(A German plane flies by a Paramount-esque mountain peak. A legend at the
bottom reads "Sudan – 1939". Indy spies on some military operation from a
ledge high up above a valley. The Germans are aiming for the pyramids and
temples below.)
Indiana Jones INDA01
Germans...Why are they here?
_______________________________________________________________________________
(Indiana ignites a torch to light the temple he just entered.)
Indiana Jones IND600
That's better!
_______________________________________________________________________________
Indiana Jones IND601
I need a torch to cross the bridge.
_______________________________________________________________________________
(As he crosses the bridge with his torch, a huge spider appears. He sets it
on fire, only to cause hundreds of spiders to swarm the bridge.)
Indiana Jones INDG39
Oh... great.
(He swings at the spiders with his torch and accidentally sets the bridge on
fire. Before it collapses, he jumps, grabs a ledge and pulls himself up.)
_______________________________________________________________________________
(Indiana spots a golden idol surrounded by pillars of flames. He uses his whip
to collect it.)
Indiana Jones IND602
Not bad...
(He sets off a trap and escapes from it.)
Indiana Jones INDA20
That was close!

(Indiana moves toward the temple's exit. The door explodes and a German
soldier comes in, aiming his gun at Indiana who is holding the idol.)
Indiana Jones INDA02
Es ist ein Fehler. Ich kann erklären, bitte.
(Another man enters the temple.)
Magnus Völler MAGA01
Then by all means, Doctor Jones. Explain.
Indiana Jones INDA03
Magnus Völler?
Magnus Völler MAGA02
I see you already found what we were looking for.
MAGA03
Thank you. You've saved us a lot of work.
Indiana Jones INDA04
What's a'matter Magnus? Can't go on digs without the Führer's babysitters?
Magnus Völler MAGA04
Sticks and stones, as you Americans say.
Indiana Jones INDA05
Professor Kingston was right about you. I'm just glad he's not around to see
it.
Magnus Völler MAGA05
The idol, Jones!
Indiana Jones INDA06
How're those reflexes?
(Indiana suddenly throws the idol at the German soldier who stumbles backward
from the impact and is about to fall into a pit. Magnus grabs the idol in the
soldier's hands and struggles to pull them back from the pit. Meanwhile,
Indiana is making his way for the exit.)
Magnus Völler MAGA06
Bring him back!
(Indiana tips his hat and escapes.)
_______________________________________________________________________________
(Outside, Indiana notices the German plane flying by and sees it as a chance
to escape. He blocks the temple's exit by making some wooden slats collapse.
German soldiers are coming for him and he takes a fighting stance. This
commences the tutorial. For the dialog used here, see the MESSAGES section.)
_______________________________________________________________________________
(Indiana narrowly dodges the bullets fired by a German soldier on a
watch tower. The soldier shoots a truck which explodes, collapsing the temple
ruins nearby.)

(The watch tower soldier fires at Indiana again. Indiana enters a truck and
notices the plane from before as it is just about to take off. He ploughs
through the watch tower's foundation to destroy it and closes in on the plane
He jumps on its right wing from the truck which crashes behind him. Indiana
punches the plane's pilot and throws him out. He flies off with the plane.)

(Having fought and escaped the German enemy planes in the valley, Indiana
flies off into the sunset.)

ARTC02
I must show you in person. Please come at once. Be careful. Other parties may

(A young woman shouts from across the street.)
Suzie Tan SUTC01
Indy! Over here.
Indiana Jones INDC07
Suzie? Suzie Tan?
(A Tong thug grabs her and pulls her into an alley.)
Suzie Tan SUTC02

Suzie Tan SUTD03
...so, when they came back, Grandpa hid me in a cabinet. I heard them dragging
him away...
SUTD04
They kept asking for something called the Star of the Orient.
(Indiana takes an old book.)
Indiana Jones INDD09
Some sort of jewel?
Suzie Tan SUTD05
I guess so. If I knew where it was, I'd give it to them. I just want my
grandfather back.
Indiana Jones INDD10
Did they mention anything about The Jade Sphere?
Suzie Tan SUTD06
What's that?
Indiana Jones INDD11
Probably nothing... can you get to somewhere safe?
INDD12
Don't worry, I'll find him.
(Suzie leaves the office.)
_______________________________________________________________________________
(Indiana pushes a book shelf and reveals a hidden passage.)
Indiana Jones IND644

Tong thug B TOBD01
No excuses! If we don't find that Jade Sphere, we're all dead men!
Tong thug X TOXD01

Tong thug B TOBD02
I'll tell him you said that. Shut up and keep looking!

him to an underground cavern, Temple-of-Doom style. He whips his way out of
certain death from the collapsing mast he landed on.)

Magnus Völler MAGE07

Archie Tan (unused) ART790

Indiana Jones INDE18

Archie hits Völler's minion, and he and Indiana escape in the cable car.)
Magnus Völler MAGE08
Go!
(Völler notices that the package only contained some cheap statue and angrily
throws it on the ground. Völler's henchmen follow the cable car with their
fancy gangster lifts and a shootout commences. The cable car driver jumps
out.)

Archie Tan ARTE03
Who was that, Indy? He seemed to know you.
Indiana Jones INDE19
Magnus Völler. We studied together under Charles Kingston.
INDE20
He got thrown out of the program for selling artifacts on the black market.
INDE21
After that, he crawled back to Germany, started running errands for Der
Fuhrer.
Archie Tan ARTE04
Kingston asked me to keep the Jade Sphere safe... I didn't think it was worth
killing for.
Indiana Jones INDE22
Neither did I. Something's going on here. I need to start looking for answers.
Archie Tan ARTE05
Where?
Indiana Jones INDE23
The same place Kingston found this. Central America.

