Let's get started....
Update: Spruced up the messy text and got rid of the intros, which I
thought were kind of stupid.

1. E X P L A N A T I O N
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will be telling you the GP amount for each rank on every difficulty,
for example...
E means Easy, N means Normal, and H means Hard, I think you get the idea.
Also I have catagorized individual sets of ranks that seem to relate to each
other in ascending (or DE scending) order. The catagories will be explained
as you get to them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. ' L O W L I F E ' R A N K S
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2a. H E R E T I c
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GP scale - E: 05 N: 10 H: 10
Here's how you get it...
- In the beginning, walk right by Tsubohachi abducting Suzu so as to not care,
in other other words, condone what he is doing. And head to the station.
- Next go kick around Kurikichi. (not optional!) Then head to Ipponmatsu and
to Dojima's Smithy.
- Walk up to him and say the following:
"I want my sword worked on."
"Yes, please."
"I would like it improved."
"Sharpness."
OR
"Flexibility."
"Yes, please."
When he finishes say
"No, I won't pay you!"
- He'll proceed to killing you, let him. If it pleases you call him a miser
and a bespectled worm while he's going feudal on you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2b. D E L I N Q U E N T
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GP scale - E: 10 N: 10 H: 10
Here's how you get it...
- As the game opens up and you see the opening movie of your character
entering the pass, hold the control stick forward so that when the movie
ends you can start running immediatly. When it ends, hurry over to the
bridge as fast as possible so you can witness the kidnapping of Suzu
from the beginning, again, hold the control pad forward, and when the movie
ends, run past Suzuand Tsubohachi before they can give you a second glance
(meaning, the only text you should hear as you run by should be
"Please help...") and head to the station.
- Run over to Kurikichi and without a word kick him 5 times. Draw your sword
and head to Ipponmatsu.
- Run over to the smithy and enter a just as far as you dare go before Dojima
starts talking to you. Then use a thrust attack or something similiar so you hit
him without hearing his little acquaintence speech. (I.e. stand close enough to
Dojima so that you can attack him before he makes with the small talk he usually
does)
- Let him kill you, say nothing.
Note: You must follow these directions exactly as they are told, if you slip up
on any you might get Heretic.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2c. P U N K
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GP scale - E: 10 N: 20 H: 20
Here's how you get it...
- This is an easy one, from the start, draw your sword and hack Suzu off
Tsubohachi's shoulder. Then, don't say a word and let him kill you,
you'll get it for sure.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. ' R E G U L A R ' R A N K S
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3a. I N E X P E R I E N C E D
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GP scale - E: 20 N: 30 H: 30
Here's how you get it...
- This rank is effortless, from the start hop over the ledge into the river,
then rush to the foundry.
- At the foundry hurry up the latter and pass by silently to the railroad.
- When the screen starts to load while getting to the railroad, hold forward
on the control stick. When you get there rush over to the bridge and hop off
the first opening you find, then hurry to the bridge, don't let go yet! Climb
up the latter (You'll just dodge the train if you followed what I said, (why
bother? Because, if you're hit, it'll waste precious gaming seconds!
Uuuwee-hee-hee!). Then hurry over to the pass exit. Proceed to leave.
Note: This is the easiest rank to get. If you paid close attention to
everything I said, you'll get this rank within 50 seconds (I'm right,
I timed it...). An easy 30 GP if I do say so myself.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3b. O R D I N A R Y
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GP scale - E: 20 N: 40 H: 60
Here is how you get it on Easy...
- Immediatly ignore Tsubohachi and Suzu and enter the shrine, avoiding this
situation completely.
- Return to the bridge and eavesdrop on the Government Agent and Inokashira,
once they finish, let Inokashira leave the bridge peacefully, meaning leave
him alone, and do not attack him. Once he leaves, follow him to the station.
- At the station draw your weapon, enter Amaguri. Don will insist that you
sheath your weapon, keep the weapon out and run at Don. He'll unsheath his
sword and duel with you, make absolutely sure that you emerge victorious,
and make absolutely sure you don't utter any cruel wordsduring the battle
(keep silent), and the two will flee. Follow them to the bridge.
- You will spot Don at the bridge, ignore him and re-enter the station.
- At the station, you will spot an Akadama man harassing Kurikichi, and the
corrupt pig Inokashira making no attempt at all to cease this battery. Make
him pay, whip out your weapon and chase down Inokashira avoiding Kurikichi
and his bully so you do not involve yourself with them. When you get
so close to Inokashira with your weapon unsheathed, he will about face and
begin questioning you,
Here is how you get it on Normal and Hard...
- From the beginning, keep your sword sheathed and run to the bridge, wait
until you hear Tsubohachi grunt, count to two and run at them to activate the
movie at the point where Suzu is abducted. When you meet up with them say the
following...
"Stop it right now."
"Prove it."
Kill two punks and defeat Tsubohachi. Keep quiet during the battle. When he
gives in say the
following...
"...Ok."
Draw your sword and say...
"I'm not interested."
When Suzu approaches you say...
"Are you all right?"
"I appreciate your offer."
When Suzu leaves, follow her to the station.
- At the station, enter amaguri, when you are greeted, say...
"Will it be ready soon?"
Once you've sat down with Don, listen to him and say...
"Good."
"...That's commendable."
"Yes."
"I feel the same as you do."
When Shiretoko enters with his two lackies say
"Leave!"
Kill the two punks and beat Shiretoko, keep quiet during this battle as well.
When Shiretoko tries
to get you to join Kurou, say...
"I refuse!"
He will leave and you will be confronted by Don and Suzu. When they're near,
say...
"He was too easy to defeat."
"Yes."
After that conversation, follow Don to the bridge.
- At the bridge, walk over to Don and say...
"What are you doing?"
"An omelet with rice."
When he leaves, get out of his way and head to the shrine.
- At the shrine, walk over to the entrance and walk up to the forth step,
you'll see Toyoko, kick him and draw your sword. Well dear readers, it's time
to die, allow Toyoko to kill you.
