I. Welcome to my SOCOM: US Navy Seals FAQ. Hopefully, it will help you beat
the one-player mode and help you learn about strategy for online play.

Note: All the control commands that I say are for the precision shooter
control set, since it is the same as the Online Play controls.

Walkthroughs for first five missions and everything else except for weapons

In my next version: As many new missions as I can type up. I probably won't
post weapons until I complete the walkthrough, since it is not one of my
priorities. Also, hopefully I'll get some of that fancy art writing at the top.

II. Controls/Basics

D-Pad --- The D-Pad has numerous functions:

         Left/Right peeks around corners

         Up/Down Zooms in or out and actives the following:

                       *Sniper Scope*
                       *Binoculars*
                       *Nigthvision*

Left Analog Stick
         Move fowards/backwards
         Strafe left and right
         L3 (pushing it down) changes fire mode for you current weapon

Right Analog Stick
         Moves crosshairs for aiming and turning while moving
         R3 (pushing it down) reloads

START BUTTON
        Pause Game

SELECT BUTTON
        View TACMAP

X Button
        Performs actions that appear on the bottom of the screen
        Such as: climb/descend ladders, take objects, hit with rifle butt,
        pick up bodies, take guns, and numerous other actions.

O Button
         When held you can talk through your headset
         If pressed once you can issue commands to your team (if you don't
         have a headset)

Triangle Button
         Change stance from standing to crouching to prone (crawling)

Square Button
         Jump

L1: Quick Select Primary Weapon
L2: Quick Select Secondary Weapon
R1: Use Weapon (fire gun, throw grenade, deploy explosive)
R2: Switch Weapon (opens weapon inventory)

THE TACMAP

Throughout the game you will look at the TACMAP a lot. In this FAQ you
will too, since it is al ot easier to follow than to follow my directions.
Also, the map tells where the objectives can be completed if you press
circle after highliting one and gives more detail about objectives if you
press X on them. I'll try to say when you should use the TACMAP, but always
have it handy.

THE SEAL TEAM

You have 3 other members on your team. One is your partner, Boomer.
You refer to him as "Able" on your headset. The others are Jester and
Spectre. You refer to them both as Bravo on your headset. There are
many commands that you can give them during the course of the mission.
See the instruction booklet for them.

III. One-Player Walkthrough

Objectives:

* Secure the Barge *
    Dispatch Guard
* Sever Communications *
     Recon Sentries
     Reach Freighter

      Plant Charges

                           SECURE THE BARGE

Step to your right and take out the two guards with head shots to complete the
"Dispatch Guard" objective. If the other guards didnt hear you and haven't
appeared you should proceed foward, and around the gray box that says "Curtis
Containers". Sneak around the left corner and take out the two guards talking
there. This completes the "Secure the Barge" primary ojective.

Go to the TACMAP and scroll down to the Recon Sentries objective. The best way
is to follow its directions and find the arrows along the edge of the freighter,
since it will be hard for me to give directions. Head up the ramp and onto the
freighter after taking out the sentry by the ramp. Once they're done you will
have completed the "Recon Sentries" and "Reach Freighter" secondary objectives.
Now, go back to the TACMAP and look at the "Eavesdrop for Intel" objective and
go to the arrow to overhear the terrorist plans.

                           SEVER COMMUNICATIONS

Now you need to sever the terrorist communications. Continue along the left
edge of the freighter and up the steps (you can check the TACMAP). Go up the stairs
to the right in this building. Continue right into the room and shoot the guys.
Shooting in close quarters isn't as hard as HQ says. Go to the glowing comm unit on
the right and switch it off with X when the option comes up

                            COLLECT INTEL

Go near the star. Use your night vision to see an opening in the dark to a path
that leads down on a ramp. Stay with the night vision as you go down the ramp. Pass
through the part overlooking the room with crates and keep going into the hallway.
Go to the room on your right and grab the ledger (the intel) from the table on your
left.
                            SCUTTLE FREIGHTER

