- Update Hints and Tips
- Merry Christmas to all HG players, there has being a mistake for getting the
100% of item found. It appears that you do not need to make a pair of Metal
Boots from the Alchemy room at all. So this update is to clear up the
mistake, and add a new section on how to get some extra Magist Medallions.

- I've gotten 100% of items found this time, this includes 1 secret item, all
60 hidden items, 32 non-hidden items in the Castle, 34 non-hidden items in
Mansion, 5 non-hidden items in Chaos Forest, 5 non-hidden items in Water
Tower and 9 non-hidden items in House of Truth. (A total of 146 items.)

(25 in Castle, 20 in Mansion, 5 in Water Tower and 7 in House of Truth.)
- So far I've gotten 96% of items found, this includes every non-hidden items I
can find, and together with the 57 hidden items listed in this FAQ. If there
are some hidden items that I have not listed in this FAQ, please contribute
your findings to me. Please include details like the item's name, location
and how did you find it. Thanks in advance.
If that 4% doesn't belong to the hidden items, that means the hidden item
list is complete. Let's keep our fingers crossed, shall we?

03. Huh? What's this? (Introduction) GETIN
===============================================================================
This FAQ is to help you obtain hidden items in Haunting Ground. Hidden items
that don't sparkles on the screen, or items that need something to be done to
reveal them, e.g. kicking a weak wall to reveal hidden item or item that can
only be revealed with the help of Hewie. Most of the hidden items will require
Hewie's help, so have Hewie with you all the time.
Items that will NOT be in this FAQ include items inside those red and yellow
pots (because they are too obvious), Special Items, Files and most of the
Equipments, whether they sparkles on the screen or not. So please do not email
me about items that doesn't concern with this FAQ. Also, I didn't write the
walkthrough for this game, so please do not bug me if you're stuck in the game.

04. Hints and Tips HITPS
===============================================================================
- To ask Hewie to search for hidden items, press up on the right analog stick
when you are not being chase by the stalker. Make sure you are facing the
direction that you want Hewie to search at. Remember to praise Hewie after it
reveals a hidden item.
- Sometimes, Hewie would search for hidden item on it's own. If it found
something, remember to praise it as well.
- Items that affect the percentage of item found are useable items that sparkle
on the screen, hidden items (All 60 of them, stated in this FAQ), Metal Boots
or its replacement (read Extra Magist Medallion for more info on replacement)
and Bisque Doll.
- Items that doesn't affect the percentage of item found are Special Items,
Files, Equipments (except Metal Boots), Drop Items from Stalkers, items found
or made in the Alchemy room and items that you can exchange from the
Sublimatum Container at the Water Tower.
- It is only possible to obtain 100% of item found if you play for Ending A.
Even on your first play.
- After defeating a stalker in a boss fight, you can locate hidden items
without worries as long as you don't trigger events for new stalker to chase
you around.

05. Hidden Items in Belli Castle BCAST
===============================================================================
Location: Castle Corridor
Item: Refined Antimony
This is the corridor where the second clock save is located. You can
also go to the Puppet Room, Kitchen and Restroom from here. Before
turning into the Restroom, check out the weak wall. Kick it a few
times to reveal the hidden item.

Location: Castle Suite
Item: Medallion
The Suite is the place where Finoa change her cloths and sleeps. Go
to the upper ground of the suite and ask Hewie to search around the
railing.

Location: Front Garden outside the Castle Suite
Item: Album Medallion
Refined Magnesia
Check the corner at the dead end outside the stable for the Album
Medallion. If you are lucky, you might see a rabbit.
For the Refined Magnesia, go back to the place where you first
started. There is a small area on the right side of the screen, which
is surrounded with low fences. Hewie will bark at it, so ask it to
search for items and Hewie will jump over the fence to search for the
hidden item.

Location: Training Ground
Item: Viola Medallion
Medallion
Get Hewie to attack one of the straw dummies to reveal a Viola
Medallion. For the Medallion, go near the door with rusted hinge.
Face the straw dummies and ask Hewie to look for it. It's located
along the side between the dummies and the door.

Location: Hall outside the Refinery Room
Item: Album Medallion
It's located at the southwest corner of the hall outside the Refinery
Room. Just go to the place where you encounter Debilitas for the
first time. Go to the top right corner (opposite corner from the
table) and ask Hewie to search for it.

