===The History of Mortal Kombat===
Mortal Kombat is the tournament between Earth Realm's best warriors and the Out
World's best warriors as it decides the fate of Earth Realm. Shao Kahn, the
emperor of Out World, seeks Earth Realm and tries to invade it where the Elder
Gods had created a tournament under the name of '''Mortal Kombat'''. If Out
World defeated Earth Realm's warriors in 10 tournaments, Earth Realm will fall
to the tyrant's hands. Out World had already won 9 tournaments and beating the
''Great Kung Lao'' whom Goro defeated. In the tenth, Shang Tsung, had picked
some of Earth's best martial artists whom included: Liu Kang, Johnny Cage and
Sonya Blade. Liu Kang succeeded in freeing Earth from Shao Kahn's dirty hands.
But after then, Out World forces begin to attack Earth Realm even though Earth
is supposed to be safe for 1 generation. The Tarakatan Warriors spread into the
Wu Shi Academy, killing its shaolin monks. And it's Liu Kang and Kung Lao's
duty to save the world.
===The Boss Tips===
====Defeating Oni Warlord====
Oni Warlord is nothing but a big oni, player can defeat him even without this
help. To defeat him, keep launching fireballs (as Liu Kang) or keep teleport
attack (as Scorpion) and when he launches his move, run towards him and press O.
====Defeating the Out World Assassins====
You must first tire Kitana and free her from the spell by keeping Mileena and
Jade from escaping her. Then keep injuring the 2 assassins until they are
thrown to one of the traps. When they are thrown, go to the pullover and Test
Your Might. Keep doing it until they are defeated.
====Defeating Reptile====
=====Defeating The Giant Serpent=====
First step in beating Reptile is defeating his giant "pet" snake. Avoid his
movements and destroy the stone columns. The ground should come crashing down
with the snake, where you will fight Reptile.
=====Defeating Reptile=====
It is as simple it could be. Keep punching him, if he teleported to the head of
the snake and launch you with blasts, do the following:
Evade them by pressing R2+[Direction]+X and DO NOT jump.
When he disappears, it is better to the following:
As Kung Lao: Keep Spinning
As Liu Kang: Keep performing Flying Kick
As Scorpion: Keep performing Hellfire Kick
As Sub-Zero: Keep performing Ice Slide
====Defeating Baraka====
Keep evading his techniques and punch him. Keep doing it until he gets to the
other side and tries to shoot you with his blasts. When he is doing that, keep
launching Fireballs or throw your hat. When the swords are down, take them...
Win in the test your might battle with Baraka... THEN IMPALE HIM by pressing R2
towards him (Not directly IN FRONT of him). Do it with both swords and he will
be dazed. Finish Him and it is done.
**NOTE** When Baraka throws burning monks, launch them away, they should give
you health.
====Defeating Goro====
Goro is the weakest boss after Oni Warlord to me... Keep evading his attacks,
and when he catches you... Win in test your might. When performs his attacks,
evade them and run towards him by pressing O with it. Okay, this is the easiest
part, the part of Goro holding the giant stone column. Don't get too close to
him. When he slams the column to the ground, evade it directing the evasion
towards Goro. Before he could lift it up, run towards him and press O. Do it
until he is defeated. Really easy, no?
**NOTE** before facing Goro with a little distance, you will have to face Kuai
Liang, the younger Sub-Zero. You won't kill him, you will fight him, and then
he will assist you in your quest. But he won't be there fighting alongside you
against Goro.
====Defeating Scorpion====
=====Defeating Scorpion=====
Beware, Scorpion is the second most powerful boss after Shao Kahn. At first,
attack him normally. When he is escaping and performing RAISE HELL attack. Go
to him and evade the attack. In some moment. He will throw his spear to the
platform on the ground (In the shape of MK's Dragon) and interact it. Pull the
spear and Scorpion will be dragged down. Defeat him and make sure your health
is ultimately high. Because the hard part is coming...
=====Defeating ''Inferno'' Scorpion=====
After you throw him to hell, he will reappear with skin tone Red from anger.
And rips his mask off, showing the flaming skull which he truly is. Avoid his
brutal techniques especially the one which he keeps throwing it towards
everywhere around him. And launch Fireballs at him until he is stunned (MAX
Fireball LVL. required) and punch him. When he is dazed, FINISH HIM. Then you
will find the hell skeletons trying to pull down Scorpion to the grounds of
Hell. When he dragged, he tries to escape, but the performer of the fatality
catches a skeleton and throws it on Scorpion causing him to fall down in Hell.
Then he raises his thumbs will sinking as a sign for respect before his death.
====Defeating Shang Tsung====
Shang Tsung is the second weakest character despite being a Sub-Boss. When he
morphs into Johnny Cage, power slam him (Second Upgrade of THROW) and when he
is down, do it again, and again, and again and again, until he is completely
loses. Then Finish Him.