Note 2: Aside from the little difficulty differences to this rank, it is one of
my favorites, an
easy 60 GP if you ask me...

4a. R I C H S A M U R A I
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GP scale - E: 100 N: 250 H: 350
Um - not much to say; A samurai with a lotta dough?
This is a quantity rank, you need over 200 yen to get it....
Here is an example...
- From the beginning, skip the bit at the bridge and head to the shrine, then
to Ipponmatsu.
- At Ipponmatsu, head right to the Kurou residence.
- At the residence, tell Tsubohachi...
"I want to join you."
Then enter the residence.
- Inside, head up to the eastate's main entrance and talk to Tesshin and
Murasaki. Stay silent until they choose to put you up against Shiretoko.
Here's where it depends on what you do...
The more of these tips you can successfully pull off, the more yen Murasaki's
going to give you...
- Try not to get hit much
- Don't move out of Tesshin's vision at all.
- Try to skillfully defeat Shiretoko, meaning, awase often and counter with
brilliant attacks, for example, you can awase him when he is trying to
'test you' (using weak moves) then counterwith an air move, then a sword
breaker move, (i.e, issen, et cetera).
- If Shiretoko ever locks up (stands there gaurding) don't just throw a bunch
of strong attacks at him, try to lower his gaurd so you can reiterate on the
air combos and such.
- The most yen you can possibly get from this battle, is 80, only I am going
on speculation, the most I have ever gotten is 70. If you get 70 though, that's
perfect, if you mess this one a bit and only get, say, 30, that is ok too, you
can make up for it, trust me. Just don't lose, that will mess everything up...
- Afterwards, leave the residence without another word, and head to the shrine
through Ipponmatsu.
- At the shrine, walk up to Shiretoko and say...
"Very well."
- Once at the station, you will be instructed on what needs to happen, stay
silent for the remainder
of this mission.
- When you get to amaguri, let the conflict go down, when it is your turn to
mess up the place, do so. Here some more tips for getting the maximun amount
of yen out of this situation...
- When you're told to throw stuff around, really go wild, the more stuff you
spread out, the more yen you get.
- Try throwing everything you can outside. Then throwing the stuff around when
it is outside,
just don't stray too far away, or you'll tick off Shiretoko and get 0 yen...
- Don't kick Suzu! You can kick Don or anyone else, just not Suzu! If you do
you'll ruin the eviction and have to fight Don, and get, you guessed it, 0 yen.
- When you're finished, SAY NOTHING TO ANYONE. Just follow the gang back to
home base. Remember, we're back to square one if you totally screw this up.
- The most yen you get out of this is, I believe, 70. Again, speculation, the
most I've ever gotten is 60... When the party goes its separate ways, head to
Ipponmatsu, then to the residence.
- At the residence, talk to the gaurd and say...
"I've been given a job."
- Now you'll meet up with Shiretoko again, you can say anything you want at
this mission... just don't say "I'm leaving." when given the option at the
start of the 'Kitcho conference'....
-Here are some tips for this mission...
- Don't run away or go too far from the group, or Shire' will get pissed...
if you get too far away, I don't belive it affects the yen amount. But, if
you leave, can you guess? If you guessed 0 yen, you were right.
- Actually, I think it's more your choice as to the amount rather than what
you do specifically, when you're given the option to run away with Kintaro
by Shiretoko, if you do run, you get 20 yen, if you stay and fight, you get 50.
- If you drop past half of your stamina, the option opens up again to leave,
don't, or else, well let's just say the words, zip, and yen come to mind. You
can, however, if you're about to die, and can afford it (i.e you did well on
the previous 2 missions).
- If you were successfull in protecting Kintaro, Tessh' will give you a
little present of 50 yen, if you ran, he'll scold you for not being
aggressive enough, and only give you 20 yen(which in this case, isn't
enough to make a significant difference). Afterwards he'll begin to talk
about Kitcho and the foundry, make some small talk with him about if
you'd like, if not, hop over the wall over in the corner, then onto the
house, then over the outer wall. Then go to the station through Ipponmatsu.
- At the station, head to amaguri and you'll run into Suzu, say the
following...
"What are you doing?"
"...Tell me."
"It depends on the reward."
"Money, I mean money." (You only get 3 yen, but who cares? We're after money
here, not tang.) "I have accepted your mission."
- You'll be transported to the residence, once there, run through the place
killing people as you go, (we were unable to talk to Toyoko this time, so
what else're you gonna do?) go through the main entrance to kill Tsubohachi
(god bless the bastard), we just don't have any time for that business at
the exit, soon you're gonna be runnin' away with the decisive amount for
the title, miss this, and you probably won't get enough yen. Now head to the
back room where Don is with your sword drawn, stay silent and hear what he
says, you'll need to kill him for the yen. Do so and grab the chest in the
back of the room... here's an easy escape plan...
- Leave the estate via the closest entrance to your current position, then run
off the nearby bridge. Run to the supply house near the main gate of the
residence, run behind it, up it, and off the outer wall. This part's tricky,
you may run into some resistance when you get around to the exit, so manuever
around them, don't fight them, if you find you're getting hit near the
exit, make sure the chest doesn't get knocked too far back into the exit area,
if it does, it'll be behind the exit and you won't be able to get it, you'll
just automatically leave and thus, zippo yen. If you're successfull however,
there's one more part and you're home free. At Ipponmatsu, we have to avoid
Tesshin, we want to steal this right out from under his nose, so move around
the parimeter in a fashion that hugs the walls, Dojima's smithy will be a
checkpoint, once there, move a bit further forward, and Tesshin will start to
move toward you, just keep running towards the exit and don't look back, if you
get caught that's ok too, just be prepared to fight, if you do however, get
caught and be beaten by Tesshin, you know what that means right? Z-e-r-o
yen-a-moundo. If you get caught and win, just leave the pass the next day. If
not, you can join up with Tesshin, and finish the game to get an ending in the
process. Anyway, after you get back to the station, you'll deliver Suzu the
'bad news', when finished, head to the railroad. It's all up to you from here on
out, if you weren't caught by Tesshin, go to the foundry and fight the Gov't.
