1 - Introduction
________________/

Super Robot Wars Original Generations Gaiden is the latest, and most likely
last, installment of the Super Robot Wars series on the PS2.  The game is a
continuation of the storyline introduced and developed in Super Robot Wars
Original Generations.

Please refer to http://akurasu.net/wiki/index.php?title=Super_Robot_Wars/OGs
for a comprehensive, user-friendly database covering several of the gameplay
mechanics I will discuss, and many I won't, in great detail.

3 - Before Using This Walkthrough
_________________________________/

This guide is written under the assumption that the reader has a little
knowledge of the Super Robot series and the basic gameplay mechanics of it,
or at the very least, Strategy Role Playing game.  As of right now, I have no
intention of including anything in-depth about the gameplay mechanics, both
old and new, of the Super Robot series.  If you do require something more
in-depth, http://akurasu.net/wiki/index.php?title=Super_Robot_Wars/OGs, is
well equipped with the information you desire.

The Twin Battle System:
- The Twin Battle System is similar to the Squad System from the Super Robot
Wars Alpha series.  With this system, any two units (except battleships)
can combine together to form a single squad.  Here are the prerequisites:
    - Both units must have 110 morale
    - Both units need to be adjacent to one another
    - Both units must still have the capacity to act (i.e. you may move next
to a unit and join with them, THEN attack, but not attack, then move
next to a unit and join them.)
When you join with a unit, you gain access to each pilot's Twin Battle
Spirit Command.  This can range from healing negative status effects, to
the highly coveted 'Soul', which increases your unit's next attack by 2.5x.
    - The easiest way to get used to the Twin Battle System is to use it as
much as possible.  Get used to it early so you can brst utilize it
later and have a Twin Battle squad Support Attack another Twin Battle
squad for 4 attacks in one action.

The Ammo Creation System:
- The Ammo Creation System is a new addition to the Super Robot Wars world
(at least as far as I know).  This system allows you to augment the
various attributes of any Solid-type, equippable, magazine-fed, gun.  To
gain access to this menu, simply access it from the Intermission Menu.
    - The exact location is in the Weapon Equip submenu.  The top choice is
to equip a weapon and the bottom choice is for the Ammo Creation.
    - Within the Ammo Creation submenu the top choice is to equip a created
ammunition, while the bottom choice is to create ammunition.
    - You must use at least two types of ammunition in order to create it.
    - You can disassemble ammunition you've made after creating it.
    - The qualities are not always positive.  An ammunition part that gives a
boost to range may decrease the gun's attack power, for example.
    - There are special combination bonuses when you combine certain kinds
of ammo parts.  For instance, using 3 types of terrain boosters will
create an ammo that boosts all 4 terrain types.

Format of the Walthrough:
- Here I will post a mock scenario guide with a little description as to
what everything means after the equal ('=') sign:

Example Scenario 01 = The scenario number.
----------\

Difficulty = The difficulty of the scenario as set by your Battle Mastery
Points.  The first scenario will always be normal, but after you
claim that first Battle Mastery Point, you will be in Hard Mode.
For this guide, I will always be in Hard Mode.

Terrain: Land = The type of terrain you will encounter (Land, Sea, Space).

Victory Condition: All enemy units defeated = What you need to do in order to
win.  This can range from destroying all enemy units to
protecting a specific unit or preventing enemy units from
                  reaching a designated point.
Failure Condition: Nario destroyed = What you need to NOT do in order to win.
This can range from keeping all or specific units alive
to not destroying a certain enemy.
Battle Mastery Condition: All enemy units destroyed within 3 turns = The
condition you need to clear in order to gain the
Battle Mastery Point.  These points control the
                         difficulty level of the game.*

*The difficulty level may also effect the amount of money and EXP gained from
enemies.  For the sake of arguement and completion, this guide is written with
every Battle Mastery Point obtained.

Starting Allies
[0]- Tuper Nario (Nario) = The name of the unit and the name of the pilot in
the '()'. The '[0]' denotes that this is a starting
                          unit for the scenario.

Starting Enemies
[0]- Lord Loopa (Loopa) = The name of the unit and the name of the pilot in
the '()'. The '[0]' denotes that this is a starting
                         unit for the scenario.

Allied Reinforcements
[1]- Super Muigi (Muigi) = The name of the unit and the name of the pilot in
the ().  The '[1]' denotes that this unit is part
of the first allied reinforcements that appear.
[2]- 4 Units = You select the units that go into battle.  You typically select
their placements on the field, but sometimes it's done for you
automatically.  The '[2]' denotes that these are the second
              allied reinforcements that appear.

Enemy Reinforcements
[1]- Loopa Uroopa x4 = The type of enemy reinforcement and the amount of them.
[2]- Loopa Uroopa [Twin] x2 = Same as above, except the [Twin] denotes that
this is a Twin Battle System using unit (Two
                             units in one squad).

