I. Some things you need to know (SPOILERS)
****************************************************
This is a strategy game like the Super Robot Taisen and SD Gundam series, but
seems to be entirely based on the latter. I played SD Gundam G Generation SEED a
lot and became familiar to this kind of games thanks to it, so I must say that
it is much better than Destiny. If you liked Destiny, you'll obviously enjoy
Generation SEED.
I began this FAQ after completing the game once. I just started a new game and
began writing the information while playing, therefore meaning that my team's
condition greatly improves through the missions. There might be differences
between what I say and what you can play, it this is the case then just
improvise.
The "winning or losing conditions" do not require you to complete all of them to
either win or lose. Only the first achieved will trigger the end of the game.
I will use the normal pattern for indicating directions :

Mobile Suits tend to look to the north-east which would normally be "forward" to
them, however I will keep our point of view and use North to indicate the
squares that are precisely above the MS.

|How to win : don't forget that you can use the Archangel for this mission. The
|Entry panel not only lets you add MS to your team, but unused ships can join
|too. You only have to take down a bunch of Moebius, which is easy because of
|their low HP. Concentrate your troops around HOME (Professor's ship) and use
|Support Attacks to end it quickly.

|How to win : the best way to end this is to destroy the ZAFT units. Only the
|Gundam will be hard to take down, as soon as you take care of them you won't
|have any difficulty surviving until the end of the 7th turn (at worst).

|How to win : immediately move your team to the south-west in order to protect
|the red squares, then defend. For a little more fun, leave your weakest units
|in defense and prepare an away team that will welcome the Moebiuses long before
|they get near their goal. Enjoy !

|How to win : desert, my dear desert... I believe one would want to avoid it as
|much as possible. I suggest you use the Launcher Strike as you'll have to use
|many support attacks. Also make sure its attack power AND energy are improved.
|Here you'll have to destroy Da Costa's ship while protecting your motionless
|Archangel and taking good care of the Strike. Well, Archangel's HP lower each
|turn but it will never turn out to be a problem. Just make sure it does not
|get shot by MS. The Lesseps will come at you and you may reach it after a few
|turns, just shoot it down.

|How to win : send most of your units to the east, while leaving the M1 girls on
|the west to counter the first ware of Strike Daggers. When the Astray guy drops
|in, let him come to you. Be careful to the flying units, they're the most
|capable of reaching the red squares.

|How to win : finally, the Gold Frame makes its appearance. Start by destroying
|it while getting Blue Frame out of the water, towards the center of the map
|(which you must protect). Always have one unit in each corner since you will be
|attacked from everywhere. Do not bother about the enemy ship, you'll destroy
|it last. Defend against everything that comes to you (there are 6 units that
|spawn after a few turns), and make sure Red and Blue Frame don't get too much
|damage.

|- Winning conditions :

|How to win : truly, this is one of the easiest missions in the game. If you
|checked this FAQ for help with this one you'll think I'm crazy, but there is a
|way to win very easily. You've got three free Entry slots, use one for the
|Strike (you'll have to equip the Launcher pack) and use the other two for the
|Archangel. Make sure the Strike has maxed energy and attack power, and that the
|Archangel has a good attack power too. Begin the mission by moving your
|ship to the blue glowing spot to the North. Move your four MS around the
|Archangel, in order to be able to use the ships' special function that heals
|both HP and Energy to all your MS. Here is the formation you should use :

|Keep this position until the end. Just wait for the enemies to come, they
|should be targetting the Archangel (which self-heals each turn) thus making it
|gain BP. You might be able to use the Lohengrin quite often, use many Support
|Attacks thanks to the Launcher Strike's ideal position, and keep healing
|everyone. At worst, make your heavily damaged units board the Archangel so you
|won't lose them. What was so hard about this ?
|Now that you've won the GF Amatu, do not upgrade it. You'll get a better one
|later, and as you won't be able to use both at the same time you'd better
|upgrade only the second one.

|- Winning conditions :
|(1) Murrue Ramius, Andrew Waltfeld and Ledonir Kisaka all reach a blue square
|(2) Destroy everything
|- Losing conditions :
|(1) Murrue Ramius is destroyed
|(2) Andrew Waltfeld is destroyed
|(3) Ledonir Kisaka is destroyed
|
|How to win : you've got two options here. You can flee to the north-east and
|reach the squares as soon as you can, else you can stay and fight to the death.
|Fighting would be the usual battle with support attacks and damage retreats, so
|it would be funnier (and faster) to choose the escape route. First, wait for
|all your ships to be close together then make them all advance. Send a strong
|away team to clear the way ahead, then make sure to open a breach in the enemy
|defense near the blue squares. Force your way through the defense (kinda
|remind me of the series :D) and you're done.
|Note : you can try to avoid the Vesalius but it's quite risky. I suggest you
|concentrate all your fire on it, then fall back to reopen the way for the
|three ships.