Maggie O'Malley. And you can't. That's my gear on the deck. Find another boat.
Indiana Jones INDF26

Maggie O'Malley MOMF03

about two weeks of work to do in five days, and I've already missed half my

Indiana Jones IND663
Germans. Why does it always have to be Germans...
IND666

(unused) IND691
That's more like it.
(He re-enters the temple.)
Indiana Jones IND692
This looks pretty shabby, as far as dungeons go... Might even be worse than my

IND693

IND696
Six boulders... These must represent the six planets the Maya knew about.

Indiana Jones INDG29

Maggie O'Malley MOMG06

Indiana Jones INDG30
Looking for this.
Maggie O'Malley MOMG07
A notebook? Belonged to your friend?
Indiana Jones INDG31
Yeah.
Maggie O'Malley MOMG08
Why would he leave that here?
Indiana Jones INDG32
To keep it safe. He must have been on to something. Something big.

Indiana Jones INDG33
Cut it out.
INDG34
See here?
INDG35
Then Moses stretched out his STAFF over the sea, and all that night the LORD

Kingston must have been looking for that when he disappeared.
Maggie O'Malley MOMG10
And you think our German friends are after it?
Indiana Jones INDG38
Yeah. And I've been nice enough to find it for them. We gotta get out of here,
cover our tracks.

Indiana Jones INDG40
Istanbul? These are just old Mayan calendar translations.
Magnus Völler MAGG10
Of course. How convincing you are.
MAGG11
The notes, Jones. Now.

the boulder mechanism and leaves the room while chaos ensues.)
Magnus Völler MAGG12
No!

Indiana Jones INDG41
What took you so long?
Maggie O'Malley MOMG11
You're welcome.
MOMG12
So, headed for Istanbul, are we?
Indiana Jones INDG42
What do you mean, "we"?
Maggie O'Malley MOMG13
Dr. Jones... Indiana, let me save you some trouble. You're going to tell me
that I can't come with you.
MOMG14
I'm going to remind you how I saved your life. You'll tell me I have to stay
behind, for my own safety or some such nonsense.
MOMG15
You'll leave, I'll follow, and you'll keep wondering when I'll be showin' up.

Curator CURH01

Indiana Jones INDH44

Magnus Völler MAGH13

Indiana Jones IND697
The Germans made it to the Palace already...

Indiana Jones IND703

mural.)
Indiana Jones IND698
This is another of those Markers Kingston was looking for.
(unused) IND710
That switch has the same motif as the one in the Moses Chamber... wonder if it
does the same thing?
(Pressing it into the wall makes another statue rise up from the floor in the
palace room. Indiana returns to the palace and faces another shootout with the
Germans.)
Indiana Jones IND704
Those are priceless antiques... And those bozos are using them for target
practice.
(unused) IND705
How did they get in here?
IND706
Maybe I can use those skulls to jam the gears...
(Indiana puts skulls into the gears to stop the moving walls from crushing
him. He avoids a giant meat slicer trap and activates the third mural.)
Indiana Jones IND707
Let's see, a sultan and some harem girls... I think I can guess how these are
supposed to be placed.
(He places the three statues on pedestals and reveals another underground
passageway where he encounters a trap.)
Indiana Jones IND708
I should be able to get through this if I can just figure out the timing...
IND709
I need to get to that coffin. Hrm. Those swords don't look like they're there
just for decoration... I wonder...
(Indiana activates the fourth and final mural.)
_______________________________________________________________________________
(Germans have invaded the statue room in the meantime. Indiana takes them out
and pushes the four statues into the center of the room.)
Indiana Jones IND711
From a guarding position to one used in knighting ceremonies... I'm gonna take
that as a sign to go ahead.
IND712
Well. Only one way to find out if this was the right combination... I might as
well go check this out.

MAGH16
But enough about me...tell me about our common acquaintance, Indiana Jones.
(Two of Völler's henchmen sneak up Maggie from behind.)
Magnus Völler MAGH17
I know who you are, Miss O'Malley, and I know who you work for. The question
is, does Jones?
(As a German soldier brings more champagne, Maggie uses him to distract the
others and to escape.)
Magnus Völler MAGH18
Bring her back. And try not to cause a diplomatic incident.

Maggie O'Malley MOMH19

It's in the temple above the city, but they will not let anyone near it... as
your journalist friend found out.
Indiana Jones INDL54
I'm sure she didn't mean any harm, Charles.
Professor Charles Kingston KINL05
She tried to break into the temple. Making the Staff's existence known could
have dire consequences.
KINL06
Imagine the people who might attempt to claim it...and misuse it.
Indiana Jones INDL55
I don't have to imagine, Charles. Magnus Völler is coming for the staff.
Professor Charles Kingston (unsubbed)
Magnus? Hmmp. No matter. As long as you retreat both the other Shepherds, he
should have no way to follow you.
Professor Charles Kingston (unused) KINL07
Magnus? Hmmp. No matter. As long as you located both the other Shepherds, he
should have no way to follow you.
Indiana Jones INDL56
Both... the other Shepherds?
Professor Charles Kingston KINL08
You read my notes...
Indiana Jones INDL57
Well sure, but...
Professor Charles Kingston KINL09
All my notes?
Indiana Jones INDL58
We were a little pressed for time.
Professor Charles Kingston KINL10
Indiana, if Magnus found the other Shepherd...
(A German zeppelin is flying over the village.)
Professor Charles Kingston KINL11
Indy, you must get the staff before they do.
_______________________________________________________________________________
(The Germans have already invaded the village.)
Indiana Jones IND742
Ugh. More Germans...
IND743
If those Germans are on my tail, I'm in trouble... Well, more trouble, anyway.

