Part One: *Things To Know*
=============================================================================
[Battle Gauge]
In this game, your team (or just you) wins a battle by lowering the enemy's
"Battle Gauge" to zero. Likewise, if they get your battle gauge to zero you
loose.
========
[Star Level]
To give less powerful Mobile Suits a fair chance, in this game each model
of Mobile Suite is given a "Star Level" according to how powerful it is
over all. The higher a Mobile Suit's star level, the more it's battle gauge
is lowered when it is destroyed.
For example, a "Ball" would have to be destroyed about SIX times for it's
side's battle gauge to reach zero.
Meanwhile, a "Gelgoog" only needs to be destroyed twice for it's side to
loose.
When your suit is destroyed, as long as your side's battle gauge is still
above zero you will launch in a new mobile suit.
========
[You can't hit a..... Mobile Suit when it's down]
When a Mobile Suit takes enough damage it will fall down (or roll in space),
while it's down your target on it will turn yellow. While the target's
yellow you can't damage that Mobile Suit. However, you can time a shot
(or other attack) to hit the Suit as soon as your target turns back to red.
Doing so takes practice, but it's worth it.
========
[Multiple Melee Combos: If you knock an enemy off of land and into water with
melee/close range attack and continue trying to attack them with another
melee attack as they sink, some times you can get them with a second combo
before the target on them becomes yellow. This can "sometimes" work in space
and in the air too, but not often.
========
[Hey! Where's my G-Fighter?/Unlocking Mobile Armors]
The Mobile Armors in this game have to be defeated by your own suit in arcade
mode to be playable, and even then THEY'RE ARE ONLY PLAYABLE IN VERSUS MODE.
========
[Not in that Mobile Suit!/Limitations of some Mobile Suits and Armors]
Some Mobile Suits and Armors can only be used in certain environments such
as "Space", "Land" and "Water", "None" means that the Suit/armor has no
limitations.
========
[What's good for the Gundam is good for them all!]
When I mention an attack doing an amount of AP damage, I'm talking about
the "Armor Points"(Life/energy/HP/You-know) that the attack takes away from
the RX-78-2 Gundam. A Mobile Suit is
destroyed when it's AP is reduced to zero.
========
[Unlocking the enemy's suits: If you finish/beat the arcade mode with the
Federation, then you'll be able to use Zeon suits while playing as the
Federation in arcade and versus modes. Finish the arcade mode as the Zeon
to use Federation suits on there side too.
MAKE SURE TO SAVE YOUR GAME IN "GAME OPTIONS"!!!
========
[....I 'Said' shoot him!/No Phycommu for you/Basic Controls]
Directional Pad or Left Analog Stick: Moves you around, press the same
direction twice quickly to do a "Dash".
X button: Jump with your boosters! And keep boosting to go higher. Watch the
blue meter in bottom middle of the screen to conserve your boost power.
You can combine jumping and Dashing and "Dash Through the Air" by dashing
while in the air after jumping.
_
|_| (Square) button: Fire your main weapon.
/_\(Triangle) button: Use you close range weapon.
O(circle) button: Press this to change your target to a different enemy.
It might not always be the enemy you where thinking of though.
R1: Use/fire your "Special Weapon".
R2: Jump AND attack with your close range weapon.
L1: Change the orders(fighting style) of you Computer controlled allies.
L2: Jump AND fire you main weapon.
========
[Because I live in North America/They're speaking English too!]
When I list an episode where a Mobile suit first appeared in the original
"Mobile Suit Gundam" series, the number of the episode and the title
will be from the North American DVD release. Why? Because that's
where I live, and I'm writing this guide for/based on the NA-PS2 version
of this game.
When I refer to some Mobile Suits as if they where a "Proper Noun", it's
not because I have bad grammar, it's because that's how the characters in
the original "Mobile Suit Gundam" series referred to them.
=============================================================================
Part Two: Federation Mobile Suits
=============================================================================
RX-78-2 Gundam|Star Level-2+1/2|Limitations: None|AP-520
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Main Weapons/Options: Beam Rifle, Hyper Bazooka, Hyper Hammer
Beam Rifle: Gundam's beam rifle can deal a lot of damage, to be specific
it can do about 120AP worth of damage to another Gundam. That's pretty
good!