|How to win : move and destroy. Make all your units board your ship (choose the
|Archangel at the Entry screen. Set its speed to 9) and move it as fast as
|possible to the Gold Frame Amatu. If you did well, ZAFT should not be there.
|Attack GF with all you have without using the Red Frame which would not survive
|GF's attacks. The Launcher Strike + Meteor Freedom + Meteor Justice would be
|welcome.

|Meteor Freedom. Well, as you can only choose two units you'd better pick those
|ones. Maintain a close formation around the Re-HOME and defend until there is
|no enemy left. Beware of the Hyperion, it's very nasty.

|How to win : spend your TPs in Athrun's moving span so that he can reach his
|goal as fast as possible, even if ZAFT blocks his way. During that time, have
|all your forces fight ZAFT along the middle of the northern border. As soon as
|Athrun reaches Genesis, he and Cagalli's Strike Rouge disappear and the
|Forbidden Gundam spawns behind the ZAFT forces.

|How to win : this is kinda wierd. You need to make the Out Frame stop once on
|every glowing light, before the time is up. But I don't know which time they
|talk about, the first time I did this mission I spent a lot of turns trying to
|understand what was the objective and when I finally figured out the glowing
|lights thing, I managed to get them all in time. Well, to make it fast use the
|Archangel to move Out Frame from one stop to the other. Do not care about the
|Alliance trying to stop you, just do your job.

|How to win : focus all your units on one Gundam (e.g. Chaos), then destroy it
|in the second turn. All three Gundam will disappear, and a few hostile MS will
|spawn. Just destroy them all, they're no threat. Check Athrun's life from time
|to time, his Zaku is quite fragile. |Don't forget to use as many Support
|Attacks as possible (if you do not know what |this is, check the "V. A few
|tips" section).

|check its weapons and the range they cover.

|How to win : now, that's a tough one. You cannot move your Minerva, you only
|have Rey to defend it against several waves of bad guys, and Shinn & Lunamaria
|are in trouble on the other sideof the map. But don't worry, once you know the
|trick it becomes... less of a nightmare. First of all, you need to take down
|Gaia : move Shinn to the glowing blue square and use the Support Attack with
|Lunamaria, then attack with her. If you are very lucky, Gaia is destroyed in
|this turn. If not then keep using Support Attacks to destroy the three Gundam
|without losing either of your MS. Keep in mind that Energy goes down very
|quickly and always put a MS into a glowing square. On the other side : first
|turn, move Rey as high as you can to the north-east. He will not be able to
|attack the MS, but don't worry. Destroy as many MS as you can on both sides
|(GaiaXChaosXAbyss on the west, grunts then Neo on the east) without using your
|special attacks,except on Neo and the Girty Lue. This ship will eventually
|arrive, always keep Rey away from its cannon range. Move Rey back aboard the
|Minverva for resuply if needed. If you played well (and were lucky) then Rey
|should destroy the Girty Lue by himself. If not, move Shinn as fast as
|possible to the Mineva side and make him attack too. Sorry, luck has a huge
|part in this mission.

|How to win : Zaku are slow in water, make them board the Minerva and disembark
|them only when needed. You need to make the Minerva advance as much as possible
|each turn, if a unit is blocking its way then concentrate all your fire on it.
|Do not make the Minerva shoot, except if it can't move at all this turn.
|If you were as lucky as me to win the Girty Lue in Destiny 2 or 3, use it to
|carry some units and attack too.

|How to win : that mission sure is original. You do not need to destroy fleets
|of MS, nor making your way through a dozen of overpowered Gundam. You have to
|lure ALL the enemies behind the blue squares. To do this, use Athrun's MA mode
|and go insult them. Hopefully they will get angry and come after you. You might
|need several units to pull all sides. As soon as every enemy unit on the map
|has made one move, pull back all your units to the southern edge of the map.

|How to win : another sea battle. Move your units on the right bank, where
|GaiaXChaosXAbyss and a few grunts will spawn. Fight them without getting
|engaged with the Murasame and Astray (if you do, just give them hell). The
|Archangel Team will spawn too and take care of a few Murasame. When both teams
|finish their work, move yours to make Kira and the Archangel understand who's
|the strongest here.

|north-western glowing square, then wait for the enemies to come. Repeat the
|same pattern as in the previous mission.

