                              E-Mail:-REMOVED-

Effective 6/9/03, I have removed my E-Mail, as I cannot help someone with a
game I don't have, and most of the things I do not remember. I have sold my
PS2, and all its games to GameStop. With that, I have purchased an Xbox, Brute
Force, Splinter Cell, Halo, and Pre-Ordered Soldier of Fortune II: Double
Helix. The fact is, that the Xbox has more of the games I LIKE, such as Halo,
Brute Force,  Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, and other great Shooter, and
FPS games......Please look forward to future FAQs from me; as of right now, I
am working on a Brute Force Weapons Guide, and when it is released, a Soldier
of Fortune II: Double Helix Weapons Guide.

Welcome to my Weapons & Combat Tactics Guide for The Getaway. This guide will
cover everything you need to get through the mean streets of London, and keep
your butt in one piece. You will find descriptions of all the Weapons, as
well as where to find them, how powerful they are, and how accurate they are.
You will also find Tactics that you will need, such as Stealth Maneuvers, and
different shooting techniques, such as Jump-Out Shots, and Blind Shooting.

These are the various Weapons you will find in The Getaway. Technically, you
could go through the entire game using just your Glock 17, but what fun would
it be to not be able to use the MP5 Submachine Gun, or AK-47S Assault Rifle?

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Mark and DC Carters basic weapon; it has moderate power, and it best
suited to medium range combat. The Glock 17 has a fast Rate of Fire,
and has rather large Clip Size of 18 rounds, which is more than
enough to take care of a couple of Gang Members that aren't too
heavily armed. The Glock 17 is also great for shooting explosive
objects, such as Fuel Drums and Gas Cylinders....not to mention that
its pretty accurate, so if you want to shoot out the tires of a car,
this is the gun to do it with. The Glock 17 is usually found on Cops
and Gang Members, so feel free to use it as often as you want,
because its ammunition is very common. Did I mention that you could
also pick up another Glock 17, and use Dual Handguns?

\ 2.2- 9mm Automatic Submachine Gun \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This is perhaps, the most powerful weapon in The Getaway. Its fast,
It's accurate, and it's powerful. Not to mention that you can pick up
Another MP5A3 for Dual MP5A3's, which can literally cut down a group
of Cops, or Gang Members in a matter of seconds. The MP5A3 also has a
big Clip Size, which consists of 32 rounds. While the MP5A3 only has
the power of the Glock 17, it still has the fastest Rate of Fire of
any of the weapons in The Getaway. The MP5A3 is best for groups of
enemies that are heavily armed, such as Gang Members with AK-47S
Assault Rifles or SO19 Officers, who are also armed with MP5A3's.
Also, please take note that MP5A3's are rare when playing as Mark,
but once you start playing as Carter, you can get them from SO19 who
help you on some missions.

I don't know much about the combat effectiveness of the Sawed-Off
Shotgun, as there are no enemies around when you pick it up from
Harry's corpse, but it does sound, and look cool.

\ 2.4- 5.45mm Automatic Assault Rifle \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
What kind of a Crime-based game would be complete without an
Assault Rifle? The AK-47S Assault Rifle is everything you would
expect from an Assault Rifle. Its powerful, it's got a huge
Clip Size, and it fires pretty fast. The AK-47S is great for ripping
a car to shreds before its occupants can escape the vehicle,
rendering them screaming, burning corpses; which means you don't have
to take the time to kill off each enemy. The AK-47S is uncommon, but
almost every gang employs the AK-47S Assault Rifle, which means you
should always pack superior firepower, such as employing an AK-47S
yourself, or packing an MP5A3....that is, IF you can find one them,
as MP5A3's are VERY RARE.

\ 2.5- 12 Gauge Pump-Action Shotgun \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Your basic Shotgun; powerful at close range, slow to fire....but it
does pack one hell of a punch....especially at close range, but if
your counting on a kill at any range other than close range, you
are going to be disappointed, because at any other range than
close range, the Shotgun is useless. In that case, when an enemy is
seen at a range, simply drop your Shotgun, take out your 9mm Pistol,
and kill the enemy from far away....the Glock 17 is basically the
games version of a Sniper Rifle....especially with it being so
accurate. Also, be cautious of the fact that if you are unlucky
enough to be staring down the business end of a Shotgun, then get
the hell out of dodge, because one hit it all it takes for you to
be killed.

