( 荷車なき街道 )
[ST005]
Floor 1
After a talk between Yulie and Jude, you'll be in control of your party.
Head North for a bit and Arnaud will worry about encountering Fargaia's
monsters. Yulie will tell you about her summon ability. She wears a
bracelet called a Material Drive ( マテリアルドライブ ) , with which
she can summon Guardian Programs ( ガーディアンプログラム ).
In order to demonstrate this ability, a fight will activate. Build up your
FP (the gauge to the right is your FP - the blue bar measures individual
FP points, the red gauge lights 1 bar per 25 FP. Note that you only have
one FP Gauge for the entire party in this game, unlike in previous ones).
How much FP you gain depends on the action. Guarding, for example, only
gives you 1 or 2 FP. Using an item gives around 2 or 3. If you want to
raise your FP quickly, you have to either attack or be attacked, so
have your characters spend a couple of goes attacking the monsters. You'll
notice that the damage numbers are in a light grey - this means that the
creature is resistant to the type of attack you're doing (physical
attacks in this case).
Once you have 25 FP (1 red bar), and it's Yulies turn, then select your
Force abilities (top right option on the battle menu). You'll see one
option there - Material ( マテリアル ) - select it. The Guardian you summon
depends on the element of the Hex you're standing in. If you're standing
in a Ley Point (one of the Hexes with a coloured border), you'll summon
the Guardian whose element matches that colour. If you're standing in a
normal Hex, you'll summon the Healing Guardian. By default for this
combat, you start in a red (fire) Hex, so if you've stayed in that
Hex you'll summon the Fire Guardian. By remarkable coincidence, the
monsters are weak against fire and will all be obliterated.
When you've won the battle head North, following the path until you reach
a tank. The left turn goes to a dead end, so take the right fork and enter
the cave in the distance.
==--==
Floor 2
Jump up the steps. When you reach the top, you'll be told about
Accelerator. When you press R1, everything goes into slow motion. In
this state, you can see things you otherwise would not ( there's a lot
of gyara available in certain areas when you turn on accelerator. The
more gyara you collect with one Accelerator, the more bonus gyara you
get). You can also use Accelerator to get past obstacles such as
disappearing stairs or falling bridges. Use Accelerator now and run
across the bridge.
If you look at the top right of the screen, you'll see the letters "ACG"
and a blue bar beneath it - this is your Accelerator Gauge. When you
use Accelerator, this bar rapidly depletes. In some areas, during
accelerator, you'll see hourglasses. If you hit these your Acceleraor
gauge will top up and you'll remain in Accelerator mode. Otherwise,
when your gauge depletes you'll go back to normal speed. Once your
gauge is depleted, you have to wait a few seconds - when that wait
time is finished, you'll see that the gauge begins to rapidly refill.
You can also cancel Accelerator while it is active by pressing the R1
button again.
Once you're across the bridge, jump over the wall and jump onto the
crate. From there double jump left onto the next ledge, then right
onto the roof. Fall down the other side of the house, and enter it
to find a Break Point and a chest with:
- Adventure Guide Chapter 7
Head East, exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 3
Apparently the destruction you see here isn't unusual - the war 10 years
ago was devastating. Head South to the end of the path. There's a chest:
- Nectar x 2
Go back and take the other fork North, following the path and jumping
up on ledges to continue where need be until you reach the exit.
==--====--==
Port Rozaria ( ポートロザリア )
[ST006]
Floor 1
You've reached a town - Jude's certainly impressed by the size of it. Then
again, he's been living in some sort of biosphere for most or all of his
life, so perhaps that doesn't mean much. All that aside, what your heroes
are now after is a meal. Head North-West and you'll see a building with
a sign in English: "Cafe and Bar Seabreeze Port" - enter it.
You're just sitting down to eat when a bunch of rowdy soldiers (from the
same army that invaded Jude's village) start hassling the waitress.
Before you can intervene, a platinum haired woman chases them off. You'll
tell her your story and the woman, Raquel, will eventually decide to join
you.
Raquel joins the party.
Now that you have four members in your party, you can use a new option
called GC Graph ( GC グラフ ) - the top left option in your main menu.
Essentially, you get a GC Point for every level your character has
obtained. You can use these points to get skills that you normally
wouldn't get yet (because you haven't met their level pre-requisite).
See the character profiles list in Appendix 1 for a description of
these skills, and for how to use the GC Graph. It's worth investing
a minute or two in, as some of the skills are very useful early on
(such as Jude's Item Steal or Yulie's FP Advantage)
There are some items you can get on this floor:
- Heal Berry (barrel on top of crates, just West of Seabreeze Port)
- Revive Fruit (to the West, the barrels between stall with red
cloth top, and first stall with white/blue striped cloth top
- Breeze Mint x 2 (All the way North is a lookout. To its East is a
crate. Jump on crate, then double-jump onto building next to it.
In the North-East corner is a hidden barrel with these items)
To the West is "Weapon Shop Gargantua" - the sign's in English so
you should spot it easily enough. If you walk into there you'll
be at your first shop
Shop: Gargantua
_____________________
| Item | Cost
| Nectar | 80
| Heal Berry | 100
| Antidote | 20
| Toy Hammer | 20
| Breeze Mint | 40
---------------------
A word on shopping: when you enter a shop you are presented with
2 or 3 options. The first 2 are Buy and Sell. Some shops have a
third option, Talk. When you want to exit, just press X.
Shop displays are split into 6 pages, just like your item menu is.
These pages are: Field Items, Battle Items, Weapons, Armour,
Badges, and Books. You use L1 and R1 to switch between the pages.
Once you're all done on Floor 1, check the North-East for an alleyway
exit to Floor 2.
==--==
Floor 2
Items available here are:
- Heal Berry (Barrel near a cart at the intersection)
- Antidote x 4 (Flaming metal barrel near intersection)
If you talk to Brian ( ブラィアン ), the kid that's running around
in the area past the archway that you'll reach if you take
the left fork at the intersection, he will try to sell you
Antidotes for 50 Gyara. This should get those RPG senses
tingling - 50 Gyara for an item that you can get for 20 in
the same town?
If you buy 10 Antidotes from Brian, he'll realise that you're
loaded with Gyara, and so therefore you must be treasure hunters.
He'll give you a sword to help you on your quest:
- Lombardia ( ロンバルディア ). This is a sword for Raquel, its stats
are - ATP:special/ACN 1.00/Accuracy+0. The ATP (attack power)
depends on how many kills you've made - the more kills, the
more powerful the sword. This also includes a percentage of
the kills you made in Alter Code F, if you converted your
ACF game. Without conversion, the ATP will be around 450.
With it it could be highly variable- mine was just under 1000.
There's not much else to do here at this stage. To the North-West of
Brian is an exit to Floor 3, which is the port area, but there's nothing
there at this stage. When you're ready, exit the town.
==--====--==
World Map
When you leave town you'll be presented with the World Map. You'll see
that it's not a free roaming map, but rather one where you select your
destinations and travel there in a straight path. When you select a
destination, you'll move there. In order to enter that destination,
select it again (once you've arrived), and select the first option to
actually enter.
A couple of other things you can do on this map is press Triangle to
get the normal menu. You can press Square to Save and to see the
unique badges you have collected.
Once you're ready, select and enter Pilgrimage Ground Curane
( 巡礼地キュレーン )
==--====--==
Pilgrimage Ground Curane ( 巡礼地キュレーン )
[ST007]
Floor 1
There's only one way to go forward. Don't forget the chest near the exit
to the next floor that you saw in the opening shot - it's over to the
right, hidden by the fence that is in front of it:
- Fire ( ファイア ) x 8
Exit to the North
==--==
Floor 2
Head up the walkway and exit West.
==--==
Floor 3
Head West. You'll get another tutorial about Goods. The spinning rings
that hold goods are called a Photosphere. Ignore it for a moment and
open the chest to the South to get:
- Gyara Beetle x 2
Now, step into the Photosphere and pick up the sword. Climb the stairs
and hit the gem with the sword - the gem should turn orange, and a
path will open to the North. Exit to the North.
(don't drop the sword - keep it when you exit)
==--==
Floor 4
Hit the 2 gems (as you did on the last floor) to open the way. Exit
to the North-West.
==--==
Floor 5
You'll have to drop the sword (with X) and then jump up on to the
ledge. Pick up one of the small crates with Circle and throw it
(with the Square button) at one of the 3 gems to activate it.
Repeat for the other 2 gems to get all 3 lit. If you've got terrible
aim and you use up all the crates before you hit all 3 gems, just exit
back to floor 4 and come back again - the crates will regenerate.
Practice makes perfect.
When you get all 3 gems, exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 6
You can jump across the stone blocks, but if you use Accelerator, you
can pick up some Accelerator Gyara. Do so, making your way across the
blocks and exiting East.
==--==
Floor 7
Step on the blue switch to the South and it will activate a set of
stairs. These stairs will disappear in around 4 seconds, so you'll
need to use your Accelerator to make it up the stairs in time. If
you're having trouble making it, then hit the switch and start
running for the stairs. Count to 2, then activate your Accelerator.
This should give your enough Accelerator time to get up the stairs.
There are also Accelerator Gyara here - pick them up while you
jump up the stairs.
Open the chest at the end to get:
- Alter Parts
(You'll be able to use those once you get back to town) Drop down
to the ledge that's to the South of the very East side of the
platform that the chest is on. Exit to the South.
==--==
Floor 8
You'll have a quick conversation where Raquel will reveal her age
(19), showing herself to be just below 20, the age that the Japanese
consider to be the age of adulthood. There's a bit of a theme
with this group of them all being kids (in a way), with some of
them wanting to become adults (like Jude), some of them not
wanting to become adults (like Raquel) and some of them not
trusting adults (more on this later in the storyline)
Once the conversation's done, take the North path at the
intersection to get a chest:
- Lucky Card x 2
Take the West path and exit.
==--==
Floor 9
Use the Photosphere (the rings) and pick up the sword. If you hit a
gem, it'll only stay orange for around 3 seconds. You need to use
Accelerator, and hit all 4 gems while in slow motion. There are
Accelerator Gyara to pick up here as well.
Once the gems are all activated, exit through the new path to the
West.
==--==
Floor 2
Head around the path. Oh look, a Break Point. Guess that means there's
a boss fight coming up. As you head towards the Break Point,
you'll see that that's very true - they've sneakily put a boss
BEFORE you reach the save point.
Trask ( タラスク )
HP: 7430
XP: 55
Gyara: 50
Well, it's more a mini-boss. Surround it (put someone in all the Hexes
around it) so that it can't move. Have Arnaud cast Fragile on the
Trask's Hex. Use Raquel where you can - her Force Ability (Interlude)
allows her to take two turns in a row, use it if you can. You'll
find that Raquel should be able to make short work of this beast,
especially if you've cast Fragile. You can have Arnaud cast Blast
as well - that can do some damage if Arnaud's standing on a Ley Point.
When you defeat the Trask, a new feature of the Break Point will
be opened up. You'll see that an "ENC ON" option has appeared at
the top left of your screen, under the floor number. Each Break
Point in a (non-town) area can have this option activated. What it
is, is it's a toggle. Once a Break Point is activated, you can
press the R2 button to turn random encounters off an on for that
area.
When you're ready (you may want to save), exit to the North.
==--==
Floor 6
Exit North.
==--==
Floor 10
You'll have a conversation about Migrant Birds ( 渡り鳥 ). This is
another theme that comes up regularly in Wild Arms games, where the
main characters are Migrant Birds, roaming free and living by their
own strength.
Once that's done, exit to the West.
==--==
Floor 11
Open the chest at the end of the path:
- Revive Fruit x 2
Then, make your way back via the higher path - double jumping your
way and exiting via the upper East exit.
==--==
Floor 10
Step on the switch to turn it red. Drop down to the lower part of
the room. Exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 12
Pick up a crate and throw it at the gem to activate it (you'll need
to climb the stairs and throw it from East of the gem).
Exit through the upper West exit.
==--==
Floor 10
Step on the switch. With both switches activated, the wall blocking
the North exit will lower. Drop down to the lower part of the floor
and exit to the North.
==--==
Floor 13
Yulie's not a fan of classical sculpture. Well, alright, she just
thinks it's terrible that the statue is wrecked. Raquel theorises
that it may have happened during the war.
After the conversation, you'll get a quick tutorial about the L1
button - pressing it when near objects that are flashing ! or ?
icons gives you information on the object.
Use L1 to look at the yellow flowers to the South-East. If it doesn't
work, try moving closer and using L1 again until you activate a
cutscene.
Just as you're about to harvest the plant, Tony steps in for a
return match. He's upgraded to a Land Gear Powered this time.
Novice Troopers ( ノービストルーパー ) x 3
HP: 1100
XP: 5
Gyara: 10
Land Gear Powered ( ランドギアパワード )
HP: 7020
XP: 70
Gyara: 60
This fight shouldn't be too hard. Take out the troopers so you
can concentrate on the Land Gear Powered. Have Arnaud cast
Fragile on it, then have him get onto a Ley Point and start
casting Blast. Have Raquel interlude and attack, she should
do a fair bit of damage. Jude can also attack, while Yulie acts
in support/healing.
After the battle, Jude gives Raquel the remains of the flower.
Once that's done, you'll get an interlude scene.
==--====--==
Port Rozaria ( ポートロザリア )
[ST008]
Back to Port Rozaria. You'll be given a quick tutorial about
Meetings ( ミーティング ), which are conversations that Jude can have
with individual party members, or with the party as a whole.
If you go to a break point (like the one to the North, just
South of the lookout on Floor 1), you'll see a new option,
Meetings ( ミーティング ), when you use the Break Point. If you
select that, you'll then be able to select who you have a
meeting with. The last option is Party ( パーティ ) - select
that so you can progress. You can't leave this town now, until
you have a party meeting.
After your meeting, Raquel will join permanently and give you
2000 gyara. You'll now have another option on your Break
Point - ARM Customisation.
If you select that, you'll see 3 options. The first allows you
to use Alter Parts to customise ATP and ACN. You can also choose
the last option, reset, to remove all your parts so you can retool
your ARM. The second option allows you to use Dragon Fossils
to increase Accuracy, Critical Damage, Number of Bullets, and
Reaction/frequency of auto-reload. The last option allows you
to change the focus areas of your weapon.
You may as well use the Alter Part you picked up in Curane to
increase your ARM's ATP, so Jude will do more damage.
Gargantua has also added to their stock:

When you're ready, exit to the world map and select your new
destination, Wandering Celesty
==--====--=
Wandering Seresty ( 彷徨えるセレスティ )
[ST009]
The conversation here indicates that the destruction that this
town has seen was not unusual.
==--==
Floor 1
Take the exit to the West.
==--==
Floor 2
Take the path around to the left to get past the rubble. You'll
see two black balls in the bottom-right section of the room -
these are bombs. Pick one up, light it by pressing Square,
and then throw it at the rubble by facing the rubble and
pressing Square again. (Alternatively, you could also walk up
to the rubble while carrying a lit bomb, and press X to drop
the bomb next to the rubble. When its fuse runs out, the bomb
would destroy the rubble)
This should destroy the rubble. Head West, jumping up the ledges.
You'll see two more bombs in the North-West corner. Pick one up
and use it to destroy the planks next to the chest to reveal
a second chest. Open the chests to get:
- Adventurers Book 4
- Badge: Bronze Moon
The Bronze Moon badge raises a character's Max MP by 10 when
worn. Equip it on whomever most often runs out of MP.
Pick up another bomb (don't light it just yet) and, while
carrying the bomb, exit the way you came in.
==--==
Floor 1
Carry your bomb all the way over to the North-East, to the
building next to the collapsed one. If you have the Route
Conductor on, you'll see a blue exit arrow behind some garbage.
Bomb the garbage blocking the way and exit through here.
==--==
Floor 3
The glowing blue chest needs a Duplicator to open, and you
probably don't have one yet so leave it for now.
Jump up on the ledge. You'll see a gold door. That also needs
a Duplicator to open, so jump your way up and exit to the
North-East.
==--==
Floor 5
Make your way right. Climb down the ladder (approach it and use
it to start climbing). Use the bombs down here to blow the
rubble to the left (aim at the ! if you're uncertain) to reveal
a chest with
- Duplicator x 10
Well, that's a lot of Duplicators. Climb the ladder and exit
back through the way you came in.
==--==
Floor 3
Open the blue chest - you'll be asked a yes/no question which
is asking if you're sure you want to open the chest (as it will
cost you 1 Duplicator to open). Select the first option to
open the chest, and get:
- Dragon Fossil
As mentioned before, you can use Dragon Fossils to upgrade your
ARM by selecting the second option in the ARM Upgrade menu at
Break Points.
Now, use another Duplicator to open the golden Duplicator door
and exit North.
==--==
Floor 4
Use Accelerator and you'll see Accelerator Gyara next to the
door. There's also more of this Acceleartor Gyara up the ladder.
Climb the ladder, Accelerate and grab the Gyara (remember that
the more of this Gyara that you pick up during one use of
Accelerator, the more bonus Gyara you get from "chaining" the
Gyara collection together).
Once you're done, exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 5
Climb down the ladder to the right. Head North for a boss fight.
Earthbind Spirit ( アースバインドスピリット )
Level: 9
HP: 10350
XP: 80
Gyara: 70
Yulie's Stigma magic is great here, if you have it. If Jude's
high enough in level, you can also try to use his Item Steal
command here, to try and get the Prizm Staff badge.
The Spirit can do huge damage, so keep your HP high. It can
also steal MP, which is annoying. Otherwise, just beat it down
with whichever attacks you prefer, and you should be fine.
When you win, exit to the North.
==--==
Floor 6
Take the exit to the North-East.
==--==
Floor 7
There's a Break Point here. If you head all the way North
(careful of the small chasm about 2/3rds of the way up), you'll
see some bombs. Take them, head left and blow all the rubble
here.
Open the chests there to get:
- Gyara Beetle x 2
- Lucky Card x 2
Head back to the Break Point, take the left turn near it and
follow the path around to its end. Pick up one of the bombs
there and carry it all the way around to the glowing gem that
is at the end of path that you get by taking the second turn
to the left (after the Break Point). Throw the lit bomb at the
gem to activate the ENC toggle on the Break Point.
Get another bomb and bomb the rubble beyond the gem to reveal
an exit. Exit through this new door.
==--==
Floor 8
You'll see that if you bomb the rubble to the right, it'll
destroy the bridge. So, throw a lit bomb at the rubble and use
Accelerator just before the bomb hits. Dash across the bridge
while in Accelerator mode, and exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 9
If you use Accelerator, you can get some bonus Gyara here. Exit
to the East.
==--==
Floor 10
Again, Accelerator gets you some Gyara here. Ignore the chest
for a moment - it's stuck and you can't open it yet.
Exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 11
Grab a bomb from near the statue and exit West.
==--==
Floor 10
Light the bomb fuse and drop it (X button) next to the chest.
The explosion will unstick the chest - open it to get:
- Badge: Bad Omen
If you wear the Bad Omen badge, you'll get random encounters
more often.
Exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 11
Bomb the crate rubble near the bottom of the stairs, then use
Accelerator to get some Gyara. Bomb the statue (if it doesn't
blow up, then lay 2 or 3 bombs near the statue, then light one
to cause a chain reaction explosion - this will definitely get
it).
Exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 12
Head East.
You'll encounter Jeremy ( ジェレミィ ). He wasn't at the Barduk
meeting, but they did spend a fair amount of time talking
about him - he's a member of their group.
Jeremy ( ジェレミィ )
Level: 9
HP: 9800
XP: 90
Gyara: 80
He has long range and short range attacks, and can also
counter-attack. He can do a fair bit of damage so keep Yulie in
a non-battle Hex (if you can) to act as a healer. Don't forget
Raquel's Force Ability, Interlude, which allows her to have
an extra battle turn (also note that Interlude can be cast
multiple times in a row, until you run out of FP).
When the battle finishes, exit East.
==--==
Floor 13
Exit East.
==--==
You'll see Jeremy have a talk with Krusnik ( クルースニク ), another
Brunak member.
==--====--==
World Map
Your next destination is Twinks.
==--====--==
Twinks Great Stairs ( トゥエンクス大階悌 )
[ST010]
Jude ponders on how it's ARMs like his that cause destruction
like this. Yulie points out that her strength is also born from
the war. Raquel notes that in the world there are good and bad
people. She strives to be a good force, and Jude should see it
as his duty to use his strength for this too. Jude doesn't
think it's that easy.
==--==
Floor 1
Head forward. Jump up the first set of stairs to the left and
open the chest at the end to get:
- Badge: Gun Star Sign
The Gun Star Sign raises critical hits when worn.
Head back to the main path, and then head up it. Use Circle to
climb the ladder at the end of the path, and exit to the North.
==--==
Floor 2
Head up the path/stairs. Halfway up are stairs that branch off
to the right - there's a chest up there:
- Revive Fruit x 2
And a Duplicator chest:
- Ambrosia
Keep going on the main path. There's another split in the
stairs - the right fork takes you to a Break Point. Up the
left fork is Julian ( ジュリアン ), a wandering peddler.