You need to plant some charges here. Look at the TACMAP to help locate the where
you need to plant them. You'll know you found it because they are in a red room.
Say "Bravo/Able Depoloy Charges" into the headset once you get there and one of your
teammates to put the charges on. Wait a second or two, and the mission's done.

||MISSION 2: GHOST TOWN||

Objectives:


* Obtain Intel *
   Bravo to Charlie
   Neutralize Sentry
   Insert Into Mission
* Secure Compound *
   Secure Lodge
   Secure Mining House
   Secure Pincushion
   Secure Cabin
* Destroy Weapons *
* Extract Captive *

Start out by immediately saying "Bravo Run to Charlie" to complete that secondary
objective. Then get in the prone position by pressing Triangle and wait for the
sentry. Say "Able Fire at Will" so Boomer will shoot him if he sees him first.
Go to the TACMAP and press circle on the Insert Into Mission objective. Follow
the directions to complete this secondary objective.



While you are here you may as well pass go into the lodge and kill the two
terrorists on the bottom floor and the one on the top floor to get the "Secure
Lodge" secondary objective. This will put you on your way to "Secure Compound".
Also, while you're there pull out your C4 with R2 and put it on the stack of
boxes to destroy the first out of three weapon caches.


                                  OBTAIN INTEL

Soon the siren will go off and you'll have to get to the Dredge building. You'll
get a message with a new objective that will tell you to tell Bravo to cover
the dredge at Zulu. Do so for an easy completion. Walk into the dredge. Go up the
stairs, killing terrorists on the way. Go around whatever that big mess in the
middle is and go up another staircase. Kill the terrorist, then go around the
corner to kill the one next to the laptop. Take the laptop to complete this
primary objective.

                               EXTRACT CAPTIVE/DESTROY WEAPONS

Head to the mining house and while you're here, put C4 on the weapons outside.
Go to Pincushion, get behind him, and restrain him. Put the crosshairs on
Pincushion and command him to follow you. Look at the TACMAP and go to his
extraction point, clearing the cabin right next to it, so you can complete
the "Secure Compound" primary objective. Now go over to the shed and put some
C4 on the weapons cache outside to destroy the final stash of weapons and
complete the "Destroy Weapons" primary objective along with the mission.

||MISSION 3: OIL PLATFORM TAKEDOWN||

    Locate Oil Workers
    Restrain Workers

    Secure Helipad

                               SECURE OIL PLATFORM


For this you must secure the helipad and Buildings A-E. I'm not going to tell
you when to go into the buildings. You can do it in your own order by using the
TACMAP, so you can do what's easiest for you


Start out by going up and to the right and shootingt the two guards. That will
get you the "Neutralize Sentries" secondary objective. Go and secure building D
to the right (I know I said do it own your own, but you're right there). Now,
proceed ahead, to the right of the ramp and go right in between two large
containers. Now take a left into a narrow hole between and under a set of three
containers. Use the D-Pad to zoom in with the binoculars to *Identify Snipers*.
Then take them out and head up the ladder all the way to the right.


                               DEFUSE THE BOMBS
                                Bombs 1 and 2

Immediately go right and get to the bomb with the green light around it and
defuse it with X. Now go back to the left and up the small ramp to the next bomb.
Once you're done go into the door on your left to secure Building B. We'll get to
the next one later.


                               RESCUE THE HOSTAGES

Go to building C and say into the headset "Team, Breach, Bang, and Clear" to clear
out the building. Go into each room and rescue the hostage in there by killing the
iron brother in there. In one room, by himself is the Iron Brotherhood leader.
Restrain each worker once you rescue him by going behind him and pressing X. Now
go to Building E. Go through the first room and open the door into the hallway.
Kill the guy and go in the room marked "Authorized Personnel Only". Now you have
*Located the Oil Workers*.

                               DEFUSE THE BOMBS
                                    Bomb 3

Use the TACMAP to look at the back of building E where there are four small
orange-brown dots that are arranged 2x2. There is a bomb on one of thsoe tanks.