====Defeating Kintaro====
Same way as Goro, but he is a little more difficult.
====Defeating ''Shao Kahn''====
=====Normal Shao Kahn=====
Keep away from Shao Kahn, and launch Fireballs combo towards him. Only Liu Kang
can easily beat that guy. Do not jump because he will catch you. Keep away and
launch these fireballs combos until a scene is shown.
=====Defeating ''Hammered'' Shao Kahn=====
This is the hard part... Keep away from Shao Kahn and do what you have done
with normal Shao Kahn (Fireball Combo). And when he is near, Long Jump (L1+X)
away, especially when he spins the hammer too fast. When your health is
lowered, use the item Jax left you on a cursor that is green colored ball (How
to earn it is below). When you defeat Shao Kahn, a scene shows Raiden turning
Shao Kahn to a statue, and Liu Kang with Kung Lao kills him. Then some talking
happens with a funny scene which Johnny Cage says: Maybe I'll search for that
clone they mentioned earlier. And when the heroes go away, the wrecked
sorcerer, Quan Chi, is seen holding Shinnok's Amulet whom he will use it later
in Deadly Alliance.
**IMPORTANT NOTE** How to get the item Jax left?
Before entering the arena, go right, where you will find a woman in a cell,
it's Kitana! Talk to her 3 or 4 times, until guards appear from a door. Kill
those guards and enter the door they entered from. There you will find Jax
Briggs trying to save Sonya Blade, and when he does, Kano appears. This will
turn on a SECRET BOSS BATTLE against Kano. This is the best one, because Kano
is weak, and a third member will join you ONLY THIS BATTLE. Then Jax leaves
with Sonya, but before it he gives Liu Kang a green colored energy ball that
you will use in the battle with Shao Kahn. Go to it during the battle with Shao
Kahn and interact it, in the bottom of the arena, a Medium Health will appear.
Take it, and complete your battle.
''WARNING!!!''
Do not use that item against any sub-boss as Shang Tsung and Kintaro, only use
it against Shao Kahn, because he is the ultimate enemy. Whom I have no idea who
could I beat him ALONE in the second try!
====Unlocking Characters====
=====Johnny Cage=====
KO-OP required. In the Portal (Out World) after you get out of the Wu Shi
Academy, go to the left until you reach the end. You will find two colored
plates on the ground. Each player must touch it, and a land will emit from the
wall, that land keeps getting in and out. Jump on it, then jump again to the
roof of the wall. There you will find the red token. Take it to unlock Johnny
Cage in Versus Mode.
=====Kitana=====
In the Evil Monastery, the area where you first get the Multality. After it,
there are two statues of Evil Priests where they required Fist of Ruin ability.
Before it, there are a group of columns, jump on the one which is half broken
then jump on the roof near it. Continue the path and you'll find a token
includes Kitana in Versus Mode.
=====Reptile=====
In the Living Forest, the areas after you face the Brothers of Shadows. There
is a gap with a little waterfall. Long jump across it AND DO NOT FALL INTO
WATER. Enter the door after that gap. There you will find a living tree after
it 2 clay soldiers. Break the shields of the clay soldiers. You only need one
warrior of them. Throw one into the water and follow him. Watch out from the
serpents. Get the warrior in front of the giant stone column and launch him
toward it using Triangle (Uppercut as Liu Kang, Scorpion. Spin as Kung Lao.
Slide as Sub-Zero). The column should come crashing down. Go back to the tiny
waterfall you were at. There will be no longer a waterfall. There will be a
token that unlocks Reptile in Versus Mode.
=====Baraka=====
In the Soul Tombs, the area where there is a priest you need to break after you
throw Tarakatan Warriors into a spike that come down. Destroy that priest
statue, and go further after the gaps on the small land. Complete that until
you reach the other side of the upcoming door. There will be a token that
unlocks Baraka in Versus Mode.
=====Scorpion=====
Scorpion is a character that can be played in versus, single and KO-OP. In
foundry follow the pathway downstairs to the left of the save station. Two
archers will bust through the wall. Throw one at the wall to the left of the
door way and it will bust open revealing a secret room full of lava and a yin
yang on a ledge. Grab one of the archers and throw them in the lava. Then
double jump off the guards back to claim the Scorpion yin yang for VS.
Alternately, do the following code in Main Menu: Hold L2 press: square, up, L1,
R1, left, right, square release L2. **NOTE** to know if it is true, you will
hear a confirmation sound. WARNING!!! The way to unlock Scorpion during
adventure only unlocks him in versus mode. To unlock him in KO-OP and single
player during adventure, beat the game with Liu Kang.