IV. EXTRA (DESTINY “IF”)

|- Winning conditions :
|(1) Either Freedom Gundam or Destroy Gundam are destroyed
|- Losing conditions :
|(1) Shinn Asuka is destroyed

|How to win : if this is the first time you play this mission, just wait until
|both Gundam destroy each other. Most of the time it is Freedom that wins, and
|it is very difficult to take down. If you try to get Kira with a weak Impulse
|you'll get destroyed first.
|If you've already finished the game (=> completed 4a, 4b, 4c or 4d) then you
|must be able to change the Stand By units in every mission. Replace this
|mission's Impulse by the Astray Red Frame (FU). Follow Freedom and Destroy
|without attacking them, and Wait until Freedom gets weakened. Make sure you
|have at least 50BP and that you're close enough to Freedom to use the Red
|Frame's MAP Weapon. I've never seen it fail. Freedom will get "Stuck" and not

|How to win : this one can be ended very quickly, as long as luck is with you.
|Make sure you have a Freedom Meteor with 9 speed and 10 Attack Power (if not,
|replay other missions in order to earn enough TP). Place it in the slot next
|to the brown-haired girl so it will spawn on the left side of the map. You also
|need to add a ship with good HP (e.g. Dominion) that will spawn on the same
|side. If it does not, try another slot. On the first turn, make the Meteor go
|as south-east as possible. Use your second ship to lure the fleet that
|advances towards you. On the second turn, make the Meteor go as south-west as
|possible. If the Chaos Gundam comes chasing after you, evade it by going
|north-west. If any of the original fleet attacks you then escape too. If you
|reached Djibril's ship without being chased after then you'll just need a few
|turns to destroy it, without anyone to bother you. You might even use
|reinforcements from your north-western team if they finished their job in
|time. Oh, also make sure no missile passes through your other team. And do not
|bother attacking the Archangel, you might lose several MS when it's not needed
|to destroy the Three Ships Alliance.

|The ship should not be destroyed, so don't worry about it. Be careful with
|Shinn though.

|How to win : this is quite unusual. For once, it is your turn to reach region
|of the map without having to rush. You can take all the time you want. However,
|if you want to finish it fast you can spend your TP in Minerva's moving range &
|HP and at the beginning of the mission, load every MS in the ship and move it
|towards the blue squares. Rey will spawn in the Destiny Gundam but who cares ?
|Unload all your MS near the exit and clean the way for the Minerva. Just be
|careful not to expose Shinn too much since Rey will enjoy destroying him in
|one shot.

V. A few tips
****************************************************
¤¤¤ Support Attack : this is a very easy way to gain a free attack. You need an
attacking unit, a target and a nearby unit of your team that is NOT on the
square next to your target. In fact, it must shoot from a green/blue distance.

A => your attacking unit
B => target
C => your support unit
With [A], select your attack and target [B]. You will see two options, the first
is to attack alone and the second lets you use your support unit. Do so, and
select its attack. [A] and [C] will attack [B], and [B] will only retaliate
against [A]. You do not need to worry about [C]'s health points. [A]'s turn will
be consumed, but [C]'s will not. You will be able to attack with this unit
again, making it three shots for two units. Now, imagine that [C] is your
attacking unit and [A] you want to use it too against [B]. You will not be able
to use [A] as a support unit since it is in one of the four squares around [B].
In short, all you need is a MS at any distance and another one in green or blue
distance. Not every MS can be used as a Support Unit : press Triangle on a MS
and look as the icon on the bottom left corner of its picture. Red (Close) means
that it will not support in any way, Green (Mid) means that it will support from
a mid distance but not a long distance, and Blue (Long) means that it will
support from everywhere (except Close, as I said). If a unit can be transformed,
look at both states' icon : for example, Athrun's Saviour as a Mobile Suit is
Green (Mid), whereas the Mobile Armor mode is Blue (Long). Always check this.
¤¤¤ Shoot through your own allies : sometimes, sacrifices must be made. Most of
the ships' cannons require you to shoot in line, and your own MS might be on the
line of fire. Then make it so ! Ships' cannons are very powerful and shall not
be ignored because of a single MS. If this MS is badly damaged then just
retrieve it abord your ship afterwards. Well, this should not be done when only
one enemy target is in line of fire. Three or more MS are very interesting
though.
¤¤¤ Don't swim, fly : some ground units are very slow in water, like the Zaku.
At the beginning of the missions they are not useful at all; just load them
aboard your ship and unload them when needed. At sea, a ship if much faster
than ground units : don't leave them behind by moving them normally square by
square.
¤¤¤ C.E. 73 Easy Mode : there is a way to play the Destiny missions without
ever losing your Minerva. Play Destiny 2 and Destiny 3 until you get the Girty
Lue, which you will be able to play in every mission as long as you have
someone to command it. I suggest you use Dearka. The good point about having an
unimportant ship is that you will be able to lure enemies with it, as they tend
to attack a ship instead of MS. Put it on the front line and every enemy unit
that can attack it will doubtlessly do so, even if there is a dying MS of yours
next to it. You can put your Minerva in the back and attack with your MS behind
the front line without having them destroyed.
¤¤¤ Getting new MS, ships and pilots for your collection : there are three ways
of doing this. The first is to clear the mission a first time, which will give
you access to several MS, modifications, and most of the time to the pilots of
the MS you just got. This is not random, and will always be the same the first
time you clear a mission. You can also retry the mission after clearing the
game once, you will get other material having a link with the mission. Last
means is luck : each time you destroy a MS or a ship, you may gain it (in which
case a window appears, with the picture of a disc) or gain BP, TP, HP or
Energy. Or you may not gain anything at all.