Location: Castle Gate
Item: Medallion
Go over the bridge and ask Hewie to search around the castle gate. It
should be locate under one of the wall lamps (not the lamp posts).

Location: Garden behind the Refinery Room
Item: Rubrum Medallion
Ask Hewie to search the Southeast corner of the garden. It should be
located at the corner near the window. There is only 1 window in this
place, so you can't miss it.

Location: Dinning Hall
Item: Medallion
Located at the southeast corner. Directly opposite the door to the
Kitchen. Ask Hewie to search for it.

Location: Cellar
Item: Lavender
This is the place where you get the Castle Sketch. Ask Hewie to check
near the foot of the staircase.

Location: Courtyard outside the Music Room
Item: Refined Magnesia
There is a set of oil drum containers here. Go near it and Hewie will
bark at the broken part of the low wall. Face the low wall and ask
Hewie to check it out. Hewie will then jump over the low wall and get
the item for you.

Location: Rest Room
Item: Medallion
Go to the area where there are 3 doors and ask Hewie to search for
the item.

Location: Lounge
Item: Album Medallion
This is the room with the telephone. You first come to here via the
Puppet Room. Ask Hewie to search around the coat stand. It's a little
hard to see, but you can see its shadow on the floor. The coat stand
is located near the door to the Entrance Hall.

Item: Viride Medallion
Go up the staircase and turn left. Go to the dead end and ask Hewie
to look for the item.

Location: Nursery
Item: Refined Antimony
Ask Hewie to search around the rocking horse.

Location: Diorama Gallery
Item: Medallion
Camomile
Ask Hewie to check out the Spear decoration on the display (not on
the walls). You will get a Medallion. Then go downstairs and ask
Hewie to search the corner beside the Guest Room door for a Camomile.

Location: Courtyard outside the Gallery Room
Item: Antimony Powder
After the balcony has collapse, go down and ask Hewie to check the
Pillar near the door to Gallery room. (The pillar on the left.)

Location: Laundry Room
Item: Medallion
Medallion
Go through the door from the Gallery Room (the room with the moth
puzzle). Ask Hewie to search around the cupboard to reveal a
Medallion. It should be located at the Southeast corner of this room.
Don't forget to check out the sink for another Medallion. Even though
it can be found without Hewie's help, it doesn't sparkles at all. So
don't miss it.

Location: Courtyard outside the long hallway of holes
Item: Rubrum Medallion
Go to the courtyard where there is a hole that Hewie can hide in. Go
pass the wooden bridge and stand at the locked door, then face the
screen and ask Hewie to search for hidden items. It will move into
the bush and found a Rubrum Medallion.

Location: Outside Debilitas' Shed
Item: Rubrum Medallion
Ask Hewie to search the wall of Debilitas' Shed. It should be able to
find the item at a corner.

Location: Upper floor of the Music Room
Item: Refined Magnesia
Ask Hewie to search the corner of this room for the hidden item.

Location: Roof top above the Diorama Gallery
Item: Prima Magnesia
Go up to the roof where the suspension bridge is and ask Hewie to
search the glass panel ceiling. You can't get Hewie up here early on,
but you can do it after you unlock the door at the courtyard outside
the long hallway of holes.

06. Hidden Items in Old Mansion MASIO
===============================================================================
Location: Bridge Shaft (with a mirror)
Item: Album Medallion
This is the place where part of the floor will be lowered and act as
a bridge to cross over to the Graveyard. When you come here from the
corridor, go to the right side of the screen and ask Hewie to search
the bridge.
If you don't collect this item now, it will be gone once you solve
the Jupiter Room puzzle. Because it will disappear when the bridge is
lowered.

Location: Hallway with a Mummy

Go to the right side of the Mummy and ask Hewie to search for the
hidden item.

Ask Hewie to search around the toilet bowl for the hidden item.

Location: Red Light Passageway outside the Alcove
Item: Viride Medallion
Go to the passage where it branch to the left side of the screen and
ask Hewie to search the red light on the ground.

This is the room where the mansion's 2nd clock save is. You can also
get the Mansion Sketch here. Ask Hewie to search the area between the
door and the sofa.

Location: Room of the 3-Headed Dragon
Item: Rubrum Medallion
Ask Hewie to search around the bottom right from the fire/ice pillar.