Spoils*
20-point Star - Lord Loopa [0] = The item you recieve and who you recieve it
from.  The '[0]' denotes which group of units
                                the item comes from.

The body of the each Scenario's walkthough will usually have information
about when enemy or allied reinforcements show up and where they appear.  I
try to keep the spoilers to a minimum, save for the unit and pilot names that
will obviously be a spoiler if you read them.  The events that transpire
between units and pilots are kept to an absolute minimum or even omitted.

What you will not find, are step-by-step instructions on how to clear every
Victory Condition and every Battle Mastery Condition.  Not only is it more or
less insane, but words could not express how time-consuming and nearly
impossible it would be with the countless variables in the game.

Scenario 01
-----------\

Difficulty: Normal
Terrain: Land

Victory Condition: All enemy units defeated
Failure Condition: Allied unit destroyed

Battle Mastery Condition: Victory Condition cleared within 3 Turns

Starting Allies

Spoils
Repair Kit x2 - Post Scenario
Propellant Tank x2 - Post Scenario

The enemy units are all damaged, except the Einst Gemyut, and don’t pose a
threat.  You should, however have Arbolo cast, ‘Concentrate’, since he will
be in the point position for the duration of the scenario.  After you
destroy the enemy units, an enemy reinforcement [1] appears from the West.

Use your SP as necessary to ensure the livelihood of your units and survive
for 1 turn.

Scenario 02
-----------\

Difficulty: Hard
Terrain: Land

Victory Condition: Allied unit reaches highlighted area
Failure Condition: Allied unit destroyed

Battle Mastery Condition: Victory Condition cleared within 4 Turns

If you want to make the most of this scenario, then don’t bother having Foria
or Hugo follow Arbolo.  Arbolo, being closest to the highlighted area, is
the best candidate to head for it.  The other units should defeat the Gunsect
units in the immediate vicinity.  Exercise caution when you approach the MP
Giganspada unit, it can severely damage or destroy your unit.

Scenario 04
-----------\

Difficulty: Hard
Terrain: Land

Victory Condition: Wendigo destroyed
Failure Condition: Allied unit defeated

Battle Mastery Condition: No allied units destroyed

Ammo Creation Part (Terrain +Sea) – Post Scenario

Have your units seek refuge on the best positive terrain in the area.  Do
not, under any circumstances, bother attacking or counterattacking the
Wendigo.  Instead, simply defend yourself.  Remember, they all have Spirit
Commands that deal with HP-restoration.  On Player Phase 3, an allied
reinforcement [1] appears near your units.

The Failure Condition changed: Kai destroyed

Have Kai run interference and keep the Huckenbein units away from harm.  On
Player Phase 5, Kai will gain a boost to his morale and fully replenish his
SP.  Now is the time to destroy the enemy unit.  It should take no more than
3 attacks to clear the Victory Condition.

========================================

Scenario 05
-----------\

Difficulty: Hard
Terrain: Land

Victory Condition: All enemy units defeated
Failure Condition: Allied unit destroyed

Battle Mastery Condition: Victory Condition cleared within 4 Turns

Starting Allies
[0]- MP Gespenst Mk-II (Foria)
[0]- MP Gespenst Mk-II Kai (Arbolo)

From your starting position, have Arbolo and Hugo engage the Western enemy
units while Kai and Lamia engage the Northern enemy units.  Regardless, all
of your units should be making their way to the enemy units to the far North.

When you get Foria involved in the battle, make sure you have him cast his
‘Iron Wall’ Spirit Command to ensure his safety.  Whenever possible, make
the Barrelion-type units a priority for attack.

========================================

Scenario 06
-----------\

Difficulty: Hard
Terrain: Land

Victory Condition: All enemy units defeated
Failure Condition: Kouta destroyed

Battle Mastery Condition: All enemy units defeated within 2 Turns

Starting Allies
[0]- Fighter Roar (Kouta)

Starting Enemies
[0]- Gunsect x4

Allied Reinforcements
[1]- Compatible Kaiser (Kouta)

Enemy Reinforcements
[1]- Garoika x2
[1]- Garoika [Twin] x2
[1]- Barrelion x2

Spoils
High Spec CPU - (See NOTE)

NOTE: This scenario presents the opportunity to acquire a High Spec CPU
Optional Part.  To do so, you must move the Compatible Kaiser to a
uniquely shaped building on the map.  The location of this building is
(13,1).  In other words, from the Southwest corner of the map, you must
move 13 spaces East and 1 space North.

Move Fighter Roar to a position on a rooftop, thus gaining a terrain bonus,
and attack the Northernmost Gunsect unit.  You'll want to maintain a position
that allows you to attack as many of the Gunsect units as possible within a
given phase.  On Player Phase 2, move Fighter Roar as necessary to attack the
remaining enemy units.  After destroying the initial enemy units, enemy
reinforcements [1] appear from the West.