(Indiana uses a rope to swing himself down into another building. He knocks
out a German soldier who was just about to throw some dynamite at him. Indiana
makes off. Incidentally, this is the building where Maggie is kept. She opens
the door next to the soldier and sees that the dynamite in the soldiers hand
is about to explode. She jumps out of the window. Indiana was crushed under
some wooden slats by the explosion. He composes himself and dodges bullets
by some more Germans.)

German soldier 1 (unsubbed)
Hey!
German soldier 2 (unsubbed)
Was?
German soldier 1 (unsubbed)
Hast du den Generator da hinten angeschlossen?
German soldier 2 (unsubbed)
Ah, Mann. Ist er schon wieder kaputt?
German soldier 3 (unsubbed)
Ist das kalt...
(Indiana climbs down a ladder but the German soldier notices him.)
German soldier 3 (unsubbed)
Hey!
(The German soldier pulls away the ladder and Indiana falls into some crates.
Indiana takes on the entire German camp. He ignites some dynamite to blow up
a boulder. Eventually, he enters the temple.)

Indiana Jones IND744
And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the
midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and
the bush was not consumed.
IND745
So... I need to find a way to open those gates and then set the bush on
fire... Yeah, something to fuel the fire would be nice too.
(Indiana fires some spears at a giant snake statue. It emits some sort of
liquid from its poison fangs, causing a spherical metal cage to open below.
It reveals a bush.)
Indiana Jones IND746
All that's left now is to set the bush on fire...
(Indiana ignites the bush and its flame burns blue. A new path opens deeper
into the temple. Indiana comes across a giant cradle.)
Indiana Jones IND747
And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her
maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the
reeds, she sent her maid to fetch it.
(Indiana has to move some statues around. By pushing a switch, he can make
them breathe fire.)
Indiana Jones IND749
Looks like things are going to need to get a little hot around here...
(Placing all statues correctly and activating the switch
makes a giant Moses statue in the back of the room move its staff to reveal
the real Staff of Kings.)
Indiana Jones IND748
And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea
togo back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and
the waters were divided.
(Indiana grabs the staff and escapes a series of deadly traps. He makes his
way back to the previous room.)

Maggie O'Malley MOMM24
You found it. I was almost hoping you'd come back empty-handed.
(She points her gun at Indiana.)
Indiana Jones INDM59
What do you--
Indiana Jones (unused) INDM60
What do you mean?
Indiana Jones INDM61
I've got to say, Fraulein, you've got one heck of an Irish accent.
Maggie O'Malley MOMM25
I'm no German, you idiot! I'm working with British Intelligence!
MOMM26
My mission was to get the staff before Völler... but it's too late for that
now, we're surrounded!
MOMM27
We can't let him have the Staff, Indy.
(She reveals some explosives in her other hand.)
Maggie O'Malley MOMM28
But we can seal it inside this cave forever.
Indiana Jones INDM62
Story of my life. Come on, let's blow this place from the outside.
(Völler and his henchmen appear. A German soldier takes Maggie hostage.)
Magnus Völler MAGM19
Indiana. I grow tired of these reunions. I should bury you here, in this
temple.
Indiana Jones INDM63
Funny you should say that, Magnus.
Magnus Völler MAGM20
Take the spy and the Staff aboard the Odin. And reconnect these.
Maggie O'Malley MOMM29
Let me go, you bastards!
(Maggie is pulled away. Another German soldier takes the staff from Indiana.)
Magnus Völler MAGM21
Goodbye, Indy.
Magnus Völler (unsubbed)
Stabtempel in Stücke sprengen.
Magnus Völler (unused) MAGM22
Jagt diesen Tempel in die Luft!
(Völler points his gun at Indiana. Indiana runs back deeper into the temple.
Völler shoots to the side instead of at Indiana himself. He leaves Indiana to
his fate and exits the temple. An explosion blocks the way behind Indiana. He
is back in the cradle room.)
_______________________________________________________________________________
Indiana Jones (unused) IND750
Huh. Maybe I can use this puzzle to my advantage...
IND751
There's a crack in the wall... That wasn't there before!
(He sets off another trap that crashes into the wall and opens it.)
_______________________________________________________________________________
(Indiana uses a cradle to raft down a river inside an ice cavern. He crashes
through some icicles with the cradle which drops down into the valley. Indiana
lands directly on the German zeppelin.)
_______________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________
(Indiana enters the zeppelin's cargo room. The Germans notice him and shoot at
him. Indiana uses a control panel to move a hanging piano around and knocks a
German soldier out the open hatch.)
_______________________________________________________________________________
Indiana Jones IND756
If they get up those ladders, I'm in trouble...
(unused) IND757
I need to knock 'em off those ladders!
IND752
Heh - how often do I get to knock German soldiers around with a piano?
(unsubbed)
What? Did I drop that on you?
_______________________________________________________________________________
(Moving on, Indiana is confronted by more Germans in the plane hangar.)
Indiana Jones (unused) IND758
There's gotta be an easier way in...
(unused) IND759
The plane's been shot...
(unused) IND760
Woah!
(unused) IND761
If I don't shoot that crate, I'm dead!
(He jumps on one of the planes and holds on to its right wing, taking out two
German soldiers with his gun. He moves forward outside of the zeppelin.)
Indiana Jones IND762
A little chilly out here. And REALLY far away from the ground...
_______________________________________________________________________________
(Indiana whips his way into Maggie's prison which is guarded by hordes of
Germans.)
Maggie O'Malley MOMN30
Indy!
Indiana Jones INDN64
Maggie!