If you were, leave the pass. It's your decision, but I wouldn't risk it, you
just did all that work... oops, almost forgot to mention, that's 120 yen in
your pocket for the residence mission...
- Well, that was longer than expected, huh? If you successfully did all these
to the best of your ability, you'll get, at most, 310 yen... more than enough to
get Rich Samurai...
There are many ways to get this rank.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4a. R A N D O M S L A S H E R
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GP scale - E: 100 N: 150 H: 250
It's one of those quantity ranks... you need 180 kills to get it.
This is the easiest way to get it.
- From the start, jump over the side and into the river, then head to the
foundry.
- At he foundry, ascend the latter over at the edge of the wall-ish area, and
walk over to the guy standing near Arayashiki, say the following...
"Hi."
Draw your sword, play through the following battles, as you go along you will
be reminded of how many you have slain, it counts by 10's and 20's... when you
get to 100 kills, you will be stopped and given 10 yen.
- Ok great, 100 kills, now, walk back up to him and say the following...
"Hi."
Draw your sword (here we go again...) and you will gradually work your way back
to before, if you want to get to 200 kills that'll work too, but if you just
wanna get the damn rank, exit to the railroad when you get to 80.
- Be sure to hold forward on the control stick so you make sure you dodge the
train (dear readers, we've been through this train avoiding instance many a time
have we not?), and head to the exit, once there, proceed to leaving.
There are many ways to get this rank.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4c. T H E B E A S T K I N G
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GP scale - E: 50 N:100 H:200
Here's how you get it...
Note: For this rank it adds a suggestive touch to the rank if you kill everyone
you see, so be it a Kurou Punk, an Akadama clansman, a straw gaurd, et cetera,
et cetera, kill it.
- From the start, run to the bridge, when you see Tsubohachi, walk up to him
and say...
"Let me join you."
You'll be taken to the railroad and tied to the tracks.
- At the railroad, look up at Tsubohachi and say...
"Remember me, I'll make you pay for this."
- Wiggle around and await rescue. When Kitcho comes down to you, say...
"What do you think I'm doing?!"
"Yes, I'll join you, so help me."
Afterwards, in the middle of settling up with your rescuers, draw your sword
and say...
"I've changed my mind."
- After the ordeal, keep your sword out and run to the station.
- At the station, with your sword out, head to amaguri, sheath your sword when
Don tells you to. He will tell you to leave, look at Suzu and say...
"You shall die."
After that, a fight will insue, draw your sword and defeat Don, throw in some
nasty comments while you're at it. When you're finished with them, head to the
back room and beat around Kurikichi. Afterwards, head to Ipponmatsu.
- Time for a little fun... run over to Dojima's smithy, take out your blade,
and try to stab him before he is able to acquaint himself to you, then kill him.
During the fight, throw in some nasty comments, afterwards, wait around and kill
some passer-bys. Then head to the shrine.
- At the shrine, run up four steps, then turn around and kill Toyoko. Then
head to the bridge.
- At the bridge, lash out at Don and beat him senseless. Head to the Kurou
residence through the shrine, and Ipponmatsu.
- At the residence, walk up to the gaurd, and say...
"I'll stab you!"
Kill him, and exit to Ipponmatsu, then return to the residence. Walk up to the
gaurd, now say...
"I want to join you."
- Get acquainted with Shiretoko, listen to him and say...
"Sounds boring."
When the event begins, say to Shiretoko...
"Hey, I have nothing to do."
Then stray back until Shiretoko says you're too far away. Walk a bit further
back and wait until Kitcho appears. When he does, listen to the conversation
that ensues, when you get the chance, say...
"Come on, attack me!"
"I am leaving."
You'll be taken to the station.
- At the station, run over to amaguri where Suzu is. Walk up to her, say the
following...
"Oh, we meet again."
"...Tell me."
"It depends on the reward."
"Spend one night with me."
Afterwards, you'll be transported to the Kurou Residence.
- At the residence, draw your sword, and kill everyone around the parimeter.
Now run up to the front entrance of the estate, then run to the left. You
remember what we said about repaying Tsubohachi? Time for that. You'll see
him to the left, kill him (God bless the bastard). Head to the back of the
residence, where Don is, be silent with a sword out, kill him (god curse the
bastard). Now take the money, and run out using the only path unvisited yet.
Run out and drop off the bridge, if you see any punks, drop the chest, that
means it's clean-up time.
- After scouring the residence for any remaining resistence, pick up the
money, and leave the estate to Ipponmatsu.
- At Ipponmatsu, immediatly draw your sword, and pinpoint Tesshin, lash out
time. Nonetheless you must allow yourself to be beaten, make sure you throw
in some mean words to speed up the process, now head to the station.
- At the station, deliver the bad news to Suzu. Then head to the railroad.
- At the railroad, head for the akadama clan mansion.
- At the mansion, draw your sword and head for the back, lash out at Kitcho,
kick him, et cetera. he'll tell you to leave, do so.
- Head to the foundry through the railroad. At the foundry, run over to the
group of Kurous, say...
"I pledge my life to Kurou."
Tesshin will tell you to leave, do so.
You know when you're not wanted, leave the pass.

This is how you get it...
Note: Rumored Samurai and Samurai Apprentice are just a hair's length away in
similarity. This rank will require that you refer to Rumored Samurai at some
points. Begin at Rumored Samurai and read down until you get to certain points
mentioned in this explanation, once you finish doing something for Samurai
Apprentice, pick back up with Rumored Samurai at the point at which you are
advised.
Note 2: The following method will work only on easy mode, usage on normal mode
will yield Rumored Samurai...
- Follow Rumored Samurai until you reach this point...
- He will exit the area. Suzu will approach you, say the following...
- Draw your weapon, say...
"Leave all the money you have."
- Suzu will exit in fear, do not sheathe your sword, exit to the station.
