1) Introduction
This is my first attempt at an FAQ. I chose Yuan Shao because I had just
his 5th weapon when the idea popped into my head. Yuan Shao is a well
rounded general who becomes a powerhouse with his 5th weapon. I only hope
that after you read this FAQ, you have as much fun playing as him as I did.

my consent. Failure to follow this will cause me to find a way to resurrect
Lu Bu and Zhang Liao to do a double musou on you.
3) Brief Character History
Yuan Shao: 154 - 202
Yuan Shao was a patriarch of the famous Yuan family and a descendant of the
founder of the Han Dynasty. He made a commanding presence, intimately
connected to the cream of society. He led as Commander-in-Chief of the
alliance that fought against Dong Zhou. After Dong Zhou's death, he
expanded his domain and his power grew to be a major force in northern
China. He fought Cao Cao but was decisively defeated at Guan Du.
He lost all hope of ruling central China
because he failed to heed the advise of his wise followers, Tian Feng and
Xu You. Shortly after Cao Cao defeated his sons, the despondent Yuan Shao
died of illness.

Unlocking: Like all characters in Xtreme Legends, Yuan Shao is already
unlocked.

Type: Supply Team
A supply team will appear north of the southeast and head for the southeast
entry point. Go after him, defeat and pick up the weapon.
**Note** The 4th weapon can only be retrieved while playing Dynasty Warriors 3.
You cannot get the weapon in Xtreme Legends

Requirements: Defeat Diao Chan before Li Jue and Guo Si arrive.
Type: Precious Item
Go run/ride and defeat Diao Chan. Weapon will show up in a crate in front of
the middle gate where Yuan Shao started in Dynasty Warriors 3.
Fifth Weapon Strategy
Now, one would think that getting a fifth weapon on an early stage would be
pretty easy. However, things are never that easy when playing on Very Hard.
Go and defeat Diao Chan right away. Hua Xiong and Xu Rong should be in the
area. If you don't want to deal with them, lead Hua Xong to Guan Yu and you
will get a cutscene with Guan Yu killing him. Xu Rong will run off to mommy.
At this point, Cao Cao will have been defeated by Lu Bu and Liu Bei and
Gongsun Zan will be getting over run by Li Jue, Guo Si & Jia Xu. At this
point, Lu Bu rode up on me and I defeated him. However, Liu Bei and Sun Jian
had been defeated so now I was the only officer left. I ran and got the weapon
and started fighting the remaining enemy generals by the gate near Yuan Shao's
starting position in DW3. I defeated the officers and then Dong Zhuo.
Yuan Shao's fifth weapon blows away his fourth. The added element, speed and
attack easily replace the loss of extra musou.

The Way of Musou
I alternate the speed scroll with shell armor depending on the stage.
5) Walkthrough
"The noble General, whose bravery and valor earned him a glorious death."
Basically, this is a "what if" story. So "what if" Yuan Shao defeated Cao Cao
at Guan Du?
I) The Battle at Hu Lao Gate
You start out at the top of the path that leads to Fan Shui Gate. Go south
andtake out Wang Fang and Jia Xu. Now, you can either hand around here and
wait for Li Jue and Guo Si to show up but I recommend going towards
Fan Shui Gate. When you get to the gate, Cao Cao's troopsshould be fighting
Zhang Liao and Gao Shun. Take them out. You can then either go after Lu Bu
or head towards Liu Bei. I recommend taking out Lu Bu. If built up Yuan Shao
before starting his musou mode to a rank of 1, you can take Lu Bu's Red Hare.
After Lu Bu's defeat, Cao Cao decides to tell the Allied forces what to do.
He gets a mouthful from you. Head over to Liu Bei's position. By this time,
Guan Yu has probably already taken out Hua Xiong. If not, take him out.
Liu Jue and Guo Si have probably shown up in the area where Jia Xu was.
Wen Chou and Yan Liang can easily handle them. Head south and take out
Diao Chan. Around this time, you should get a cutscene with Cao Cao ordering
a charge. This really annoys Yuan Shao who in turn has some not nice things
to say. Cao Cao will then withdraw from the battle. Go up to Hu Lao Gate.
Sun Jian's forces will be fighting Li Meng. Take him out. Go through
Hu Lao Gate and defeat Li Ru. Take out the gate captains then Dong Zhuo

II) The Battle at Guan Du
You start just northeast of the castle gate. Go and head into the castle and
take out Guan Yu before he meets up with Yan Liang. If they meet, Guan Yu will
kill him in a cutscene. Watch out for the archers when you enter the castle,
there are around 10-15 of them. Start heading for the inner castle where Cao Cao
is. Enroute you will run into Cheng Yu, Liu Yan, Shi Huan, Cao Hong and
Zhang Liao. None of them should be a problem. Enter the inner castle and you
will get a cutscene that Cao Cao has gone into hiding. At this time, Xu Huang
will have shown up. Now you have to go to each of the depot's to find Cao Cao.
When you defeat Xu Huang, Xiahou Yuan, Xiahou Dun and Xu Zhu, it will open up
the gate to the depot they are near.I have found that Cao Cao always seems to
show up in the depot near Xu Zhu. So, go into the depot ant defeat Cao Cao.
Seal of Darkness: You can get this on this stage. Enter the inner castle and
get the cutscene that Cao Cao has fled. The item will show up near the
Northeast depot.