==--==
Floor 3
Yulie reveals a bit of her past. She lived at an institute
where she and others (in return for meals and a bed) were
subjected to daily experiments. This is the place you're now
heading to.
When the conversation is over, head up the stairs and exit.
==--====--==
World Map
Next stop - White Orphanage.
==--====--==
White Orphanage ( 白い孤児院 )
[ST011]
As you can see, "Research Facility" is perhaps a better name
for it than "White Orphanage". Yulie's confident that they
can find stuff here to strengthen Jude's ARM. She remembers
how there was always adults in white coats, who were saying
that their mission was to evolve life's form.
==--==
Floor 1
Jump into the reception area ahead (there's a section without
glass to the right) and open the chest to get:
- Adventurers Book 15
Climb the stairs to the right and exit through the door at
the end of the path.
==--==
Floor 3
You can Accelerate and pick up some money here.
Exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 4
Accelerate to pick up a bonanza of hidden Gyara. Head forward
until you reach the door. See that grey box next to it? Jump
up onto it. Now, do a vertical jump and press Square while you
are in the air - you'll do a power dive move, which will depress
the switch, opening the door.
Exit through the new opening.
==--==
Floor 5
Head down the stairs to the right and you'll see two photo-
spheres. The left one has a Magic Staff, the right one has a
Sword. Pick up the Staff. Head back up the stairs and use
the console with the large green screen - one of the black
flame pots will now be lit.
Head over to it and swing your Staff at the burning pot. If
you're close enough, your staff will turn into a Flaming Staff.
Now, use your Staff on the unlit flame pot to light it and
open the path.
Before you go on, do you remember the unlit flame pot on
Floor 1? Keep your Flaming Staff and head back to Floor 1.
==--==
Floor 4->Floor 3->
Floor 1
Light the pot with your Flaming Staff. Exit through the new
path to the East.
==--==
Floor 2
There's a chest here with:
- Badge: Northern Blade
The Northern Blade badge raises your chance of counter-attacking
when worn.
There's also a Duplicator chest:
- Extra Challenge
Once you've collected your loot, make your way back to Floor 5
(you'll have to leave the staff behind in order to jump out of
Floor 2)