Now, finish securing everything if you haven't yet and if you have 'the bird'
will come and bring you home.

||MISSION 4: GOLDEN TRIANGLE HOLIDAY||

                                 SECURE OUTER ISLAND

Start off by heading straight for the reeds in front of you. Then move up and
to the right into the second set of reeds and then to the third. That should
get ou * Insert Via River *. Get up onto the island. Then, crawl under the hut
and hide in the foilage down there to * Eavesdrop for Intel *. Then kill the
Riddah Rouge on the island to * Eliminate Sentries *. Go into the hut for the
Intel.


                                 PREVENT ENEMY ESCAPE

Use the TACMAP to get to the two boats on at the dock on the Main Complex.
Put C4 on each and continue around the hill right and into the hut,* Hut 2 *.
Go in and secure it. Leave, and head straight for the next hut, * Hut 1 *.


                                    RECLAIM BIO DATA

Use the TACMAP to get to the Final Hut. Go in and kill the Riddah and grab
the red folder with the biological symbol on it. Oh no! HQ says it's not the
right stuff and the Rouge moved it upriver! Oh, well. Now, use the TACMAP
to get to the last island, "Zulu". You will be extracted from there.

||MISSION 5: TEMPLE AT HOHN KAEN||
----------------------------------

Objectives:

* Clear Insertion Area *
     Eavesdrop on Locals
* Secure Flank *
     Identify Sentries
     Ambush Flank Guards
* Secure Wife *
* Clear Temple Area *
* Helicopter Extraction *
* Secure Ambassador *

                        CLEAR INSERTION AREA

Kill all the Riddah Rouge in the first area, the water inlet and the
surrounding land to complete this primary objective. Now, look at the TACMAP
and go to "Eavesdrop on Locals" to find the two huts that you must go under
to eavesdrop on the peasant villagers. One's right in front of you in the
water and the other is up the hill to the left. Now get ready and turn on
your nightvision if you havent already.


                               SECURE FLANK

Use the TACMAP to find the gray stone trail to your left and follow it up to
the first temple. Turn immediately left as you enter and go up the mound of dirt
and climb up the wall. There will be three Rouge members there, but they will be
distracted by your team. I can't make any gurantees but the times I've been up
here (I've checked a few times to verify, I haven't even been shot at. When
you've killed all the guys in the open area, go to to NAV Point D and use the
*Identify Sentries* there and *Ambush Them*, this will get your *SECURE THE FLANK*
Don't listen to Boomer about taking it slowly or something like that this plan
works better.

                         SECURE WIFE/CLEAR TEMPLE ARA

Go around the right outside of the temple. Go up the ramp and then
left into the middle of the temple. This will get you past the barricade
that you saw before (you can't blow it up with HE even though you should be
able to). Kill all of the guys here to * Clear the Temple Area *.
Turn right and go through that door and through the passage. Use the TACMAP if
you get lost. Now turn left and exit the temple. Turn right and go into the
small room where "Morgan" is, with two Riddah Rouge members. Kill them both to
rescue her.

                               HELICOPTER EXTRACTION

Now restrain Morgan and command her to follow you. Take her to the helicopter
extraction area right next to where you are (use the TACMAP).

                               SECURE AMBASSADOR

IV. Online Play
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is there to say here? Everybody has their own strategy. You can snipe, you
can go in shooting, you can chuck grenads around randomly, it's all been done,
and everybody is unique. So there's not much to say here. Just always try to
be stealthy unless you have planned otherwise with teammates and don't stay
out in the open too much. Pretty much common sense.

There are three types of games:

One is a gun symbol and that's just a free-for-all shoot 'em up. Kill all of
the other team before they kill you. It's that simple.

One is a bomb symbol. In this, each team has a base. Any team can go and get
the bomb and try to plant it in the other team's base. After it's planted,
the other team has thirty seconds to defuse it.

The last is a square with bars, like a prison cell I guess. In this, the
terrorists have hostages, which they try to keep the SEALs from getting.
The SEALs will try to kill the terrorists without killing the hostages.
