I. BLACK & WHITE GLOVES
-----------------------
Anybody notice you CAN NOT select Black & White gloves in the
Equipment section. An apparent GLTICH, EA overlooked! Well those Of you
who have FAVORITE PLAYERS and are real sticklers for their appearance
(like me) can use this trick to have SOME particular players use Blk &
Wht gloves.
1. EXAMPLE: Say you have a FAVORITE player, who's a sophomore and you
got another player on the team (who plays the SAME POSITION) who's a
sophomore too. Your Fav has Black gloves (or NO gloves at all), and the
other sophomore has Blk & Wht gloves. Well here's what you do... copy
the guy with the Blk & Wht gloves stats, looks and other info on a
separate sheet of paper. Then transfer all the data of your favorite
player to the athlete with the rare gloves.
2. Once you've done this, transfer the information you copied on the
sheet of paper to your original favorite player! Now your star player
has a sweet set of gloves. WARNING: Under NO circumstances should you
tamper with the gloves. If you try and switch them in any scenario, you
CANNOT get them back, unless you reload your previous SAVE. By the way,
once all the data is transferred DO NOT forget to save it to your
memory card.
II. TIP: Created Players
-------------------------
This same trick can be used to make created characters (technically
speaking) "permanent"! If you create a player, his name will show up in
the DELETE section. Alot of created players in my game saves are
"permanent", they are in the Roster, but they won't show up on the
DELETE MENU! The player you swapped them with will appear in the
deleted menu instead.
III. F.Y.I: Roster GLITCHES
---------------------------
WARNING: The limit of created players in the game is "34". To exceed
the limit will cause the Depth Chart & Roster to GLITCH. Now this part
is vital: When your created roster is at "34" and you want to add new
players, you MUST DELETE atleast "18" players before creating any new
ones. Deleting any amount below "18" means you roster will still suffer
the same GLITCH as mentioned above! Once the "18" are deleted you can
create new ones or re-create those you wanted to keep. If your roster
is at "33" or less you can still add a player or detract players...
without having to delete "18" of them. To avoid any problems, I'd
suggest keeping your Roster at atleast "33" or less.
IV. Realistic Slider Settings
------------------------------
VARSITY & ALL AMERICAN
++++++++++++++++++++++
These sliders compliment each other, and are practically "UNIVERSAL."
Meaning that the realistic effect is generally the same in EA's
NCAA Football 2002, as well as the MADDEN SERIES: 2001 & 2002. All
sliders from FAR Left, so +10 is middle, +20 is max. PLENTY THANKS &
MADD PROPS to STUN-GUN for the "Realistic" Slider Settings! The Penalty
Settings were desgined by an anonomyous gamer on the NCAA Football 2002
Message Board & slightly tweaked by me. Lastly, a final shoutout to
Absolute Himself, for the Heisman Slider Settings!

customized by either: appearance, stats or both to match their real
counter-parts. Regardless the Roster will never be 100% accurate. Some
players classes will be incorrect, due to inaccurate grade rankings by