====
Hyper Bazooka: It equals the beam rifle's power doing 120HP of damage and
can penetrate the "Big Zam's" barrier, which the beam rifle cannot.
====
Hyper Hammer: The Hyper Hammer is incredibly powerful and can do
250AP of damage in one blow. That's enough to destroy many Suits in just
two hits. It does have a MUCH shorter range than Gundam's other weapons and
missing your target leaves you vulnerable because Gundam stops moving as it
swings the Hyper Hammer.
Hyper Hammer-Spinning Shield: By pressing and holding down the L2 button you
can Spin Gundam's Hyper Hammer in front of Gundam and deflect both beam shots
and Solid shots! It will also damage another Mobile Suit if it happens to be
too close to Gundam's side as it spins the Hammer. Please do not over look
this ability of the Hyper Hammer, it is very useful.
========
[Melee/Close Range Weapons: Beam Saber(s) [3 Hit Combo][Spinning Air Cut]
Beam Saber: The Gundam's beam saber can be drawn and used VERY quickly and
deals about 100AP damage a cut. The real power comes from doing a 3
cut combo. It's jump+Melee attack does about 150AP damage.
====
Double Beam Saber Combo: [Down-Down+R2](Keep pressing R2 to finish combo)
After both halves of Gundam's shield are destroyed, Gundam can draw it's
second beam saber for a special combo. The combo does about 300AP damage but
you have to be very close to an enemy to hit them with all of it. "Letting"
an enemy destroy your shield can be risky, so this attack mostly just a
novelty attack.
========
[Special Weapons/Attacks: 60mm Head Vulcans]
Head Vulcans: You have to be facing directly at an enemy to be able to
hit them with shots from your head vulcans. They're not very powerful but
are still useful for finishing off enemies with very low Armor points.
========
[Strength: It's "The Gundam"! It has high AP. It moves fast. It reacts fast.
All of it's weapon options are very powerful.
========
[Weakness: It's high "Star Level" means that loosing your/a Gundam will drop
your battle gauge A LOT. Using "The Gundam" means taking on the
responsibility of bringing out it's full potential and not letting it be
destroyed. Often, losing ONE Gundam and one other ally is enough to lose
the battle.
========
[Strategy: Left side First! Then Gundam's shield is on it's left arm, so try
to approach enemies with your left side facing them.
========
Make every shot count! Use the Gundams speed to stay "Ahead"(not in front of)
the enemies and wait until you know you've got a good shot with the beam
rifle or bazooka. Also, the Gundam is fully capable of closing the distance
very quickly and finishing off an enemy with a bean saber combo. Use that to
conserve ammo when you can.
========
They all fall down! Both the Hyper Hammer and Hyper Bazooka will knock down
(or back, in outer space) most Mobile Suits. While one enemy is down try to
immediately target another Suit and knock it down before the first gets back
up. This is hard sometimes, but it's the best way to fight multiple enemies
at once.
========
Use everything you've got. Don't forget to use the head vulcans, they can
often be enough to destroy a Suit that's trying to pull off a last brutal
attack. When using the Hyper Hammer, use it's "Spinning Shield" to block
shots until the enemy's close enough to move in and hit them with it.
========
[As An Enemy: When the Gundam appears in arcade mode, unless you think you
can finish/win the battle before it catches up to you(or your allies),
stop what you're doing and focus on destroying Gundam. Gundam is fast and
approaches fearlessly and will destroy you quickly if you turn your back to
it.
========
[Information: The legendary Mobile Suit Gundam! Designed by "Tem Ray" and
later piloted by his son "Amuro Ray", this Mobile Suit and it's New Type
Pilot turned the tide of war in favor of the Earth Federation.
