-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-                               I. Introduction                               -
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First off, allow me to introduce myself.  I am T.J. Burns, also known to
many as the Chameleon.  I have been a longtime gamer, I own my own gaming
store, Chameleon's Den (http://chameleonsden.com), and I am the creator and
administrator of Traderz, an online game trading community.  As you can
see, gaming's in my blood. =)

Due to the nature of my business, and of Traderz, I come in contact with
all kinds of different games, and am fortunate to have a chance to play all
of my favorite classic games as well as various new releases.  Like any
true gamer, I figure out what I can on my own at first, but I have checked
GameFAQs (http://gamefaqs.com) many times to go back and read about the
things that I missed.

I was a little suprised to note that GameFAQs is currently without any
resources for Super Dragon Ball Z, so I decided to throw together this list
of all of the characters' moves, with information on how to perform each
technique, and more.  This guide isn't yet what I would consider to be
100% completed, as there are still hidden characters and secrets for me to
add, but..  Here goes.

If there's anything in here that's in error, please report it to me.  Do
not email me to gripe about the names and spellings - I'm using the U.S.
version of the game and am quite aware that some names were originally
spelled differently..  I'm using the game's spellings...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-                             II. About This Game                             -
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Super Dragon Ball Z doesn't top Budokai in my books, but it has a few
very interesting ideas, such as 'creating' your characters and having them
gain experience..  In a fighting style game, I found it unique anyway..

All in all, a good fighting game.  I assume you have it already, if
you're reading this, but if not, go get it!  Someone may have it for trade
over at Traderz, or you could always check Yahoo auctions or the new Google
Auctions once they launch..  (I don't recommend eBay)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-                              III. Basic Moves                               -
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As with all fighting style games, there are basic moves that are common
to all characters.  This is a good key to scan through, for the sake of
understanding the terms I'll be using later.  The buttons involved in these
moves can be changed in your game's configuration, but I will be listing
the defaults for each of these.

Note!  Many moves in this games will allow you to press either of the
attack buttons, so if I say 'Attack', you can use either one..  In some
cases, the 'Strong Attack', or Triangle by default, will do more damage.

Buttons:
Square - Normal little standard attack..
 Triangle - Strong attack
 X - Block
Circle (On the ground) - Jump
 Circle (In midair) - Hover
Circle (While hovering) - Drop back to the ground

Dual buttons:
L1 (Square + Triangle) - Grab your enemy and attack
L2 (X + Circle) - A short dash, either toward or away from your enemy
 R1 (Square + X) - Dash Shoulder Attack
R2 (X + Triangle) - Flying power attack, can stun your enemy
Up + Circle - Super High Jump
Forward + Square - Standard energy burst, differs character to character
Forward, Forward, Attack or Back, Back, Attack - Different type of attack

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-                          IV. Character Techniques                           -
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For easier searching, I'm listing these characters in alphabetic order.

                            a. Android 16
                           ---------------
Android 16 is a very large, slow, and strong character..

Grab - Android 16 grabs his enemy and literally bounces them off of the
   ground.

Techniques:
 Combination A (Square, Square, Triangle)

 Combination B (Triangle, Triangle)

Rocket Punch (Roll down to forward, attack) - Android 16 shoots his
hand at the enemy.  Does more damage with triangle.

Mega-Tackle (Back, forward, attack) - Android 16 charges at the enemy.
This attack also has a chance of stunning the enemy.

Gigantic Press (While in the air, Down, L1) - Android 16 lays down in
mid-air, falling downward to land on and crush his enemy.

Evolution Buster (360 degree roll, down, toward, and away, then attack) -
You need to do this close, as Android 16 will try to grab the enemy.

Hell Flash (Roll down to forward, roll down to forward, attack) - Android
16 shoots his fist into the ground, causing an explosion.

                            b. Android 17
                           ---------------
Android 17 is rather annoying, but he's fast and has good moves..

Grab - Android 17 grabs the enemy by their feet and slams them into the
   ground.

Techniques:
Violence Hold (Square + X, then Square)

Combination A1 (Square, Square, Triangle, Triangle)

Combination A2 (Square, Square, Square) - This 'combo' leaves the enemy
   facing the opposite direction.