Location: Graveyard
Item: Antimony Tube
Once you enter this place, ask Hewie to search at the tree in front
of the screen. Hewie will then jump up and do his job.

Location: Small Garden at the Graveyard
Item: Refined Magnesia
You can only reach here from the crypt. Ask Hewie to search around
the entrance to the staircase for the hidden item.

Item: Viola Medallion
After putting out the fire, go into the maze. Turn right twice, turn
left at the junction and then turn right at the next junction. Go
forward and stop at the corner. Ask Hewie to search around the corner
for the hidden item.
In case you didn't know, this is the RRLRR path that will lead to the
Library.

Location: Underwater Passage (Before the Library) *NEW* #####
Item: Medallion
Go to the other side of the underwater passage and stop right before
the stairs. Then ask Hewie to search around the stone floor for the
hidden item.

Location: Library (not the Study room above the 3-Head Dragon room)
Item: Antimony Tube
Go to the bookshelf that is full of books written by Furkanelli. Ask
Hewie to search the right side of that bookshelf for the hidden item.
It should be located at the Northeast of the Library.

Location: West Corridor
Item: Rubrum Medallion
Antimony Powder
This is the corridor after you pass through the Room with Impossible
Stairs. To find the Rubrum Medallion, go to the mirror around the
corner. Then face downward of the screen and ask Hewie to search for
the hidden item.
For the Antimony Powder, go upstairs and turn right into the room
with the Synthesizer, keep passing the cages until you see a clock
Ask Hewie to search the column beside the clock for the hidden item.

Location: Catwalk above the Library
Item: Rubrum Medallion
Go pass the clock and ask Hewie to search the dead end of the catwalk
for the hidden item. Don't forget to grab an item on the other side
of the catwalk, it's not hidden but it's block by the railing so you
can't see it very well.

Location: "Balance in the Corridor" Hallway

Go to the hallway where there is a pair of Scales in the center.
There is a Homunculus here too (if you kick him a few times, he will
punch back). South of the Scales and you can see a Microscope and a
Globe. The 3 medallions are hidden around these displays, so ask
Hewie to search around them.

Location: Ruined Hallway outside the Decomposer Room
Item: Prima Magnesia
Ask Hewie to search at the hallway. The hidden item should be located
at the middle of it.

Item: Album Medallion
Check out the vases beside the Decomposer for the hidden item. This
is another item that Fiona can obtain without Hewie's help.

Location: Artificial Womb
Item: Album Medallion
Go back to the place where you met Riccardo as your new stalker. Move
around until the screen shows the Extractor in the background. Then
ask Hewie to search the right side of the screen.

Location: Hallway outside the Purifier Room (Sealed Room)
Item: Medallion
The hidden item is located directly in front of the door. You can't
open this door without the help of Hewie.

Location: Hallway outside the Transmuter Room
Item: Refined Antimony
This is the hallway where a Homunculus is licking something on the
floor. Go to the door outside the Transmuter Room and ask Hewie to
search around the area.

Location: Long Hallway with many doors
Item: Viride Medallion
Go to the section where there is a Homunculus sitting on a chair. Ask
Hewie to search the area between the Homunculus and the door behind.

07. Hidden Items in Water Tower TERTO

Location: Prison Cell
Item: Viride Medallion
After you open the gate of the Prison Cell, ask Hewie to search
inside the cell for the item.

Let's assume that you enter the cave from the Prison Cell, ignore the
path on your left and keep going. There will be a rusted water pipe
nearby, give it a good kick to reveal the hidden item. There are a
total of 3 rusted water pipes here. So if you didn't find the Album
Medallion, try kicking the other pipes as well.

Go to the area where there is 4 pillars (directly in front of the
screen when you first enter this floor) and ask Hewie to search
around the pillar on the left.

Ask Hewie to search around the center of the tower's interior for the
item.

This is the area before the boss fight. Ask Hewie to search around
the center of the tower's interior for the item.

08. Hidden Items in House of Truth SEOTH

Location: West Garden
Item: Album Medallion
Go to the area where the explosives are placed. Ask Hewie to search
the corner on the right of the crates for the hidden items.

Item: Medallion
This is the place where you can obtain the Golden Candlestick. Ask
Hewie to search the floor at the top of the stairs.