The Garoika units will most likely make contact with Fighter Roar first, but
he is more than capable of destroying them.  After destroying 2 of the enemy
reinforcements, an allied reinforcement [1] appears from the North.

The Compatible Kaiser can easily defeat the enemy units.  Make sure you head
for the previously discussed point on the map if you want the item.

========================================

Scenario 07
-----------\

Difficulty: Hard
Terrain: Land

Victory Condition: All enemy units defeated
Failure Condition: Allied unit destroyed

Battle Mastery Condition: All enemy units defeated within 3 Turns

Starting Allies
[0]- Compatible Kaiser (Kouta)
[0]- Valefar (???)
[0]- Ialdabaoth (???)

Starting Enemies
[0]- Lion x3
[0]- Landlion x3
[0]- Barrelion x2
[0]- Guarlion

Allied Reinforcements
[1]- MP Gespenst Mk-II Kai (Kai)
[1]- Angelg (Lamia)

Enemy Reinforcements
- N/A

Spoils
Cartridge - Barrelion [0]
Ammo Creation Part (Critical +, Accuracy -) –Guarlion [0]

NOTE: I recommend equipping the High Spec CPU Optional Part on the Compatible
Kaiser in preparation for this scenario.

Always utilize the terrain bonuses provided by the building rooftops.  You
should have little trouble defeating the enemy units, especially since you
have 2 additional units to assist.

You should have the pilot of the Valefar cast ‘Accelerate’ and engage the
Southern Barrelion.  The Ialdabaoth should attack the closest enemy to it as
well.  Kouta should concentrate on reaching the Barrelion to the Northeast,
defeating it, and then turning his attention to the Guarlion.

When 3 enemy units remain, or when the Valefar or Ialdabaoth destroy 2 enemy
units, allied reinforcements [1] appear from the Southwest.

The Barrelion units don't move from their position to engage your units, so
bring the fight to them to end the scenario.

========================================

Scenario 08
-----------\

Difficulty: Hard
Terrain: Land

Victory Condition: All enemy units defeated
Failure Condition: Allied unit destroyed

Battle Mastery Condition: 5 enemy units destroyed within 2 Turns

Starting Allies
[0]- Kurogane (Ratsel)
[0]- Daizengar (Zengar)
[0]- Lazangriff Raven (Yuuki)
[0]- Landgriz Raven (Carla)

Starting Enemies
[0]- Lion Type V x5
[0]- Landlion
[0]- Barrelion & Lion x2

Allied Reinforcements
[1]- Excellence Striker (Raul)

Enemy Reinforcements
[1]- Lion Type V x3
[1]- Guarlion Custom "Mumyou" (Murata)

Spoils
Dual Sensor – Lion Type V [1]
Servo Motor - Barrelion & Lion [0]
Tesla Drive - Guarlion Custom "Mumyou" (Murata) [1]
Ashsaviour – Post Scenario

The enemies will not attack your units during Enemy Phase 1.  This is a bit
of a setback if you want to clear the Battle Mastery Condition.  However,
even though they won't attack, they will counterattack and start attacking on
Enemy Phase 2.  Have your units spread out a bit, so that the majority of the
enemy units are capable of being attacked.  If necessary, don't be afraid of
wasting a high-damage attack or Spirit Command to ensure a kill.  After
defeating 6 enemy units, enemy reinforcements [1] appear from the Northwest
and an allied reinforcement [1] appears near the Kurogane.

The Victory Condition changes: Guarlion Custom "Mumyou" destroyed

Murata has an absurdly high evasion rating.  All your units should use the
Spirit Command, ‘Lock On’, and I wouldn't recommend attempting to attack
him without it.  Murata has a preference for attacking Zengar, but that
doesn't mean you should leave your wounded units hanging around.  If any of
your units are badly damaged, have them seek refuge inside the Kurogane.

Murata retreats at 15000 HP or lower.  A TBS attack, supported by a TBS
attack, can easily shave approximately 20000 HP off Murata.