- At the station, return to the bridge.
- And at the bridge return to the station.
- At the station, sheathe your sword and enter Amaguri. Don will tell you to
excuse yourself quickly. Look at Suzu and say...
"You shall die."
- Exit the station to Ipponmatsu, begin again at Rumored Samurai at the
following point...
- At Ipponmatsu, revolve 90 degrees, and return to the station.
Note: Everything else remains the same, you still are restricted to saying
nothing during battles.

GP scale - E: 30 N: 60
Here is how you get it on easy mode...
- Once you are acquainted with the beginning of Rokkotsu pass, and its flora
and fauna, proceed to the bridge. Once at the bridge, await Tsubohachi; Suzu in
hand. When he asks that you move, ignore him and continue to stand there, stand
there until he questions your hearing prowess. When he does, wait until you are
hit, then draw your weapon. Kill a lacky and strike Tsubohachi. Do not taunt
Tsubohachi, it taints your samurai honor! Defeat Tsubohachi. Sheathe your
weapon. He is impressed with all you have learned, and will request your
allegence, say...
"I'm not interested."
- He will exit the area. Suzu will approach you, say the following...
"Don't mention it."
"No thanks." (But I intend to dictate to you that you go anyway... that's the
beauty of irony)
- Exit the bridge to the station. Enter Amaguri, say...
"Yes, please."
- You will be seated with the 'legendary' Don-san, make conversation with
Don-sensei...
"Good."
"...that's commendable."
"Yes."
Look at Suzu and say... "Don't lose heart!"
- Shiretoko and his usual thugs will enter Amaguri, say nothing, do nothing,
simply stand there and witness the havoc being wreaked. Afterwards, Don will be
disappointed in you, say...
"...That was terrible."
"Who are they?"
- After everybody clears the area and the incident is virtually erased from
everyone's memory, exit the station for Ipponmatsu.
- At Ipponmatsu, revolve 90 degrees, and return to the station.
- At the station, watch the Akadama clansman abuse the Kurikichi until
Inokashira with no true use of his job enters the scene and says... nadda. Run
up to him until he notices you, say...
"Who are you to ask me who I am?
- He will inform you... he is Inokashira, lord of ass, now he'll begin
hounding you to pay him 10 yen for carrying your sword in defiance of the
all-mighty "Sword prohibition act'", which is ... apparently only effective if
you don't give the authorities money? Well, ignore him, until you get another
set of things to say, choose...
"I am not the only one who carries a sword."
- It won't work as you intended it to, he'll start relentlessly badgering you
for the payment again, and you, once again, are ordered to ignore his
patronizing ass. And now what... you begin unconciously attempting to fool
him... (you're an odd one, Inokashira, or is the poor translation just laying
down a heavy blow?) anyway... kick his sorry ass into next year! Eventually,
like, real quick, he'll call in his rotund excuse for an assistent, Jose. Say
to Jose...
"Who are you?"
- A battle will begin, (make sure you don't taunt anyone!) immediatly turn
your sights back to Inokashira, and defeat him, the two will retreat. Exit to
the bridge.
- At the bridge, ignore the fighting and head for the shrine.
- At the shrine, you will witness Murasaki ascending the shrine steps, follow
her. When you arrive at the top, run over to the two at once. In the beginning,
you will be given a set of things to say, do not say any of them, we want to
await Shiretoko's entrance. After this, Shiretoko will enter the scene, in
everyone's favor but your's. Murasaki will blame the situation on you, and
Shiretoko will abide by this excuse, becuase he's never seen you before, your
existence here has no real meaning to him, and it's easy to blame a stranger
for something. Nice one, Soichiro. Make a feeble attempt at uncovering the
truth, by saying...
"That's not true!"
- You'll begin a fight with all three (four, actually, including Jose)
denizens, (stay silent! I'm not even sure if you can say anything in this
battle, ah well, all the better), kill them! Kill them, the bloody gordons!!
After you finish them, exit the shrine to the bridge.
- At the bridge, head for the station.
- At the station, walk over to Amaguri, and you will meet Dojima, say...
"Yes, I am."
"What is it you want to tell me?"
- You will use Amaguri for cover from the prying eyes, and ears... you will
begin a conversation with Dojima involving the conspiracy that is going around,
say the following...
"Not at all"
"A puppeteer?"
"No, I don't."
"How do you know that?"
"For what reason?"
"Ok, I will help you."
- You will embark immediatly to destroy the gov't's quest for getting... free
industrial aid?? (it's not worth it! Or it might be a sadistic urge to see two
enraged clans tear eachother apart...) Anyway, at the bridge you will be
ambushed by Hyuga of the gov't ninjas. Say...
"Don't hurt the station!"
- A battle will begin, concentrate on Hyuga, and defeat him. At the end of the
battle, he will call you a fool, say...
"What do you mean by that?"
- The situation will be explained in great detail, although a point will not
be mentioned. Head to the station to intercept the gov't attack.
- At the station, you will receive a new mission, rescue Suzu! A battle will
result immediatly. Hack away a couple agents, and as a reply to Dojima's
surrogate job of handling the enemies here on his own, say...
"I'll leave them to you."
- You will exit to Ipponmatsu."
- At Ipponmatsu, preapre for more senseless fighting, nothing to do here but
kill. After you fell the intoductory agents, a larger wave will enter, kill.
You will advance to the Kurou residence.
- At the Kurou residence, tear through the two guard that watch the front gate
and enter the main area. Stop at the gate and move to the right, you will
notice a watchtower, climb up and jump off it onto the top of the outer-wall.
Move around it to the inner-area, and hop off, you will face two more guards,
eliminate them and move to the far back of the residence, Tsubohachi will be
there, say...
"Are you all right?'
"I think you've guessed the truth."