VI. SharkPort FAQ
------------------
What is a SharkPort? Can you download game saves? Can you
download code saves? What, if any, PlayStation 2 titles aren't
supported? All these questions and more, already answered for your
convenience. By GameShark Support 2001-08-08
Question: What is a SharkPort?
Answer: SharkPort is a code and game save transfer kit for the PS2.
Download game saves from the internet or you can upload them from your
memory card(s) unto your computer. Also swap saves with friends and
others. Lastly you can use the SharkPort to download GameShark codes.
Question: What do I need to use the SharkPort?
Answer: You'll need a PlayStation 2 game console, an IBM compatible PC,
a PS2 memory card for transferring game saves, and a GameShark 2 for
code save use.
PC REQUIREMENTS:
Pentium 100 MHZ or higher processor
Windows 98 or later
16MB or more RAM
30 MB Hard Drive Space
2MB or higher video card
4X CD-ROM
1 USB Port
Question: The PC software disk will not read in my computer, where can
I download the software from?
Answer: You can download the SharkPort PC Software from the downloads
section of this site.
Question: Is the SharkPort compatible with the Mac OS?
Answer: No, unfortunately, the SharkPort is not compatible with the Mac
OS.
Question: Is the SharkPort comaptible with Win XP?
Answer: Yes, the SharkPort is compatible with Win XP. However, you must
use the SharkPort 2.0 PC software from the downloads section of this
site. Note: Please uninstall your previous SharkPort software before
install this update.
Question: I am getting an error to "Please Install Cable Drivers" when
I try to launch the SharkPort software.
Answer: This error indicates that the SharkPort drivers did not
properly install on your PC. To correct this problem you will need to
manually install the drivers for the SharkPort. Please follow the
instructions below to manually install the SharkPort Drivers.
1. Click START -> SETTINGS -> CONTROL PANEL
2. Double click on "Add New Hardware"
3. When prompted select that you want "the Hardware from a list"
4. Select "Other Devices" from the list of hardware and then click Next
5. Click on the Have Disk button
6. Enter the letter for your CD-ROM drive (i.e. D:) under the box to
"copy manufacturers files from"
7. Select the "XLink Cable" and Click Next
8. When prompted click "Finish" and the restart your computer
Question: Can I use the SharkPort on the PSX or PSOne?
Answer: No, the SharkPort is only compatible with the PS2.
Question: Can I use the SharkPort to transfer PSX game saves?
Answer: No, the SharkPort is only compatible with PS2-based memory
cards.
Question: How can I use the SharkPort when my computer and PS2 are in
different rooms?
Answer: We designed the SharkPort in a manner that requires little
interaction on the PS2. You will just need to move your PS2 near your
computer (no TV or controller required) and boot your PS2 with the
special SharkPort disk. Everything is controlled via the PC.
Question: Do I need a GameShark 2 to use the SharkPort?
Answer: No, you do not need a GameShark 2 to use the SharkPort if you
wish to transfer and manage game save information, although you will
need a GameShark 2 if you would like to utilize any code saves.

Question: Can I hack my own GS2 codes with the SharkPort?
Answer: No, the SharkPort and the SharkPort USB Link Cable can only be
used for game save and code save transfer/management.
Question: An error keeps occurring when I press the "Read Data" button,
what am I doing wrong?
Answer: Nothing, there may be an incompatible save contained on your
memory card. If the incompatible save is removed from the card, the
SharkPort software will function properly.
Question: What games are incompatible with my SharkPort?
Answer: Here is the current list of known incompatible game saves:

MDK 2: ARMAGEDDON
Question: My GameShark is booting with black screen after I transferred
a code save.
Answer: This problem will occur when using any version of the GameShark
2 below version 1.3. Please contact our Consumer Service dept. at
[email protected] to order the GameShark update CD.
Question: Why does the SharkPort software keep shutting down when
trying to read my memory card?
Answer: Your SharkPort will have problems reading your memory card if
you have saved games for either Rayman 2 or Super Bust-A-Move on your
memory card. Deleting or transferring these saved games to another
memory card will correct your problems.
Question: I just got the 1.8 (or later) version of the GameShark 2 and
now I am receiving errors when I try to transfer a code save.
Answer: GameShark 2 versions 1.8 and later are not compatible with the
1.x versions of the PC SharkPort software. To correct this problem you
will need to download and install the new SharkPort 2.0 software. The
SharkPort 2.0 software is available in the downloads section of this
site. Note: Please uninstall your previous SharkPort software before
install this update.
Question: When I download code saves in Win ME/2000/XP they are saved
as security certificates and do not work with the SharkPort.
Answer: For Code saves to work properly in Win ME, Win 2000, or Win XP
you will need to:
1. Double Click on My Computer
2. Select Tools form the menu bar
3. Select Folder Options
4. Click on the View tab
5. Remove the check marks for Hide file extensions for known file types
and Hide protected operating system files. Click OK
6. Now when you go to download the code save from our web site you will
need to rename the extension from .p7b to .spc
This will save the file properly on computer so that the save will work
with the SharkPort
Q: I am getting an error to please insert a PS2 formatted disk when I
start my PS2 with the SharkPort CD.
Answer: Sony recently released a new revision of the PS2 with a date
code of "1C" (You can check the back of your PS2 to see if you have
this revision.) In order to get your SharkPort to work on this revision
of the PS2 you will need an updated CD. To inquire about ordering this
update CD please contact our consumer service dept. at