/ 3.1- Health System  \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The Health System in The Getaway is unlike no other. There are no Health Packs,
nor, are there any Power-Ups or stuff like that. The Health System in this game
is unique, as you can only tell how much damage you have taken by looking at
Mark, or DC Carter's Clothes. Refer to the follow chart:

___________________________________________________________________________
| Health % |               What The Character Will Look Like                |
|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|
|   100%   |      No Blood present, Character is standing up Straight       |
|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|
|    75%   |     SLIGHT amounts of BLOOD present on Characters clothing     |
|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|
|    50%   |         HEAVY amounts of BLOOD on Characters clothing          |
|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|
|    25%   |   Character is LIMPING, and there is a HEAVY amount of BLOOD   |
|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|
|     0%   |              Character is lying on the ground dead             |
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

To recover Health, find a wall, and stand very close to it. If your Character
needs to recover Health, he will lean on the wall after a few seconds of not
moving.

/ 3.2- Basic Maneuvers \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

3.2a- Pistol Whipping:

When very close to an enemy, press the () button to Pistol Whip them. I have
heard rumors that it doesn't kill the enemy, but knocks them out, and they
wake up after some time, so put a bullet in their head just to be sure.

3.2b- Running:

When moving, move the Left Analog Stick further in a direction to run in that
direction; the harder you press it, the faster you will run.

3.2c- Rolling:

When running, simply press the (X) button to roll in the direction that you
are pressing the Left Analog Stick in.

3.2d- Crouching:

When on any side of a box, car, etc, press the (X) button. If you are close
enough to the object, you will duck down behind the structure. By pressing
left, or right on the Analog Stick, you can sidestep in the respective
directions.

3.2e- Wall Hugging:

When close to a wall, press the (X) button to hug the wall. By pressing left,
or right on the Analog Stick, you can sidestep in the respective directions.
This is also know as 'Stealth Mode'.

/ 3.3- Automatic and Manual Aiming \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

3.3a- Automatic Aiming:

To Lock-On to a threat (I.E., anyone with a Weapon), simply press and hold the
[R1] button. To switch targets, tap [R1] to switch between different targets.
Please note that Automatic Aiming will not Lock-On to a Civilian, as they do
not have Weapons. Automatic Aiming will only Lock-On to a person who has a
Weapon. Press the () button to fire your Weapon.

3.3b- Manual Aiming:

To Manually Aim your Weapon, simply press and hold the [R2] button, and use the
Left Analog Stick to aim the Weapon. To line up a shot, line up the target with
the tip of the selected Weapon, and press the () button to fire your Weapon.

/ 3.4- Jump-Out Shots and Blind Shots \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

3.4a- Jump-Out Shots:

Jump-Out Shots are probably the most effective way to attack in a gunfight, as
they let you have the ability to pop back behind the wall your hiding behind
to evade gunfire, and then pop back out to fire on the treat. To do a Jump-Out
Shot, get close to a wall near a doorway or edge, and then press the (X) button
to
hug the wall. After that use the Left Analog Stick to position yourself at the
very edge of the wall or doorway, then when ready, press the Left Analog Stick
to pop out, then press either the [R1] button for Automatic Aim, or the [R2]
button for Manual Aim, and press the () button to fire your Weapon.

3.4b- Blind Shots:

Blind Shots are pretty much useless unless you want to repel a couple of guys
coming to rush your position. If your lucky, you will hit them, and it will
automatically, kill the target....even with one shot. To perform a Blind Shot,
simply get close to a wall near a doorway or edge, then press the (X) button to
hug the wall. After that use the Left Analog Stick to position yourself at the
very edge of the wall or doorway, then when ready, press the () button to
fire your Weapon.

/ 3.5- Hostage Taking \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Hostage Taking-

To take a person hostage, get very close to them, and press the (X) button.
Mark or Carter will put them in a chokehold. To make police officers hold
fire, or back off of you, take a person hostage, and make sure the hostage
is pointed towards the position of the police, because they will fire on
you if you turn your back on them. For different actions to get rid of
hostages if Mark or DC has a Gun out or not, refer to the below chart:

______________________________________________________________________
| Armed or Unarmed |     What Mark will Do     |  What Carter will Do  |
|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|