Indiana Jones INDN65

(Indiana and Maggie find Völler and Kingston.)
Professor Charles Kingston KINP12
Magnus, please... would you just listen to me?
Magnus Völler MAGP23
Listen? To you? I have beaten you, Herr Professor. What I do, I do for the
glory of Germany.
MAGP24
And there is nothing you can do to stop me. Your lap dog, Indiana Jones, is
dead. And I have THIS!
(He holds the staff in his hand. A German soldier notices Indiana and Maggie.)
German soldier (unsubbed)
Herr Völler!
German soldier (unused) OPIP01
Herr Völler! Alarm!
Magnus Völler (unused) MAGP25
You again? Must I do everything myself?
(unused) MAGP26
Jones! This time, I will WATCH you die!
MAGP27
So long, Indiana!
(He aims at Indiana. Suddenly, Kingston jumps out of the wheelchair and
tackles Völler.)
Professor Charles Kingston KINP13
Magnus!
(Völler shoots Kingston who falls to the ground.)
Indiana Jones INDP66
Charles!
Professor Charles Kingston KINP14
The staff...
(Kingston dies.)
Magnus Völler MAGP28
How touching...
(Völler aims his gun at Indiana and shoots. He has no bullets left.)
Indiana Jones (unused) INDP67
Hold on!
(Völler takes the staff.)
Magnus Völler MAGP29
You want the staff, Jones? Come and get it!
(Some sort of energy wave comes out of the staff, bathing the sky in a bright
light.)
_______________________________________________________________________________
w5l102b.fsb
(Indiana wakes up on the ground. Waves are all around him, threatening to
crash any second. He looks above and sees the zeppelin burning. He wakes up
the unconscious Maggie. They see Völler taking off with a motorcycle.)
Indiana Jones INDP68
Come on!
(Indiana points to a motorcycle with a sidecar. They are chasing Völler.
German motorcycles are chasing them.)

Oh, I don't like this.

MAG774
Do you really think you can win this?
(unused) MAG775
You.. cheat!
MAG776
Damn you, Jones!
MAG777
Just die, already!
MAG772
You don't have what it takes!
MAG773
Ha! Is that all you've got?
(Indiana shoots at Völler with a rocket launcher. Eventually, he catches up to
him.)

(Indiana grabs the staff that Völler is holding. He punches Völler who drops
out of his seat, barely holding on to the staff in midair. Völler cannot hold
on to the staff and is sucked into the waves. Indiana holds the staff and
drives the motorcycle out of the sea.)
Indiana Jones (unsubbed)
Come on!
(unused) INDR69
Come on, hurry!
(They hop off and run. Indiana suddenly stops, held back by the staff.)
Maggie O'Malley MOMR31
What are you doing? Come on!
Indiana Jones INDR70
I'm not... doing... anything!
(The staff causes the waves to crash and bury the German zeppelin underneath.)

Indiana Jones INDR71
You ok?
Maggie O'Malley MOMR32
I'm fine. How about you, Dr. Jones?
Indiana Jones INDR72
Not bad.
Maggie O'Malley MOMR33
You know, I have my orders. I'm supposed to keep the staff away from unsavory
types.
Indiana Jones INDR73
Little late for that, don't you think?
Magnus Völler (unused) MAGR30
Jones!
(As Indiana and Maggie lean in for a kiss, the staff transforms into a snake.)
Indiana Jones INDR74
Aaah!
(Indiana throws the snake to the ground. It hisses and crawls off.)
Indiana Jones INDR75
It'll take care of itself. Come on.

Indiana Jones IND923
Sorry dad. There've been reports of looting in the temples in this area. I
wanted to get down here before anything else was lost.
IND924
The troubling part is, the items in question have been turning up on the black

Germans? Junior, we're in the middle of South America.