========================================

Scenario 09
-----------\

Difficulty: Hard
Terrain: Land

Victory Condition: All enemy units defeated
Failure Condition: Hagane destroyed
                : Ladybird destroyed

Battle Mastery Condition: Ladybird remains undamaged

Starting Allies
[0]- Hagane (Tetsuya & Eita)
[0]- R-1 (Ryusei)
[0]- R-2 Powered (Rai)
[0]- R-3 Powered (Aya)
[0]- R-GUN Powered (Viletta)
[0]- MP Huckenbein Mk-II (Mai)
[0]- Huckenbein Mk-III Type L (Ryoto)
[0]- AM Gunner (Rio)
[0]- Grungust (Irum)

Starting Enemies
[0]- F-32V Schwert Kai x6
[0]- Lion Type V x5
[0]- Guarlion x3
[0]- Guarlion LB x2

Allied Reinforcements
- N/A

Enemy Reinforcements
[1]- Lion Type V x13
[1]- Guarlion x4
[1]- Heavy Barrelion

Spoils
Assault Blade - Guarlion LB [0]
Booster – Guarlion [1]
Cartridge - Heavy Barrelion [1]
Armorlion – Post Scenario
Wildschwein – Post Scenario
F-32 Schwert Kai – Post Scenario
Arblade – Post Scenario
Gespenst Mk-II Type R – Post Scenario

The F-32V Schwert Kai units are the ones to worry about in regards to
preventing Ladybird from incurring damage.  They will ignore your units
completely and focus solely on reaching, attacking, and eventually destroying,
the Ladybird.  Use 'Concentrate' and 'Lock On' to have a fair chance of
destroying the enemy units.  After destroying the initial enemy units, enemy
reinforcements [1] appear from the West.

The Failure Condition is appended: Mironga destroyed

The Mironga is very capable of handling itself and handles the enemy units
within its attack range well.  Have your units maintain a tight formation
and the enemy units won’t pose a threat.

========================================

ROUTE SPLIT:

At this point in the game, after choosing to proceed to the next scenario,
you are presented with 2 options.  These are route splits and you must
select which one you wish to travel.  The units and pilots that travel on
each path is listed below.  Note that the top selection equates to the
Earth and the bottom selection equates to Space.

Earth                                      Space
-----                                      -----
Astelion AX (Ibis & Tsugumi)               Hiryu Kai (Lefina & Sean)
G-Raptor (Bullet)                          MP Gespenst Mk-II (Katina)
G-Bison (Kusuha)                           MP Gespenst Mk-II (Russell)
Guarlion (Lamia)                           Valsione (Ryune)
Wildraubtier FM (Latouni)                  Siegerlion (Leona)
MP Huckenbein Mk-II (Seolla)               Giganscudo Duro (Tasuku)
MP Huckenbein Mk-II (Arado)

If you need an influencing factor to your decision, remember that certain
units must fulfill level or kill prerequisites for certain units.

========================================

Scenario 10 (Earth)
-----------\

Difficulty: Hard
Terrain: Land

Victory Condition: All enemy units defeated
: All units survive until Player Phase 5
Failure Condition: Allied unit destroyed

Battle Mastery Condition: 3 enemy units destroyed within 4 Turns

Starting Allies
[0]- Astelion AX (Ibis & Tsugumi)
[0]- G-Raptor (Bullet)
[0]- G-Bison (Kusuha)

Starting Enemies
[0]- Guarlion (Lamia)
[0]- Wildraubtier FM (Latouni)
[0]- MP Huckenbein Mk-II (Seolla)
[0]- MP Huckenbein Mk-II (Arado)

Allied Reinforcements
[1]- Guarlion (Lamia)
[1]- Wildraubtier FM (Latouni)
[1]- MP Huckenbein Mk-II (Seolla)
[1]- MP Huckenbein Mk-II (Arado)

Enemy Reinforcements
[1]- Mironga x7

Spoils
N/A

Ibis should focus on Lamia, while Bullet and Kusuha focus on Arado.  Both
Lamia and Latouni are evasive, but Lamia is a little easier to manage.  The
same goes for Arado being easier to manage than Seolla.  When it comes time
for Ibis to engage Latouni, I recommend using the Chaff Grenade.  It’s the
only status-inducing weapon the Astelion AX has and sports an extremely high
accuracy rating; making Latouni a breeze to hit.  After destroying all the
enemy units, allied reinforcements appear near your units and enemy
reinforcements [1] appear from the South.

The Victory Condition changes: All enemy units defeated

The Battle Mastery Condition is revealed: 3 enemy units destroyed within 3
                                         Turns

There are a lot of areas that offer terrain bonuses and I suggest you use all
of them to your advantage.  Your units will inevitably sustain a moderate
amount of damage.  Luckily, Latouni and Tsugumi both have HP-restoration
Spirit Commands.  The MP Huckenbein Mk-II units that Seolla is piloting also
has a Repair Module.  The Mironga units have 'Accelerate', 'Concentrate',
and 'Flash' cast on them, and as a result, will cause you to waste an attack
before you can actually inflict damage on them.  Before destroying your 3rd
enemy unit, have Ibis cast 'Invincible' on herself.  After destroying 3 enemy
units, the remaining enemy units will cast a multitude of Spirit Commands.