Pick up another Magical Staff from the Photosphere and light
it at one of the flame pots. Exit to the North.
==--==
Floor 6
Follow the path to the end. Note the humanoid monster hanging
to the left. Exit to the North.
==--==
Floor 7
If you light any of the flame pots (with the Flaming Staff you
carried from Floor 5), you'll find that they douse themselves
after a couple of seconds. Use Accelerator and light the 3
flame pots (you can also pick up some Accelerator Gyara here).
When all 3 pots are lit, exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 8
Notice the 3 brown crates to the right? Power dive them (jump,
then Square) to destroy them. There's also Accelerator Gyara
here to collect.
Exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 9
If you loaded ACF data, there's a red chest to the South with:
- 2415 Gyara
A note on these "red chests", since this is our first encounter
with one. If you started your game by converting your Wild Arms:
Alter Code F save game, you will find some bonus chests throughout
the game - these chests are coloured red to distinguish them.
Of course, if you did not convert your data, you won't see any
of the red chests in the game.
Over to the right and down the stairs is another chest that
is hidden by the crates (which you can destroy by doing a jump/
power dive). The chest has:
- Alter Parts
Exit to the South-West.

Floor 6
Head South to get a boss battle.
Miscreation ( ミスクリエーション )
Level: 12
HP: 10500
XP: 120
Gyara: 100
This thing's reaction is high - he gets a lot of turns in
battle. He can cause Poison status, but besides that he's
not too tough. Use Raquel's Interlude, and summon an
attack guardian when you can.
After the battle, Yulie says that the Miscreation was a
genetically modified creature, and that it was a part of the
attempts to create a new lifeform.
Lots of children were given medicine. If their bodies rejected
it, they'd have painful spasms, and they'd be operated on.
Every day, one by one, her friends' conditions would fade away
in the institution's quest to make living weapons...
You'll get a cutscene of a younger Yulie and another patient,
an older boy.
"Why are you crying, Yulie? I will... for the sake of
protecting you I'll go. So please stop crying. It's not
only you. This world is... for everyone's peace of mind,
I have to go. I want you to always sing. When you sing,
I'm not lonely either. Therefore..."
After the scene, once you regain control, keep going South
and exit South.
==--==
Yulie mentions her brother, and then goes on to say that she
was considered a "B Class Category". Her friends were less than
F Class. That's why "those adults" (the scientists) trifled
with their bodies and judged them unworthy.
Jude angrily says that they didn't treat her like a human being.
Yulie goes on to say that her brother was WG919F. She was
WG920B+. They were only ever called by their identification
codes.
==--==
Floor 10
Note the Break Point to the right - you can double-jump over
the fence to get to it. Hidden behind the crates to the South-
West are 3 raised switches. Use your power dive or sliding
attack (Square + direction) to destroy the crates, and then
power dive on the 3 switches to clear the Break Point.
Exit to the West.
==--==
Floor 12
Use Slide to destroy the 4 crates, then power dive the crates
below until you can get out underneath the floor.
Exit to the West.
==--==
Floor 13
Why did they do it, Jude wonders. Did anyone ask why, Raquel
adds. May I answer, Jeremy interrupts.
Jeremy identifies himself as a Brunak Commander. Jude asks if
it was the Brunaks who did this, but Jeremy tells him that the
facility was under the control of the Parliament Knights during
the war, not the Brunaks.
Their plan was to mass produce their heroes. In short, they
experimented on humans to win the war that raged 10 years ago.
Also, ARMs were produced.
Yulie interjects that ARMs were perfect. Why didn't they shut
down the facility when they were created?
Jeremy continues on, calling Yulie a Gene Driver. "The research
data corresponds to the description. Before me is this
experiment's product."
Jude promises to use his ARM's strength to protect Yulie, and
finally you will fight Jeremy.
Jeremy ( ジェレミィ )
Level: 12
HP: 11000
XP: 160
Gyara: 120
Jeremy can cast Initial Cancel, which works like Raquel's
Interlude (it gives him an extra turn in battle). He has a
missile attack that really hurts but thankfully it often
misses. Have Arnaud cast Fragile and Slowdown on Jeremy's Hex,
and then get Raquel to Interlude and pound on Jeremy when she
can.
After the battle Jude gets reckless, and Yulie intervenes.
Jeremy's not impressed by Yulie's actions, as he was going to
kill them all anyway. If you thought Yulie's brother from the
earlier cutscene looked familiar, then your suspicions will be
confirmed here as Krusnik intervenes and Yulie recognises him
as her brother.
Your party will take the better part of valour, and run away
during the standoff between Krusnik and Jeremy.
You'll get a cutscene at Brunak Base, and then you'll get some
more cutscenes with your party.
==--====--==
Sky Carrier Eulalia ( 空中空母エウラリア )
[ST012]
Eulalia was apparently a Spanish saint - a patron of safe sailing
among other things.
Floor 1
There's a Break Point here. If you head up the ramp and go to
the right, you'll see a pole. You can jump onto poles (Jude
will automatically grab them if you aim your jump correctly)
and then use the directional buttons to climp up/slide down
them. When you jump from a pole, you'll jump in the direction
your back is facing.
There are also Accelerator Gyara in this room. When you're
ready, jump on the pole and climb up it. At the top, jump off
the pole onto the ledge to the South-East.
Exit via the upper South-East exit.
==--==
Floor 2
Well, the party now know what all the rumbling was about
before, as they realise that they're in an air carrier. You
can jump straight across the gap to get to the exit, but if
you use Accelerator you'll see there are some Gyara to collect
here.
Exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 3
Drop off the ledges to find a stack of wooden crates. Destroy
them (slide attack) to find a metal crate. If you press Circle
while standing next to and facing the crate, you can push/pull
it wherever you like. Push it over to the right ledge, jump onto
it and then double-jump from it to the ledge above.
Exit to the North-East.
==--==
Floor 4
There are Accelerator Gyara on this floor. Make your way down
and exit at the bottom.
==--==
Floor 5
Go down the ramp and double-jump to the next platform. It's
easy to miss so don't get discouraged. (Note that there are
Accelerator Gyara around here, as well)
Single jump to grab the pole. Climb up far enough so that you
can just see the ceiling and then jump to the next pole. Jump
to the third pole, then jump off to the ledge below.
Jump to the next ledge, which has 2 poles. Jump onto and climb
one. At the top, jump onto the ledge. Head East, exit East.
==--==
Floor 6
Jump up the blocks. When you reach the switch, power dive
(jump, then press Square) and then immediately activate
Accelerator. Jump up the orange/white platforms while they're
extended. When you reach the next switch, do the same thing
again, and the next, and so on, until you finish by standing
on the 3 orange blocks at the very top right (just above an
exit). When Accelerator wears off, the blocks will disappear
and you'll drop down onto the ledge with the exit.
Exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 7
Jump to the horizontal pipe above - you'll grab and hang off
it. If you want to drop off one of these pipes, just press
Square. If you use jump while holding onto a horizontal pipe,
you'll stand on top of the pipe. If you're standing on a pipe,
you can press Square to drop down and hang off it.
Make your way East, and exit East.
==--==
Floor 8
Jump up to the switch and activate it. Turn on Accelerator,
then jump up the white/orange blocks. Jump onto the horizontal
pipe. Take the left path, jumping up from pipe to pipe, then
take the right path. Hit the next switch, Accelerate, and
jump up to the exit.
Exit to the East.
==--==
Floor 9
Head towards the North exit for a boss fight.
Incubator ( インキュベーター )
Level: 14
HP: 11000
XP: 200
Gyara: 180
Can summon:
Larva ( ラーヴァ )
Level: 14
HP: 4950
XP: 80
Gyara: 50
The Incubator will keep summoning Larva's fairly often, but
they're not too troublesom. Have Arnaud move to one of the
elemental Ley Points and use Blast. Have Raquel and Jude
concentrate on the Incubator to finish it off.
When you win, exit to the North.
==--==
Floor 10
Move the blue crate to the center North of the room.
Climb atop the crate and the double-jump up to grab
onto pipes above. You'll have to switch pipes a couple
of times on the way up.
Exit North, at the top.
==--==
Floor 11
Head up. You'll soon find a Break Point. The chest next
to it is a Shop Box ( ショップボックス ). Think of it as a
very colourful vending machine.
Shop: Shop Box