Story:
Sudan
After observing some German activity near a forgotten temple, Indy looks for
another way in.
Indy is making his way into the temple. A torch would be handy to illuminate
the way.
At the door of the temple.
The temple is falling apart! Reach the exit before it comes down on Indy.
Now that he has escaped from the temple, Indy has to make his way through the
German camp. First, must learn how to punch.
Alternate: Now that he has escaped from the temple, Indy has to make his way
through the German camp. First, he must learn how to punch.
Now Indy learns how to use objects and hotset items.
Indy learns how to use his whip in combat.
Indy learns how to grapple with enemies.
A large group of soldiers stands between Indy and certain escape.
Finally escaping from the Germans. Too bad the plane is damaged...
San Francisco
Indy has received a note from his friend Archie Tan about the disappearance
of Kingston and the possible connection to the mysterious Jade Sphere.
Someone was waiting for Indy. He must be on the right path.
More hired muscle. Blind Duck really wants to get rid of Indy, but why?
After a short flight, more trouble awaits Indy.
Seconds after the Tong leader entered the factory, it blew up. Must go in
there and save Suzie!
Alternate: Seconds after the Tong leader entered the factory, it blew up.
Indy must go in there and save Suzie!
Almost had Blind Duck. He just went up the staircase with Suzie. All Indy
needs to do is deal with two shooting Tongs.
They have nowhere to go. This fight ends now.
Suzie led Indy to Archie's import shop. Unfortunately, someone else seems to
have been here before...
Cleaned up the mess in Archie's secret store room but there's no clue of what
he was working on down here. There must be another secret path...
The Star of the Orient! What secret does that ship hide?
Another group of Tongs and the Jade Sphere is still nowhere to be found.
Better deal with them and then look for the Sphere.
Having managed not to give Magnus the Jade Sphere, Indy makes his escape on a
cable car.
Panama
Knowing the Jade Sphere is from Panama, Indy makes his way there to get his
old professor's notes and find more clues as to his disappearance.
As much as Maggie tries to help, sometimes it is not appreciated. Especially
when she triggers a rock slide.
The inhabitants of this village were good friends of Kingston. It can't be a
coincidence that they are under attack.
After having helped the villagers, Indy makes his way to the temple to pick
up Kingston's trail.
More pillagers. Their main camp should be close by.
The leader of the pillagers seems to love fire a bit too much. Still, Indy
must go through this man to reach the entrance to the temple.
Finally, the Mayan Temple.
Alternate: Finally, the Mayan temple.
Magnus' men are here already! Indy must make it to the Planetarium before
them.
Alternate: Magnus' men are here already! Must make it to the Planetarium
before them.
There must be a different way to deal with this machine gunner...
Indy has reached the top of Three Rivers, but looks like company is coming...
A strange room, with four different paths. Which way to go?
Alternate: A strange room, with four different paths opening in front of
Indy. Which way to go?
Giant stone blocks falling behind Indy! He must dash to safety.
Another Mayan puzzle. How to get the swinging boulders to open up the path?
These large boulders are blocking Indy's path. They sort of look like giant
marbles...
This room looks like some ancient version of basketball, but much more
dangerous.
With the staircase leading up destroyed, maybe there is a different way
out...
Indy must find the way around this large hole in the ground.
Good thing that Indy has a torch to light his way down this dark corridor...
Another trial from the Mayans... a burning bridge. Indy must hurry across the
bridge before the flames reach him.
Kingston was fascinated by this room last time. He must have hidden his notes
somewhere around here.
Istanbul
Indy uses the cover of a reception to go looking for three more mosaics
depicting Moses' life. They will lead him to the location of the
Staff of Kings.
German spies!
On the path to the second mosaic.
More German spies.
The German spies stand between Indy and the path to the third mosaic.
The path to the third mosaic.
Indy finds himself in an ancient mausoleum.
A trap! Indy must run or get killed by a giant thresher!
On the path to the fourth mosaic.
Indy must find a way to open up the bladed corridor in order to reach the
fourth mosaic.
So close yet so far: blades block Indy's path. Indy must jump at the right
time.
Some German spies await Indy as he is about to find the Shepherd.
The Shepherd is close. Only a few thousand bugs stand in the way...
The Shepherd. Finally!
Alternate: The Shepherd. Finally.
Indy and Maggie must escape the Germans using this elephant as a ride.
Nepal
When Indy awakes, Maggie is gone. She must be crazy to brave the cold cliffs
of Nepal by herself.
Good. A place to warm up.
The wind is really picking up out there. Good thing Indy found shelter.
This dark tunnel seems like a good path to go forward.
Indy knows that he is on the right path: this village should be near the
Staff's resting place.
Where are all these German soldiers coming from?
Indy must hurry up and find a way out of the village before it is overrun by
German soldiers.
A small encampment of German soldiers stands between Indy and the Ice Cave.
The Ice Cave: the final resting place of the Staff of Kings.
Indy must find a way to bring down both Snake Bridges.
This room seems to be built around the story of Moses and the Nile.
Finally, the Staff of Kings! Now to find a way to get it out of its icy
prison.
Collapse! No time to find out why, run Indy!
Indy must find a way out of the Ice Cave now that the only exit has
collapsed.
Indy found a way out, but this boat ride won't be a pleasure cruise.
Odin
This zeppelin must be the airship that Magnus uses as a mobile base of
operation. Lots of interesting things in here...
Maggie and Kingston must be kept prisoner around here somewhere...
Quite the view from up here. Falling is not an option, but now Indy must find
a way in and locate Maggie and Kingston.
The good news is that Indy knows where Maggie is. The bad news is that the
Germans aren't keen on stow aways...
Magnus took off with the Staff! Indy must stop him before he escapes!

A good friend of Marcus Brody, he might have some information that Indy can
use.
Charles Kingston
Kingston's notebook led Indy here. He was looking for the Shepherd, which
would in turn lead him to the Staff of Kings.
German secret agents
It's no coincidence that these German spies are here seeing as Magnus is
here as well.
Nepal
Magnus Völler
Magnus was looking for the same thing as Indy after all: the Staff of Kings.
Maggie O'Malley
O'Malley followed Indy to Nepal, but has vanished at the first occasion.
Charles Kingston
Finally caught up with Kingston.
Villagers
Peaceful villagers who happen to be in the path of the Germans. However
peaceful they are, they will not let the Germans trample over them.
German Snow Patrols
Specialized soldiers who know how to deal with snow conditions. Magnus seems
to be well equipped for this mission.
Odin
Magnus Völler
Magnus has not only taken the Staff from Indy, he's also kidnapped both
Kingston and Miss O'Malley.
Maggie O'Malley
Turns out that Miss O'Malley is a British spy. Magnus has kidnapped her and
is holding her hostage on his flying fortress, the Odin.
Charles Kingston
Kingston has been kidnapped by Magnus. Hopefully no harm will come to him.
German Marine
The best soldiers of the German army. This mission must be very important if
they are part of Magnus' retinue.