- Kill him, and don't concede. Now hurry to Suzu's aid! You will walk up a
ramp, and atop that ramp you will face two guards, kill them and move on to
Suzu. Tamagawa will throw a throng of agents at you, defeat them, and Tamagawa
will begin ending the age of the samurai using our own outdated ways (EXPLAIN
THIS TO ME, TAMAGAWA). Concentrate on him, and defeat him without a second
thought. This will stir up many rumors about you, samurai.
For normal mode...
- See Samurai Apprentice.

- From the beginning, run over to the edge of the pathway that leads below the
bridge and await Tsubohachi.
Make sure you aren't in his pathway so that he does not stop moving and insist
that you get out of his way. Don will enter the scene eventually, allow he and
Tsubohachi to begin fighting, then intervene by saying to Don...
"I will help you."
- Proceed to killing all three cronies and then defeating Tsubohachi. Say
nothing during the battle and say nothing afterwards. Simply leave so that you
hear Don's comment "To rescue a stranger and leave without even telling his
name...". Now head to the station.
- At the station, enter Amaguri and say the following...
"Yes, please."
- You will be seated... say the following...
"Good."
"Yes."
Look at Suzu and say "Don't lose heart."
- Soon Shiretoko and his cronies will appear. Walk over next to Shiretoko and
draw your weapon. Kill the two cronies and defeat Shiretoko. Make sure you say
naught during this battle, stay quiet. Say the following in response to his
plea for your assistence...
"I refuse!"
- Then say to Don and Suzu...
"What are they?"
Look at Don and say "Yes."
- Afterwards, exit the station to the bridge.
- At the bridge walk over to Don and listen to him until he says "Whew...".
Then walk up to him and say...
"What are you doing?"
"...a never-ending love."
- Move out of Don's path when he says so, then exit to the shrine.
- At the shrine walk up four steps towards the main temple, turn, and kill
Toyoko without a word. Exit the shrine to Ipponmatsu.
- At Ipponmatsu, head to the Kurou Residence.
- At the Kurou residence, walk up to the man standing gaurd, and say the
following...
"I want to join you."
- You will be taken to Ipponmatsu. Once there do not stress your chance to
talk when you are given it. Simply agree to Shiretoko's mission roster through
silence. After he finishes breifing you, follow him and say nothing, and make
sure that you do not get too far behind or too far in front. Eventually Kicho
will walk on to the set. Let them exchange battle languages and acquaintences,
then say the following...
"Yes, I am."
- The battle will ensue, wait until you take a hit from any of your enemies to
draw your sword, when someone strikes you, draw your weapon, fight without
saying a word (NO MATTER WHAT, DIE IF YOU HAVE TO) and then eventually Hyuga
will come about to assist Kicho. You will be instructed to escape with Kintaro,
don't as it helps neither party. Concentrate on Hyuga and continue to say
nothing, simply hack away at Hyuga until you are in the clear. When you are,
you will be taken to the Kurou Residence where you will be given 50 yen for
your services. You will be given a chance to speak, do not take it. Run over to
the exit, but before you leave, make sure you catch some info on Murasaki's
whereabouts from Shiretoko and a crony. Say nothing in response and exit the
Kurour residence. Then exit to Ipponmatsu.
- At Ipponmatsu, we're going to pretend we did not hear what that crony just
mentioned and allow Murasaki to die on this fatefull night. See that man
running yonder? Follow him to the bottom of Ipponmatsu and draw your weapon,
kill everyone you see (no, not including Dojima, in fact, if you've been
following everything I've told you you'll have not associated with him at all)
after the farce cools down, exit Ipponmatsu to the station.
- At the station run over to Amaguri for a rendezvous with Suzu. She will
begin begging for your help with Don's extraction from the Kurou residence. The
first chance you get to speak, say the following...
"Leave this rescue to me."
- You will be taken to the Kurou Residence... since you did not receive the
info invlolving the secret door to the residence... draw your weapon and kill
everyone you see until you get to a fork in the center of the fort area. Run up
the ramp and kill the guard patrolling near the main entrance. Walk in to the
penthouse and dispatch the man standing there. To the left is Tsubohachi, leave
him be for now. Take the right door and then the door in the back. Inside there
is Don. Say...
"I've come at Suzu's request."
"Why have you done this?"
"We must figure out a way to escape."
- Tell him to grab the safe and follow you, draw your weapon. Exit the
penthouse from the main entrance (if you look to the left, you'll notice
Tsubohachi is no longer there), disembow some gaurds on your way to the exit,
once you get there, that big ol' bald obsticle Tsubohachi, will stand awaiting
you. Run up to him to begin fighting. Fight him until Don tells you to submit.
Do not submit, finish Tsubohachi and exit to Ipponmatsu.
- Once at Ipponmatsu... see Tesshin standing beneath yonder tree? We're going
to avoid him. Scale the walls in a way that prevents you from blatantly
ravaging through the center of a "mine infested feild", so to speak. Once at
the farthest exit to Ipponmatsu, exit to the station without a fight with
Tesshin.
- At the station, you will be rewarded some yen and thanked, afterwards, exit
to the bridge.
- At the bridge, exit to the foundry.
- At the foundry, walk up to the kurou group and you will greeted, as well as
informed of Murasaki's fatal awakening (not that WE could have prevented it or
anything... 6_6)... some Red Ball Gangsters and Kicho will enter the scene, he
and Tesshin will exchange some battle languages, and then oyu wil be told you
go exterminate those that infest the railroad.
- At the railroad, simply fight on until you reach a battle with Chelsea and
Karibe. Kill them both yourself (don't worry, cronies don't kill special
characters...) without a word, and afterwards, move on back to the foundry. At
the foundry, don't involve yourself with the battle going on at the base of
Arayashiki, simply ascend it and meet up with Tesshin and Kicho. Behead Kicho
and you will be thanked for a second time. Exit the founry to the railroad.
- Exit the railroad to the station.
- Exit the station to Ipponmatsu.
- Exit Ipponmatsu to the Kurou residence.
- At the Kurou residence walk up to the straw guard at say the following...
"I am ready."
- Listen to the conversation between Tamagawa and Tesshin and when you have
the chance to say something, say...