The Gundam is the most advanced of the Federations prototype suits. It has a
self learning computer and uses the "Core Block System". The core block
system lets the Gundam's A Module (Torso), B Module (Waist and Legs) and
it's "Core Fighter" cockpit separate and re-combine. The A and B modules can
can be launched and combined with the core fighter forming Gundam in mid air
during battle. The Gundams core fighter, A and B sections can also be
combined with other "G-Modules" to form a variety of specialized mobile
armors including "G-Armor", "G-Bull", "G-Sky, "G-Sky-EZ" and "Gundam-Sky".
(NOTE: Gundam CANNOT be separated in this game.)
========
[First appearance: "Mobile Suit Gundam" Episode-1 (1979)"Gundam Rising"
Piloted by Amuro Ray. Except for parts of two episodes where it was piloted
by Sayla Mass.
========
[What they left behind: No Beam Javelin! In the original series Gundam's
right beam saber could expand into a Javelin with three spikes on the end.
While it could be used to stab or slash an enemy, Amuro usually used it to
"Spear" an enemy by throwing the Beam Javelin(just like a javelin) into them.
No beam Javelin in this game though, I guess picking it back up would have
been a pain any ways.
========
The shield is a shield! In the original series Amuro would drop the Gundam's
shield at his covnvenience, and also use it as a weapon and throw it at an
enemy. The shield must be VERY heavy because it caused great damage whenever
it landed on a Mobile Suit. Gundam has to hold on to it's shield at all times
in this game. At least until it's shot off by an enemy that is.
========
[Other: Gundam is great for one on one combat in versus mode.
But remember: When you beat your best friend with Gundam, She/He WILL say
"You only won because you used the Gundam!" Then if you beat them with other
Suits, it'll be even worse. Save Gundam for when you're in a bad loosing
streak and your friends are mocking you.
=============================================================================
RX-77 Guncannon|Star level-1+3/4|Limitations-None|AP-560
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Main Weapons/Options: Beam Rifle
The Guncannon's beam rifle equals the Gundam's in power and has
a 'slightly' longer range. It can do about 120AP damage a shot.
========
[Melee/Close Range Weapons: Kick [Two Hit Combo][Jump Kick]
Guncannon do a two kick combo at very close range. Each kick does about
70AP damage. By pressing 'Triangle or R2 while in air you can do jump kick
that does about 90AP damage.
========
[Special Weapons/Attacks: 240mm Cannons(2), Sweeping Kick
240mm Cannons:The Guncannon's name stake, it's Cannons on it's back can be
shot in an arch and go over some obstacles. They do about 100AP a shot and
knock down the enemy.
====
Sweeping Kick: Press the R2 button to make Guncannon drop and kick the legs
out from under a suit at close range. This attack does about 60AP damage.
Press R2 again (or Triangle) to do a second kick. The sweeping kick can also
be done by pressing 'Triangle' as you land from a jump.
========
[Strength: Both of Guncannon's weapons are very useful and powerful. It
also has high AP so that combined with it's two great range weapons makes the
Guncannon great in a fire fight.
========
[Weakness: Though it has great fire power, faster suits can still circle
behind it at closer ranges. Guncannon's close range attacks are little too
"close range" so other suits with longer melee reaches can often hit you
before you hit them, even if you attack first.
========
[Strategy: Use both the cannons and the beam rifle together while trying to
stay at a medium range from you enemies. Try to move so that all your enemies
are in front of you.
========
[As an enemy: Guncannon's fire power can be a big problem, especially while
you're trying to fight other suits. Try your best to dodge it's fire by
dashing back and forth. It can be hard to shoot down a Guncannon without
taking much damage because if it's above average AP. Try to move in close
so that you can circle around and shoot at it from the side or back.
Trying to out shoot the Guncannon head on will usually back fire.
========
[Information: Guncannon was designed as medium range support mobile suit
with an emphases on fire power and armor. The prototype Guncannon uses the
"core block system" and is made of an A and B section with a "Core Fighter"
as the cockpit inside just like the Gundam and prototype Guntank. The later
mass produced Guncannons had no core block system though.
[First appearance: "Mobile Suit Gundam"
=============================================================================
RX-77 Guntank|Star Level-1+1/2|Limitations-None|AP-640
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Main Weapons/Options: 120mm Cannons(2), Quadruple Missile Launchers(2)
120mm Cannons(2): The long ranged powerful cannons on Guntank's shoulders.
