This is my sixth game guide!

They're prickly... they're full of thorns... they're so energetic... they're the
Cactuars! Have you managed to catch all of the Cactuars back in Final Fantasy X
at the Bikanel Desert? Well, now our elusive friends are no longer content with
the boring yellow sand. They've travelled all over Spira in seach of their true
identity.

Find them and catch them! Ooops! They will not surrender their flag that easily
now. You have to fight and tame them before they will agree to return to their
home! Your good lookin', cutey face will not work for them this time.

This guide will help you locate all the 10 Gatekeepers throughout Spira. Let's
find out what each of them have learned in their journey. This is a 'must' to
achieve Episode Complete in the Bikanel Desert...

Happy gaming!

_________________________________________________________________________________

                            - Cactuar Search -

We got a request from Marnela of the Cactuar
Nation. She wants us to find ten cactuars.
They've run off all over Spira.

                            =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
                             Mission Time!!!
                            =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The Ten Gatekeepers have ventured into the
world proper to train. Round them up and
bring them home to the Cactuar Nation! Think
you can unravel the Cactuar Mother's clues
                           and sniff them out?

                    Objective: Find the Ten Gatekeepers.

2.2 - Cactuars Locations
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

---------
LOBIVIA
---------

Mother's Clue: "I am Lobivia's mother.
"Lobivia was supposed to head north from the Oasis with his friends."
"But I haven't heard a thing from him since."
"Oh, I suppose Lobivia's always had a bit of wanderlust."
"He's probably off wasting time in some good-for-nothing place
                    this very moment."
              "Call it motherly instinct."

Location     : The one, and ever beautiful Oasis of Bikanel!

---------
TOUMEYA
---------

Mother's Clue: "She says she's Toumeya's mother."
"Toumeya always dreamed of seeing waters vaster than our little
Oasis. And now he's finally getting his wish."
"Sands whiter than the desert, a gentle breeze, glistening
sunlight... and more water than can be imagined."
"I can't wait to hear the tales he'll have to tell."

Location     : A place wit hlots of water. Where could it be. Maybe he's in
Macalania Lake... oops we can't go there in this game. How about
in Moonflow? He's not here. Besaid? In the water falls... lots
of water! Not here, either. Where could he be? Oh... sands. There
is only one place with white sand... BESAID BEACH. you'll him
              sunbathing there!

---------
LOBEIRA
---------

Mother's Clue: "According to his mother, Lobeira loves getting into cramped
                    spaces."
"He left with only one thing in mind: finding the most
                    comfortable box in existence."
"He finally found a monst splendid treasure chest in the home of
                    a sphere hunter."
"How long it's been since I heard from him, I can hardly say..."
               "Oh, my careless little Lobeira."
"I've told you a thousand times to be careful of boxes with locks
                    on them."

Location     : "Home of a sphere hunter" eh? That's easy! Yuna's from Besaid. On
to Besaid! ... Looked at each house... the temple... the cave...
he's not here! "Home of a sphere hunter"... the Celsius! No clue
here. We can't access the Al Bhed home either. Any idea? I got
it. Isn't it, Leblanc's Syndycate a sphere hunter? Yeah! On to
Guadosalam! Go to the Hidden Passage and check one of the rooms
here. You'll find him in a treasure chest.

--------------
AREQ & ARROJA
--------------

Mother's Clue: "I am the mother of those inseparable brothers, Areq & Arroja."
"Areq & Arroja love being together."
"It seems they met some large yellow birds on a wide, open plain."
"Arroja is having such a good time he said he's put off seeing
                   snow, whatever that is."

Location     : Large yellow bird... a Chocobo? Mi'ihen! Nope. It's a large open
plain. Only the Calm Land fits in that description. I looked at
every corner, evey area of Calm Land, but I can't find him! Snow?
Maybe the peak of Gagazet... it's quite wide, anyway. Not here?
Hmmm... wide, open plain... with snow... walk, walk, walk... go
to the area between Calm Land and Mt. Gagazet. You'll see these
brothers riding a Chocobo... how sweet!

--------
ISLAYA
--------

Mother's Clue: "I am the mother of Islaya the sage."
"I am oft called the wise Mother."
"Islaya embarked to follow in the footsteps of our cactuar
forebears who left the desert in ages past."
"Islaya, my sage son, have you found the Cactuar Stones they
                    left so long ago?
"Try, not to get burned to a crisp, and take good care of
                    yourself."

Location     : "Burn"... by fire... Kilika... no ,no ,no... Thunder Plains'
Thunder! To easily find him, start from Macalania Woods and exit
to the south. You'll be in Thunder Plains near the waiting shed.
Go a little east and you'll see him near a cactuar stone.

