I.  INTRO/VERSION HISTORY

I decided to do this FAQ due to the lack of FAQs covering this game, and as a
good will to fellow gamers.  This game is a very good RPG in my opinion. It's
like FFVII meets Lunar.  Anyways, there are random events that pop up on the
world map, and this FAQ was created to talk about those events.  Feel free to
e-mail me (e-mail address at bottom) about any events I’m missing or
corrections to be made.  I’ll credit you as well.

Version 0.90 - 11/18/2004: Started this FAQ.  I’m sure it’s not a complete
list, but it’s a good start.

II.  RANDOM EVENTS

There are three times in the game where random events will pop up on the world
map.  They’re symbolized by a bubble with a question mark in them, as opposed
to the usual bubble with an exclamation mark that symbolizes where you should
go next.  You can only do one random event each time they pop up.

FIRST TIME:

The first time the events appear is when you have to go to Minamo Village.  Here
is where they pop up, and a description of the event:

Ayame Village:

When you enter the village, head towards the woods.  You’ll find a scene with
Koga rescuing a man from a demon.  Inuyasha will arrive on the scene and
question his intentions.  Koga replies that he’s trying to find Kagome’s
handkerchief.  Inuyasha and Koga bicker some more, then they go off searching
for it.  Kagome pops on to the scene, yelling after them, but they run off
before they hear her.  She then says her handkerchief’s not missing, but
she just loaned it to Inuyasha.

REWARD: None

Tsuzumi Village:

When you enter the town, the gang will talk about how the festival’s starting.
Inuyasha doesn’t want to go at first, but eventually he decides to go.  When
you regain control, head east, then keep heading south to the drums.  A scene
will play where the festival can’t commence unless another team participates.
Inuyasha and gang agree to form a team and compete.  The Shikigami protagonist
chooses to stand aside and cheer for the team.  Tell Inuyasha to drum softer,
Kagome to put her back into it, Shippo to be more lively, Miroku to drum
harder, and Sango to move around, and you should win the competition.

REWARD: Lacquered Seed if you win, nothing if you lose.

Rindoh Village:

When you enter the town, Miroku will talk about how it’s a beautiful day, etc.
When you regain control, head north to find an old man who’s lost the will to
live because his wife and children left him.  Head south out of town, and
you’ll find a cave you can go into.  You’ll find a group of demons, and engage
them in a fight.  When you win, you get an easy 600+ exp points, and a scene
will commence where Miroku acts heroic, destroys the demons, rescues the women
and children, only to find out they’re all the old man’s wife and kids.

REWARD: 600+ exp points.

Mount Houoh:

When you enter, go along the path until you come to a screen you enter from
east and it splits three ways.  Take the north path to find an old man, who
ends up being the eldest member of the wolf-demon tribe, who’s health is
failing.  Koga then appears, and talks about a mushroom that’ll help him.
Climb to the top of the mountain, and go east on the plateau instead of north,
you’ll find Koga and the mushroom.  You’ll all go to the monk cabin where the
old man will rest, and Koga will talk with everyone.  Everyone but Koga
sleeps, and the Shikigami protagonist wakes up in the middle of the night.  He
goes outside to find the old man at the well.  They talk some more, then the
old man leaves.  Everyone wakes up in the morning, and Koga asks for the
whereabouts of the old man.  He thanks everyone, and runs off.

REWARD: None

Field of Ignorance:

When you enter, go south until you can’t, then west all the way, then north,
and west after that.  You’ll encounter a scene with Rin picking flowers for
Sesshomaru. She’ll ask Sesshomaru if he likes flowers, and Jaken will chastise
her.  Sesshomaru then tells Jaken to be quiet.

REWARD: None

SECOND TIME:

The second time the events appear is when you have to go to
Shiyosai Village/Asagiri Island.  Here are the events that pop up:

Ayame Village:

When you enter the village, head towards the woods.  You’ll find a scene with
Koga rescuing a man from a demon.  Inuyasha will arrive on the scene and
question his intentions.  Koga replies that he’s trying to find Kagome’s
handkerchief.  Inuyasha and Koga bicker some more, then they go off searching
for it.  Kagome pops on to the scene, yelling after them, but they run off

Road to Kasasagi:

Once you enter, keep going south whenever you get the chance, and you’ll run
into a scene with Rin questioning Jaken about his strength.  He boasts that
Sesshomaru depends on him, and then Sesshomaru appears.  Rin asks if he
depends on Jaken, and Jaken panics an says the he depends on Sesshomaru.
Sesshomaru walks off, and Jaken tells Rin not to ask him anymore questions.

REWARD: None

Road to Minamo:

Once you enter, head east, then north all the way to find Totosai.  He’ll ask
Inuyasha to try out a new sword.  Demons appear, and Inuyasha tries the sword
out. It turns out whenever the sword’s swung, it makes flowers bloom.
He thanks Inuyasha, sharpens everyone’s weapons, and leaves.
(No Attack Gain from sharpening though)

REWARD: Nothing

The third time the events appear is when you have to go to Ayame village to
find people associated with Utsugi.  Here are the events that pop up:

Forest to Tsuzumi:

Once you enter, head south, then east.  Once you reach a fork in the path,
head south, then go east and north.  You’ll find an event with Jaken, trying
to find Sesshomaru.  A demon appears which Jaken easily destroys.  Rin
appears, and turns into a demon.  It surprises Jaken, and he doesn’t react.
Sesshomaru appears and destroys the demon, insults Jaken, and leaves.  Rin
(the real one) and Jaken’s speechless.

Minamo Village:

When you enter the village, go south.  You’ll find a group of boys picking on
another boy.  Shippo steps in, and helps him out.  Turns out his name’s
Ishimari.  They then set out on a quest to find Ishimari’s father’s helmet.
Go west across the bridge, then north to his mother’s house.  After she tells
them nothing useful, head back to the bridge and talk to the old man on it.
Head north again and talk to the guy by the blue flower.  A scene then takes
place where Ishimari finds his father’s helmet.  Once that’s done, talk to
Ishimari’s mom to get a Rainbow Seed.

REWARD: Rainbow Seed

Botan Village:

Go to the north east part of the village where you’ll encounter a scene with
two boys talking about Kikyo and her archery skills.  Kikyo appears, and they
challenge her to hit a tree stump.  She shoots her arrow, and they go towards
the stump to see if she hit it.  She warns them not to go because of poisonous
bugs, and it turns out her arrow hit a poisonous bug instead of the stump.
They’re impressed with her, and beg her to train them.