 Combination B1 (Square, Triangle, Triangle)

Combination B2 (Square, Triangle, Square) - Attacks then does his grab

Blaster (Roll down to forward, attack) - His default energy attack

Savage Combo (Forward, Down, Down/Forward, Attack)

Avenging Fork (Roll down to back, Attack, Attack again when you hit)

Ultimate Blaster (Roll down to forward, Roll down to forward, Attack) -
This is basically a rapid fire version of the Blaster attack.

Energy Field - (360 degree roll, down, forward, and away, then L1) - This
attack is great for defense, attacking a radious all around Android 17.

                            c. Android 18
                           ---------------
Android 18..  She's cute, fast, and usually armed with great techniques,
but her arsenal of skills are a little lacking in this game.

Grab - Android 18 grabs her enemy by their feet and slams them into the
ground, much like her brother does.

Technique:
Violence Hold (Square + X, then Square)

Combination A1 (Square, Square, Triangle, Triangle)

Combination A2 (Square, Square, Square) - This basic punching combo will
spin the enemy around to where their back is facing Android 18.

 Combination B1 (Square, Triangle, Triangle)

Combination B2 (Square, Triangle, Square) - Attacks, then does her grab.

Blaster (Roll down to forward, Attack)

Savage Combo (Forward, Down, Down/Forward, Attack)

Infinity Hold (Roll down to back, Attack) - She charges at the enemy,
attacks them, then flips them down into the ground.

Ultimate Blaster (Roll down to forward, Roll down to forward, Attack) -
This is basically a rapid fire version of the Blaster attack.

                               d. Cell
                              ---------
I miss the Stage 1 version of Cell..  The rest of them have always looked
so lame to me..  Anyway, Cell's extremely tall, but he has a lot of rather
unique attacks, definately worth checking out...

Grab - Cell lifts his enemy up and shots a blast right through them.

Techniques:
 Combination A (Square, Square, Triangle)

 Combination B (Triangle, Triangle, Triangle)

Hell Needle (Roll down to forward, Attack.  Can add a few more attacks)

Interrupter (Down, Up, Attack or Up, Down, Attack) - Cell jumps to either
side, firing off needle shots as he goes.  Direction depends on order.

Drain Life (Forward, Down, Down/Forward, Attack) - Drains some life from
the enemy..  Square also drains action bar, Triangle also drains energy.

Drain Life *Skills* (Forward, Down, Down/Forward, Square + Triangle) - This
attack drains a little life but also allows Cell to copy one of the
techniques his enemy uses..  Read below for more..

*Use Drained Skill* (Back, Forward, Attack) - Provided you have drained a
skill, this will cause Cell to perform that technique.

Judgement (Roll down to forward, Roll down to Dorn/Forward, Attack) - Cell
   performs several rapid-fire shots.

                             e. Chi-Chi
                            ------------
Chi-Chi is rather interesting.  Fun trivial things to note is that she
uses Goku's Power Pole from Dragon Ball, and she rides on Nimbus when she
hovers, being unable to fly herself..

Grab - Chi-Chi does a series of rapid kicks, lifting the enemy into the
air, then she kicks them away.

Techniques:
 Combination A (Square, Triangle, Triangle)

 Combination B1 (Triangle, Triangle, Square)

 Combination B2 (Triangle, Triangle, Triangle)

Banana Fan (Back, Forward, Attack) - Creates a little twister..

Power Pole Attack (Roll down to forward, Attack) - This attack can be
expanded into a Power Pole Combo by following with Attack twice more.

Power Slugger (Roll down to away, Attack) - The attack she throws will have
a boomerang effect if it messes the enemy, but it won't hurt Chi-Chi.

Super Power Slugger (Roll down to away, Roll down to away, Attack)

                              f. Frieza
                             -----------
Annoying, small, fast..  A good fighter for annoying your friends!
Seriously though, his tail and variety of moves make him a good fighter,
but it does get annoying to watch him do most of his attacks with his arms
crossed in boredom.

Grab - Actually a pretty nice juggle, hard to describe though..

Techniques:
Combination A (Square, Square, Triangle, Triangle) - This entire combo is
done with Frieza keeping his arms crossed the whole time.

Combination B1 (Square, Triangle, Triangle) - Frieza's 3rd hit hits the
   enemy from behind..

 Combination B2 (Square, Triangle, Square)

Round Dash (Back, Forward, Circle) or (Forward, Back, Circle) - Frieza will
start running at the enemy..  Each time you press Attack while Frieza is
running, he'll fire off an energy attack.