Floor 12
There's a non-random fight with some Troopers here. Your
party tries to talk it out, but to no avail. The fight's
not hard (and it's not a real boss fight, so it's not
really necessary to list their stats). When you win, one
of the Troopers will admit defeat, and say that his
Commander, Scythe, could handle you because he's a
"Noble Red" ( ノーブルレッド )
It's apparent that Arnaud recognises these words, and
doesn't like them. Apparently Noble Reds are an ancient
race that was told of in legends. They had appearances
that were similar to humans, and they had mighty strength.
You'll probably remember Scythe from the long interlude
which had most of the Brunak members in a meeting. He was
the one sucking on the neck of the woman next to him.
The word Vampire comes to mind.
After the fight, head North into the Carrier's command
bridge and use the device with the 3 lightbulbs that is
in the centre North of the room. You'll get some directions,
which you need to progress the story.
Exit back to the South.
==--==
Floor 11
A new way will be open to you to the East - take it.
==--==
Floor 13
Make your way down. There are Accelerator coins here if you
want them. Exit at the bottom.
==--==
Floor 14
Head down the stairs, and then North to the yellow exit.
Exit North.
==--==
You'll get another Brunak Base interlude.
Afterwards, you'll face Scythe ( サイス )
Scythe ( サイス )
Level: 14
HP: 9000
XP: 320
Gyara: 240
This guy gets a lot of attacks. Also, he has a supernatural
dodge ability which means that a lot of your attacks will
completely miss. He can also drain your HP to help him
restore his own HP. If he's not in the central Hex, the
best tactic is probably to surround him with Arnaud, Jude
and Raquel in each of the Hexes around him (keeping Yulie
back to cast healing spells). The, you can do the usual
tricks of having Arnaud cast Fragile and Slowdown (if
Arnaud isn't level 14 yet, use your GC Graph to get this).
Then, have each character use Magical attacks (where they
can) to take him down, as he can't dodge those as easily
as he can dodge physical attacks. Raquel's Poisoned Bite
is a good one to use, as it does damage each turn.
When you beat him, he'll counterattack with a spell that
reduces all your life to 1. After the battle, Scythe
looks ready to replenish himself by sucking your blood.
It appears that Arnaud's deathly afraid of this fate,
but eventually gathers his courage to activate the
plane catapults. Jude uses Accelerator to get out of
the way.
Unfortunately, Belial ( ベリエール - Scythe's offsider and
his main source of blood) is a bit angry at you for
apparently killing her lover, and draws you into a
dimensional flux.
At Barnak Base, August ( アウグスト - the white haired guy)
reveals that Scythe isn't a Noble Red at all - he just
thinks he is. Falmel ( ファルメル - the woman ) isn't too
surprised. She'd thought Scythe's ability to walk in
the daylight was strange, considering the legends of
the Noble Reds.
In truth - the brown-haired Lambda ( ラムダ ) reveals -
Scythe drew his power from the blood that he drank
from Belial. So, Belial is the true power of the
couple.
After this happy information (remembering that she's
more than mildly annoyed with you right now), you'll
confront Belial. After some promises of torture, she
leaves you to wallow for a while.
==--====--==
Van der Veltram ( ヴンダーヴェルトラム )
[ST013]
Floor 1
Alright - you're in some sort of dimensional pocket
which has sucked in various bits of debris from the
air carrier.
Head North along the pipe. There's a Break Point on
the way, to the left. Touch the blue crystal to the
North-East to exit.
==--==
Floor 2
There is a line of Accelerator Gyara starting on the
ship to the left. Taking the left or right path will
get you to the North crystal. Touch it to exit.
==--==
Floor 3
Accelerator coins here. Time your jumps here for when
the platforms are lower. Touch the crystal to the left
to exit.
==--==
Floor 4
Go to the South-West and then West to find a switch.
Step on it to make a bridge to the exit in the South-East
corner. Go to the South-East, and touch the crystal to
exit.
==--==
Floor 3
Head right until you're on the floating bit of tarmac,
then take the lower way to the left - careful, there's
a moving piece of debris here that can push you off
the edge (you can just jump over it, though). Touch
the crystal at the end to exit.
==--==
Floor 4
Make your way left over the plane wings, then South,
then left again. There are Accelerator Gyara here.
Touch the switch to the South-West to move a bridge
near the exit crystal to the North-West. Head North-West
to the exit crystal and touch it to exit.
==--==
Floor 5
Head West, jumping over the debris where necessary. You'll
soon get a conversation scene, followed by a fight with
some critters ( クリッター ) - this fight is no more difficult
than any other random encounter around here. After the
battle, head West and touch the crystal to exit.
==--==
Floor 6
There are Accelerator Gyara to the North. Head North and
walk on the switch. Go back to where you started and head
West. There's another switch to the very West of the big
hole in the large floor section. Activate that, then take
the new path to the North. Touch the crystal at the end
of that path to exit.
==--==
Floor 5
You'll have to time your jumps here to catch the moving
platforms/crates/other debris. At the end, after crossing
a couple of moving platforms, you'll need to double-jump
onto a large crate, then jump up to the left to continue.
After that is 3 cogs that act like ferris wheels, turning
counter-clockwise. The second cog is blocked at the top,
so you'll have to move clockwise - jumping from platform
to platform on that cog, working against the rotation to
get past.
Touch the crystal past the cogs to exit.
==--==
Floor 6
Head South, then West. There's a Break Point here, and a
Shop Box as well.

