FAQ POLICY:
-----------
With 2003 in as of this writing, I have created a new policy for my
FAQs. Please follow this policy.

E-MAIL POLICY: I no longer answer e-mails about anything found in these
guides. My FAQs comprehensively answer the questions, and any e-mail
about content found IN the guides is not tolerated. Please read this and
make sure what you're e-mailing is within bounds of answering. If I
haven't answered a question of yours, then you overstepped the
boundaries.

HOSTING POLICY: These following websites can host all of my guides in
one form of another. NO MORE WEBSITES MAY HOST MY GUIDES UNLESS THEY
HAVE ANY FORM OF COMPENSATION. It's not very fair to have one website
offer me something, and another one not offer me anything. It's not a
greed factor, or anything personal, it's just that some websites do much
better than others to refavor me for my own hard work, and rewarded they
shall be.

(I might have missed one or two, but they likely have less visitors).

COPYRIGHT POLICY: All my FAQs have copyrights starting 2002. Any
copyrights before that are ineffective as of January 1, 2003. You
probably don't care, so don't violate the copyright and you'll be fine.

Sorry to waste your time reading this, but it has to be said in the form
of the new year.

And for the record, this game has not and will not be released in
America, but is out in Japan and Asia as Gun Survivor 2: BioHazard CODE:
Veronica. This game is out in Europe and Australia as Resident Evil
Survivor 2: CODE: Veronica.

This FAQ will cover the Japanese version of the game, so item names are

Now, onto Gun Survivor 2: BioHazard CODE: Veronica.

Here is the game in question.

|                                                 |
-------------------------------------------------

Gun Survivor 2: BioHazard CODE: Veronica is not a direct sequel to
BioHazard Gun Survivor (Resident Evil Survivor in the west). In is more
of an extension to Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X's first part. It takes
place on Rockfort Island, where CODE: Veronica X took place first.

It features Steve Burnside, an island prisoner and Claire Redfield,
survivor of the Raccoon City incident. Rockfort Island is running with
T-Virus creatures, and it is up to Steve and Claire to get to the
island's airport to escape the nightmare.

Of course, this isn't a stand alone game in the series, since it
features less than the original CODE: Veronica X in terms of storyline
and gameplay. Gun Survivor 2: BioHazard CODE: Veronica is similar to
CODE: Veronica X's battle game extra in first person mode. You kill off
enemies, and find keys to reach new areas.

You'll notice many similarities between the 2 games.

Something Gun Survivor 2: BioHazard CODE: Veronica has that wasn't in
the original CODE: Veronica X is a dungeon mode, among other modes. You
may also use the Namco GunCon 2 with the game. The Dual Shock 2 may also
be used.

B. GUNCON 2 VERSUS DUAL SHOCK
-----------------------------

It is unknown right now if the GunCon 2 or the Dual Shock 2 is the best
for this game. As of right now, the only thing I can recommend is the
Dual Shock 2 because that is the only one I have tried. Until I grab a
GunCon 2, I will not be able to write the walkthrough using a GunCon 2.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

C. STRATEGIES
-------------

CONTROL THE GAME CAREFULLY!
With the Dual Shock 2, the game is considerably hard to control. Turning
the character is tricky, and you can get hurt by something you cannot
even see.

HEAD FOR THE DOOR SURROUNDING BY LIGHTING!
This is the door of hope! Head for it!

USE THE MAP ON THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER!
If you don't know where you are going, use the map to help you. Each
territory is marked with a map.

REMEMBER WHERE TO GO!
This one is obvious. Remember the rooms to you go through because some
backtracking will be made (small ones at that).

CONSERVE YOUR HEALTH!
You only have 4 lives and your health can be downgraded considerably by
a zombie. You will want to use the Health Items you see throughout the
game.

START WITH STEVE! HE'S EASIER!
With 2 Gold Lugers as his standard weapon, Steve has a better standard
weapon, and can kill many enemies a lot easier than Claire can with her
single Handgun.

TRY TO BEAT THE MISSION BEFORE TIME RUNS OUT!
Nemesis will appear if you run out of time for the mission. So you will
want to be speedy and quick if you don't want to run into Nemesis.
Nemesis will kill you in one hit, so if he appears, run away like mad.