Sonic Warp (Roll down to forward, Circle), or (Roll down to back, Circle),
or (Forward, Down, Down/Forward, Circle) or (Back, Down, Down/Back, Circle)
Frieza will do his rapid movement that looks like he teleports, where he
goes depends on which method you use to do this technique.

Frieza Cutter (Roll down to forward, Attack) - Cutter attack..

Psychokinesis (Roll down to back, Attack) - Frieza will use telekinesis to
lift some rocks up to pelt the enemy with..  When did he show signs of
such a talent in the series LoL?  I certainly don't remember it..

Flex Laser - (Back, Forward, Attack) - Frieza firest off 3 energy attacks.

Death Ball - (Roll down to forward, Roll down to forward, Attack) - You can
hold the attack button to charge this attack up larger..  Try it out!

                               g. Gohan
                              ----------
Small, fast, strong..  Gohan's definately a tough kid..  Pan gets it
honest, doesn't she?

Grab - Gohan kicks his enemy into the air, jumps up, and kicks them back
   down into the ground.

Techniques:
Combination A (Triangle, Triangle, Triangle) - Slide, Kick, Headbutt

Combination B (Square, Square, Triangle) - The last hit can explode
instead, but usually Gohan will kick his enemy to the side instead.

Masenko (Roll down to forward, attack) - Gohan's basic energy attack.

Soaring Dragon Strike (Back, Forward, Attack) - An interesting attack, you
can press Attack again to launch a second strike.

Fissure Fist (Forward, Down, Down/Forward, Attack) - Gohan does a double
kick followed by a rapid punch combo.

Dragon Shot (Roll down to forward, Roll down to forward, Attack) - Gohan
fires off about 10 Masenko attacks, rapid fire.

Energy Charge (Back, Forward, Roll to down and then to back, Attack)

Super Saiyan (Forward, Back, Roll down to and then to forward, Attack)

                               h. Goku
                              ---------
 Goku..  Our standard hero..

Grab - Goku grabs his enemy, spins them around, and throws them..

Techniques:
 Combination A (Square, Triangle, Triangle)

 Combination B1 (Square, Square, Triangle)

Combination B2 (Square, Square, Forward, Triangle) - Flips over the enemy's
head and kicks them in the back.

Combination B3 (Square, Square, Up, Triangle) - Sidesteps before last hit

Combination B4 (Square, Square, Down, Triangle) - Sidesteps before last hit

Kamehameha (Roll down to forward, attack) - Hold attack to charge.

Flurry Kick (Roll down to back, attack.  Attack again when you hit enemy)

Blast Fist (Forward, Down, Down/Forward, Attack) - Firey Uppercut

 Kaioken (Triangle+Square+X) - Can also do (L1 + X) or (R1 + Triangle)

Super Kamehameha (Roll down to forward, Roll down to forward, Attack)

Super Saiyan (Forward, Back, Roll to down and then to forward, Attack)

                              i. Krillin
                             ------------
Krillin..  How exactly did he wind up with Android 18 again?

Grab - Kicks his enemy into the ground and does a spinning kick into their
   back.

Techniques:
Knee Drop (While in the air, Down + Triangle) - Drops down onto enemy

Combination A (Square, Square, Square, Triangle)

 Combination B1 (Triangle, Triangle, Triangle)

Combination B2 (Triangle, Triangle, Square) - Krillin's most interesting
combo, he hits the enemy twice and then merely rolls to the side.

 Destructo-Disk (Forward, Down, Down/Forward, Attack) - Krillin's trademark
move..  You can hold down attack to charge it.

Scatter Blast (Down, Up, Attack) or (Up, Down, Attack) - This interesting
attack sprays an arc area and stays on the screen for a couple of seconds

Kamehameha (Roll down to forward, attack) - Hold attack to charge

Flicker (Back, Forward, Circle) - Krilling jumps and rolls past the enemy

Super Destructo-Disk (Roll down to forward, Roll down to forward, Attack) -
Krilling shoots out about 10 Destructo-Disks, rapid fire.

                            j. Majin Buu
                           --------------
Majin Buu...  Large, defensive, and has alot of  (for lack of better way
of describing them) large attacks. Rather comical character... good for
laughs as you watch him prance around the fighting arena.  Buu also has a
few very nice attacks.