Notes:
Sudan
Sudan Temple
I'm in Sudan to recover some relics from the area's Nubian pyramids before
they're lost to looters and graverobbers. I just hope I'm not too late.
San Francisco
Lao Che Lounge
This is the Lao Che Lounge. The local Tong thugs use this place as their
meeting house.
Star of the Orient
The Star of the Orient was used to smuggle goods out of China in the 1800s.
It was buried as landfill after the 1906 quake, and the city rebuilt on
top of it.
Panama
Jungle Village
Kingston did a lot of work in this area of the jungle. He was on good terms
with the local natives. Maybe they know where he went.
Mayan combat arena
They don't try court cases like this anymore... The Maya used to pit
champions against each other to determine a person's guilt or innocence.
Panama Temple
Kingston brought Magnus and I to this temple back when we were both
students. This is where we found the Jade Sphere.
Three rivers
In the Mayan myth of Xibalba, there were three rivers guarding the
underworld... one made of blood, a second of pus, and a third of scorpions.
Four Paths
Another room based on the legend of Xibalba: these four paths were meant to
confuse and test the traveler, leading him to his doom.
Ball court
The Ball Court is part of the legend of the Hero Twins who defied Xibalba.
They let the Lords of the Underworld beat them, in order to fool them into
letting their guard down.
Causeway
A bridge of fire was the last test before the Planetarium, the resting place
of the gods.
Istanbul
Palace
This used to be the Sultan's private palace in Istanbul. But it was recently
converted into a museum. Tonight they're having a gala ball to celebrate
the opening.
Mosaic 1
This mosaic seems to portray baby Moses being placed in the river by his
mother...
Mosaic 2
Another part of the Moses story -- this mosaic shows Moses facing the
Burning Bush.
Mosaic 3
Another Moses mosaic -- this one shows him parting the Red Sea on the Exodus
from Egypt.
Mosaic 4
A final mosaic depicting Moses. This one shows him descending from Mt. Sinai
with the Ten Commandments.
Museum room
This room is filled with treasures from the Ottoman Empire. Many of the
Sultanate's most valuable treasures are kept here.
Moseleum
This mausoleum was the final resting place for some of the most important
historical figures of the Ottoman Empire. May they rest in peace.
Gear room
The giant statue in this room seems to represent the guardian of the Staff.
I bet those two stones it's holding are supposed to represent the
Ten Commandments.
Four statues
These statues must represent the Guardians of the Staff. They were a select
group of priests, chosen to take the Staff into hiding and safeguard it
until it could be reclaimed by someone worthy...
Shepherd
This object must be the Shepherd. The legend says the Shepherd will reveal
the final resting place of the Staff. That's great... but how does it work?
Nepal
Nepalese village
This city must have been founded by the Guardians of the Staff as a final
resting place for their treasure. The current inhabitants must have
descended from them, as well as the local Nepalese.
Burning bush
This room is probably based on the story of Moses and the Burning Bush.
Nile room
If I'm right, the story of baby Moses being placed in the river by his
mother has something to do with this room...
Staff room
The Guardians of the Staff must have carved this chamber out of the stone of
the mountain itself. It must have taken them years.
Odin
Shipwreck
The Eagle was a clipper brig - it was sailing from Calcutta to Hong Kong in
1850 when it got caught in a typhoon. If this is it, then whatever
prisoners she carried never got their shot at parole...

