Found yet another error plus added a glitch. I also changed the title because
I though the other one was too boring for my liking.

Found an error which has been fixed and other grammatical errors. Plus I added
a new section of the glitches on the Sega Genesis Collection.

2.Introduction INTR

Hello there Phantasy Star IV Fans, this is my first FAQ. This FAQ is dedicated
to all those who like Phantasy Star IV. Some glitches are cool, others fun,
and some just plain annoying.This glitch FAQ was made specifically for Phantasy
Star IV only,it is not made for Phantasy Star I, II, III or any other game.
Well, I hope you enjoy my first FAQ.

3.What Are Glitches? WAGL
===============================================================================
Glitches are blips or bugs in the game that aren't supposed to be there. For
example, if you were walking around in a town and walked through a wall or
person, that would be a glitch because it was an unusual thing that was not
intended to happen in the game. Phantasy Star IV: End of the Millenium does
not have many glitches, but the glitches it does have are quite interesting.
If you find a glitch while use any type of cheat system (GameGenie, etc), it
does not count as a glitch for it was not intended to be used for the game.

4.How Can I Find A Glitch? HCGL
===============================================================================
There isn't really a way to find a glitch. In fact, most glitches are found
completely on accident. So if you want to find a glitch, just play Phantasy
Star IV the way you normally would.

glitches. Some glitches may still be waiting to be discovered. If there is a

I have not seen this but it makes sense because you can't walk around dead.

If you ever happen to get a character to reach level 99, this odd glitch will
occur. Instead of putting a level cap, when you reach level 99 all of your
characters will be leveling down to around 40-50. And everytime you go up a
level,your character will go down another level. Although your stats screen
will say you are level 99.
The thing is, you won't level down but a character may copy another characters
stats causing them to learn other techniques and skills.
This is the most known glitch in Phantasy Star IV:End of the Millenium, I have
not done this glitch myself, but many other people have.

"I have noticed that "Grand Cross" will bypass Zio's magic barrier (I really
hated that guy so I overtrained alot)."
In this case if you over level to the point where you can do the "Grand Cross"
combo, obtain the Phyco Wand to bypass the barrier in the fort then go and
find Zio, Now instead of having to use the wand in the first round, make
Chaz and Rune use "Grand Cross" then you will do damage. However, everyone
else will still do 1 damage maybe 2.

This was pointed out by Bob.As you know after a while, Chaz learns Ryuka, which
take your party to a twon that was already visited.After using the technique
Ryuka, you are indeed outside the town you've selected.So you continue to level
up in the basement in the academy until you learn Ryuka.Now you use Ryuka and
end up outside Piata, but you can't take a step otherwise you are immediately
transported back inside Piata with the guards insisting you can't leave.

I have tested this myself and if you use it you will be told that you can't
leave without permission. Then if you try to talk to anyone, the text box will
be blank until you enter a building or reset the game.

Close to the end of the game, Chaz enters the Sacred Sword Cave to retrieve
Elysdeon. In the beginning of the cave, there is a block that the programmers
forgot to put a solid block there so you can walk through it.

Some armors provide resistance to the physical-type attacks of most weapons,
monsters, and wind attacks. These include Elast-Armor, Elast-Gear, Laco-Gear,
and Mahlaymail. This means that, when equipped, these items change your
physical-type resistance multiplier to 1 (for about half damage from these
attacks).However, all characters have their physical-resistance multiplier
set to 2 at all times except for when they're defending because of the way
the "defend" command is programmed. This means that these armors will provide
defense from physical-type attacks only during an enemy sneak attack round.
Once commands are selected, each character's physical resistance will reset
to its unequipped value.
I found this quite interesting.

