1. The Introduction
I made this FAQ to help others with their gear ratios. To give a
better understanding on how to get the most out of your transmission
final gear settings. If you have any further questions, you can

2. The Final Gear
When you want to get more top speed out of your car, you need to choose
a gear ratio lower than your current setting. If you want more
acceleration, than you need to raise your gear ratio higher than your
current setting.
Top Speed Acceleration

For example:
Lets say you have a final gear of 4.356 and your car is hitting a top
speed of 195mph. You want more, but you don't want to lower your gear
ratio to 2.500 for top speed. Why?, because you will lose your
acceleration and your engine won't have enough power to use that low of
a gear. So, lets follow along as I go through a typical test session
to figure out what the optimum final gear setting would be for this
car,
*I do my testing using the Oval Test track.
We baseline the car ---->4.356 top speed 195mph
We Subtract 0.100 ---->4.256 top speed 200mph
MPH went up subtract 0.100 again ---->4.156 top speed 205mph
MPH went up subtract 0.100 again ---->4.056 top speed 203mph
MPH went down add 0.050 ---->4.106 top speed 207mph
4.106 looks like the optimum final gear setting for this cars current
configuration. You will want to test your car after each engine and/or
transmission change.

3. The Cars
To help you out I included a list of all the cars with the 1st through
6th gears changed for acceleration and a range for the final gear.
Depending on which section of highway you are racing, you will either
want more acceleration or more top speed. The final gear range
complements the last gear in each cars transmission.
*Gears 1st through 6th are for Transmission Level 1, 2, and 3.
*The PS and kg numbers (i.e. horsepower and weight respectively) are
for Engine Level 9 and the lightest available parts for each car.