--------
CHIAPA
--------

Mother's Clue: "I am Chiapa's mother."
"Little Chiapa is doing just fine. I'll let him be a little
                    while longer."
"Be a dear & leave him alone just a touch more, would you?"

Location     : Got the clue? He, he. From Besaid Island to Zanarkand Ruins...
You can NEVER find him. Benzo's translation is wrong. What the
mother cactus is saying is "LEAVE CHIAPA ALONE!"

               Seriously, that's all for now.

Chapter 5: Bikanel Desert
________________________________________________________________________________

                            =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
                             Mission Time!!!
                            =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The Ten Gatekeepers have ventured into the
world proper to train. Round them up and
bring them home to the Cactuar Nation! Think
you can unravel the Cactuar Mother's clues
                           and sniff them out?

                    Objective: Find the Ten Gatekeepers.
________________________________________________________________________________

Mother's Clue: "I am Chiapa's mother."
"He says he's going to meet up with some friends."
"The meeting point? It's some secret place high, high, high up-
somewhere he can take in town and the woods."

Location     : "High, high, high up". This is very easy. Mt. Gagazet... (-_-)
Sorry, he's not there. Don't forget the word "secret" and
"town and the woods". Woods... Kilika Woods... Town... Kilika
Town... but where? There's no high place in Kilika! Not so fast!
From Kilika Town... go pass the bridge in the woods, then turn to
right. While walking... you'll find a tree lying over the water.
Press O and you'll climb it...

------
ERIO
------

Mother's Clue: "I've gotten word from Erio."
"His message read: Two brothers, my friends, to a spring went we,
I get to see snow... what rhymes with we?"
"He may never listen to his parents, but I can't help but love
                    my sweet little Erio."

Location     : Now, I'm 100% sure. He's in Gagazet. See the clue? Two brothers...
spring... snow. He's not in the hot spring!!! You missed the
word "went". That means they were there before. Where is he now?
From the top, go down the mountain until you reach Mt. Gagazet -
Prominence (just go to the menu and you'll know if you're there).
It's the place south of the area with pillars. You'll see him
sitting in the snow near the cliff.

-------------
BARTSCHALLA
-------------

Mother's Clue: "I am Bartschalla's mother."
               "My daughter simply adores money."
"She left the desert in search of a 'man of means' - whatever
                    that is."
"It turns out our 'man of means' isn't quite what you'd expect,
hoho! Managed to save up quite a bundle."
"Turns out it's a former summoner!"
               "Don't get caught green-handed, Bartschalla!"

Location     : 'Man of means'... 'Former summoner'... Isaaru! On the way to
Zanarkand! Unfortunately it's not our 'man of means' :( Let's
go visit Dona in Kilika... see? She's at the base of the stairs
in Dona's house... I think our 'man of means' is not always a
               man.

---------
FRAILEA
---------

Mother's Clue: "I hate to admit, but my Frailea can be a bit of a handful."
"He's really a very nice boy who just wants to be around
                   friends."
"But he always seems to be falling in with the wrong crowd."
"I'm worried he may not even be travelling at all."

Location     : Talk to Marnela... <SPOLERS!>

close? Use the help of the nine gatekeepers
you've already tracked down to bring
                               that rascal home!

                                   GREAT NEWS!!!

Contrary to popular belief, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BEAT ALL THESE PESKY
CACTUARS in order to get the 'Covenant of Growth Garment Grid',
which will give you double EXP and AP...

I'm pretty sure! I tried it and it really works! All you need is to
beat the last gatekeeper, Frailea and you'll receive the Garment
Grid. I have beaten ONLY Lobivia and Bartschella before I decided to
take down Frailea, so this note is pretty reliable. Don't worry,
Frailea is very easy to beat. Just take a closer look at the mouth
and know the rhythm and you'll be all right.

If you did not get him in the first try, you can still visit all 10
Gatekeepers at the Cactuar Nation once you beat Angra Mainyu.

3.2 - Cact-War Tip
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

1. Look at Yuna, her head moves from left to right. She's following the movement
of the target. Shoot just before she looks to the right. Using this strategy,
you don't even have to look at the Cactuar. This is the strategy I use. However,
in the fight against Frailea, this will not work because the Cactuar is accompanied
  by 2 other Cactuars.

2. If you love "Bust-a-Groove" or "Dance Revolution", you'll be fine with just
learning the rhythm and start shooting when you got the timing.

3. Once you hit the Cactuar, repeatedly press X until you tear them down. This
will, usually, finish them off with the least effort... especially for those
with very low agility. If it did not work, reset the game and try again. I saw
this tip on the board. Pretty useful for those Cactuars with very low Agility.
