1. Introduction
------------------

I just want to introduce you to this FAQ. Keep in mind that this is my first FAQ ever
so please bare with me on this one. Believe me when i say this that this FAQ is NOT
complete. I know there are some things that I missed but im not exactly sure of it yet.
This is all done by playing the game. So I might miss a few hidden stuff along the way.
I'll try to keep this updated with as much information as I can. I know you can find
everything out just by playing the game but I just want to help those who need a
guideline on what to unlock, when you can unlock it, and how to unlock it. If you by
all means unlocked everything and reading this, I suggest you stop here since there's
nothing new here. By the way, for those of you who's new to the King of Fighters
series, I'm going to refer to King of Fighters as "KOF" from now on. Well, I hope you
have fun reading and enjoy. =]

2. Revision History
------------------------

Version 0.2 (12-24-03)
- added ALOT of stuff. Added a secrets section, a special thanks section (I didn't do
this by myself, you know? =P),  more FAQ questions for those of you who had the
same thought as these people that asked these questions. I tried to update this before
or at x-mas if people are getting this game as a present so they'll know what they'll
expect from this game. =] I'll probably add more tips since there's still more people
having problems with unlocking stuff in party mode. =T

Version 0.1 (12-13-03)
- the beginning of it all =P

5. Misc. Information
------------------------

-------------------------------------
I. KOF 2000 Party Mode Tips
-------------------------------------

Party Mode in general just for unlocking the extra strikers in the game which is a very easy
if you know what you're doing. I believe that the opponents life starts to overlap at either 70
or 90 fights. I don't remember... I'll confirm this when I either get info about it or I confirm it for
myself. An easy way to get all of the strikers is to use a character that can get easy kills in
record time. I recommend using Terry and do a simple 'jump D -> close C -> burning knuckle A'
until you kill your opponent. You can mix things up if you want to add more damage but that's
just a simple tip for people that are new to this game. Terry is one of the fastest and strongest
characters in the game and that's the reason why i recommended him for newbies. All I can say
is just simply rush down the opponent without thinking about letting them breathe. A couple of
hits is OK as long as it doesn't go down half way or even 3/4 since it's pretty risky to have your
life at that level. Otherwise, keep on rushing them and you'll unlock the extra strikers in no time.

------------------------------------
II. KOF 2001 Party Mode Tips
------------------------------------

Party Mode is pretty easy if you're on the offensive AND if you get in quick kills since you have
a limited amount of time before you start gradually losing your health. The opponent's life will
start to overlap at around 100 or 110 fights. It gets a tad bit harder around 150 but its still easy
if you know what you're doing. Once again, I recommend Terry for the job. He packs quite a
punch in KOF 2001...Or he just packs a punch period. =]

---------------------------------
III. Unlocking KOF Intro Tips
---------------------------------

Here are a few tips that can help some people unlock the previous KOF Intros.

KOF94: umm...just leave the ps2 on in practice mode over night? O.o
KOF95: I did Vanessa's infinite to get this intro but you can do another idea. Just pick Choi and
put the opponent in the corner. After that, do a 'jump C -> qcf, hcb, BD'. If you do it right then
you'll get exactly 30 hits with him.
KOF96: Once again I did Vanessa's infinite for this one but you can easily do Lin's poison SDM
(downx3, AC). Let your opponents life deplete and when it drains as far as it can go, just
deliver a DM and you'll deplete the life bar completely.
KOF97: Not much to say about this. Maybe you should just set it to the easiest difficulty and
beat the game with 200 ability points.
KOF98: Pretty much the same as above except that you have to get 300 ability points.
KOF99: Not much to say about this either. The good thing about this is that you can continue as
much as you want. Zero falls for small jumps very easily so you can punish him with a combo
with ease after he does his anti-air attack. Just small jump, block, and combo. simple.

IV. FAQS
------------

These are questions that are asked by people who had trouble understanding the FAQ.

Q. What does overlapping mean?
A. Well.. it means that the life bar goes further than it should go. That means that the opponent
have more than one full life bar thus giving them more health than us. There's no indication of
some sort on how much extra life that your opponent have so you're just gonna have to hit them
enough times until you see the bar go.

Q. I read some where (Can't remember where) that there are picture galleries in 2k or 2k1, is this true?
A. Unfortunately not. The PS2 versions of the KOF2k/2k1 double pack doesn't have a gallery mode for
us to look at. =[

Q. How much is the game?
A. You would usually find it for 40 USD (United States Dollars for those of you that don't know ;P).

Q. Do you have to stop playng party mode in order for you to be able to unlock something else?
A. In KOF2k, yes. You have to beat the number of characters required and then lose. Play
party mode again and you'll have a new quota until you unlock Krizalid. You don't have to do
this in KOF2k1. You can keep on playing party mode and unlock everything that you could
along the way without having to purposely lose.

Q. When you unlock the 97 and 98 intros, do you have to beat the game and make sure you get
the required number of points or can you just lost to the computer when you reach those points?
A. This haven't been confirmed yet but I'm going to say that you have to beat the game due to the
fact that the instructions said to "finish" the game.

--------------
V. Secrets
--------------

The section that most of you have been waiting for. Unfortunately there's only one secret that i
know of and it's in KOF2k.

Unlock Zero: First you must unlock all of the hidden strikers in KOF2k in party mode. Go to any
versus modes or party mode and choose any character you want. BUT before you go to the
order select screen, hold up+square or up+circle. Once you go into the order select screen,
press X. You should hear a confirmation sound if you did the code right. Zero is only available
in versus modes and party mode.

7. Contact Information
---------------------------

You can contact me by going on the message boards in gamefaqs. You can also e-mail me at
'[email protected]' but the chances of me responding is somewhat slim since I don't
check my mail that often. You can also find me by contacting me on AIM at 'plastik lazee'.
My recommendation to you is through AIM. If you don't have AIM then you'll usually find me
socializing in some of the KOF boards.

Thanks for reading. See you next time. ^_^