The Victory Condition changes: 1 enemy unit destroyed

The condition is simple clear if you understand the limitations of your units
and the overwhelming advantage the Mironga units have.  The Mironga units will
focus on the Astelion AX.  With that in mind, you will want to keep her
healthy and on any panel that grants terrain bonuses.  Make sure you have Ibis
defend against every enemy attack if you hope to have her survive.  If she
does not have 'Invincible' cast, there is no possible way for her to survive 4
attacks from the Mironga units.

========================================

Scenario 10 Part 1 (Space)
-----------\

Difficulty: Hard
Terrain: Space

Victory Condition: All enemy units defeated
Failure Condition: Allied unit defeated

Battle Mastery Condition: Victory Condition cleared before Player Phase 2 end

Starting Allies
[0]- Hiryu Kai (Lefina & Sean)

Utilize the positive terrain at all times to ensure the safety of your units
while you engage the enemy units.  Make sure you position Katina directly
next to Russell and maintain that formation for the duration of the battle.

Don’t hold back on SP usage or attacks, since these enemy units are the
only ones you have to face.

Scenario 10 Part 2 (Space)
-----------\

Difficulty: Hard
Terrain: Space

Victory Condition: All Tadpole units defeated before Player Phase 4 end
Failure Condition: All Tadpole units not defeated before Player Phase 4 end
                : Allied unit destroyed

Have Leona cast 'Concentrate' and 'Accelerate' and move her to engage the
enemy units.  It’s important that you prioritize units in a squad and units
with full HP.  However, the allotted time gives you a lot of room to
maneuver in and clear the Victory Condition.

The Victory Condition changes: All enemy units defeated

Have Tasuku cast ‘Luck’ before delivering the final blow to gain double the
money.  The Flatfish poses no difficulty to the Giganscudo.

========================================

Scenario 11 (Earth & Space)
-----------\

Difficulty: Hard
Terrain: Land & Sea

Victory Condition: All enemy units defeated
Failure Condition: Allied unit destroyed

Battle Mastery Condition: 3 Bartool units destroyed within 2 Turns

Have Kouta cast 'Lock On' or 'Concentrate' to hit the enemy units.  Once
again, you must position Kouta in a manner that allows him to attack as many
of the enemy units surrounding him as possible.  To ensure that you destroy
the 3 Bartool units within the turn limit, give priority to the Bartool units
that are in range and cannot be destroyed by counterattacks.  After destroying
3 enemy units, allied reinforcements [1] appear from the South.

After destroying the initial enemy units, enemy reinforcements [1] appear from
the Northeast.  These enemy units seem to have much higher accuracy and
evasion ratings than before, and require the aid of Spirit Commands to be
dealt with properly.  After you destroy an enemy unit, allied reinforcements
[2] appear from the Southeast.

The Failure Condition changes: Hagane destroyed

The battle becomes significantly easier at this point, but remember to use any
and all accuracy-increasing Spirit Commands to guarantee your attacks on the
enemy units.

========================================

Scenario 12 (Earth)
-----------\

Difficulty: Hard
Terrain: Land

Victory Condition: All enemy units defeated
Failure Condition: Allied unit destroyed

Battle Mastery Condition: Guarlion Custom "Mumyou" destroyed within 4 Turns

Multi Sensor – Mironga [Twin] [1]

NOTE: This scenario presents 1 of 2 steps necessary to obtain a secret unit
in a later scenario.  To do so, Ryune must have a battle encounter
     with Kyle’s Mironga.

You won't have the luxury of using terrain bonuses for this scenario, but,
the difficulty of the Mironga units has been greatly reduced.  Make your
way to Murata and utilize Support Attacks from both pilots.  When 5 enemy
units remain, or on Player Phase 3, an allied reinforcement [1] appears
from the West.

Continue to utilize the few Support Attacks available, and eventually, you
may want to have Ryune and Ibis form a squad together.  Rishu can use his
strongest attack immediately and I suggest you do so; inflicting at least
10000 HP worth of damage.  When the Guarlion Custom "Mumyou" is reduced to
70% HP or lower, enemy reinforcements [1] appear from the North and an
allied reinforcement [2] appears from the Northwest.

The Victory Condition changes: Kyle's Mironga reduced to 80% HP or lower
: All units survive until the Player Phase 11

Cybuster should change to Cybird and use 'Concentrate' to increase its
evasion against the enemy attacks.  Even then, I suggest moving him towards
your other units and use terrain bonuses for cover.  Continue the assault on
Murata until clearing the Battle Mastery Condition.

After defeating Murata, you can either defend yourself on positive terrain
until the turn limit is reached, or reduce Kyle's Mironga to 80% HP or
lower.  It’s not difficult at all to defeat him and it coincides perfectly
with the step required to obtaining the unit.

NOTE: This scenario presents 1 of 2 steps necessary to obtain a secret unit
after this scenario.  To do so, you must destroy every enemy unit and
defeat and/or destroy Murata.  Afterwards, you must have Ryune destroy
Kyle.  You will receive the Mironga after the scenario ends.*

NOTE: I suggest you equip your best armor Optional Parts on the Valsione in
     preparation for this scenario.

