This guide contains a listing of current NBA rosters, ignoring injuries and
without any missing players added. It is intended to help you update your
NBA Live 09 PS2 rosters without having to create anyone; as such, it is NOT
100% accurate but should be preferable to playing with the outdated default
rosters.
It is probably easiest to simply use the SIGN/RELEASE PLAYERS menu to take
players off their default rosters and then place them on the correct team,
using the following roster listings as a guide. Once you have finished moving
players, you may also reorder the lineups according to the listings, or set
your own lineups if you wish.
Following the roster listings is a list of EDITS for each team. These are
changes you will need to make in the EDIT PLAYER screen. This will ensure you
have correct jersey numbers and player positions, the latter of which is very
important when it comes to substitutions.
Since there is no way to remove players from the visible rosters in the PS2
version, I have also included a list of players you may wish to edit so
that all of their ratings are 1. This should ensure they are wiped from the
Free Agent pool when you begin a new Dynasty game, so they won't show up and
be signed by CPU teams. These edits are entirely up to you as you may want to
keep them but the players I've indicated are either currently playing in Europe
or retired from professional basketball. If you're like me and bit geeky for
realism, you'll probably want to at least make the changes for the retired
players.
NOTE: There are two Marcus Williams in the game and one of them has
Maurice (Mo) Williams' portrait and some of his ratings. By default,
Maurice Williams is on the Bucks roster and is listed at 6'1", having
played 66 games in the 2007/2008 season. Make sure you place the right
player on the Cavaliers' roster.

However, I recommend editing all of their ratings to 1 so that they will be
rated lower and thus pruned from the Free Agent pool when you start a
Dynasty game.