This was pointed out by Crystalgate "When a character is equipped with a shield
that protects against a sensitivity factor then that sensitivity factor will
also be applied to normal attacks and skills which uses the element of equipped
weapon. For example, the Ceramic Shield grants protection against fire attacks.
If Rika equips the Ceramic Shield and a weapon then her normal attack, as well
as Double Slash and Disrupt, will deal fire type damage (and whatever type of
damage her Claw deals).
The first place I saw it mentioned is ceuthonymus' FAQ. That FAQ does however
only acknowledge that certain shields add certain sensitivity factors to
attacks, it says nothing about those shields also protecting against said
sensitivity factors. That connection was made elsewhere."
When I heard of this I had to try it, so I did. It is quite interesting to
deal fire damage with a Saber Claw.

"Here's a weird little glitch I noticed in PSIV lately. There's an item sold
on Dezo, in Meese IIRC, called the Tornado Dagger. In shops and party inventory,
it's listed as TORNDAGGER. If you use it as an item in battle though, it comes
up as ORNDAGGER.
It's just a weird little typo, but I thought it was interesting. It means the
item names must be listed twice in the game's code - once for shops and under
a different listing for battles."
I had to check this out for myself. However I didn't have the time so I got a
friend to do it. Isn't it wierd how some of the smallest things can be skipped
so easily?

These are interesting things that aren't glitches but fun to know anyway.Some
may think these are glitches but they are NOT. These are basically fun facts
and other things that are cool and/or may seem like glitches but aren't.

6a.Experiance In The Cave NO6A

In the cave where you retrieve the Elysdeon, Chaz gets into fights with a
monster that gives you 1000 experiance points! Not just to Chaz but your
entire party even though they aren't there. This is a good way to level up.

6b.Removed items NO6B

As you know, there were items that were scrapped from the game, some items
people would prefer they were left in the game. These items included a map for
Motavia and Dezolis (labeled as NOTHING), another axe called Blood Axe (labeled
as NOTHING), another slasher called Spiral Slasher (labeled NOTHING), and
another sheild (labeled NOTHING). The only way to obtain these items would be
to hack the game.

There were some monsters in the English version, or in this case, the USA
version. There were two monsters, Acacia and Shadmirage. I found this
interesting so I decided to add it on this FAQ. It was pointed out to me by
xellos667 and then FreshFeeling displayed the stats.

6d.Defeating Re-Faze NO6D

It is possible to defeat Re-Faze, but you have to use a save state hack to make
yourself have high HP and regenerate HP every round. However once you defeat
Re-Faze, you only get 1 EXP and 1 Meseta, Re-Faze disappears, and you get no
Megid.

6e.Rune And Chaz NO6e

As you know, when you first encounter Rune in the destroyed Molcum. Rune gave
Chaz a hard time with jokes and kept calling him shorty. When Chaz tell's Rune
to stop calling him shorty, he then said "My name is..." Rune then replied by
saying "Chaz, that's what you said your name was, right?" However, how did Rune
know Chaz's name, if you pay attention to the entire conversation, no one
mentions Chaz's name.
An interesting thing was pointed out to me Boksha, apparentally this is caused
due to a bad translation. "Alys' line "Stop it, Rudi!!" was changed to "Stop it,
you two.". A little later on, the line "Rudy's what she called you, right?" was
translated with "Chaz, that's what you said your name was, right?", which are
the same in japanese because the original sentence lacks a subject (which is
common and gramatically correct in japanese). As such, the problem only pops
up in the US version."

When you win a battle, normally the battle music should stop and your map
music should begin.However there is a delay between the two which can be
annoying, (especially for those old school gamers.)

I recieved an email from Cameron BecKwith and was informed upon some
information on this. Though not really a glitch it is funny and interesting.
"regarding the glitch I pasted below, in the recent Playstation 2 genesis
collection release, there is a little info on each game and some tips for
each game. For PS4, they mention that if you get to level 99 you will level
down (as we know), but they imply that this is intentionally done to punish
those who seek too much power. haha. maybe they are just making an excuse for
the glitch, but I'd bet it was likely intentional"