So, nothing different from the previous shop. Note that
this is the last place you can buy Revive Fruits for
quite a while (although you will meet monsters along
the way that you can try to steal them from, or get
them as item drops)
I would suggest saving your game here. When you're ready,
head West and touch the crystal to exit.
==--==
Floor 7
Head South-West to confront Belial. She's still a little
angry about the whole crushing Scythe with exploding planes
thing.
Belial ( ベリエール )
Level: 16
HP: 9250
XP: 360
Gyara: 280
can summon:
Distortion ( ディストーション )
Level: 16
HP: 5270
XP: 10
Gyara: 10
As mentioned above, Belial can and will summon a Distortion
as soon as she can. The Distortion acts as a meat shield -
as long as it's alive, you'll only do damage to it, not
Belial. And when you defeat it, Belial will summon another
one as soon as it's her turn again. The key to this battle
is to keep an eye on the Battle Order at the bottom of
the screen. If you know that the Distortion is only one
hit away from destruction, but you see that Belial is next
in the battle order, then don't attack - heal, guard, or
so something else. If Belial is down the battle order a
bit, then kill the Distortion off and get in some hits on
her while she's unprotected.
Other than that, box her in. Surround her while she's in
an outer Hex, and cast Slowdown and Fragile on her.
Using Yulie to summon attack Guardians can be handy, as
it will hit Belial for damage, even if the Distortion is
alive as well. Otherwise, Raquel+Interlude+A big sword=
major damage.
After the fight, head South-West and touch the crystal
there to exit.
==--==
Floor 8
Head South, then East and touch the crystal to exit.
==--==
Floor 9
Here's where it gets interesting. Head East. You'll see a
countdown counter start after a couple of steps. Use
Accelerator to give yourself enough time, and hurry
East. Touch the crystal at the end to exit.
==--==
Floor 10
Head East again, using Accelerator once the the timer
starts again. Touch the crystal at the end to exit.
==--==
Floor 11
East again, then jump up onto the blurry pipe above
the steps. Jump right onto the platform above - that's
where the countdown will begin again. Accelerate, get
to the crystal at the end and touch it to exit.
==--==
Floor 12
East again. There's Accelerator Gyara here - use
Accelerator to get to the end in time.
==--==
Slowest in battle, slowest out of it, I guess. Raquel
falls behind, and does the usual "leave me, save
yourselves" line. Arnaud won't have it, though, and
drags her to safety.
After that, you'll face Belial again.
Belial ( ベリエール )
Level: 16
HP: 9900
XP: 420
Gyara: 300
can summon:
Distortion ( ディストーション )
Level: 16
HP: 5270
XP: 10
Gyara: 10
It's probably worth using a Lucky Card here, since you
all start in the same Hex. Use the same tactics as last
time - surround her, Fragile/Slowdown, use Jude and Raquel
to attack (and hold off killing the Distortion if Belial's
turn is coming up next), and SUmmon when you can.
After your victory, you'll get a Brunak Base interlude. After
the interlude, you'll return to your party, who return to
real space.
==--====--==
Sudden Sea of Trees ( 無間樹海 )
[ST014]
Floor 1
Head East, jumping over tree roots where need be. Exit
to the East.
==--==
Floor 2
Head East. When you approach the Break Point, your Party
decides to have a rest (and a meal). Silliness ensues,
and you'll meet Gown ( ガウン ) - a very, very hungry
adventurer. He'll join your party as an NPC (he doesn't
appear in battles).
After the cutscene, you can continue on your way. If you
use the Break Point and select the last option, you'll be
given a yes/no question on whether you want to try breaking
the Break Point (turning on the ENC toggle). If you choose
the first option, you'll fight 2 Gomora Toads, and 2 Sexton
(all of whom are in Detonation! mode). If you win, you'll
clear the Break Point and have the ENC toggle for this area.
This is also the first area I found where I could regularly
encounter Grow Apples. If you're unfamiliar with them, Grow
Apples are special monsters that will always be killed by
the first attack that you do on them. The trick is that they
will be worth as many XP as the damage that you did to them
in that one attack. I found them about 1 in every 10 fights
in the water just to the right of the Break Point.
When you're ready, head East and exit East.
==--==
Floor 3
Head East. Keep going East until you reach a guy lying on
the ground. When you reach him, you'll get a conversation
where you decide to get the man to a doctor. After the
conversation, you'll be back on the World Map.

4.0 APPENDICES
[IND4]
==--====--====--====--====--====--==
==--====--====--====--==
APPENDIX 1: CHARACTERS
[APP1]
==--====--====--====--==
The following information details the characters in your party,
including the skills they use. An explanation of some game terms
comes first:
Force Ability (フォースアビリティ):
These abilities cost 25 FP to use (1 red bar on the gauge). Note that
Force Points are shared in this game, unlike in previous Wild Arms
games where each character had individual FP. Force abilities are
available from the top right icon in the battle menu.
Personal Skills:
Each character has personal skills that are gained as they level up.
Each skill enhances the character's abilities in some way. Some skills
are passive - every time that the skill may be brought into use, there
is a chance it may be used. For example, if a character has a counter-
attack skill, there is a chance that the skill may activate every time
that character is attacked. Some Personal Skills are not passive - they
must be manually used. These skills are called Original Commands.
Original Commands:
Personal skills that cost MP to use. Each character has their own list of
Original abilities that they'll gain as they level up. These skills are
available from the top left icon in the battle menu. It's very important
to remember that Original Commands that cause some sort of status (eg
halving accuracy, or causing poison damage) targets the Hex, not the
people. If a person leaves that Hex, they are no longer affected by the
status-effect. If your character enters a Hex with the Status effect,
then they will become affected by it (unless they resist the effects)
GC Graph:
Once you have 4 characters, you'll have a GC Graph option in your menu
(top left icon) - you can use this command to acquire Personal Skills
earlier than you would by waiting to level up to the skill's pre-
requisite level. To do so, select GC Graph, then the person you wish
to use, then use the directional button to go to the skill you wish
to spend points on. Then, use the right button (add points) and left
button (take away GC Points) as needed. You will have as many GC
Points to spend as your character's level (a level 20 character
would have 20 GC Points)
Statistics:
An explanation of Character Stats are as follows (note with all stats
that the higher it is, the better):
HP
Hit Points. Stock standard RPG stat - when your HP runs out, your
character is incapacitated. If all characters' HP runs out (or
they're petrified), then it's game over. HP heals at the end of
battles in this game. If your character does get incapacitated
(and you don't revive them), you'll notice at the end of the
battle that their HP is white, not blue. In this case, you can use
a Nectar to increase their HP back to maximum.
MP
Magic Points. Used for casting Original Skills. Not used for Force
Abilities - FP (Force Points) are used for that. Recovered at Break
Points (save points)
FP
Use for casting force abilities. Standard Force abilities require
25 FP, other abilities (Combination Arts) will require more. Builds
during each battle, not transferable to the next battle. FP is shared
by the group - there's one Force Gauge for the entire party.
攻撃 (Attack)
Your potential for damaging opponents (minus enemies defense and other
factors) when you hit them.
命中 (Accuracy)
Your chance of hitting. This stat can be affected by the weapon you're
wielding.
回避 (Evasion)
Your chance of completely dodging an attack (not getting hit at all). This
stat can be affected by the armour you're wearing.
魔力 (Magic Power)
How powerful/how much damage your magical attacks are/does.
防御 (Defense)
How much damage you take if you do get hit.
抵抗 (Resistance)
How much damage you take from magical attacks (and affects chance of being
hit by certain magical attacks).
反応 (Reaction)
Your speed. The higher the reaction, the more goes you will get in battle.
ATP
Attack Power (Weapon stat). The higher it is, the more damage you do.
ACN
Action (weapon stat). How quickly you can use your weapon, and thus how
many turns you'll get in battle.
DFP
Defense Points/Power (armour stat)
. The higher it is, the
less damage you take from physical attacks.
MGR
Magic Resistance (armour stat). The higher it is, the less damage you take
from magical attacks.

