Hey guys, welcome to my new updated car list for txr0 on ps2. The reason I went ahead and made this list
is because the list for DC doesn't apply to many of the cars, and there are quite a few new vehicles as
well. Genki added a new car type as well. In txr2 there were standard cars and then there were modified
cars. Modified versions would be denoted by an M trailing the car type name and would usually have
anywhere from a $5000-50000 increase in price. Now Genki added the new custom type in which the max HP is
usually considerably higher than the standard and the weight usually much lower. All the custom cars have
special paint jobs and custom body kits as well. The drawbacks of the custom cars are that you can't
change the aeros at all and of course the major drawback would be the huge increase in price. As you can
see from the list below, a lot of the custom cars have a 1000% increase in price.
I believe all of the following cars to be correct, but if you know for a fact that I have one wrong, or if
I have made a typo somewhere on the car name or one of the number values, please let me know so I can get
it fixed in future versions.
Just so you guys know, my next big update I plan on having (2.0) should be to include all the names of the
rivals who have certain cars and where you can find them, so you will know how to find a certain car you
are looking for on the list.
v1.0 (6.5.01)
. First version; not all wanderers in list at this version
v1.1 (6.6.01)
. Fixed a few car errors. Added the rest of the car info for Z32ZX... somehow I put the name in there but
forgot to list the price, weight and HP. Also added all the wanderers. Finally got the name for the
Really Ugly Van.
v1.2 (6.8.01)
. Added a legend. Added symbols that denote cars available for purchase at the start of the game, good
buys for the start of the game, and the top 5 cars of the game. Added drivetrain and engine information
to the list. Added information on all of the 4 major areas in the game. Added information on where to
find each gang.
08. *100TVM Toyota Chaser Tourer V (modified) $24450 3234 Lbs 280 HP FR L-6
A B C D E F G H
A. Car number - this is the order that the cars will appear in your garage
B. Car type - this is the name of the car in the game... most of these are based on the real car's chassis
numbers... the following explain what the markings before the car type denote:
. * - this symbol denotes a car is available for purchase at the start of the game
. $ - this symbol denotes a car that is considered to be a smart buy at the start
of the game
. ! - this symbol denotes a car that is considered by many to be a top 5 car of the
game
C. Car name - this is the car's real name, and the main reason for this FAQ... sometimes this will be
followed by (modified) or (custom)... this occurs when the end of the car type ends in M or
K respectively
D. Car price - this simply shows you how much you have to pay to buy the stock version of the car
E. Car weight - this is how much the car weighs when you purchase it... sometimes the fully modified
version of the car will not lose much weight, while some cars lose over 1000 Lbs
F. Horsepower - this tells how many horses the engine puts to the road
G. Drivetrain - this tells what kind of drivetrain the car has... the following are the types of
drivetrains in the game:
. 4WD/AWD - four wheel drive/all wheel drive (better powersliding)
. FF - front engine, front wheel drive
. FR - front engine, rear wheel drive
. MR - mid engine, rear wheel drive (better drifting, still can powerslide)
. RR - rear engine, rear wheel drive (best drifting, can't powerslide)
H. Engine type - this tells the type of engine and how many cylindars it has... the following are the
types of engines in the game:
. L3 - inline 3... this engine is rare in most cars... all 3 cylindars are in a
line
. L4 - inline 4... this engine is the most common... all 4 cylindars are in a line
. V6 - this engine is more common in american sportscars than japanese... all six
cylindars are in a V shape
. L6 - inline 6... this is the more common 6 cylindar engine in japanese cars...
all 6 cylindars are in a line
. V8 - most of the so called "high powered" american sportscars tote these engines
all 8 cylindars are in a V shape
. V10 - the only car in the game to have this engine is the american muscle car,
the dodge viper... all 10 cylindars are in a V shape
. RE-2/RE-3 - these are rotary engines, developed by mazda, most commonly seen in
RX-7s and in the upcoming RX-8 model
. B-4 - boxter 4... this engine is only seen in the impreza in this game...
I believe the engine is developed by Porsche
. B-6 - boxter 6... this engine is only seen in the porsche 911s in the game...
6 cylindar version of the B-4
Two-thirds of the gangs can be found in the first part of the game (first and second part are divided by
defeating Speed King). When you first start the game you will start with Kanjyo inner and outer, and
Shinkanjyo CCW and CW unlocked (CCW stands for counter-clockwise... it is not COW and OW... it it CCW and
CW :D). After defeating certain enemies, Wangan North and Wangan South, and Yokohane North and South will
be unlocked, revealing to you all of Tokyo's main highway system. In order to reach Speed King, you have
to first defeat all of the 13 devils. The 13 devils will appear after beating all the gang bosses in a
certain area. In order to get the gang bosses to appear, you have to beat all the members of the gang. All
the gang members will be found in the same area on the map, so you don't have to worry about finding one
gang member on Yokohane and another on Shinkanjyo. They will also all be travelling in the same direction
so you will never find one gang member travelling CW and the other going CCW. If you get a boss to reveal
himself, but have trouble beating him and have to return to the garage, all you have to do to make him
reappear is challenge and defeat anyone in the area that his gang appears in (members of other gangs work
fine, regardless of whether or not you have defeated the rival before). Some of the 13 devils will also
appear immediately after you beat another of the 13 devils. The first time in the game that this happens
will be when you unlock the second half of the track. The other time this happens will be when you are
about to face Speed King.
Each area is described as follows:
. Kanjyo - this area is where your starting point always begins when going to the course select
screen... the two directions on this highway are inner and outer
. Shinkanjyo - this area is the lower right area you can travel on when you begin the game... the
major highways included in this area are Fukagawa 9, Daiba 11, and a portion of
Wangan B... the two directions on this highway are CCW and CW
. Wangan - this area is the long straightaway portion on the very bottom of the map... you unlock
this area later in the game... the highways included in this area are Wangan B and
junctions that connect Wangan with Yokohane... the two directions on this highway are
North and South
. Yokohane - this is the area that is above Wangan, connection Wangan back around to Kanjyo again
the highways included in this area are Yokohane K1 and Haneda 1... the two directions
on this highway are North and South
The following describes the areas in which each gang member can be found:
PART ONE (prior Speed King)
Kanjyo Inner:
. Rolling Guy (6)
. Little Gang (6)
. SS Limited (8)
. Knife and Forks (7)
. Fine Drive (8)
. RATT (6)
. Queen's Paradise (7)
