I dedicate this to anyone who has fallen in love with the EA BIG games.
Also, this is dedicated to the deceased of Run DMC for the great song that
is sampled throughout this game.
Also, for Cougar, Howler, and Koonce. I miss you, and I hope you are living
it up in the afterlife as you did in this world. You will always be in my
memories, and you will never be forgotten.

--------------------------------Introduction--------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) SSX Tricky is the follow up to the smash hit of SSX. Although this game
is a sequel, it can not be considered a completely new game that can
stand on it's own. Many of the same levels return, as do many of the
original characters. However, the changes to the old courses do make
them a fun, new ride. The new characters are just as crazy as the
original characters. The speed of the first game still exists, and EA
BIG added one more thing to make the game a great gaming experience...
UBER TRICKS! So, grab your favourite board, put on your favourite
outfit, and get ready to enter season two on the SSX tour!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------General Controls-------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) This section will look at the general controls that each boarder has.
ANALOG Stick: Controls which direction your boarder moves. It also causes
your boarder to twist and flip in the air once the X Button
has been toggled.
C Stick : Whichever direction is pushed is the direction that your
player will shove. If you are successful in hitting an
opponent square, they will fall down and your adrenaline meter
will completely fill to Tricky Status.
D-Pad : When a player is crouched to jump, hold a direction to
pre-wind the jump to cause your boarder to spin/flip that way.
The longer you pre-wind, the faster your boarder will
spin/flip around.
START : Brings up menu while playing.
L Button : One of the grab Buttons.
R Button : One of the grab Buttons.
Z Button : One of the grab Buttons.
X Button : When toggled, your ANALOG Stick controls the flips and spins
of your boarder.
Y Button : Causes your boarder to warp back into the middle of the main
path.
B Button : While going down the hill, this will cause your player to use
their Adrenaline Meter to go faster. While in the air, this
will tweak grabs to make them into slightly modified versions
of the regular grab performed on the Button combos.
A Button : When held, it will crouch your rider in the ready position for
a jump. The longer it is held, the higher the jump.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------Characters-------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) This section will give a bio on each character. It will also give the
stats of each character (their stats without any upgrades from boards).
The final paragraph of each character will be a personal view on the pros
and cons of each character, so if I knock someone you like, don;t take it
personally.

Brodi is the calm, cool dude of the tour who does not get rattled by others.
He is one of the two Alpiners on the tour, and so he is one of the two SSX
characters who are incapable of riding switch style (the Alpine board does
not allow it). Brodi has high Edging (good turns), Speed (fast), and
Stability (great balance, but pays for all of this with a truly awful Trick
rating. Brodi is a character that an experienced player should use as he is
one of the hardest characters to master.

Eddie is one of the four original characters available, and he is an
excellent choice for beginners. He has no actual enemies when he begins his
game (only friends and neutrals). This makes racing quite a bit easier as
most opponents will not attack you, and it will also give you some leeway in
shoving other racers for a quick turbo boost without incurring the wrath of
the victim. Eddie also has a good mix of short and long Ubers which is
important when trying for a high score in Showoff mode. His rounded stats
make him excel in all categories of Super Snowboard Cross. Try to use Eddie
when you start playing, as it will give you the best introduction to all
aspects of the game.

Elise is another boarder that you start the game with, and she too is an
excellent choice for a beginner as she has excellent speed, combined with
well round stats, and she uses the middle of the road BX board (good combo
of the tick and speed). She also as fast Ubers that are worth some decent
points, so she will not let you down in Showoff. Definitely a great pick,
so take this Canadian girl for a ride... errr... That is not what I meant!

JP is one cocky rider. He can back up though when it comes to breaking out
the sweet combos and tricks (especially his own Uber, the Breakdance De
Poseur!). JP also has lots of money, which cause him to put people off.
This means that he has few friends, and more people not liking him, or
leaning towards it. A Good character to use as he has fast, slow, and mid
ranged Uber speeds, so he is great for Show Off contest as he can fit in an
Uber to go with the time in the air for each jump.

Kaori is a small little slip of a thing, but do that let that influence your
decision. Kaori is a girl that does not take any crap, although she tends
to be somewhat of a quiet one. She does well with Tricks, but suffers a bit
in other categories because of it. Her Ubers tend to be a little short, but
she lacks a truly long one for scoring high purposes. Kaori should not be
your first pick, but she is fun to use because of the high energy shouts this
Japan pop junky utters! Also, her video for a promotion in skill is a worthy
enough reason to take her to the slopes!