Age: 13

攻撃 (Attack) |B-
命中 (Accuracy) |A
回避 (Evasion) |C
魔力 (Magic Power)|D
防御 (Defense) |B
抵抗 (Resistance) |C
反応 (Reaction) |A
The main character. His magic power isn't great, but then again he's
a physical attacker, so it shouldn't matter. High reaction means he
gets a lot of turns in the combat order. He also has the Mystic
ability, which he can use to heal everyone on the field with Heal
Berrys and the such, so like most main protaganists, he's fairly
well rounded.
Jude's ARM is made of some form of malleable metal, which is why
you'll see it transforming from his normal handgun to rifles or
even swords in some of his original abilities and combination arts.
=--=
Force Ability: Mystic (ミスティック)
After using this ability, Jude can then use an item, and have its
effect go over all Hexes, rather than 1.

Arnaud's attack stats aren't very impressive, but his magic power is.
Arnaud is your magic attacker, with a range of combat spells making him
quiet useful. He also has decent HP, allowing him to take more of a
battering than Yulie, and therefore allowing him to stick himself in
the front row (especially when coupled with his very good evasion). His
high reaction means that he'll get a good number of turns in a battle.
=--=
Force Ability: Jump (ジャンプ)
Allows Arnaud (and any companions in his Hex) to jump to any other empty
Hex no matter how far away (normally characters can only move one Hex).

命中 (Accuracy) |C
回避 (Evasion) |D
魔力 (Magic Power)|B+
防御 (Defense) |C-
抵抗 (Resistance) |A
反応 (Reaction) |C
Your standard defensive magic user. HP, evasion and defense are all low,
so you'll want to not stick her in the front row if you can avoid it. Her
average reaction means that she'll get less turns in combat than Jude or
Arnaud, but she is the character with access to both healing spells and
the ability to summon (which gives her a combat edge). Also gets useful
anti-undead attack spells.
=--=
Force Ability: Material (マテリアル)
Material allows Yulie to use the Material Drive (マテリアルドライブ) -
the armband on her left wrist) to access Guardian Programs.
In other words, this ability lets Yulie summon Guardians.
Summoning is a lot easier to detail than in previous games. When you
wish to summon, and have the 25 FP to do so, take note of the Hex
that Yulie is standing in. If it is a Ley Point (red, blue, etc) it
will have a different effect as so:
Red: Summons Code:M Guardian (Fire attack, all Hexes)
Blue: Summons Code:S Guardian (Water attack, all Hexes)
Green: Summons Code:F Guardian (Wind attack, all Hexes)
Yellow: Summons Code:G Guardian (Earth attack, all Hexes)
Grey: Summons Code:O Guardian (Heals your party)
(Note that if you get sick of the summoning cutscenes, you can skip
them with START)
Force Ability: High Material ( ハイ・マテリアル )
Technically, this is a Combination Art, but it is listed here in case
you don't check the Combination Arts section. A more powerful version
of Material, see the description in the Combination Arts section.

Raquel
[CHR4]
==--====--==
Raquel Applegate (ラクウェル・アップルゲイト)
Age: 19
Weapon: Bastard Sword (バスタードソード)
HP |C
MP |C
攻撃 (Attack) |A+
命中 (Accuracy) |B
回避 (Evasion) |B
魔力 (Magic Power)|B-
防御 (Defense) |A
抵抗 (Resistance) |D
反応 (Reaction) |D-
Slow and strong. As you can see, Raquel is your frontline attacker. She
doesn't get as much HP as the guys, but her Attack Power is unmatched.
She is, however, slow (as her Reaction indicates), meaning that she
gets less turns in battle than the others. Luckily, her Force Ability
was designed to compensate for this.
Raquel's swords have highly extendable hilts, which makes them look like
long spears when she extends the hilt in some of her combination arts and
original abilities.
To put it simply, Raquel is powerful - perhaps bordering on too
powerful. She can do tremendous damage, and her Force Ability (see
below) is perhaps more than a little abuseable. This is probably why
the game creators gave her low HP and Reaction, in order to try to
balance out her Uber qualities.
=--=
Force Ability: Interlude (イントルード)
Allows Raquel to enter multiple commands. For example, if you look down
at the Battle Order at the bottom of the battle screen, you might see:
- Raquel, Arnaud, Enemy, Yulie, ...... -
If you use Interlude, the battle order would now be:
- Raquel, Raquel, Arnaud, Enemy, Yulie, ..... -
So, in essence, it gives Raquel an extra turn in combat. Now, the obvious
trick you can do here, if you have a lot of FP saved up, is to:
Use Interlude (now has 2 turns in a row in combat)
Use Interlude again (now has 3 turns in a row in combat)
Use Interlude again (now has 4 turns in a row in combat)
And so on until you run out of FP. You can even find yourself
getting 6 or 7 or more turns in a row with Raquel. This is
because you can get 5 maximum attacks in a row (1 normal +
4 extra if you had 100 FP), but each attack that Raquel does
gets you more FP, which means that on Raquel's last turn, you might
have gathered enough FP again to get another Interlude or two.