"Don't be greedy."
- After you learn of Tamagawa's treachery, defeat some govies and without
saying ANYTHING to Tesshin... don't worry about it, if you truly need some
health, look in the storehouses in the directions of the front and side of the
main penthouse. After some killing, you will be told to exit to Ipponmatsu...
say...
"You stay here."
- At Ipponmatsu, fend off the govies from breaching the main defense, say
nothing to Shiretoko, if you're wounded, you'll have to rely on the luck of the
scattered mushrooms. Eventually you will be told to head to the station...
say...
"You stay here."
- At the station, you will face Hyuga and the government ninjas. Defeat Hyuga
AND his government ninjas and eventually you will emerge victorious. You will
be taken to the bridge. (There, nothin' to it...)
- At the bridge, you will meet up with Tesshin. Breach the cannons and you
will face Tamagawa, prevent him from ending the age of the samurai
single-handedly by dispatching him, and a few govies if need be. Afterwards,
you will receive ending 4, and the rank of Samurai Master.

- From the beginning, run over to the bridge. At all costs keep your sword in
its sheathe, this will be a virtue throughout this rank. When Tsubohachi stops
in his tracks at the sight of you, say the following...
"Stop that right now."
"Watch your tongue."
- You will be attacked by Tsubohachi's grunts. Make absolutely sure that you
wait until you are attacked to draw your weapon, when you are slashed, draw
your weapon. Keep absolutely silent during the fight. I don't even have to tell
you that throughout this rank, whenever the chance to insult someone during
battle arises... do not take it. Kill two lackies and then defeat Tsubohachi.
Sheath your weapon in leiu of mercy upon defeating him. Say the following...
"I'm not interested."
- After he leaves, say to Suzu...
"Are you all right?"
"I accept your offer."
- When she leaves, follow her to the station.
- At the station, walk into Amaguri and say the following...
"Yes, please."
- When you are seated with Don, say the following...
"Good."
"...that's commendable."
"Yes."
Look at Suzu and say... "Don't lose heart."
- Shiretoko and his men will pounce on the resteraunt, leave Amaguri and when
Suzu approaches you, say the following...
"...Trust me."
- You will be attacked by Shiretoko's men. When you are attacked, draw your
weapon and kill both lackies, defeat Shiretoko with your mouth shut. When he
pleas for your allegence, say the following...
"Who is the Kurou family?"
"I refuse!"
- Don and Suzu will approach you, look at Suzu and say the following...
"What are they?"
When Don asks for your assistence, say "Yes."
- When Don leaves, enter Amaguri and walk up to Suzu, say...
"Can I help you?"
"Leave these guys to me!"
- This will make Suzu very satisfied with you. Exit the station to the bridge.
- At the bridge, walk up to Don and listen to the words he speaks until he
says "Whew." Say...
"What are you doing?"
"A never-ending love."
- As Don reacts to your answer, hold the control in the direct that will move
you out of Don's way, so that when the mini movie is over, you will not pester
Don by being in his way, instead, you will have moved aside. When he is gone,
head for the Shrine.
- At the shrine, walk up four steps turn around and say to Toyoko...
"Tell me the secret."
"Ok, let's fight!"
- Await his first successfull attack, draw your sword and defeat him. You will
know be told of the secret back door to the Kurou residence. Sheath your sword
and exit the shrine to Ipponmatsu.
- At Ipponmatsu, run down to the hut next to the farthest exit, run in and
become acquainted with Dojima. After he introduces himself, say...
"Nevermind. I'm leaving."
- Exit to the station.
- At the station, watch the movies that introduces you to Inokashira, but not
exactly in a friendly manner, after he finishes what he has to say, avoid what
is going on here and move over to the corner of the building, to the upper left
of Kurikichi and the Akadama clansman. You will see stacked boxes, leap onto
them, then onto the awning to the left, then onto the roof that you near. Wait
until Inokashira walks into his quarters, and then leep off the roof. Once on
the ground stay close to the nearest wall, (do not get too close to
Inokashira's hut or you'll be introduced to him hastily, we don't want that)
and then exit to the railroad.
- At the railroad, head for the Akadama Clan Mansion.
- At the mansion, say to the gaurd...
"What is this place?"
"...Akadama clan?"
"Ok, I'll join you."
- You will be introduced to Kicho, be patient and let them seat you instead of
immediately taking the matter outside. Karibe and Kicho will argue over what is
best for the clan to do at this point, eventually it will be taken outside.
Once outside, Kicho and Karibe will exchange fighting words. Then Chelsea will
urge you to step in. Do so by looking at Kicho and saying...
"Let me handle it."
- You will be attacked by Karibe, wait until he hits you to draw your weapon.
Once he does so, draw your weapon and attack him until he is low enough on
health for you to say something, say...
"You've lost."
- Do NOT lose this battel or kill Karibe!! Afterwards you will be commended
for your bravery and successfull handling of Karibe-san. After everyone returns
inside, walk up to the two Akadama Men standing gaurd that are in front of you.
You will recieve more praise, let them finish speaking and exit the mansion.
- At the railroad, ignore any fights going on and head for the station.
- At the station head for Ipponmatsu.
- At Ipponmatsu, head for the shrine.
- At the shrine, you will notice Murasaki. Follow her up the stairs, and
listen to her speaking with Inokashira. Wait until you hear "Well, you're
shrewd to, you little policeman.", then move in until they notice you. Say...
"Please forgive me!"
- They will let you off and you will exit the area, Shiretoko will see you run
by. Return up the stairs, and you will notice Murasaki run by, walk up into the
main area and Jose, Inokashira and Shiretoko will all be massacred. Exit the
shrine for the bridge.
- At the bridge, ignore the fighting going on and head for the station.
- Walk up to amaguri and Suzu will approach you. Listen to her fully, and
accept her plea for you to rescue Don from the Kurou Residence, by saying...
"Ok. I'll help you."