They can do about 150AP of damage from very safe distance.
========
Quadruple Missile Launchers(2):[FIRED WITH "TRIANGLE" BUTTON]
AKA- "The guns on Guntank's hands". What they fire has always looked more
like "Machine Guns Bullets" to me, both in this game and the original Gundam
series. These weapons deal about 50AP of damage a burst. By burst I mean the
amount of bullets that will come out in one pressing and holding.
========
[Melee/Close Range Weapons:N/A, but this is a tricky one because the
Guntank's "Quadruple Missile Launchers" are fired with the 'Triangle' button
which is normally used for a Suits close range weapon. Though I guess the
"Quadruple Missile Launchers" do work better at close range.
========
[Special Weapons/Attacks:N/A, but the R1 button can be used to fire the
120mm Cannons as well as the "Square" button.
========
[Strength: It has very high AP and can attack from a long range and shoot
over many obstacles. It's actually MUCH easier to hit an enemy with the 120mm
Cannons than you might think. Guntanks are very good Suits as long as you
remember their names, "Gun-Tank", and try to not to get too close to enemies.
========
[Weakness: It's not very fast. If you can't manage to knock back an enemy
with your cannons before your "Boost" runs out, then you're in trouble.
========
[Strategy: Your high AP might save you once or twice in a battle, but to stay
intact for long you'll have to master shooting the enemies with your Cannons
and destroying your enemies before they get to you.
=======
[As an enemy: Guntank is a tough enemy. Its' range is longer then yours
it's cannon rounds can be shot over things, so you might not be safe
when you think you are. Also it's cannon rounds will knock you down making it
easy for other enemies to get ready to attack you when you get up.
========
[Information: Guntank is a long range support Mobile Suit and was the first
prototype Suit made by the Federation. Originally the Guntank needed two
pilots. One in the "Head" and one in the "Core Fighter" that was it's
cockpit. The Core Fighter could be ejected out an flown after Guntank's
A Section(top half) was separated from it's B Section(bottom half), just as
with the Gundam. Later Guntank was modified to only need one pilot. The mass
produced Guntanks had no "Core Block System" and only needed one pilot.
[First appearance: "Mobile Suit Gundam"
=============================================================================
RGM-79 GM|Star Level-1|Limitations-None|AP-400
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Main Weapons/Options: Beam Spray Gun
The GM's small beam gun does about 90AP damage which is enough to get the job
done.
========
[Melee/Close Range Weapons: Beam Saber [2 Hit Combo][Downward Stab]
GM's beam saber does about 80AP damage with a normal cut. It does a "cut then
thrust" 2 hit combo. It's jump+melee attack is downward stab that does about
120AP damage.
========
[Special Weapons/Attacks: 60mm Head Vulcans
The head vulcans fire strait in the direction the GM is facing. They work the
same as the Gundam's.
========
[Strength: It low star level gives you the flexibility to take risks, since
losing your GM once usually won't put you in danger of losing the battle.
GM is a very good bargain for just one star. Some levels are easier in my
opinion with the GM than with more powerful suits, because of the
"Second Chances" it gives you.
========
[Weakness: It's an all around average suit, but that means it can have some
trouble going up against faster suits with stronger weapons. It's weapons
aren't strong enough to destroy other suits particularly fast, so it can be
in danger of multiple suits ganging up on it.
========
[Strategy: Like the Gundam, the GM wears it's shield on it's left side, so
keep the left side facing enemies your fighting. You have to wear your
enemies down with a GM.
========
[As an enemy: The GM is only a threat if you ignore it. In most suits it wont
take very long to get rid of a GM. If you're fighting a stronger enemy just
don't let any GMs get behind you.
========
[Information: GM is the Federations first mass produced Mobile Suit. It can
fight on land and in space. The GM's low production cost allowed the
Federation to gain strength in numbers.
========
[First appearance: "Mobile Suit Gundam" Episode-28 "Tragedy in Jaburo".
=============================================================================
RB-79-Ball|Star Level-3/5|Limitations-Space Only|AP-250
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Main Weapons/Options: Mini Cannon
The Mini Cannon does about 80AP of damage.