DESTROY BOXES!
Hidden in boxes are weapons (and sometimes enemies). Those weapons will
automatically be equipped by your character, and are usually more
powerful.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO KILL EVERY ENEMY!
No, you do not, so don't. Ignore Lickers, Bandersnatches and Hunters,
especially.

GET BEHIND YOUR PARTNER CHARACTER!
Your partner seems to live through a lot of damage, so get behind
him/her and let him/her take any suffering it needs. You can shoot
through your partner, too, so you're at a gain overall.

TRY TO KILL BOSSES QUICKLY!
Killing bosses quickly gives you more points!

QUESTION: Is this game out in America?
ANSWER: No.

QUESTION: Will it ever come out in English?
ANSWER: Yes, it is out for UK and Australian PS2s. But I doubt you can
play them unless you grab a PAL TV and a PAL PlayStation 2.

QUESTION: Is the Japanese version worth it?
ANSWER: Maybe if you have a Japanese PS2.

QUESTION: Is this game a real BioHazard game?
ANSWER: No. It is a sub-game to CODE: Veronica X.

QUESTION: Does it cover all of CODE: Veronica X?
ANSWER: No, it covers only the first half.

QUESTION: Will Gun Survivor 3 cover the second half?
ANSWER: No, Gun Survivor 3: Dino Crisis will be based off of Resident
Evil's sister-game, Dino Crisis.

QUESTION: Can the GunCon 2 be used with this game?
ANSWER: Yes. In fact, there is a package with Gun Survivor 2 and the
GunCon 2.

5. C H A R A C T E R S

========================================================================

CLAIRE REDFIELD
AGE: 19
Claire Redfield is a controllable character in the game. If you played
Resident Evil 2 or CODE: Veronica X, you'll  remember her. She is
currently looking for her brother, Chris Redfield, from the first
Resident Evil, as well as trying to get off Rockfort Island. She went to
Raccoon City to find Chris, and ran into Leon in the process. Umbrella,
a pharmaceutical company, had turned the city into a zombie town thanks
to the T-Virus, a toxin that causes living things to become demos. But
that wasn't the first outbreak. It was at the Spencer Mansion, where
Chris Redfield had a mission at. Claire Redfield eventually escaped
Raccoon City a few days before it was nuked, and followed up on clues
that brought her to the Umbrella Headquarters in Paris, France. She is
captured by Rodrigo Raval, and is taken to an island. After an outbreak
on the island thanks to an attack by the supposedly dead captain of
Chris Redfield, Albert Wesker, which prompted Rodrigo Raval to free her,
she meets Steve Burnside and tries to fight her way off the insane
asylum that has the maniac of all maniacs running around.

STEVE BURNSIDE
AGE: 17
Steve Burnside is a teenager. His family was captured and taken into the
island after Umbrella had found out about his father's illegal
activities with the company. Judging from his attitude, he hasn't been
neglected by his family in the past. He was actually well raised, as he
can operate seaplanes, and can shoot guns better than anyone in the
Resident Evil series thus far. He is extremely cocky and evasive when
Claire asks him personal questions. What exactly is he hiding?

RODRIGO JUAN RAVAL
AGE: 32
He captured Claire Redfield in Paris and after Wesker's attack, he lets
her go to survive. Besides Steve Burnside, he is Claire's only other
ally on the island. He doesn't seem extremely useful until middle in the
game, when he provides Chris Redfield with information about Claire. His
role is not big in the game, but like Richard Aiken from Resident Evil,
Marvin Branagh from Resident Evil 2, and Mikhail Victor from Resident
Evil 3: Nemesis, Rodrigo has a small but arguably important roll in the
game.

ALEXIA ASHFORD
AGE: Unknown
Alexia is as depraved as Alfred is. She did some strange experiments on
herself and now she has become a monster. She never died to begin with,
and that's a secret Alfred is keeping with him... during the game she
turns into a monster because of her T- Veronica Virus. She is extremely
pretty though, but looks can be extremely deceiving. She competes with
William Birkin's G-Virus in order to get Umbrella's attention for a
powerful virus.

========================================================================

6. A R C A D E  M O D E  W A L K T H R O U G H

========================================================================

You can play as either Claire Redfield or Steve Burnside. It doesn't
matter, as all objectives are the same. It covers Normal Mode.