APPENDIX 2: Items and Equipables
[APP2]
==--====--====--====--====--====--==
==--====--====--====--==
Items
[ITMS]
==--====--====--====--==
Items are split into 6 categories:
- Field Items: Useable only outside of battle.
- Battle Items: Useable only while in battle.
- Weapons (see seperate entry below)
- Armour (see seperate entry below)
- Badges (see seperate entry below)
- Books: Gives tips on skills/commands.
==--==
FIELD ITEMS
Field items are usuable on the field only. In other words, you
can use it while moving Jude around, or while on the World Map
but you cannot use them while in Combat. Most Field Items are
greyed out in the items menu - these items are only useable
in certain siutations,and you will be prompted in game when
you need to use them. For example, if you had a key that
needed to be used, you'd be asked if you want to use it when
you try to open the relevant locked door - you wouldn't need
to go into your item menu and manually use it.
Alter Parts ( アルターパーツ )
Used to upgrade Jude's ARM.
Dragon Fossil ( ドラゴンフォシル )
Used to upgrade Jude's ARM.
Duplicator ( デュプリケイター )
Opens Duplicator Chests (chests with a blue glow) and Duplicator
Doors (doors with a gold patterned appearance). To use them, just
try to open the door/chest, and the game will ask you a yes/no
question on whether you want to use up 1 Duplicator. Select the
first response to say yes.
Extra Challenge ( エクストラチャレンジ )
Used to play Extra Challenge Game Roms. You need to get Gold Stars
on the Extra Challenge Games to get Ex File #9.
Nectar ( ネクタール )
Restores HP to maximum. You'd normally only use this if one of
your characters died in battle, and you hadn't revived them before
you won the fight.
==--==
BATTLE ITEMS
All items below are useable in combat only. When used, the item
affects only the targeted Hex (unless specifically stated
otherwise). If Jude's Force Ability (Mystic) is used, then the
item used with Mystic will affect all Hexes (affecting all
allies for boosting/healing items, or affecting all enemies
for attack items). I've broken the list of battle items up
into two sections: ALLY and ATTACK items. Attack items
are used to harm or hinder enemies in some way, Ally items
are used to heal or bolster allies in some way.

Weapons
[WPNS]
==--====--====--====--==
Things you use to apply physical trauma to others with. In shops, you'll
often have to choose between weapons with higher attack power, or ones
that allow you to act more often in battle.
Weapons usually affect 3 stats:
ATP
Attack Power (Weapon stat). The higher it is, the more damage you do.
ACN
Action (weapon stat). How quickly you can use your weapon, and thus how
many turns you'll get in battle.
命中 (Accuracy)
Your chance of hitting. This adds (or subtracts) to your character's
Accuracy stat, it's not seperate from your main stats like the two above.

Armour
[ARMR]
==--====--====--====--==
Stuff you wear to reduce the damage you take. When you go into shops,
you'll probably notice that each character usually has at least 2 different
armours they can buy - one set of armour usually has higher resistance to
physical damage, while the other has higher resistance to magical damage.
The three stats that armour normally affects are:
DFP
Defence Protection. The higher it is, the less damage you take from
physical attacks.
MGR
Magical Resistance. The higher it is, the less damage you take from
magical attacks.
回避 (Evasion)
How well you can dodge an attack completely. This adds (or subtracts)
directly from your Character's Evasion stat, it's not a seperate stat
like the two above.

Badges
[BDGS]
==--====--====--====--==
Badges? We don't need no stinking badges. Seriously, though, Badges are
equipable items that give certain effects. It may be bonuses to your
critical rate in combat, it may raise your random encounter rate, or
it may add 10 points to one of your stats - it all depends on the badge.
Each badge has a ranking, which is intended to show how good it is in
comparison to other badges. Badges are listed by their order in the
badge order list (which you can see by pressing Square on the World
Map) - they are not listed alphabetically.

APPENDIX 3: Extras
[APP3]
==--====--====--====--====--====--==
==--====--====--====--==
Extra 1: Combination Arts
[EXT1]
==--====--====--====--==
Combination Arts are where two or more characters combine their
abilities to produce a special effect. Most but not all combination
arts are attacks. Combination Arts must be learned before they can
be used. To do so, wait until you have all 4 characters (I tried
without success to get arts before having all 4 characters- if it
works for you please advise). Get into combat, and have at least 2
characters in one hex (although you can have 3 or 4 in the one hex
as well). Then, simply guard and wait. Once your Force Guage reaches
the same point where you'd be able to cast a Combination Art (50 FP for
a 2 person combo, 75 FP for a 3 person, 100 FP for a 4 person), there
is a random chance that you may learn a Combination Art.
You may learn a Combination Art the first round after you have 50 FP,
or you may have to wait dozens of turns - there appears to be no set
formula (although in my case I did learn the first 6 or so
Combination Arts very quickly, and my gain rate slowed after that).
You will know when you have learned a Combination Art, as the
characters who will be involved in the CA will get into a short
conversation. Once they do this, you will see the new Art in your
Force Abilities (top right icon in battle menu)
==--==
Combination Arts - 2 Characters (cost 50 FP):
Jude + Yulie
Rouse Strike (ラウズストライク) - Straight Line Attack, up to 2 Hexes -
Offensive Power 1000.
Jude + Arnaud
Blade Diver (ビレードダイバー) - Any enemy Hex - Offensive Power 840.
Jude + Raquel
Dual Brand (デゥアルブランド) - Adjacent Hex - Offensive Power 1550.
Yulie + Arnaud
Sorcery Grenade (ソーサリグレネード) - Any enemy Hex - non elemental attack.
Offensive Power 1130.
Yulie + Raquel
Mind Recovery (マインドリカバリー) - Recovers companions' MP. Resiliance 40
Arnaud + Raquel
Genocide Edge (ジェノサイドエッジ) - All Hexes - Damage and Instant
Death attack. Offensive Power 750
==--==
Combination Arts - 3 Characters (cost 75 FP):
Jude + Yulie + Arnaud
Magus Cannon ( マギウスキャノン ) - All Hexes - Non elemental attack.
Offensive Power 1030
Jude + Yulie + Raquel
Cyclone Wheel ( サイクロンホイール ) - All Surrounding Hexes - Offensive
Power 925.
Jude + Arnaud + Raquel
Riot Fencer ( ライアットフェンサー ) - Adjacent Hex - Offensive Power 1720.
Yulie + Arnaud + Raquel
Retreat Wave ( リトリートウェイブ ) - All Hexes - Reaction 100 down. Cancels
actions. Offensive Power 950.
==--==
Combination Arts - 4 Characters (cost 100 FP):
High Material ( ハイ・マテリアル )
Yulie summons a Guardian based on the element of the Hex she's
standing in. Same effects as normal Summon, except more powerful.
Offensive Power (for Ley Points) 1220. Resiliance (for non
elemental Ley Points) 500.
Note that this is a combination art, and as such requires all 4
characters to be in the Hex for Yulie to use it - she's using
their combined power to create the high summon.
==--====--====--====--==
Extra 2: Ex Files
[EXT2]
==--====--====--====--==
When you go to the load screen, you'll see that there is an option
there for Ex file ( Exファイル ). If you select that option, you'll be

get certain bonuses if you meet certain conditions. Firstly, the

Extra 3: The Arena
[EXT3]
==--====--====--====--==
The Arena is located in Nightless City Gyara Bobehro, at
the very end of Floor 3.
Each battle has its own requirements for victory. When you
select a particular battle, you will have to pay an entrance
fee. If you win, you will receive a victory prize (but no XP).
Defeat in a battle will return you to the Arena menu (so
you don't die, but you will obviously lose your entry money)
There are a total of 30 battles. In addition to the individual
prizes, you also receive prizes for winning x amount of battles:
10 battles: Badge - Silver Sun
20 battles: Alter Parts
30 battles: Badge - Goat Doll
1:
Cost: 5000 Gyara
Prize: 7500 Gyara
Enemy: Bazuzuu ( パズズゥ )
Level: 50
HP: 35250
Weak: Against Earth
At the moment, this information is just a placeholder - I'll
update the Arena FAQ properly in the next update.