========
[Melee/Close Range Weapons: Arms(Manipulators)
The Ball can hit an enemy with it's arms and knock them over. This does about
90AP of damage.
========
[Special Weapons/Attacks:N/A, R1 fires the Mini Cannon
========
[Strength: It has the lowest Star Points of anything so it can get blown up
many times before it's over.
========
[Weakness: It has the lowest AP and can be destroyed very easily. It is not
very fast.
========
[Strategy: Try to be sneaky and do as much damage with each ball before you
lose it. If you're playing one on one against a friend this might not work
well.
========
[As an enemy: The Ball is obnoxious. You can destroy it pretty fast but it
can easily damage you before you do. The damage from multiple Balls adds up
and since destroying one will barely drop the enemy's battle gauge they can
be very annoying.
========
[Information: The Ball was originally designed and used for construction and
other civilian activities. Only after the "One Year War" had began were the
Balls adapted into weapons.
=============================================================================
RX-79-Gundam(G)|Star Level-1+1/2|Limitations-Land Only|AP-480
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Main Weapons/Options: Beam Rifle, Machine Gun, Rocket Launcher,
180mm Cannon, Missile Launcher]
========
Beam Rifle: Same range and power as the RX-78-2's beam rifle. It does about
120AP damage a shot.
========
Machine Gun: It rapidly fires a burst of bullets. One burst does about 90AP
of damage.[PRESS L2 TO RE-LOAD THE MACHINE GUN AT ANY TIME]
========
Rocket Launcher: This does 140AP damage! The "Ground Gundam" does stop
moving as it fires this weapon though. Also, the Shield will be over the
back while this weapon is being used.
========
180mm Cannon: Does about 120AP damage and knocks the enemy suit down. The
round also fires in a slight arch which can make it hard for the enemy to
see from a distance. If they don't notice you shot they might not try to
dodge.
========
Missile Launcher: It fires missiles, 2 at a time and up to 6 consecutively if
you keep firing. Each missile does about 120AP of damage. They fallow their
target slightly, not so well that they can't be dodged, but enough to keep
up with small movements.
WARNING: It is possible for an enemy to shoot and destroy your missiles.
========
[Melee/Close Range Weapons: Beam Saber[2 Hit Combo][Upwards Cut]
This Gundam's beam saber does about 80AP of damage a hit and can do a two cut
combo. By pressing R2 you can do quick spin ending with a upwards cut that
does about 100AP damage.
[Special Weapons/Attacks: Chest Vulcan Gun
The Ground Gundam has a vulcan gun in it's chest that fires a burst of
bullets. You have to be facing an enemy and be pretty close to hit them with
it. One burst does about 15AP damage.
========
[Strength: It has a good variety of weapons to choose from and is tough
enough to go up against most other suits without a big risk.
========
[Weakness: Don't get carried away because the "Ground Gundam" is not as
powerful or fast as the RX-78-2 Gundam.
========
[Strategy: If you're using the beam rifle, 120mm cannon, rocket launcher or
machine gun, try to fight from a medium-close range from an enemy and try to
circle behind them. The Ground Gundam can draw it's beam saber pretty fast
so do so when ever you get to close to an enemy and attack them.
====
With the missile launcher, it will work well from a further and higher
distance. It's a little cheap but launching missiles from a high place works
very well in missions and keeps you safe. When you can't get a far and high
place, circling around the enemy from a medium-close distance will still
work, but is not as safe. Don't fire too many missiles at once because
usually only the first two can damage an enemy before the target becomes
yellow.
========
[As an enemy: It's harder to destroy than a GM and it's weapons can do more
damage, but it's still not too deadly to fight with most suits. A Ground
Gundam with the missile launcher can be vary annoying and dangerous though
because it will likely stay at a far a barrage you with missiles as you're
busy with other enemies.
========
[Information: RX-79-Gundam(G) is a mass produced mobile suit designed for
land combat. Though it has higher performance than GMs, it is still not as
advanced as the RX-78-2 Gundam.
