Devil Drift Car
Finish in first place on the Rivelta Crinale race in Duel Mode to
unlock the Devil Drift car for Free Run, Time Attack, and Duel
Modes.
Volkswagen Beetle
Finish in first place in the Solort Rumeur race in Duel Mode to
unlock the new Volkswagen Beetle car for the Free Run, Time Attack,
and Duel Modes.
McLaren F1 Clone Car
Finish in first place on the Kamata Angelus race in the Duel Mode
to unlock the McLaren F1 Clone Car for the Free Run, Time Attack,
and Duel Modes.
50's Super Drift Caddy Car
Finish in first place on the Danver Spectra race in Duel Mode to
unlock the 50's Super Drift Caddy car for the Free Run, Time
Attack, and Duel Modes.
UNLOCKING EXTRA MODES:
99 Trial
Obtaining more than 999 Kms and you will unlock this mode.
Duel Mode
Finish in first place in both the lap and overall times in the
Standard Time Attack GP.
99 Lap mode
Set the top score in every race of the Time Attack GP in the Extra
Mode, finishing in first place in all of them.
Maximum mode
Finish the game in Grand Prix mode under hard difficulty setting to
unlock Maximum race in Grand Prix.
Pac-Man Mode
Race more than 3,000 kilometers in total distance to get a red car
with a Pac-Man driver. The Pac-Man Ghosts on scooters will race
against the Pac-Man Car.
ADVANCED CAR ABILITIES:
Quick start
When in time attack mode, hold R2 + L2 at the start to get a speed
boost from the instant light turns green.
Select car number
Complete (you do not have to win) the 99 Endurance Race. The game
will change your car number to 01 and unlocks a new feature that
allows you to select your car number.
MISCELLANEOUS TRICKS:
Control the Intro
Press L1 and R1 during the introduction sequence with the girl
walking down the street during a race to cycle through three
different effects for the portion that uses the in-game graphics.
Press R1 for black and white graphics. Press R1 a second time and
the graphics will have a yellow tint. Press R1 a third time to
add blur effect, which will eliminate jagged graphics. Press L1
to cycle back through the various effects.
Some Fun Useless Information On the Screen
When you are racing in the third person view, hold Select to show
information onscreen that includes the amount of pressure you are
using on the controller buttons.
Alternate saved game icon
When you start your game you'll notice that your Memory Card Icon
is of a car. Once you've beaten and unlock everything the icon will
evolve into Ai Fukami.
Familiar Names To Beat
Go to the Highscore screen and notice the names holding some of the
top positons. You may recognize some names from some other Namco
Games such as Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere, Names like Rena, Fiona,
Dision… Yeah, I know it's not really a cheat or a code, but it's
kind of neat.
Extra Music Tracks
Exceed more than 765Km's and you will get new tracks from
MJIK VAN DJIK.
Big Ban
This one is yet to be confirmed so if anyone out there can get this
one to work please contact me.
