Part 1: Differences between the NTSC/J, NTSC/U, PAL Versions of Gran Turismo 3
This FAQ covers the cars of PAL version. Between the three versions of the game,
(Japanese [NTSC/J], North American [NTSC/U] and European [PAL]), there are many
differences. These differences are: (only significant differences)

Vauxhall/Opel question
In the European (PAL) version there are both Vauxhall and Opel. If you play the
game in English, there is Vauxhall instead Opel.

Touring Car, save the game. If you don’t win the Opel Astra Touring Car at
the first time, load the game and repeat
10) Go to Gran Turismo World Championship (Professional League)
11) Save at the ninth race. Skip the last race. When you have the Opel
Calibra Touring Car, save the game. If you don’t win the Opel Calibra
Touring Car at the first time, load the game and repeat
12) Buy an Opel Speedster and save
13) Use the Trade feature to obtain the Opels in the English save game
Alternative method:
1) Start Gran Turismo 3 with a second memory card
2) Choose a non-English language (for example Spanish)
3) Save
4) With a Gran Turismo Concept save game with the Bonus 3 unlocked, use this
to add Cr. and Licenses
5) Use the Trade feature to buy a Polyphony 001 or Polyphony 002 or buy a
great Race Car, upgrade to max, buy Super Hard tires and change the oil.
Changing the oil, you have a temporary increment of 5%HP
6) Go to Deutsche Tourenwagen Challenge (Amateur League)
7) Save at the ninth race. Skip the last race. When you have the Opel Astra
Touring Car, save the game. If you don’t win the Opel Astra Touring Car at
the first time, load the game and repeat