========
[First appearance: The Anime' series "Mobile Suit Gundam: The 8TH MS Team"
(1995, Sotsu Agency/Sunrise)
=============================================================================
RGM-79(G)|Star Level-3/4|Limitations-Land Only|AP-420
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Main Weapons/Options: Machine Gun, Beam Rifle
Beam Rifle: The GM Ground's beam rifle is not as powerful as those of other
mobile suits. It does about 90AP damage and has shorter range than the
Gundam's beam rifle.
====
Machine Gun: The machine gun fires a burst of bullets which combined do
about 70AP damage.
========
[Melee/Close Range Weapons: Beam Saber [2 Hit Combo][Punch+Cut Combo]
The GM Ground's beam saber does about 75AP damage cut and can do a cut +
down ward stab combo.
By pressing R2 it can do a punch + cut combo that does about 120AP damage,
but you have to be very close for the punch to connect.
========
[Special Weapons/Attacks: Reload [Press R2]
The GM Ground can re-load it's machine gun at any time if you press R2.
========
[Strength: Like the other GM, the GM Ground is a bargain for it's low star
level. It has enough power and speed to combat enemies effectively and
slipping up and getting destroyed won't lower your battle gauge very much.
========
[Weakness: Faster suits with more powerful weapons can destroy the GM Ground
pretty quickly in a head on competition.
========
[Strategy: Whether you're using the bean rifle or machine gun, you still
won't have enough attack power to quickly destroy most enemy suits. So you
have to wear you enemies down. Losing your GM Ground once won't put you in
much danger of losing the battle, but if you are careless against stronger
suits they will likely destroy you every time.
========
[As an enemy: As with the other GM, these ones aren't really a threat as long
as you don't ignore them or let them gang up on you. Most suits can get rid
of a GM Ground pretty easily.
========
[Information: It's a GM built and reinforced for land combat. While it has
improved armor it can only function on land.
=============================================================================
Part Three: The Federation Mobile Armors
=============================================================================
MOBILE ARMORS CAN ONLY BE USED IN VERSUS MODE
=============================================================================
Unlocking the Mobile Armors: To be able to use the Federation Mobile Armors
in Versus Mode, you have to destroy them with your own suit during a mission
in arcade mode, while playing as the Zeon. They only appear on certain
missions depending on which mission you chose to start the arcade mode game
on. Where/how to find each Federation armor is in included in each one's
section below. MAKE SURE TO SAVE YOUR GAME IN "GAME OPTIONS"!!!
(NOTE: You can find the Mobile Armors in other battles other than the ones I
list. I listed the ones where I most often find them.)
=============================================================================
G-Fighter|Star Level-(about)1|Limitations-None(but won't enter water)|AP-300
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlocking G-Fighter: Start arcade mode and play as the Zeon side. Choose a
fast suit for 'Land' like Gelgoog then start on the "Inside Side Seven"
mission, You'll fight G-Fighter in the "Forest in E. Europe" mission.
Go after it right away, just fallow it around and boost up and shoot it from
behind while it's flying strait. The Guntanks can be a problem but if you
destroy them more Guntanks and eventually Gundam will show up. So take out
the G-Fighter before anything else. MAKE SURE TO SAVE YOUR GAME IN
"GAME OPTIONS"!!!
========
[Special Controls: The G-Fighter constantly moves forward. On the directional
pad or the left analog stick you must press "UP" to point G-Fighter down to
fly lower and press "DOWN" to point G-Fighter up to fly higher. G-Fighter
slowly descends when flying strait.
Pressing 'X'(Boost) will increase it's speed.
====
You can land G-Fighter on the ground by pressing R2. Pressing R2 will
also fire missiles though, so be careful.
====
Press two directions a once like "Up+Left" to turn more quickly. This works
better in "Earth Atmosphere" than in space though.
========
[Riding G-Fighter: When your playing versus with a friend and you're both
on the same side, if you press R2 to land G-Fighter, your friend can hop
onto G-fighter and ride it as you fly around! Flying out of the area borders
will push your friend off you though.