Musou Wine location: Bottom right outside wall of the inner castle.
III) The Battle at Chang Ban
First off, I love this stage. There are two different ways to approach this
stage. What ever way you decide, will change the way Liu Bei's troops flee.
If you head west, Liu Bei's troops will head east to the bottom left entry point.
If you head south, Liu Bei's troops will head southwest towards the water.
Anyway, you start at the top right. Head west through the passage and engage
Zhou Yu. You will get a message that the enemy is trying to escape by land.
Head back to Chang Ban bridge. Take out Zhang Fei. Keep heading south and kill
the peasants that attack you. You should run into Chen Zhen, Mi Zhu, Jian Yong,
Mi Feng and Sun Qian. Combined, these five should be no match for you. When you
defeat all of the peasants, you will get a message that all of the peasents have
been decimated. At this point, Zhang He will leave the battlefield. Liu Bei's
ambush will then show up. No officers, just a whole pile of troops. Guan Yu will
also show up with some boats in the southwest for Liu Bei to escape on. Make
yourway to Liu Bei. You will run into Ma Su and Zhuge Liang who you should have
no problems with. If you want, go and take out Guan Yu then get rid of Liu Bei.
Dim Sum Location: Small square area on the top west path.
Musou Wine Location: From the bottom right, go left past the dip on the bottom
most path.
IV) Battle at Fan Castle
Start off by heading west. Take out Gan Ning. Then head northeast through the
houses to Guan Ping. Defeat him. This will prevent the water attack from
happening and it will save Zhang He. At this point, Lu Meng will show up as
reinforcements. Go and defeat Guan Yu. Head back down into the town are of the
castle and take out Jiang Qin, Lu Meng and Lu Xun. head back to your starting
position and defeat Sun Quan.

Musou Wine: North of Zhang He's starting position.
V) The Battle at He Fei
You start off in the center. Head up the northwest path and take out Dong Xi
and Taishi Ci. Keep heading north to the first path that goes east. Head east
and take out Pan Zhang. A ambush should show up in the top left. The next
choice is up to you, you can either go to the top right or bottom left. This
guide will take you to the top right. Go up to the top right and take out
Gan Ning. Head west through the top left camp. If there are any sub officers
left, get rid of them. Go south to the bottom left corner and defeat Cheng Pu.
Lu Su will be nearby, get rid of him as well. Now it is time to make a push to
Sun Quan. Lu Meng is hanging around the area of the bridge to cross over to get
to Sun Quan. Make an example out of him. Go over the bridge and engage Lu Xun.
Watch out for the crossbow men, they are a plenty in this area. After you
dispose of Lu Xun, keep heading for Sun Quan. Zhou Tai should run up on you.
Make him sorry for doing that. Take out the 3 gate captains in the area if you
want then make Sun Quan sorry for rebelling against you.

Musou Wine Location: Along the path to the top right corner.
VI) The Battle of Jie Ting
You start out at the top of the stage. Head south and defeat
Xu(I need some more cookies) Zhu. Continue south and defeat Xiahou Yuan. I
recommend going to Zhang He's position at this point. Go to the left side. By
thetime you getthere, Zhang Liao's ambush should show up. After you defeat
Zhang Liao, Zhang He will talk about how much of an idiot he was to walk into
an obvious trap. Anyway, go back to the middle path. There should be plenty of
enemy troops and sub officers to defeat. Take out Sima Zhao, Xu Huang, Xin Pi
and Sun Li(that is how they came to me). Go up the Left path heading towards
Zhang He. You will run into Dian Wei and Cao Zhen. They shouldn't be to tough.
Time to make your final push on this stage. Head into Sima Yi's camp. Go
towardsthe left side and beat down Xiahou Dun. When you defeat him, the supply
depot will be destroyed. All that is left is Sima Yi. Defeat him, stage over.

VII) The Battle at Wu Zhang Plains
Ok, you made it. The final showdown with Cao Cao. You start out at the top left.
Cross the bridge and head south. Mr Clean Dian Wei should be lurking around.
Make an example out of him. Zhang He should easily be able to clean up the
remaining troops in the area. Head up north and then into the center section.
Cao Ren will be there(Jiang Wei's position in DW3). Take care of him and head
east to the entrance of the Stone Highland. Xiahou Yuan will be waiting for you.
Bring him to his knees. Now head towards the catapults to make sure they get
activated. An ambush will show up in the vicinity of the catapults around the
85 minute mark. When you get there, the plateau will be surrounded and Gao Lan
will be fending off Zhang Liao. Take out Zhang Liao. The catapult should have
activated by now. Make sure this happens because when it does, Cao Cao leaves
his camp and he and Sima Yi go in opposite directions. Xiahou Dun, Xu Huang and
Cao Pi should be milling around in the area. Dispose of them and head south.
If Sima Yi is still alive, get rid of him. Cao Cao should be surrounded at this
point. Go and make him regret standing up to you.

If you managed to complete the final stage in under 15 minutes, you will get a
specialending. Here is what mine was:

Wei Yan walking up on Yuan Shao, Cao Cao & Zhang He. They were all wearing the

Q) I am playing Xtreme Legends. I do the requirements for Yuan Shao's 4th
weapon but it doesn't show up.
A) You can't get 4th weapons on Xtreme Legends. You can only get them in original
DW3