A. PRISON MISSION
-----------------
ITEMS: Exit Key
      Submachine Guns
      Shotgun
      Assault Rifle
TIME: 4:00

PRISON GRAVEYARD
Start by shooting every zombie in here. You have unlimited ammo, so you
should have no problem disposing of the zombies. There are around 5 or 6
in here. Run up and grab the SUBMACHINE GUNS or the ASSAULT RIFLE and
continue shooting with those. Once they're gone, take the highlighted
door in the room.

GUILLOTINE CAGE
Shoot the dog that lunges at you with an automatic weapon. Turn the
corner and kill the zombies before running down. At the last door is
another zombie to shoot. Take the door at the end.

BARRACKS HALLWAY
Turn right and start shooting the hell out of all the monsters you see
nearby. It will take a lot of bullets, to be careful and stick behind
your partner. Take to the door with the white arrow pointing to it.

BARRACK
Once again, kill every zombie in here. Then grab the EXIT KEY with the O
BUTTON. Exit.

[By now, Nemesis might have appeared and you might be low on health. Be
VERY CAREFUL.]

BARRACKS HALLWAY
See that big door? Run for it, and kill the Hunter nearby. The Hunter
shouldn't pose that much trouble. Run to the door, and use the key.

COURTYARD
Your first boss awaits.

======================
BOSS # 1: Giant Spider
Difficulty: Medium
This boss can be really tricky. Like the whole game, just shoot the
living hell out of the thing. You will probably get hit a few times.
There is a crate in the corner of the room, so shoot it and grab the
automatic weapon. Keep shooting it, and avoiding its jumps and you will
be victorious.
======================

The mission ends...

B. PALACE MISSION
-----------------
ITEMS: Exit Key
      Shotgun

PALACE COURTYARD
Shoot all the zombies in this room. There are quite a few, so stay where
you are and keep shooting them all. Then run up to the door.

PALACE MAIN HALL
Shoot the crates and zombie dogs will appear. Shoot them to death, and
take the door to the corner.

PALACE HALLWAY
There is a spider. It is smaller than the boss. Shoot it, and it
shouldn't be able to get to you. Once that thing's down, take the door
left of the dead spider.

PROJECTOR ROOM
Look in the small annex hallway and shoot the crate for a SHOTGUN. Then
head for the other door in this room.

PALACE HALLWAY 2
Kill or ignore the Licker, and then head for the double doors across.

PAINTING ROOM
Run up to the big picture and grab the EXIT KEY. Then exit the room,
avoiding the Bandersnatches.

PALACE HALLWAY 2
Turn left, and kill everyone in here. A Licker will pop out, so take the
door to the right.

CONFERENCE ROOM
Another boss awaits.

======================
BOSS # 2: Sweeper
Difficulty: Medium
This boss can be really tricky. Like the whole game, just shoot the
living hell out of the thing. You will probably get hit a few times.
There is a crate in the corner of the room, so shoot it and grab the
automatic weapon. Keep shooting it, and avoiding its jumps and you will
be victorious. (Notice how the strategy is the same for this boss as the
last one?)
======================

Your next mission begins.

C. MILITARY TRAINING FACILITY MISSION
-------------------------------------
ITEMS: Key 1
      Exit Key

PASSAGE
Kill everyone here, and turn left. Avoid the bandersnatch.

MTF YARD
Kill the nearest enemy and aim for the double doors to your left.

MTF MAIN HALL
In here, kill the Licker as fast as you can, and turn right. When the
zombies rise, back up and start shooting them. Aim for the door passed
them.

BALCONY YARD
Spider alert! Shoot them from where you are and then run to the door at
the base of the stairs.

DIORAMA ROOM
Quickly shoot your nearest opponent. You'll likely get bitten, so watch
out. Head for the door to the right.

LONG HALLWAY
Kill everyone in here, and shoot the crates to the left. There is a
health item there. Use it. Then head for the final door.

STEVE'S DAD ROOM
Kill everyone here and take the door to the left.

TANK RO0M
Hunter alert! Watch out and shoot all the enemies. Then grab the EXIT
KEY. Run back the way you came.

STEVE'S DAD ROOM
Run back the way you came to the LONG HALLWAY.

LONG HALLWAY
Run to the DIORAMA ROOM.

DIORAMA ROOM
Run the way you came again, to the BALCONY YARD.

BALCONY YARD
Kill the spiders once again. Then head up the stairs. Nemesis might
appear now, so be careful.