- You will be taken to the residence. Remember a while back when we fought
Toyoko for that vital secret? Well now it comes into effect, hug the wall to
your right and take the path your see that goes along the residence's wall, you
will see an open door at the end of the path. Walk up to it, and immediatly run
out into the area where you a bridge and a ladder. Do not look back as there is
a gaurd to your direct behind. Run over to the ladder and ascend it. Walk into
the penthouse and open the slide door. Once inside there, run over to the
opposite room and slide open that door, there will be a door directly in front
of you, do not take it, instead take a right and open the final door that you
see, Don will be inside. You will confront him, say...
"I've come here to save you."
"Why have you done this?"
"We must figure out a way to escape."
- Tell him to pick up the safe, and then tell him to follow you. Return
outside via the way you entered, there will now be a gaurd patrolling the
ladder, jump off the side avoiding every gaurd you see, exit the residencial
area using the secret back door you got in with, run over to the exit, the
originial gaurds you saw in theb eginning will still be clueless to the
situation, don't alarm them. Run up to the exit and wait until Don is in plain
sight, while you wait, do NOT fight and be sure that you aren't TOO close to
the exit, if you area you may be hit and forced into the exit, you wil irritate
Don and he will demand that you wait until he is closer. When he draws near
enough that you see him clearly, exit the residence for Ipponmatsu.
- At Ipponmatsu, run over to the center of the map and turn your sights to the
large tree near the exit, Tesshin will be there. Wait until he gets close and
engage him. He will draw his weapon and begin fighting you. Await his first
direct hit and then draw your weapon. Do NOT insult him. Do NOT lose. When you
are victorious, sheath your weapon and head for the station. Dojima will notice
your fight with Tesshin, his opinion of you has risen in that you have fought
the bravest warrier in the area without yield.
- At the station, you will be given 50 yen and thanked immensly. Exit the
station and head for the railroad.
- At the railroad, head for the Akadama clan mansion.
- Once there run up to the main building and Kicho will descend the stairs in
the background. Walk up to him and say...
"Why did you decide to start the battle?"
- When he finishes speaking you will be taken to the shrine. You notice a
suspicious Hyuga walking up the stairs. Kicho will tell you to follow him,
ignore him, you need the rest. You will be taken automatically to the shrine
building effortlessly (incredible what you can do when you exist in a CG world,
eh?). Eavesdrop on Hyuga and the Gov't agent, when they notice you, Kicho will
uncover Hyuga's plot and decide he needs to die. Keep your weapon sheathed and
concentrate on Hyuga not the ninjas, not the govie. Try to corner Hyuga in the
temple, and get him to attack you without kicking you. When he does, draw your
weapon and defeat ONLY him. When you do, he will begin to self-destruct, you
are immune to fire, stand there idally. Kicho will instruct you to return to
the mansion and inform everyone of Hyuga's trechery, Kicho will go take the
matter up with Daddy. Exit the shrine for the bridge.
- At the bridge, head for the foundry.
- At the foundry, head for the railroad.
- At the railroad, head for the mansion.
- At the mansion walk up to the two gaurds and you will be taken to a mini a
movie involving Kicho, Tesshin, a govie, and a rather ballistic gift for
Tessh'... Kicho will return to the mansion and rally his troops. You and
Chelsea will be left to deal with the first wave of Govies. Await the first
direct hit that you take, and draw your weapon. Hack down some govies and DON'T
sandbag to Chelsea for help should you need it. There are healing items
scattered throughout the area. Eventually you there will be a breaking point in
the insertion of troops. Chelsea will remind that it is a good time to leave,
say...
"No. We fight them together."
- Damn, nothing forces this girl this girl to lose interest in Kicho...
anyway, help her wallop a few more throngs of gaurds, and then you will
eventually be finished around the area. Chelsea will become wounded and tell
you to proceed to the railroad.
- At the railroad, you will rendezvous with Karibe. He will commend you for
your full persistence. Hold the control stick to the right, if you do not, you
will take an unneccessary hit from Karibe at the start of the battle. Hack away
some gaurds and if it comes time to ask Karibe for help, shutup, you don't need
his help. Eventually the line of threat will be pushed back, and Karibe will
tell you to move on, say...
"No. We fight them together."
- Beat down a couple more waves of agents, and you will be instructed to
finish the farce with Kicho, do so by heading to the station.
- At the station, you will meet back up with Kicho. This time, you will be
bombarded by large gov't gaurds, size doesn't matter, beat them down and show
Kicho what you're made of by not requesting his help should you need it. After
a while, you and Kicho will persue the finale by heading to the bridge.
- At the bridge, a battle will stir immediately. Head over to the middle of
the bridge, and hop off it into the stream. Walk up the pathway to the right of
where Tamagawa is. A scene will occur in which Checlsea is shot and Kicho is
pissed off even further. The final fight will start up, ignore all other
threats and gun for Tamagawa. Upon killing him, you will finally be dubbed the
Ultimate Samurai.

- Suzu will confront you, say...

- At Ipponmatsu, head for the Kurou residence, ignoring the straw gaurd
preping his men.
- Walk over to Tsubohachi and say...
"I wish to join you."
- Enter the residence after he suggests that you introduce yourself to Master
Tesshin. Run over to the main penthouse where Murasaki and Tesshin stand,
ignoring the Kurou punks you see as you go. Once you stand before Tesshin, look
at Murasaki and say...
"Who are you?"
- Then stay silent until they decide that Shiretoko will be your opponent. You
will walk out to the center of the feild and face Shiretoko. Say...
"Who are you?"
- Draw your weapon and be the first one to strike. Do NOT give up in the
middle, do NOT lose, and do NOT exit Tesshin's feild of vision. Keeping these
factors in mind you may defeat Shiretoko in any manner you like, just make sure
you defeat him. Afterwards, Shiretoko will exit and you will be given a job.
Listen to Murasaki's and Tesshin's conversation involving the foundry, don't
get yourself involved in the talk, and wait until they finish to leave. When
they do, run over to the stack of boxes over in the farthest corner, hop onto
them then over the wall onto the roof you see before you. Hop over the closest

"Where are we going?"