========
[Main Weapons/Options: Twin Beam Cannons
The G-Fighter has to pointing/facing strait at an enemy to be able fire the
beam cannons at it and will NOT automatically turn to face them at lock on.
This makes using G-Fighter more difficult than a mobile suit. The beam
cannons do about 120AP damage.
========
[Melee/Close Range Weapons:N/A The triangle button fires the G-Fighter's
missiles.
========
[Special Weapons/Attacks: Missiles [Fire With Triangle Button]
G-Fighter's Missiles fire in sets of 2 and the 2 combined do about 70AP
damage. You still have to be facing the enemy for the missiles to hit them,
but the missiles are easier to use then the beam cannons.
========
[Strength: G-Fighters speed and maneuverability can make it hard to shoot.
========
[Weakness: It's very hard to aim G-Fighter at an enemy so you can attack it.
When you are facing an enemy and can attack it, you are also vulnerable to
shots from them.
========
[Strategy: You can try to line up with an enemy, shoot at them and
then turn/move so they can't shoot you back. Or you can fly in close and low
and keep trying to circle behind them to shoot them. All of this harder
against faster enemies. Be sure to press two directions at once to turn
faster.
=======
[As an enemy: I've rarely been shot by G-Fighter in arcade mode. In versus
mode don't let G-Fighter get behind you and move around enough that it has
a hard time lining up with you. Try to shoot it when it's moving strait.
========
[Information: In addition to being a advanced air and space weapon, G-Fighter
was designed as a pair of support "Modules" for the RX-78-2 Gundam.
G-Fighter's front (A-Module) and back (B-Module) parts can separate and
re-combine with Gundam's front and back sections and/or core fighter in
different combinations to form different specialized mobile armors such as
"G-Armor", "G-Bull", "G-Sky, "G-Sky-EZ" and "Gundam-Sky".
(NOTE: G-Fighter CANNOT be separated in this game.)

[What they left behind: "This is no transformer boy! No transformer!"
While in versus mode you and a friend can play "Sayla and Amuro" if you
want and have the Gundam ride on the G-Fighter back, but unfortunately there
is no option to combine the two into "G-Armor". G-Armor is made with the
G-Fighter's front and back sections attached over the Gundam's front (head)
and back (legs) and serves to transport Gundam. Gundam can still fire it's
beam rifle while combined. It's too bad this wasn't included in this game.

G-Bull|Star Level-(about)1+1/2|Limitations-None|AP-640
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Unlocking G-Bull: Start arcade mode and play as the Zeon side, and select a
faster space mobile suit like "Zeong" or "Gelgoog" then start on the
"Taklamakan Desert" mission. G-bull will appear during the "Satellite Orbit
2" Mission. Go right after G-Bull and try to ether fallow behind it or block
it's path. If you're using Zeon then use Zeong's special attack(R1) to send
or it's wire guided hands to shoot at G-Bull from it's side while you shoot
strait at it with your remaining hand or the "Head Shot"(Triangle). If you're
not in Zeong then just try to fire at it from behind when it's moving strait.
It can be hard to shoot down if you're not in a fast suit.
MAKE SURE TO SAVE YOUR GAME IN "GAME OPTIONS"!!!
========
[Main Weapons/Options: Twin Beam Cannons
The G-Bull uses the same pair of beam cannons that the G-Fighter does. A shot
from the beam cannons does about 120AP damage. The beam cannons can lock on
from a further distance than a beam rifle. Don't worry that it's ammo says
"2", because it reloads fast enough to keep up with the weapons on other
suits and armors.
========
[Melee/Close Range Weapons:N/A
[Special Weapons/Attacks:N/A
========
[Strength: G-Bull has high AP and a shield on each side to protect it.
G-Bull's beam cannons do as much damage as the beam rifle used by Gundam.
Compared to other mobile armors G-Bull is easy to control and will turn to
aim at an enemy when you lock onto it and shoot at it.
========
[Weakness: The G-Bull has NO close range weapons and only average speed. If
an enemy gets to close to you and starts a Melee attack you might not be able
to get away.
========
[Strategy: Don't get to close to the enemies and just keep at them with the
beam cannons. As a last resort when you can't dodge a melee attack or
incoming shot, turn so that one of your shields will take the attack.
