II. Overview of FAQ

This guide is created in order to assist Onimusha: Blade Warrior/

guide, players would know, understand and find the best tactics that you can
do when using this player.

III. Who is Magoichi Saiga?

He heads the Kishu Saiga Gun Battalion, a paramilitary sort of group,
whose firearms consist of Tanegashima rifles. He was one of anti-
Genma heroes who supported Jubei alongside Ekei, Oyu and Kotaro.
After helping Jubei get rid of Nobunaga, he continues to train
himself in order to get ready for another possible encounter with
the Genmas. He's also one of the few characters in the game that has a
gun as a weapon.

XI. Techniques

Gun Shot - Hold R1 and press Square

* Magoichi takes aim at a targeted enemy and fires a shot. Be warned that
 it drains your special gauge.

Shoryuken - Press Up and Square together

* A good move to use when you're fighting against aerial baddies or when
 you need room.

Dash Attack - Press Forward, Forward and Square

* Another move to use when you need to get away from the enemy.

Hadouken - Hold Square until weapon flashes, hold toward enemy and
          release Square

* Not powerful than the Charge Move.

Charge - Hold Square and release it only when your weapon flashes

* Magoichi's weapon fires 3 bullets when done. Won't work if you're
 fighting from a different plane.

Disarm - Hold R1 and press Triangle

* Handy to use when you need time to get away from the baddies. He'll
literally whack them with a rifle butt attack.

Kick - Press Triangle

* The move is vertically higher than most kick moves.

Finisher - Hold Down and Press Square when over downed enemy

* Very effective, learn to use it well.

Jump Attack - Press Square after jumping

* In my opinion, there's not much use for this technique.

Leg Chopper - Press Down and Square together

* This move does not matter to Magoichi, who fights with a gun.
Use only if an enemy is near you.

Fire Ball - Hold R1 and press Triangle when in possession of a Fire
           Tactical Orb

* The first 3 fireballs give a moderate amount of damage. But the fourth
one has insane damage after charging up from the 3rd shot.

Tornado - Hold R1 and press Triangle when in possession of a Wind Tactical
         Orb

* Use this move only when multiple enemies are surrounding you.

Lightning Combo - Hold R1 and press Triangle when in possession of a
                 Thunder Tactical Orb

* Like the tornado orb, you have to be up close to an enemy in order to
 use it effectively.

XII. Combos

Basic Combo - Square, Square, Square

* The aid of a gun shot at the end of the combo can do massive damage.

2 Hit Combo to Shoryuken Move (Easy combo)
- Push Square, Square, Up and Square.

* Use this combo if you need some breathing speace only.

Gun Shot Move to 3 Hit Combo (Easy combo)
- Hold R1 button and push Square four times.

* Use it only when you can't do the 2 Hit Combo to Shoryuken Move and when
you need a lot of room fast.

Kick Move to Tornado (Easy combo)

WARNING
* Use this move when you have a Wind Tactical Orb in your possession

- Push Triangle, then hold R1 and push the Triangle button again.

* A faster alternative to the other two combos if you have a Wind Tactical
 Orb with you.

Gun Shot, 2 Hit Combo, Shoryuken to second Gun Shot (Hard Combo)
- Hold R1 and press Square, release R1 and pres Square 2x, Up and Square and
push the Square button for the last time.

* This combo is handy when you have an enemy backed to a corner in the arena.

XIV. Strategies

Real World Strategies:

- Magoichi is only of the three characters in the Onimusha game (next to
Megaman [Rockman in the Japanese version] and Zero) to have
firearms as their main weapons. So, make use of all his moves in
order to succeed, with the exception of some moves that are not
 worth using.

- Use his charged shots often. Normal gun shots are a waste of the
special gauge, since you may need it to block incoming attacks.

- Equip both Black Necklaces 1 and 2 before going into battle. They'll
help Magoichi since he uses gun shots as an offensive, especially
since the special gauge needs a lot of recovery if Magoichi has to
 use ordinary gun shots.

- If you're targeting baddies, use the targeted charged gun shot
(Done by holding R1 before pressing Square). It's a better
alternative to use than pressing Square itself.

- Take advantage of the combos that have a tactical orb attack
included. You'll need its help when going against bosses.

- When you need to take down an enemy with full health (such as
Zombies and Oda Samurais), charge your gun and release it
to fire a stream of bullets at them.

- The best rifle to use here is the Beam Rifle. Not only is it
good for the charged gun shots, but its bullets (or whatever you
call it) seems to hit a nearby baddie.

- Keep using his Shoryuken always. There are times that he'll be
cornered by the enemy. You'll need this move a lot.

Phantom Realm Strategies:

- Like in the real world, the Black Necklaces will be needed,
since you'll have to fire a lot with Magoichi's gun.

- Keep moving! You don't want to be a sittting duck for the Genma
 enemies to cut you down.

- Use the targeted charged gun shot. It's power can take down
enemies, even the bosses here in the Phantom Realm.

- Switch planes when you've shot at an enemy. You'll never know
when another enemy decides to stab you at the back.

- Use the Fire Ball move when enemies are lined up in a single line
and use the Tornado move when surrounded by a bunch of baddies.

- Try to gain an upper hand by trying to use weapons from the
chests even before launching an assault on the surviving bad
 guys.

- Activate the Dash Attack. It can take care of the weaker enemies
and it can knock out the strong ones in case you need to get
away or you need to finish him/her off, I reiterate that you
need to move a lot here.

- If two to three enemies are close to each other, use the
Lightning Combo to dispose of them and don't forget to finish off
 the survivors too.

XV. Boss Tactics

Chapter 4 - Jujodormah

Start charging up your gun the moment the match begins. Open fire
at her when she heads to the same plane as you are. Do the same
thing when she tries it again. When you do this pattern, she can
do two things, either to chase you or to whack open chests. If
she tries to hit you, charge your rifle when she proceeds to do
so and open fire when she's near. Otherwise, fire at her and
absorb souls or collect any item that falls out of the chest
itself. Deal with the supporting baddies if they are a threat to
you only.

Chapter 8 - Hecuba

Keep your distance from her. Start charging your gun and move to a
corner. When Hecuba approaches you, open fire and don't let your guard
down for a second. Continue to do so until she's near you. When so,
prepare to run to the other side of your position. If you're lucky
enough to acquire a tactical orb, use it on her when she's close to
your position. Just don't jump to any other plane or Hecuba will
launch some purple fireballs at you, which you can't block.

Chapter 10 - Nobunaga

This boss will be a real test to your skills with Magoichi. For a start,
be sure that you were able to secure at least around 3-4 Talismans,
just in case you mess up your fight with demon boy himself. Then, begin
creating some distance between you and Nobunaga by getting away from
him as soon as the match starts. Charge your weapon and when he's near
you, unleash your rifle and blast him. Don't forget to keep an eye for
some enemies who might distract you from your battle with Nobunaga. Kill
them only when you're not near the boss. If you had the luck of getting
a tactical orb, then open fire with it when Nobunaga happens to be next
to your position. But if Nobunaga manages to wrestle with you over a
tactical orb, you're better off running away from him or you'll lose a
lot of health. Just keep on doing the steps all over again until you
get him.