Fortune:
Sudan
Nubian Bust
This Nubian bust dates from about 1300 BC. It's a nice piece. Marcus should
pay handsomely for it.
Limestone Tablet
This limestone tablet depicts a Nubian archer named Nenu, if I'm reading the
inscription right. It's almost 4000 years old.
Gold Ram's Head
This gold ram's head looks like it was some sort of amulet. It's pure gold,
probably from about 700BC or so.
San Francisco
Gold Bowl
This gold bowl dates from the 8th century Tang dynasty.
Ceramic Figures
This is a ceramic figurine of an Earth spirit, probably from the Tang
dynasty.
Bronze Flask
This bronze flask dates from the Zhou period, around the fourth century BC.
Bronze Horses
These bronze horses date back to the 2nd century AD, eastern Han dynasty.
They're good pieces.
Gold Censer
Looks like a censer for burning incense. Western Han dynasty, if I'm not
mistaken.
Dog Statue
It looks like a crude piece, but it deserves a place in a museum. It's a
burial offering, hard to tell when it was made. I'd say right around two
thousand years ago, give or take.
Ming Vase
This jar is a genuine Ming artifact. I can't just leave it here.
Earthenware Jar
This jar is earthenware, painted and shaped to look like bronze. It would
have been used for burial offerings. What it's doing here, I have no idea.
Ancient Bank Note
If I'm reading this right, this is a bank note from the 13th century. It was
worth about a thousand coins back then... I wonder how much Marcus would be
willing to part with for it.
Panama
Jade Figurine
Interesting piece. Jade was reserved for the elite of Maya society, but this
figure is clearly a servant or captive. Maybe it served as a trophy or
commemoration of some kind...
Ceramic Bowl
This ceramic bowl is covered with scenes of human sacrifice. Maybe it was
used in those rituals in some way -- possibly to collect blood from the
dying victims.
Ceramic Figurine
Marcus will want to see this. It's ceramic, but remarkably well-preserved. I
better be careful with it.
Wooden Figurine
This is actually a wooden carving, covered in stucco and painted. It depicts
the Maya rain god, Chac. Something like this was found at the dig site at
Tikal.
Jade Pendant
This piece looks like some sort of pendant. This type of bright green jade
would have been highly prized by the Maya.
Death Mask
This looks like a death mask for a Mayan ruler. It's a combination of jade
and mother of pearl... it would have been priceless a treasure to the Maya.
Ceramic Monkey
This ceramic monkey figurine was taken from a dig site in Uaxactun,
Guatemala.
Istanbul
Royal Shield
This shield must be part of the armor of Sultan Mustapha III.
Royal Gauntlets
These gauntlets look like part of a set. I bet they're part of
Sultan Mustapha III's suit of armor.
Gold Belt Buckle
This belt buckle predates the palace by almost two thousand years. It's a
priceless artifact. I'm not about to let the Germans find it.
Crystal Bottle
This bottle was carved from a single piece of rock crystal... I'm guessing
late 16th century.
Holy Book Receptacle
This would have been used to house the Sultan's Koran. I better keep it away
from the Germans.
Gold Relic
This thing is real gold, all right. Those jewels are real, too. Germany
could pay all her troops for a week with this thing.
Royal Crown
This is the crown worn by Suleiman the Magnificent. It's probably worth more
than... well, more than I've ever made, that's for certain.
Bejeweled Aigrette
This aigrette would have been used to adorn the headdress of the Sultan
himself. These gems are the genuine article. It must be priceless.
Dagger of Topkapi
This is the Dagger of Topkapi -- one of the most famous treasures in all of
Istanbul. I can't let those Germans get their hands on this.
Gold Flask
This flask is solid gold, and encrusted with precious stones. I better keep
this safe until the Germans have left town.
Selim's Water Bottle
This water bottle was made for Sultan Selim II in the late 1500s. It's even
inscribed with his name.
Gold Writing Case
This writing case is jewel-encrusted gold. I'd hate to see this bankrolling
the German war machine.
Nepal
Ceremonial Collar
This collar depicts the god Shiva in the incarnation of Bhairava. From the
style, I'd say late Malla period, maybe 1675 or so.
Ivory Buddha
Looks like ivory, maybe 17th century. It's an image of the Buddha
surmounting a skull.
Copper Indra
Looks like a representation of Indra. It's definitely copper, and possibly
from the 16th century.
Jambhala Statue
It looks like gold, but it's mostly copper. Still, a nice piece depicting
Jambhala, the Buddhist god of Wealth.
Mask of Bhairava
Looks like late 15th or early 16th century. I'd guess this mask of Bhairava
was used in religious ceremonies.
Odin
Germanic Cup
I recognize this piece. It was created in the 1500s for an order of Germanic
knights. The figure on the top is supposed to symbolize strength and power.
No wonder Magnus likes it.
Germanic Shield
This shield dates back to the old Langobard, one of the Germanic tribes of
the dark ages.