Use Spirit Commands like 'Concentrate' and 'Lock On' to help increase your
success in battle, but use them sparingly.  The Bartool units are split into
groups of 3 units and will Support Defend each other.  To counter this, you
should make the destruction of the center unit of each group your first
priority; severing the Support Defend link.  As always, utilize terrain
bonuses whenever possible.

Once you reduce Kyle’s Mironga to 50% HP or lower, or reduce the Guarlion
Custom “Mumyou” to 60% HP or lower, allied reinforcements [1] appear from
the Northeast and enemy reinforcements [1] appear and surround your units.

In my opinion, the latter option is more viable, since the Mironga will fully
regenerate its HP.  In addition, Murata is a better choice because he will
need to be destroyed first if you’re aiming for the secret unit.

The Victory Condition changes: Kyle's Mironga destroyed within 3 Turns

The Failure Condition changes: Hagane destroyed,
: Masaki, Ryune, Ibis, Rishu destroyed
: Victory Condition not cleared within turn limit

The Battle Mastery Condition is revealed: All enemy units, except Guarlion
                                         Custom “Mumyou” and Mironga
                                         (Kyle), defeated.

More than likely, the Valsione is within Kyle's attack radius.  If she does
not have 'Flash' cast, then she'll be killed by Kyle's attacks without a
doubt.  Even if she defends, she can't withstand 2 attacks from Kyle.  To
counter this, make sure she has ‘Flash’ cast prior to ending your turn and
do not let her attack (unless it will destroy an enemy).  This way, Kyle's
first attack will always miss and the second one can easily be defended
against.  Another option is to place her beside someone with Support Defend
and have them take 1 of the hits for her.  Otherwise, Kyle’s predictability
makes him somewhat easy to destroy.

As you should know by now, the Bartool units are notorious for concentrating
on a single unit and attempting to overwhelm it.  This is perfect for your
MAPW users, so try and get their morale up as quickly as possible.  When the
Hagane or the Hiryu Kai reaches closer to the highlighted area, on Player
Phase 2, enemy reinforcements [1] appear from the center of the map.

The Victory Condition changes: Kusuha, Arado, Seolla, Latouni reduced to 10%
HP or lower and Hagane or Hiryu Kai reaches
highlighted area by end of Player Phase 5

The Failure Condition changes: Hagane, Hiryu Kai, Kusuha, Arado, Seolla,
                              Latouni destroyed

The Bartool units your allies are trapped in have the same HP and Defense as
the other units, so inflicting damage won't be a problem, but not destroying
them will.  Ryoto, Rishu, and Sean have the 'Mercy' Spirit Command and I
suggest you use them to guarantee satisfactory results.  When 10 Bartool
units remain, enemy reinforcements [2] appear and surround your units.  This
will occur continuously until you reach the highlighted area.  Whenever
you're ready to move on, have either battleship reach the highlighted area.

Maintain a tight formation.  Under no circumstances should you strand any
of your allied units within the enemy ranks.  After destroying 3 enemy
units, or moving past the first defense line, enemy reinforcements [1]
appear from the North.

The Victory Condition changes: Kyosuke destroys Lamia

Lamia's attack power is quite high, so exercise extreme caution in reducing
her HP.  Otherwise, she isn't too tough.  You can destroy her with any unit
you want, but she will simply replenish some of her HP.  Once you destroy her
with Kyosuke, an enemy reinforcement [2] appears from the North.

The Victory Condition changes: Valsion Kai Type CF destroyed

The Battle Mastery Condition is revealed: Victory Condition cleared within 8
                                         Turns

Fortunately, this is the last enemy unit of the scenario; allowing you to
use your best attacks and spend your SP as needed.  The Valsion Kai Type CF
has 300000 HP, a strong EN Barrier, is immune to the status-effects of
weapons, and has the ODE System installed.

There are no real strategies for this battle.  You’ll need a culmination of
powerful attack ratings and impressive defense/evasion ratings to stand a
chance.  Ryoto, Kai, and Katina all have the ‘Soul’ Spirit Command.

                            : Kurogane destroyed

The Battle Mastery Condition is revealed: Victory Condition cleared within 6

I suggest concentrating on the Eleos, since it has a lower accuracy and

units, you can easily destroy them through counterattacks.

Don’t worry about EN and SP when attacking the enemy units.  However, I
don’t recommend involving Srey and her Calion in the battle.  You should do
your best to maintain her Ammo, EN, and SP supply.  After destroying the
enemy units, enemy reinforcements [1] appear from the Northeast.  On the
next Player Phase, allied reinforcements [1] appear from the East.