MTF HALLWAY
Run down, ignore the Licker and then head for the door with the yellow
arrow pointing at it.

STORAGE ROOM
Kill everyone. Grab the EXIT KEY and leave.

MTF HALLWAY
Run back and zombie dogs will pop through the windows. Ignore them and
exit.

BALCONY YARD
Take the door across from you.

CONTROL ROOM
Kill everyone here, especially the zombie dog and zombie. Then take the
elevator to your left.

BF1
Take all the ammo here and run to your left and use both keys on the
door.

MTF BOSS ROM
Yet another boss awaits.

======================
BOSS # 3: Nosferatu
Difficulty: Medium
Kill both Bandersnatches first and then concentrate on Nosferatu. Shoot
anything you have on him and stay far away from him. Try to aim for his
heart. Eventually, he should die.
======================

D. PRIVATE RESIDENCE MISSION
----------------------------
ITEMS: Exit Key

Nemesis will chase you. Run down and follow the arrows up the ladder.

L HALL
Take out the crates and the dog and run to the roll up gate.

BRIDGE
Run across the bridge.

FORK ROOM
Kill the Sweepers and take the door ahead of you.

DOCK
Take the Bandersnatch out. Then go up the stairs before Nemesis gets to
you.

PRIVATE RESIDENCE STAIRWAY
Run up the stairs and ignore every monster and go through the double
doors.

PRIVATE RESIDENCE MAIN HALL
Take the stairs up and ignore the crates. Try to shoot the Banders, but
make sure Nemesis doesn't get you.

HALLWAY
Shoot the Licker and take the nearby door.

TUNNEL
Shoot every bastard zombie you see here, and run for the door at the
end.

SPENCER ESTATE MAIN HALL
You'll see Alexia Ashford, and you'll have a repeat boss battle.

======================
BOSS # 4: Giant Spider
Difficulty: Medium
This boss can be really tricky. Like the whole game, just shoot the
living hell out of the thing. You will probably get hit a few times.
There is a crate in the corner of the room, so shoot it and grab the
automatic weapon. Keep shooting it, and avoiding its jumps and you will
be victorious.
======================

Once the thing is dead, take the double doors passed the spider.

RED HALL
Take the healing item if you like. Then take the door to the left.

Y HALL
Run down and to the right. Kill all the Lickers and take the door to the
left.

ASHFORD BEDROOM
Grab the EXIT KEY. Then exit the way you came. Watch out for Sweepers.

Y HALL
Watch out for the Lickers. Head for the RED HALL.

RED HALL
Head for the SPENCER ESTATE MAIN HALL. Yet ANOTHER boss battle...

======================
BOSS # 5: Alexia I and 2 zombie dogs
Difficulty: Medium
Take out the zombie dogs as Claire fights Alexia. Once they're gone,
shoot Alexia and avoid her fire attacks. She can be dangerous that way.
======================

The mission ends...

E. AIRPORT MISSION
------------------
ITEMS: None

Now it's time to end this!

CAROUSEL ROOM
Run to the left and through the door there.

Z HALLWAY
Run down and collect all the ammo! Heal yourself, too. Not ANOTHER
boss!!

======================
BOSS # 7: Tyrant
Difficulty: Hard
Damn! Talk about hard! All I have to say is shoot the hell out of that
thing! Keep your distance and keep moving, too! It can take away heaps
of health if you aren't careful! Keep moving R1 and L1 to shoot it
constantly, and you have this battle won!
======================

Game over... or is it?

========================================================================

Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X where Gun Survivor 2: BioHazard CODE:
Veronica draw from. The PS2 version came with a demo off Devil May Cry.
The game was released on March 22, 2002 in Japan for both Dreamcast and
PS2, and came out in the US August 28, 2001.

Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X's storyline factors into Gun Survivor 2's
only in that Rockfort Island and Claire and Steve trying to escape.
CODE: Veronica X's second half, the Antarctica section, doesn't factor
into the Gun Survivor 2 storyline (but some areas from Antarctica are in
Gun Survivor 2, but they're still on Rockfort Island.)

CODE: Veronica X had more characters in the game, too. Albert Wesker,
Chris Redfield, and Alfred Ashford are noticeably missing from the game,
who knows why.

Enough ranting, grab a copy of CVX if you haven't already!