Tutorial:
Fighting
You wouldn't think archeology was such a rough profession. Well, you'd be
wrong.
Sometimes, the only way out of a scrape is to use your fists. Lemme show you
how.
First, the right jab: It's weak, but it's fast. Sometimes the first hit is
the most important.
To perform a right jab, move the Wii Remote sharply forward.
To perform a right hand jab, simply move the Wii Remote sharply forward.
All right... Let's try out our left. Move the Nunchuk sharply forward.
To perform a left jab, move the Nunchuk sharply forward.
Got that down. Let's try something with a little more oomph: the hook. Slower
than a jab, but stronger, too.
To perform a right hook, move the Wii Remote sharply from right to left.
To perform a right hand hook, move the Wii Remote sharply from right to left.
Not bad! The left hook is similar. This time, move the Nunchuk sharply from
left to right.
To perform a left hook, move the Nunchuk sharply from left to right.
Okay, your strongest punch is the Uppercut. It's pretty slow, but if it
lands, it'll be worth it.
To perform a right-handed uppercut, move the Wii Remote sharply upward.
To perform a right hand uppercut, move the Wii Remote sharply upward.
Like an old pro. Now try the left: move the Nunchuk sharply upwards to
perform an uppercut.
To perform a left uppercut, move the Nunchuk sharply upward.
Well, the good news is that your punches look good. The bad news is, some
guys you fight can block or dodge them.
Don't worry - when it happens, just try a different attack or a different
punch. Here comes a helpful fella. Let's try out the punches you just
learned.
Fighting (PlayStation 2)
To deliver a quick punch, quickly tap X.
Pressing X for longer will result in a strong punch.
By tapping the X quickly, you can chain many punches.
Try different short and long taps for different punch combos.
Items
Fists are great, but if you fight fair, you're gonna lose.
When things get rough, look around you. You'd be surprised what you can use
as a weapon.
For example, see that shack to my left? The icon above it means I can use my
whip on it. Give it a shot, kid...
Activate the shack Hotset by whipping it: press B while moving the Wii Remote
sharply downwards.
Pull back to activate the Hotset.
Now we're talkin'. See that icon above the shovel in front of me? That means
I can use it.
In this case, I can pick it up. Just press A.
Press A to pick up the shovel
Now, if you press A again, I'll drop the object I'm holding. But before we do
that, let's put it to good use...
You can knock a guy around with an object by swinging the Wii Remote
sharply from right to left.
To hit an enemy with an object, move the Wii Remote sharply from right to
left while holding the object.
That oughta wake 'em up. You can also throw an object at an enemy if he's out
of reach.
To throw an item, press A while swinging the Wii Remote down.
To throw an object, Press A while moving the Wii Remote sharply downward.
Not bad at all. If you're pressed for time, you can quickly throw an object
that's lying on the ground.
To pull off one of these quick throws, move to the object and press A while
swinging the Wii Remote down.
To perform a quick throw, move to the object and press A while moving the
Wii Remote sharply down.
Always check out an area before getting into a fight. It'll be worth it.
Some enemies might be able to dodge thrown objects, but none of 'em can dodge
a bigger object, like that shack, or a bookcase, if you bring it down on
their head!
Dodging
The best way to win a fight is to not get hit. You're gonna face some big
bruisers out there. Keep your face off their fists.
If you can dodge a punch, the bad guy might lose his balance, which is when
you want to counterattack. To dodge, press A + B at the same time.
To dodge, press A and B at the same time.
Dodging is all about being ready: all enemies have a "tell" which lets you
know when they're about to swing. Watch for it.
Remember, against certain enemies, dodging and counterattacking will be your
only option! I fought a guy like that near an airplane once...
Whip
The first time I used a whip didn't go so well. Luckily, I'm here to teach
you everything I've learned since then. The whip can be your best friend
in a fight.
Aside from using it to pull furniture down on top of bad guys, you can use
the whip to pull enemies in close, and to disarm them.
Let's pull this soldier in by the neck. Just press B while moving the
Wii Remote sharply upwards.
To whip grab an enemy around the neck, press B while moving the Wii Remote
sharply upwards.
Uh oh. You gotta pull 'em in quick, or he can break free. Just like that.
To pull an enemy in, whip him first, then pull the Wii Remote sharply back.
PULL the enemy in to perform a finishing move.
Pull the Wii Remote sharply back to perform a finishing move.
I can also snare someone by the waist. To do that , press B while moving the
Wii Remote sharply from right to left.
To whip grab an enemy by the waist, press B while moving the Wii Remote
sharply right to left.
Keep in mind that some enemies will break free faster than others.
Snare this guy by the waist again and pull him in close.
Right. Now, the whip isn't just for pulling bad guys toward you. You can also
use it to disarm enemies.
To disarm an enemy, press B and move the Wii Remote sharply in any direction.
To disarm an enemy, Press B and move the Wii Remote sharply in any direction.
You can also snare an enemy by the feet. Just press B while moving the
Wii Remote downwards.
To whip grab an enemy by the feet, press B while moving the Wii Remote
downwards.
Nice catch. Let's reel him in. Pull the Wii Remote back sharply.
When you've got a bad guy on the ground, you can punch him a few times before
he gets back up.
To punch enemy on the ground, move either the Wii Remote or Nunchuk sharply
Better take care of this guy now before he starts any trouble.
Grappling
One more thing I better show you - Grappling. Now, this won't work all the
time, but when it works, it WORKS.
Weaker enemies and guys who are stunned will be easy pickin's. Others might
break away, so you better act fast.
To grapple, all you need to do is press Z.
To grapple an enemy, press Z.
Once you got someone grappled, you can punch them... Fair, no. Effective,
yes.
To punch an enemy while grappled, move either Wii Remote or the Nunchuk
sharply forward.
Or you can push them into objects, or other enemies, to damage or stun them.
To push them, simply move both the Wii Remote and Nunchuk sharply forward at
the same time.
To push an enemy while grappled, move both Wii Remote and Nunchuk sharply
forward at the same time.
You can smash enemies into furniture, statues, aquariums - whatever's handy.
Grapple someone, then look for an Icon for a place to smash some sense into
them.
Like that desk, for instance. Press Z to grapple him, bring him to the icon,
and press A.
To perform a finishing move on grappled enemy, Press A when the button prompt
appears.
To perform a finishing move on grappled enemy, Press A when the button prompt
appears.
Alright, kid. Looks like you can handle yourself. Let's practice what you
know on some German soldiers.
Remember -- look around the room before you start fighting. And keep moving!
Scan
Here's a chance to try your hand against many enemies at once.
I see a bookshelf that looks like it could be pulled down on someone's head.
There are also some objects lying around that look useful as improvised
weapons.
Don't forget the pipe that's in the German's hand - once you disarm him you
can pick it up and use it too!
Revolver
Uh oh... looks like these guys are getting serious. Good thing I brought an
old "friend" along.
I better show you how to handle my revolver, or this'll turn into a real bad
day.
First, point your Wii Remote at the screen to aim. The crosshairs will show
you where you're aiming.
To aim Indy's gun, point the Wii Remote at the screen.
So far so good. But aiming's the easy part. To shoot, first stand up by
pressing forward on the Control Stick. Then press B to shoot.
To stand up and shoot, press forward on the Control Stick and then Press B
to shoot.
Watch the color of the crosshairs - that'll tell you whether you're aiming
at something worth shooting.
The crosshairs will be grey when I'm in cover. They'll turn red if you aim
at something that's not worth shooting. But if the crosshairs turn green,
then fire away.
Shoot one of the dynamite boxes.
This thing only holds six shots, so you better learn to reload. Just point
your Wii Remote offscreen and give it a good shake.
To reload Indy's gun, simply point the Wii Remote away from the screen and
shake it.
Good. Now, sometimes I'll take cover behind something big. When I am, try
pressing left or right on the Control Stick. I might be able to move to a
better position.
To move from side-to-side, press left or right on the Control Stick.
Okay, kid, that's it! Be sure keep an eye out for things in the environment
that I can shoot at.
There might be something I can shoot to take out a bad guy more quickly, or
to clear the way to an enemy who's hard to reach. Remember, if your
crosshairs go green, you can shoot it.
GOOD! One more time!
NOT QUITE! Try again.