=====Sub-Zero=====
Sub-Zero is a character that can be played in versus, single and KO-OP. In
Wastelands, the blood lakes after you face Sub-Zero. Complete the path of the
blood lake to the door that Sub-Zero will weaken it, there will be 2 statues in
shaped of Lions. The left one has a yin yang token that unlocks Sub-Zero.
Alternately, if you weren't lucky in that like me… Use the following code in
the Main Menu to unlock him: Hold L2 press: square, down, up, L1, L1, up,
square release L2… WARNING!!! The way to unlock Sub-Zero during adventure only
unlocks him in versus mode. To unlock him in KO-OP and single player during
adventure, beat the game with Kung Lao.
Fatality: Head Decapitation
Chains: right, right, right, right, square
=====Kitana=====
Fatality: Head Chop
Chains: left, left, right, right, square
Fatality: Kiss Of Death
Chains: right, right, right, right, square
====Secret Boss Battles====
=====Ermac=====
Fist of Ruin, Swing abilities required. In the Wu Shi Academy, go to the first
area In the academy. There will be a big red bridge, near it there is a split
path. Go to the right one where the spikes are. Break the evil statue and go on
your way. There will be a new area. Go to that area. There will be a closed
door. Use your swing ability to swing over the poles to the top of the hill.
There will be a statue. Interact it, and the Warrior Shrine will be revealed
(Which is one of Smoke's Missions). Go to the shrine and interact Ermac's
statue 3 times (the one in the left). Ermac will then fight you.
=====Mileena=====
Swing ability required. In first area of Living Forest. Swing on the two BIG
branches towards a ladder. Climb the ladder. There will be a new area. Go to
it. Continue the path until you reach a purple portal. There, Mileena and two
Mask Guards will appear and enrage in Kombat. When you perform your fatality,
Kitana appears, but kidnapped by Mileena.
=====Kano=====
Right before facing the 3 last bosses (Shang Tsung, Kintaro and Shao Kahn) in
the right. There will be a cell, Kitana is there. Interact her 3 or 4 times.
Guards should appear. Kill them and enter the door they came from. There, you
will see Jax Briggs freeing Sonya Blade and accidently freeing Kano with her.
You will then face alongside Jax against Kano. When you win, Jax will leave you
an item which will be necessary in defeating Shao Kahn.
====Smoke Missions====
The Smoke Missions are hidden missions that once completed unlock
an arcade perfect port of Mortal Kombat II. Listed below are the 5
missions and the parameters that need to be met in order to complete
them. In order to start these missions, you need to find Smoke first
in the Living Forest. He is located in the area with the waterfalls.
When you come across the second set of Clay Soldiers, throw one of them
into the rock that is blocking a doorway. Head inside to find Smoke.
Talk to him each time you complete a mission until they are all done.
--> Mission 1: Break the walls in the Soul Tombs.
You have to break the walls in the Soul Tombs for this mission.
So head to the Soul Tombs and go through the green room. In the first
room of this portion of the level, throw the Tarkatas through the
breakable wall toward the back of the room. You’ll also be rewarded
with a Fatality and 500 EXP.
--> Mission 2: Find the shrine.
You have to “find the shrine” in this mission. When you first
entered the Wu Shi Academy you came to a fork. We ended up taking the
right fork. It is now time to take the left one. Long Jump over the
spike pit and knock down the statue with the Fist of Ruin. Walk up to
the wooden double doors and you’ll be rewarded with 700 EXP.
--> Mission 3: Perform 3 sacrifices in the torture room.
In order to perform these three sacrifices, head to the Soul Tombs
once again. As you enter a cut-scene will play out showing you where
you need to go. It turns out that a new door with a skull over it has
opened up. In this room is a pit and 3 different portions of the wall
with spikes on them. You need to throw three enemies onto these spikes
in order to pass the mission. You’ll be rewarded with 700 EXP.
--> Mission 4: Throw an enemy into the purple portals in the Portal
area.
Head to the Portal (the main hub of the game). If you remember,
there are two small purple portals scattered about. On the uppermost
portion of the Portal area (across the gap) is a small portal straight
ahead. Throw one of the Shadow Priests into it or one of the other
guards around. The second portal can be found on the lowermost portion
of this area. Go to this area and locate the portal; it is back and to
the right. Throw one of the Shadow Priests or the Demon Captain into
it to complete the mission. You’ll be rewarded 700 EXP for completing
the mission.
--> Mission 5: Survive in the frozen wasteland.
Go through the portal that opens up to the right of Smoke. You
find yourself in the Pit II from Mortal Kombat II! Enemy upon enemy
will continue to attack you. Kill all of them (throwing some off the
bridge helps tremendously) and return to Smoke; you’ll be rewarded with
700 EXP once again. For completing Smoke’s missions, you unlocked
Mortal Kombat II! Congratulations! You will also unlock one of the BEST
rewards other than MKII. You will unlock 50,000 EXP!!!!