Interesting basic attack - Triangle while jumping will cause an explosion
if Buu hits his enemy..

Grab - Buu picks up his enemy with one hand and punches them with the other

Techniques:
Combination A1 (Square, Triangle, Triangle) - The Belly-bounce Combo

Combination A2 (Square, Triangle, Square) - Buu rapidly slaps his enemy
around, many times making them say something in confusion.

 Combination B (Triangle, Triangle, Circle)

Spread Ball (Roll down to forward, attack) - Can hold attack to charge

Hazard Breath (Down, Up, Attack) or (Up, Down, Attack) - Again you can hold
attack to charge this up..  Buu breathes out an arc of fire.

Hurricane Dash (Roll down to back and attack) - Buu charges at his enemy,
leaving a trail of fire behind him.

Detonation (720 degree roll, down, toward, and away, do the same roll
again, then attack) - Radius attack coming out from Buu, similar to Android
   17's Barrier Attack.

                              k. Piccolo
                             ------------
Tall and slow, but has a long reach and good techniques.  Most of his
Triangle attacks stretch his arms out quite a distance to attack..

Grab - Piccolo lifts his enemy into the air and then blasts them.

Techniques:
V Punch (Back, Triangle) - Attacks diagonally on both sides, not directly
   in front of Piccolo.

 Combination A (Square, Square, Triangle)

Combination B (Triangle, Triangle, Triangle) - The entire combo has a long
   reach..

Demon Fist (Forward, Down, Down/Forward, Attack) or (Forward, Down,
Down/Forward, Square + Triangle) - Piccolo grabs the enemy, tosses them in
the air, and shoots them with a blast if you use Square or Triangle, or a
   bomb if you use both.

Beam Cannon (Roll down to forward, Attack) - Limited range

Dimensional Barrior (Down, Up, Attack) - Hold down attack to charge

Special Beam Cannon (Roll down to forward, Roll down to forward, Attack) -
Piccolo's trademark move, you can hold attack to charge.

                              l. Trunks
                             -----------
Trunks, like his father, was always a favorite character of mine..  An
interesting thing to note in this game is that his Triangle attacks use his
sword, and they are very fast for strong, triangle attacks..

Grab - Trunks throws his sword up in the air, pummels his enemy, jumps up,
catches his sword, and slashes his enemy on the way back down.

Techniques:
Combination A (Square, Square, Triangle, Triangle) - Trunks finishes this
   combo hovering in the air..

Combination B1 (Triangle, Triangle, Triangle) - Pure sword combo

Combination B2 (Triangle, Triangle, Up) - Two hits, then rolls up

Combination B3 (Triangle, Triangle, Down) - Two hits, then rolls down

Crescent Wave (Roll down to forward, attack) or (Roll down to forward,
Square + Triangle) - Trunks fires off a wave attack at his enemy..  Square
causes that wave to go horizontal with the ground, Triangle causes it to
go vertival, and both creates both waves at the same time.

Stylish Buster (Back, Down, Down/Back, Attack) - Very rapid sword technique

Aura Smash (Back, Forward, Attack) - Trunks launches himself at his enemy,
   shoulder first.

Slash Break (Roll down to back, Roll down to down/back, Attack) - Rapid
sword technique, finished up with a blast..  (The memories..)

Super Saiyan (Forward, Back, Roll to down and then to forward, Attack)

                              m. Vegeta
                             -----------
Vegeta's always been one of my favorite characters, tied only with his
son, but unfortunately he's rather slow this time around..

Grab - Throws his enemy (Or ally) into the air and shoots them

Techniques:
 Combination A (Square, Square, Triangle)

 Combination B1 (Square, Triangle, Triangle)

 Combination B2 (Square, Triangle, Square)

Lucora Gun (Roll down to forward, attack) - Can press attack a couple more
   times for extra beams..

 G. Slicer (Up, Down, Attack) or (Down, Up, Attack) - Vegeta shoots off an
   arc of attacks.

Assault Rush (Forward, Down, Down/Forward, Attack) - A very fast combo

Counter Break (While being attacked, Roll down to back and hit X)

Galick Gun (Roll down to forward, Roll down to down/forward, Attack) - This
rapid fire technique brings back memories, of a certain planet that he
and Nappa briefly stopped on on their way to Earth..

Super Saiyan (Forward, Back, Roll to down and then to forward, Attack)