Location: Corridor outside the Demolisher Room (Old Lorenzo's boss fight)
Item: Viola Medallion
Go to the area outside the room where you fight Old Lorenzo's boss
fight. Ask Hewie to search around the column right in front of that
door.

Location: Lorenzo's Room
Item: Rubrum Medallion
Viride Medallion
After you defeated the Old Lorenzo, pick up his key and go back up to
his room. Unlock the door with the Sol key and check out one of the
bookshelf for the Rubrum Medallion. You can also find some pretty
interesting info and the map for House of Truth here too.
Go further in and ask Hewie to search around the closet for the
Viride Medallion.

Go upstairs and ask Hewie to search the area on the left behind the
recovery point.

Go to the alcove (the place before Youth Lorenzo's boss fight) and
ask Hewie to search the dark area directly opposite the clock.

09. Stalker's Drop Items List GI2ME
===============================================================================
Do these item count as hidden item? Partly, because these items don't sparkles
at all. However, they do not contribute to the percentage of items found.
When a stalker gets knock out, he/she will either fall onto the ground lying
flat or just down on their knees. You can only grab items from them while they
are lying on the ground. Run to their body and search for the message "Huh?
What's this?" Then just press Circle button to grab the item.

Note: To make Daniella carry item set 2, go to the Truth room of the
Jupiter Room puzzle and check on her, this will trigger the
cutscene #57, "Armed and Dangerous" and she will arm with a fire
poker as well.
During her boss fight, she will carry item set 3 instead.
If you earn the Philosopher Earrings from Item set 1, you will
get a Magist Medallion from Item set 2 instead. You can also get
another Magist Medallion by using the Red Godstone on the
Sublimatum Container at the Water Tower.

Note: Riccardo will carry Item Set 2 in the Water Tower and Item Set 3
during his boss fight. They are the same as Item Set 1. But if
you earn the Silver Boots before, you will get a Magist

Note: If you earn Ruby Choker from Debilitas' Item Set 2 before, you
will get a Magist Medallion from the old Lorenzo instead. Also,
if you obtain the Philosopher Earrings from Daniella or the
Sublimatum Container at the Water Tower, you will get a Magist
Medallion as well.
Young Lorenzo does not drop items at all.

10. Sublimatum Container Item List SUBCO
===============================================================================
At the Water Tower, there is a Sublimatum Container which you can transform
Special Items into usable items and equipment. However, these items do not
count for the percentage of item found. Credits go to Mace63's for posting this

Note: If you earned the Philosopher Earrings from fighting Daniella. You
will get a Magist Medallion as a replacement when you use the Red
Godstone at the Sublimatum Container.
The Castle Gate Key only appears after beating the game once and you
can only obtain it by using the Smudged Key.
The Fresh Flowers will wither soon after you get to the Mansion, so
it's impossible to bring it to the Water Tower.
You can also solve the Balancing Scale puzzle by using the White
Godstone. After solving the puzzle, you can still transform it into
Red Godstone or choose not to do so.

11. Extra Magist Medallion EXMED
===============================================================================
In the regular game, there is only 1 Magist Medallion. 2 Magist Medallions, if
you count the hidden item as well. But what if you can obtain 10 more Magist
Medallions? Here's how you can get them.
The basic idea to obtain these extra Magist Medallions is very simple. First
you must obtain certain equipments from either by defeating the stalker, or
made at the Alchemy room. When you already obtain these equipments, the game
will replace the same equipments in the future with Magist Medallions.
For example, Debilitas will drop a Ruby Choker if you defeat him a few times.
But if you already obtain it before he drops one, Debilitas will give you a
Magist Medallion as a replacement instead. Lorenzo will drop a Ruby Choker as
well. But if you obtain it from Debilitas or somewhere else, he will drop a
Magist Medallion as a replacement too.
Other than replacing the equipment into Magist Medallions from the stalkers,
you can do it in the background as well. For example, you can replace the Metal
Boots at the Secret Chamber underneath the Castle Rest Room. Credits go to
mookeylama for posting the item replacement of the metal boots in Haunting

You can also replace the Philosopher Earrings from the Sublimatum Container at
the Water Tower too. These extra Magist Medallions doesn't count towards the
percentage of item found, except for the item replacement of the Metal Boots at
the Castle.