- You will be taken to the station.
- At the station, listen to what Shiretoko has to say, and respond with...
"What do you mean by suspicious people?"
"What kind of people are they?"
- You will advance towards Amaguri, once you are there. Wait until Shiretoko
finishes announcing the eviction, do not pester Don and Suzu, stay silent! You
are doing what you are told to do, not simply doing this because you get petty
enjoyment out of it! When told to throw stuff around do so, and do go wild
(don't announce it, however) keeping the following in mind, do NOT kick Suzu,
do NOT leave Amaguri and go too far, in fact try to stay inside Amaguri, you
can throw stuff around in there. Do not say anything to anyone, just silently
do as you are told. When you finish do not say anything to Don or Suzu, and
follow the Kurou punk and Shiretoko out to the end of the station. You will be
given 50 yen for your services. You wil also be told there is something else
for yo uto do during the evening. If you go to the railroad you will be
stopped by Hyuga, we don't want to converse with Hyuga at all. So simply
concentrate on the job you were given and head to Ipponmatsu.
- At Ipponmatsu, head for the Kurou residence. On your way there, stop and
converse with the two straw guards, by saying...
"Is the Kurou family having financial difficulties?"
- Then head to the residence.
- At the residence, run over to the guard and say...
"I have been given a job."
- Shiretoko will come out and you will follow him to Ipponmatsu.
- At Ipponmatsu, Shiretoko will instruct you on what you are to do on your
job. Say...
"It's a cute baby."
- You will then begin the mission. Simply follow Shiretoko and don't stray too
far back or go ahead of Kintaro and Shiretoko, just walk with them. About
halfway through the walk, stop and say...
"It's a beautiful sunset."
- Afterwards, continue following. Eventually Kicho will ambush you, stay
silent during the word exchange, and when Kicho looks toward you, say...
"The baby is innocent!"
- The battle will start, I'll be outright, do NOT run away, do NOT give up, do
NOT say anything to anyone, simply draw your sword and get hackin'. Eventually
Hyuga will appear with reinforcements. You will be told to escape with Kintaro,
instead, put him down and draw your weapon. To end the battle most expediantly,
concentrate on Kicho, and defeat him quickly, the Akadama clan will retreat and
you will be taken to the Kurou residence.
- Tesshin will thank you, and you will be given 50 yen. Learn more of the
Kurou family's situation by saying...
"Why do you pity Kicho?"
"What do you mean 'selling the foundry'?"
- Then hop over the fence behind you and run over to Shiretoko and the Kurou
punk. Listen to their conversation about Murasaki's being missing, look at
Shiretoko and say...
"What's up?"
- Then look at the Kurou punk and say...
"Where is Madam Murasaki?"
- Afterwards, exit to Ipponmatsu.
- At Ipponmatsu, exit to the shrine.
- At the shrine, you will notice Murasaki walk up the stairs, follow her.
Listen in on the conversation between Murasaki and Inokashira, wait until
"You're shrewd to, you little policeman." is said, and bolt into the couple.
They will notice you immediately, when asked to speak, say...
"Yeah."
- They will decide they have to kill you, however Shiretoko's entrance will
spare you the trouble of having to slit their throats. When he enters and
inquires what onearth Murasaki is doing with Inokashira, you will be given a
chance to speak, do not take it, wait until Murasaki begins making excuses.
Shiretoko will decide the matter needs to bo brought up with Tesshin, you will
be given another chance to speak, say...
"Please pardon her!"
- He will, and you will be brought even closer to the Kurou family. Exit to
the bridge.
- At the bridge, exit to the foundry.
- The foundry, group up again with the Kurou group. Akadama will appear.
Tesshin and Kicho will prepare for battle, it is your job to clear the
railroad. You will head there.
- At the railroad, you and Tsubohachi will handle the Akadama clan's main
force, take out the meager first wave effortlessly makign sure you don't say
anything to Tsubohachi no matter what. Then Chelsea and Karibe will appear,
defeat the two without breathing a word. Now head back to the foundry.
- At the foundry, ignore the battle going on at the base of thr foundry, and
ascend the ladder. If you need health, there are healing items scattered all
over. Once at the top of Arayashiki, run over to Tesshin and Kicho. Tesshin
will back down and order that you defeat Kicho. Do so. You will be thanked and
reminded of the gov't representitive. Hop off Arayashiki and exit to the
railroad.
- At the railroad, exit to the station.
- At the station, exit to Ipponmatsu.
- At Ipponmatsu, head for the Kurou Residence.
- At the residence, walk over to the straw guard and say...
"Yes, I am ready."
- You will be taken inside. Tamagawa and Tesshin will speak of their sale and
Tesshin will mention that he expected more for Arayashiki, stay silent and
await Tamagawa's treachery. You will go outside, help Tesshin wash away their
betrayal by blasting wave after wave of expendable gov't buffoons! Do not speak
to either Tesshin or Murasaki during the entire battle, if you need healing,
the warehouses throughout the residence supply you with radishes. Fight for a
while until you are told to move on, say...
"Let's fight them together!"
- Fight for a while more until you finally defeat the first line of offense.
Exit the residence and head for Ipponmatsu.
- Same deal with Shiretoko, say nothing and defeat the second line of govies.
Eventually you will be told to move on, say...
"Let's fight them together!"
- Deal with a couple more waves and then you will finally move on.
- At the station, your mission will be to deal with Hyuga and his ninjas,
Tsubohachi will be your partner. Run over to Tsubohachi and await Hyuga's
entrance. Say nothing when given the chance to. Immediately kill Hyuga, you
will be told to exit, say...
"Let's fight them together!"
- Fight a few ninjas and you will eventually destroy the gov't's ninja force.
Move on to the bridge.
- You will finally make it to the bridge, Tamagawa is starting to believe that
you may not be a human... prove this notion further by extirminating him. He
WILL face justice! A battle will begin after Tesshin rejoins you. Take out a