========
[As an enemy: The G-Bull is not much of a problem as an enemy. Shooting it
down may be a little difficult in some suits but it never seems to be
aggressive enough to pose a threat.
[Information: The G-Bull is the "G-Fighter's" front end(A Module) combined
with the Gundam's front section(A Module). The shields are the same as the
Gundam's and the Gundam takes the left one with when they separate.

G-Sky|Star Level-(about)1|Limitations-None(but won't enter water)|AP-300
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Unlocking G-Sky: Start arcade mode and play as the Zeon side, and select a
faster space mobile suit like "Zeong" or "Gelgoog" then start on the
"Out Side Jaboro" mission. G-bull will appear during the "Satellite Orbit 2"
Mission. Go right after G-Sky and try to ether fallow behind it or block
it's path. If you're using Zeon then use Zeong's special attack(R1) to send
or it's wire guided hands to shoot at G-Sky from it's side while you shoot
strait at it with your remaining hand or the "Head Shot"(Triangle). If you're
not in Zeong then just try to fire at it from behind when it's moving strait.
It can be hard to shoot down if you're not in a fast suit.
MAKE SURE TO SAVE YOUR GAME IN "GAME OPTIONS"!!!
========
[Special Controls: The G-Sky constantly moves forward. On the directional
pad or the left analog stick you must press "UP" to point G-Sky down to
fly lower and press "DOWN" to point G-Fighter up to fly higher.
G-Sky slowly descends when flying strait.
Pressing 'X'(Boost) will increase it's speed.
====
You can land G-Sky on the ground by pressing R2. Pressing R2 will
also fire missiles though, so be careful.
====
Press two directions a once like "Up+Left" to turn more quickly. This works
better in "Earth Atmosphere" than in space though.
========
[Riding G-Sky: When your playing versus with a friend and you're both
on the same side, if you press R2 to land G-Sky, your friend can hop
onto G-Sky and ride it as you fly around! Flying out of the area borders will
push your friend off you though.
========
[Main Weapons/Options: Vulcan Machine Guns
The vulcan guns on G-Sky are more powerful than the ones on mobile suits
and do about 30AP damage a burst. By burst I mean the amount of bullets that
can be fired at one time.
========
[Melee/Close Range Weapons:N/A 'Triangle' button fires missiles.
========
[Special Weapons/Attacks: Missiles [FIRE WITH TRIANGLE BUTTON]
G-Sky's missiles fire in a set of two and together do about 70AP damage.
========
[Strength: G-Sky is very fast and maneuverable so you can dodge most attacks.
========
[Weakness: It has to be facing directly at an enemy to hit it and it's fire
power is not too high, so it can take a while to destroy a enemy suit.
Also G-Sky is more vulnerable to attacks when it is lined up with an enemy,
so attacking is always a risk unless you can get behind an enemy.
========
[Strategy: Change your direction often so it's hard for enemies to shoot you.
Try to circle behind your enemy and line up quickly, fire your missiles and
then change direction to avoid shots from the enemy. Basically "hit and run"
is the only way to win.
========
[As an enemy: G-Sky can be hard to shoot down in arcade mode, but as long as
you don't stand still for too long it probably won't be able to hit you.
However if your friend is using it in versus mode, unless you are using one
of the faster suits, G-Sky will probably be a very frustrating opponent.
========
[Information: G-Sky is formed by combining the back section of G-Fighter
(B-Module) with the lower half of Gundam (B-Module) and the "Core Fighter".

Part Four: Other Information
========
[What about the Zeon suits and armors?: My computer is old and I can't make
a guide that big in "notepad", so I'm making a separate guide for the other
half of the suits and armors. It'll be done soon.
(really, I mean REALLY SOON.)
====
[What about "Campaign Mode": In Campaign Mode you'll use many of the same
types of suits with different Star Levels and specific weapons. The higher
the Star Level, the higher the over all power of the suit compared to the
same model with a lower star level. The information and strategies in this
guide hold true in Campaign Mode, but you also need to take each suit's
individual star level into account.