The Failure Condition changes: Kurogane destroyed
                            : Srey, Raul destroyed

On the next Player Phase, or after destroying 2 enemy units, enemy
reinforcements [2] appear from the South and an allied reinforcement [2]
appears from the Northwest.

The Victory Condition changes: Hypokrisis or Ialdabaoth destroyed

The Failure Condition is appended: Srey, Raul, Kouta destroyed

The allied and enemy units are scattered about, but the scenario is very
manageable.  The Garoika-type units serve no other purpose but to give your
units some much needed morale.  Try and give priority to Zengar on kills,
since you'll want him able to use his strongest attack.

Folka will concentrate on the Compatible Kaiser and Kouta for the duration of
the scenario.  This is fine when you consider that by the time you get your
units over there, the personal war between Folka and Kouta should bring the
Ialdabaoth down to 60% HP or lower.  Folka retreats when his unit reaches
approximately 40% HP or lower.  The Twin Battle System (Zengar and Kouta are
great candidates) is the best method to use in defeating Folka.  Don't
bother with the Hypokrisis or Agares; they're not worth the time or effort.

retreats at 20% HP or lower)

If your confident, you can have your units tackle different enemy groups
by themselves.  However, I don’t recommend it unless it’s the Ialdabaoth,
since it is capable of handling the Gunsect or Lion Type V units without a
problem.  On Player Phase 4, allied reinforcements [2] appear from the
Southwest.

The Failure Condition changes: Hagane destroyed
                            : Kouta, Raul destroyed

Give priority to the units that need morale.  Since you’re aiming to destroy
the Thugater, you’ll need to have your strongest attacks at the ready.  On
Player Phase 5, an allied reinforcement appears where Kouta is.

Take your time and set your characters up so you can maximize your damage
output in a single action.  Don’t bother attacking or counterattacking the
Eleos, since it’s just a waste of time and resources.

NOTE: I am uncertain what the Battle Mastery Condition says about the G
Thundergate, however, destroying it will NOT clear the Battle Mastery
Condition.  I have tried and only received the item for her destruction.

The enemy units pose no threat whatsoever and exist for the sole purpose of
providing some much needed morale for your units.  The MP Giganspada units
provide a great deal of additional defense for both the Hypokrisis and the
G Thundergate.  However, the G Thundergate will quickly move from its initial
location to engage Kouta.

Because of this action, I highly recommend destroying the G Thundergate.  It
retreats at 30% HP or lower, but has a lower maximum HP than the Hypokrisis.

your assault on Murata.  On Player Phase 4, or after reducing Murata to 60%

                                         (Guarlion Custom “Mumyou” retreats

On the next Player Phase, allied reinforcements [2] appear from the South.  I
recommend you deploy any units that have pilots with the ‘Soul’ Spirit
Command to make destroying Murata much easier.  Use the same tactics that
you’ve used with previous Battle Mastery Conditions to clear this one.  The
only difference is that Murata has a much higher evasion and defensive
rating than previous enemy units with this condition.

Just have your unit retreat to the South.  2 Player Phases later, enemy

appear from the South.

Use this opportunity to raise morale and gain control over the tempo of the
battle.  There’s no turn limit and there’s a fair amount of positive terrain

The Victory Condition is a little hard to clear if your units you lack any
units with the ‘Mercy’ Spirit Command or have units with low mobility.  You
must defeat, not destroy, all 4 of the Swordians’ Dagger units.  You’ll have
little trouble defeating the Gariomoa, Bophura, and Flauros units and raising
morale, but try and avoid any confrontation with Alion or Altis.  After you
clear the Victory Condition, enemy reinforcements appear from the Northwest.

The Victory Condition changes: G Thundergate reduced to 50% HP or lower
                            : G Thundergate [???] defeated

The Failure Condition changes: G Thundergate destroyed
: All allied units or battleship destroyed
: Folka, Raul, Fiona, Kouta destroyed

You may opt to split your forces up, but I find it much easier to sent only a
few to defeat the G Thundergate.  The G Thundergate doesn’t have much in the
way of armor, so it shouldn’t take too many attacks to defeat it.  After you
defeat the G Thundergate, an allied reinforcement [1] appears from the South.

The Victory Condition changes: All enemy units defeated

Concentrate your attacks on either the Thugater or Eleos, but not both.  When
either the Thugater or Eleos is defeated, they both retreat.  Have your units
repair and resupply inside either battleship if necessary, then concentrate
on destroying the Agares to clear the Battle Mastery Condition.  The Mardikt
retreats at 50% HP or lower.

There are new units, but it’s the same situation as before.  Give the kills
to the units who need them, and after destroying the Shitolir units,
concentrate on Maysis and her Peirines.  After defeating Maysis, enemy
reinforcements [1] appear from the North/Northwest/Northeast and allied
reinforcements [1] appear near your units.

