Welcome to another one of my FAQ's. As usual, I don't say a word about the game
in the Introduction. I won't update the FAQ section not anymore after I release
the complete version. But everybody can send me tips and questions. If they are
big enough, I might consider updating it despite that.
[1] [Q]. What are those numbers like [A300] next to the title of every section?
[A] It is the search engine of this FAQ. Press Ctrl and F. Type in the
search code for the section you want to go to. You should be there in
two steps.

Analog controller (Dual shock 2) - Analog mode:

Direction buttons: move in menus
Left joystick: steer
Right joystick: gas (push to the front) and brake (push to the back)
X: Confirm, slow down or restart engine.
Square: brake
Triangle: back and other camera
L1: Coupling
L2: change gear
R1: look behind

Start: Pause
Select: Pit stop

DRIVING AIDS: toggle them on or off
MPH: km per hour or miles per hour

Screen adjust place driver: mark the driver you want to the replace and choose

4.1- Extra Disk [A401]

On this extra disk you'll find official footage from FIA Formula 1 2000 World
Championship. It's a collection of the best pictures of the entire race. You
can choose from all the Grand Prix and then you can choose Interactive and
Continuous (pictures shown with breaks or without)

For a better review of Formula One 2001, you just have to look at
www.gamefaqs.com where I posted my better review of the game. It isn't perfect
but it is decent.

I give Formula One 2001 (the game from Sony) an 8/10 because I think that the
game has only one downside but it's a mayor one: the controls aren't good.
If you start the game without changing anything (or don't read the manual: this
is something what many people do) you'll start the engine at the first red
stoplight like the profs, you'll start and what happens then: a restart or
worse. Now, you figured that out, you accidentally crash against the wall
(nothing serious, it could also happen to you) and you want to ride backwards,
you won't find the right button. The first time was when I was playing it with
my nephew and we both crash, after ten minutes we discovered that you have to
press L1 and push the left analogue stick backwards.
The graphics are very decent and equal the frame rate from such games as F1
2001 (the EA version). But it the graphics can still be better. Games as Gran
Turismo 3 and 'Le Mans 24 hours' have way better graphics but I think that
their Formula One 2002 will have better graphics. This game isn't that original
but it was the first good race-game on the PlayStation 2, the dream machine.
Like in games as Metal Gear Solid 2: the Sons of Liberty and Final Fantasy X
(the European version) there is an extra disc. This disc contains real video
footage from BBC with the original commentary of every race including the Grand
Prix of Belgium. As extra this can count but I've they had added an arcade
mode, the game would be even better.
The sounds in the game are really life like: the sound of the engine of every
brand is different and resembles the real thing. The commenter doesn't tell
only about you, he tacks about who as car problems, who's at the lead and such
things. The game as all the tracks and drivers, so if you're a real F1 fan,
you'll have lots and lots of fun with this game. The game has high difficulty
with his 'bad' controls but for the rest there is nothing-serious wrong with
it.

This is a tip for everyone. If you want to change the car engine settings from
the car, you'd better go to the car engine FAQ with F1 2001 from EA. The
settings for the motor are exactly the same or look at page 13 of the
instruction manual. I don't explain it because I don't know anything about it.
