==========
 1. Intro
==========

Seems like a lot of people have trouble with the japanese here, so I've decided
to make a thorough FAQ about the menus in this game.  If you need info on how
to unlock stuff or how to beat so and so, go to a different FAQ.  And I'm not
here to translate story mode, just the menus.  This is also my first FAQ so
keep that in mind if you find mistakes.  Here we go!!

==============
 2. Main Menu
==============

Arcade Mode
Story Mode
Time Attack
Replay & Record
Iketani Car Guide*
Save & Load
Option

*appears once you start unlocking cars in Story Mode

==================
 3. Car Selection
==================

Before you can start either Arcade Mode or Time Attack you got to select your
car.  Anyway, when you start either modes, the following options appear:

NEW CAR
GARAGE

 3.1. New Car
==============

Here's a little step-by-step on how to start:

- Choose a make: Toyota-Suzuki
- Choose the car (you can change the colour of the car by pressing up/down)
- Choose the parts course
- Type your name
       - To enter in an english name, first choose the letter right above the
         red one on the bottom right. The letters then should change to
         english.
       - Choose the red letter (bottom right) to finish
- Option to save in garage or not.  YES or NO
- Select transmission.  AT or MT (Auto or Manual)

 3.2. Garage
=============

Pretty simple.  Just select the car you want to load up and press X or O.
It'll also ask you to select transmission.  AT or MT

Also if you want to delete a car from the garage, select the car you want gone
and press Select.

 3.2.1. Car Info
=================

To look at your car info instead of pressing X or O, press down.  Out comes a
menu:

NAME
MAKE
CAR
COLOUR
POINTS

press down again:

PARTS COURSE
TUNING STEP
PARTS ACQUIRED

And that's it.  Now to start racing!!!

================
 4. Arcade Mode
================

Arcade mode is...well, the arcade game.  Pretty much why this game was made.

 4.1. Before the Race
======================

Just simply go to the course you want to race on, then choose the opponent on
that course.  You may also change the Battle BGM buy pressing up/down.  To
skip the dialogue sections, just press Start.

 4.2. The Race is Over
=======================

Right after the race, you are given 3 options:

REPLAY   REPLAY SAVE   NEXT

 4.2.1. Replay
===============

Replay is pretty self-explanatory.  You just watch the replay of the race you
just did.
You can change the view by pressing R2 or your assigned button.
To exit, just press Start and select Exit or just wait for it to finish and
select Exit (the red option)

 4.2.2. Replay Save
====================

Here you get to either save the replay or delete a previous one.

SAVE   DELETE

Either way, both options will give you a YES/NO option for saving or deleting.

 4.2.3. Next
=============

Choosing NEXT will direct you to a screen with info about the race (lap time,
total points earned etc.) Sometimes you will earn parts, or the next tuning
step depending on how much points you have. Also later on PARTS CHANGE!! may
appear.  Basically that means you can spend some of your points to buy a new
spoiler, rims, muffler etc.  Again, a YES/NO option will appear.

 4.3. The Next Opponent
========================

After all of this, your next opponent will appear and challenge you.
You are given 3 options:

       BATTLE   CHOOSE OTHER OPPONENT   EXIT

Pretty self-explanatory.  And that's the end of Arcade Mode.

==========
 5. Story
==========

The great addition to the game, with great voice acting too!
When you get into Story Mode you get the following Chapters:

AKINA'S HACHIROKU
AKAGI RED SUNS
PROJECT D

You must first finish Akina's Hachiroku to unlock Akagi Red Suns, and you
must finish that to unlock Project D.  When you pick one of the chapters,
you are asked to select transmission: AT or MT.
Next, you must pick a stage.

 5.1. Getting Started
======================

Once you select a stage, you are shown a small video telling the story.
After some dialogue, you are then told the stage outline.  You are also given
2 options:     BEGIN   CHECK THE MAP

 5.2. Afterwards
=================

Right after the race, you are given the 3 same options in Arcade Mode
(see section 4.2.) Now after the small story section after the race you are
given 4 options:

RETRY   NEXT   CHOOSE STAGE   EXIT

Choosing NEXT will direct you to the very next stage while CHOOSE STAGE will
allow you to select another stage.  This brings Story Mode to an end.

================
 6. Time Attack
================

You know what they say, "Practice makes perfect".  This is the place to be to
get better.

 6.1. Getting Ready
====================

A little different from choosing a course on Arcade Mode, so here's some
step-by-step help:

- Choose a course
- INBOUND/OUTBOUND, DOWNHILL/UPHILL etc. (check the map on screen to see route)
- DRY/WET
- DAY/NIGHT
- USE A GHOST CAR? YES/NO

In order to use a ghost car, you must have a Time Attack Replay saved at that
exact course (Uphill/Downhill and Dry/Wet).  The car or time of day makes no
difference.

 6.2. Once You're Done
=======================

Just like in Arcade Mode, you are given the 3 options:
REPLAY   REPLAY SAVE           NEXT
But unlike Arcade Mode, after the stats and points calculations are done, you
get the the following options:

RETRY   CHANGE COURSE   CHANGE CAR   EXIT

And that's pretty much it for Time Attack

============
 7. Exiting
============

Now, every time you choose the EXIT option you are asked another YES/NO
question.  Basically it's asking if you wish to save or not, which brings me
to...

================
 8. Save & Load
================

Yes yes, Save & Load is 6th on the menu list.  But I found this section a
little more important.  Sometimes you may exit by accident by pressing the
Triangle button, causing the game to skip the whole "Do you wish to save"
screen.  Or sometimes you may say YES to PARTS CHANGE!! by accident.  Or
maybe you did something in the Option section and wish to save it.  This
gives you the choice to Save or Load from the memory card.

You just choose either SAVE (top) or LOAD (bottom) and choose the memory card
to save/load from.  It gives you the YES/NO option to confirm your choice.

====================
 9. Replay & Record
====================

Want to watch a replay you saved? Or just want to check on all the top records
you accomplished on every course?  Look no further.  You are given 2 options
when you enter:

REPLAY (top) or RECORD (bottom)

 9.1. Replay
=============

You only get 2 options here: PLAY REPLAY   DELETE REPLAY
Pretty straight forward.  When finish watching the replay though, you get 2
options:

REPLAY   EXIT

EXIT will just bring you back to the memory card selection screen.

 9.2. Record
=============

Step-by-step guide, even though there's like no japanese in this section:

- Choose a course
- Press left/right to see records for Uphill/Downhill and Dry/Wet
- Press up/down to highlight a specific record to get the KEY and PASSWORD
- Press X to see record list on a specific course by make (i.e. Honda, Subaru)

=======================
 10. Iketani Car Guide
=======================

This section has nothing to do with the actual game itself, but just nice
guide to every car in the game.  Just select the car from the menu you like to
learn more about, and a video of it will be loaded.  To get the cars, you must
first unlock them in Story Mode