The Victory Condition is highlighted, but it remains the same: All enemy units
destroyed.  Separate your units and destroy the Western and Eastern forces
before considering an assault on Alkaid and the Extim.

Do not, under any circumstance, begin attacking the Extim until all of your
units are repaired, resupplied, and in position to attack.  Any pairing of
units that can use the ‘Soul’ Spirit Command is highly recommended.  Kouta,
Kai, and Folka are among some of the pilots with this ability.  The Extim has
an incredible HP-regeneration ability that can easily restore almost 50% HP.

However, this is his only real theat.  Agile units should have little trouble
evading his attacks and high defense units may consider ‘Invincible’ or a
Spirit Command with a similar effect.  Concentration is the key, but you must
still try to conserve some of your attacks and abilities.  After defeating the
Extim, an enemy reinforcement [2] appears from the North.

The same strategy applies in for this variation of the Extim.  You must use a
series of concentrated attacks to damper the effects of the HP-regeneration to
the best of your ability.  It will be extremely tough, but it’s possible.

The Battle Mastery Condition seems simple enough to clear, however, the enemy
units are all extremely tough.  Each of the Swordians’ Guard unit has an
insanely high defense rating, the ability to absorb EN-based attacks, and
EN-regeneration.  They all also have 220000 HP each.  Needless to say, it will
take a lot of effort to destroy these massive units.

Do not, under any circumstances, engage the Darkbrain until you’ve gathered
all of your forces and are fully prepared to destroy it.  You will need
everything in your arsenal to overcome the massive HP-regeneration the
Darkbrain receives every turn.  After destroying the Darkbrain, an enemy

This is the last enemy reinforcement, so use absolutely everything you have

There are practically no opportunities to gain morale for your units.  This

destroying all the Valsion Kai units, the Neo Granzon has a plethora of Spirit
Commands cast on itself.  I highly suggest waiting a turn before you start
your assault on the Neo Granzon.

The Neo Granzon has 390000 HP.  Although it is not as much as the 2nd
incarnation of Darkbrain, the Neo Granzon has an amazing EN Barrier that will
make it incredibly tough to damage it.  Luckily, the Neo Granzon does not have
a large HP-regeneration skill, but he does have one.

7 - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
____________________________________/

Q - Where's your list for [insert topic here]?
A - If there isn't a list for it, then I didn't feel it to be vitally needed
or just didn't feel like doing it.  The primary focus of this guide is to
address the scenarios and secrets.  Everything else is secondary.  If you
want the comprehensive lists missing from this document, then I strongly
   suggest: http://akurasu.net/wiki/index.php?title=Super_Robot_Wars/OGs for
your needs.  If the question you have isn't answered there, then try the
   message boards.

Q - Where's [Insert mobile suit/Aestivalis/Go Nagai creation/etc.]?
A - This is Super Robot Wars: Original Generation.  This means that every type
of unit found here is exclusive to Banpresto and no one else.  You will
not find Gundams, Aestivalis', Go Nagai creations or anything else aside
from Banpresto Originals.  If you are interested in a game that does
contain those types of mecha, then I reccomend any of the other SRW games
that are not from the Original Generation line.

Q - Did you know you made a mistake here?
A - Probably not.  Of course, that depends on what you and I define as a
mistake.  If the mistake in question is a disagreement over a character </pre><pre id="faqspan-3">
or units name spelling, then you can stop right there.  Translating from
Japanese to English is not an exact scienece and liberties can, and often
are, taken with names.  The English names are derived from their Japanese
counterparts and are perfectly acceptable.  For the record, I'm well aware
that the Atlus translation has established names for these chracters, but
I'm not a fan of some of them.  I am, however, a fan of their great work.

Q - Where can I can I get a ROM or ISO image of the game?
A - Wow, was not ready to put this one in the FAQ.  Don't ask me for this,
seriously.  Go buy the game.  In a world where almost everyone is guilty
of some crime on the internet, be it grandoise or miniscule, I cannot
just supply information like that if I had it.  If you're the kind of
person who downloads these kinds of things, then you should know fully
well that emailing me and asking for it will get you nowhere.  In closing,
just buy the game and get over it.

Q - This part of your guide doesn't make sense.  Will you fix it for me?
A - That depends on what it is that doens't make sense.  I've done my best to
make this guide as painless to read as possible, so I'd be quite surprised
to find something that doesn't make sense.  If there's truly a glaring
problem, then please email me and I'll look into it when possible.

FORMAT FOR EMAILING ME!  YOU WILL BE IGNORED IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THE RULES!
- Your subject line should look like this:
 "Super Robot Wars [Original Generations 1/2/2.5] - Scenario/Section ##"
- Choose which game in the brackets and change the ## to the section or
scenario number.  Drop the quotation marks and the brackets, obviously.
- You can find my contact information at the top of this document.
