1. Introduction
===============

       Shinkon Gattai Godannar for the Playstation 2 is a 3D Fighting game based
around that of the Godannar Universe.  Fan's of this game will enjoy seeing
and hearing their favorite Mech's and Voice Actor's come to life as you play
through many missions which play throught the anime.  The one thing I will
mention about this game, is that both the Love Story Mode (Ai no Story Mode)
and Sad Story Mode contain spoilers for somewhat of the series, and can ruin
the experience of the show if you haven't seen it all yet.

2. Soul Drive Gauge & Syncronization Gauge
==========================================

       The Soul Drive and Syncronization Gauge is the most important aspect of
this game, both represent the flash of what the anime brings to life in terms
of showing off a normal attack as something flashy.  I'll explain both of these
gauge's below.

       Soul Drive Gauge basically represent's that of a Super Bar, similar to
what you see in Street Fighter Alpha 3 or Marvel vs. Capcom 2.  Whenever you do
a special move (i.e. G Gunner's Strong Buster) the gauge to the far left will
start to rise up. If you choose to let it reach maximum (100%) you will then
have two options to choose from in the midsts of battle, however, You can
either perform a Soul Drive MAX! Super move which will deal massive amounts
of damage to your opponent, or you can use it as a secondary lifebar.  What I
mean by secondary is that when your main lifebar is depleted, but you have a
full Soul Drive gauge, you go into Soul Drive mode, which basically means you
are invincible for a set amount of time, and your mech is able to take special
hits which would leave it open for a massive amount of damage (Think Metal
Zangief or Gold Iron Man from Marvel vs. Capcom), but you lose the ability to
do Soul Drive MAX! moves.

       There is a side effect to the Soul Drive as a lifebar, as you continually
become more powerful the gauge itself also will begin to drain down until it
reaches 0% when this happens, you automatically will lose the round (As if you
were normally KO'ed). One of the most important thing's about the Soul Drive
gauge being used as a lifebar, is that for every hit you take from your
opponent, the Gauge will continually begin to go lower faster and faster until
it reaches 0%  There are also other factor's which can drain your Soul Drive
Gauge as well, such as being hit by your opponent for more than three or four
hits, regardless if you are in Soul Drive mode or not.

       As for the Syncronization Gauge, this gauge represent's you and your
partner's (if the mech is a combines mech) power.  The only use for this Gauge
is that when it reaches it's higher point's you get a more powerful version of
your current move, and also you get to see your (and your partner) character's
pilot come out to actually show off the move.  This bar however does not affect
the Soul Drive MAX! Special, so there will no change on how it changes the
power of your special.

3. How to use this guide in Gameplay
====================================

       Everything that is listed in this FAQ is assuming that your chosen
character is on the left hand side of the screen.  Although there will be times
you will be on the right, you will have to adjust your character accordingly
(An example is Dannar's Counter Knuckle, if you're facing the left you would do
a half circle motion foward, starting from the down arrow and rolling your
thumb to the right, if they are facing left, then you would roll your thumb,
but instead of to the right it would be to the left.)  If this doesn't help you
then "read" the following below for an indepth example on how the motions work
with this game.

       With this said and done, there should be no problem with controls
for the time being.  You may also notice how QCF and HCF are listed in
different ways.  Until the a later revision of this FAQ, this is a
temporary fault of my own that will be fixed sometime.

7. FAQ Questions
================

Q. Isn't this game called "Godanner" instead of "Godannar" ?

A. From what I seen on the official website www.godannar.com *hint
hint*.  The name of the game is called "Godannar" however when you
try to say the game name it sounds like you're saying "Godanner".
This bothered me somewhat, so I went to a friend of mines (Thank
you so much Chaotic Lullaby on this) about this and here is the
response about it:

"i would think.. somthing along the lines of 'godaana' would be
the pronounciation "

[Author Note: This comes from a Japanese person trying to say an English
word, not the phonetical way of saying it]

When you think about the difference between the English and Japanese
way of saying name's certain words would be said in a different way
between the two languages, in a sense you can sum it down to "It's
spelled the way it sounds" kinda deal for us native English speakers,
although the name of the game and show itself is clearly written in
English as "Godannar".



Q. What the hell are most of these moves!?!? I don't remember ANY of
these being said in the show or even REMOTELY looking like they do in
the game.

A. Most of the moves that are in the show are in the game. HOWEVER, most
of these moves dont exist on certain points of the mech (i.e. Dannar
having Counter Knuckle.  Show wise, Dannar never does Counter Knuckle).
With this in mind, most move names had to be made up to describe them
and to give them a feel from the show (i.e. Goddiner's Move Names).
Other move's may overlap another and cause mass confusion when
you read this FAQ and try to compare it to the game (G-Gunner's Strong
Buster and Soul Drive MAX Strong Buster).  Although I am still in the
process of working on this FAQ, playing the game, and watching the show
to rewrite some of the moves, just deal with it for now.


Q. Can a multi-tap be used for 4 Player Action a'la
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Style?

A. At this time, it's unknown on if you can use multitap for 4 player
fighting. Although it's not listed on the box or in the game itself,
there could be a option for this.  But sadly I do not have a multi
tap to test this theory out on.


Q. Can I submit moves and other things you may not have in this
FAQ to you?

A. Of course! I rarely have time to put together FAQ's like this to help out
people, if you want to submit stuff, send it to me (instructions at the top of
the page). And I will put it in where it is needed to.  This FAQ is very
FAR from finished, and right now the more the merrier.  Most of the moves that
were put into this FAQ, came directly from just doing random motions, and their
may be more that I haven't figured out yet to properly pull off.  So send in
moves and get credit when the next revision of this FAQ comes around.