Luther is one disgusting fellow. He often turns most people away based on
his posture, his size, and his bad attitude. However, he proves invaluable
in close races as he is near impossible to knock over due to his high
Stability stat. He is somewhat slow, does Tricks slowly, but his edging is
decent. His specialized Uber is truly one to behold when he straddles the
snowboard like he does. Luther is a bad man, but it is that very attitude
that just might help you pull out some victories!

A Boarder who is quite into the DJ scene, and is not afraid to let his
opinions be heard. Though small in stature, he makes up for it in tenacity.
One of the four originally available boarders, Mac is a trick master as his
stat in this area is among the highest. However, for this strength, Mac is
below average in Edging and is just average in Speed and Stability (meaning
his turns are poor with average abilities in the other two). However, this
makes him a great Show-Off choice, especially when he bust out his Walk The
Dog Air to bury the competition!

This fun loving, vibrant party girl is an unusual member of a cast that
has more street smarts to their personalities. However, when JP got her
into the sport of SSX, she took such a liking to it that she does not mind
the scrapes and bruises it brings. One of two Alpine boarders, she is not
for beginners to use. She has below average or average stats in Tricks,
Stability, and Edging, but she is a goddess when it comes to Speed. Made for
racing, she is not Show-Off person, but even you will be amazed by her great
Ubers!

This loud English bloke is not afraid to let the world know he is the best,
and he has the skills to back it up. Although he does not excel in any one
area, he is average or slightly above average in each stat area. This means
that the bad man from Britain is a "solid choice" (as Mac would say) for any
play mode. When he busts out his eye-popping Ubers, you will agree that
Moby is one of the boarders you will like to call upon to play with!

Psymon is a man of few friends (really, he might have but one), and this
might be explained by the fact that he is so odd. He never wears goggles
and often goes without a shirt while racing, which he attributes to a
Mountain Biking accident (he crashed into some power lines). A well-rounded
character makes him an excellent choice for any level of player. Although
not well loved by the opposition, Psymon is often a favourite among many
players (including myself) for his outlandish style and his Guillotine Uber!

The Soul Sister of the Slopes, Seeiah is a woman who does not hold back her
opinion on any subject (ask her about Luther to hear some real hatred).
Seeiah has average Edging and Speed, but she has an insanely low score in
Stability (only 30!!!). What this does mean is that she just flies through
her tricks with ease because of her insanely high Trick stat (40!!!). A
better choice for the more experienced player, Seeiah is a great player
Show-Off and a good player for races.

This bad attitude girl takes nothing from nobody (except a few teeth!).
She is a free spirit who fully believes in her own strengths. Zoe enters
the competition as a well-rounded character, making her an excellent choice
for a beginner. Zoe has some nice Ubers to go with her well-rounded skills,
making a Race and a Show-Off for her equally easy.

5) All boards are unlocked by winning medals on World Circuit (except the
Uberboards), and this section will list the stats for every board in the
game. Each board will list Name, Board Type, and Stats for each board.
The first two boards are default boards for your SSX boarder, but each
following one is earned through rank advancement (with exception of Uber
Board, which is achieved through Trick Book Completion).

-------------------------------------Ubers----------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
6) This section will list all the Ubers that each character can perform,
based on each type of board each rider can use (Alpine, Freestyle, and
BX). Keep in mind these tricks can only be accomplished while the
Adrenaline Meter is at full capacity or Tricky Capacity as it is called.
Also remember that the Fifth Uber on a person's specific board type will
be unique to that rider only.

achieved).
-Single Event allows the player to choose between (once they have picked
their boarder) Race (Amateur, Semi Pro, and Pro ratings), Show-Off, and
Time Challenge (start with full Adrenaline Meter and you will try to get
down the hill in record time without other racers to annoy you).
-World Circuit allows the player to choose between (once they have picked
their boarder) Show-Off and Race, which can help your boarder improve their
stats in Edging, Speed, Stability, and Tricks.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
8) This section will look at some strategies for both the Race and Show Off
modes.
o------------------o
Racing Shortcuts
o------------------o
a) The first shortcut is to be found to the right of the huge drop near the
beginning of the course. Instead of staying on the ice path leading to
the huge drop, look for a set of yellow blockers, which you should cut
between. You will then head down the snow path while sticking to the
right side of the path to get on a wire. Ride this wire until it ends on
a huge rock spire, where you should jump off of it to land in a snowy
path. Take that path to the right to enter the regular path with a quick
lead on the competition.
b) If you decide to go off the huge drop near the beginning, cut right to
break through a Blue SSX sign to go down the same snow path mentioned
in a) (this time you have to go along the whole path instead of the last
bit like a)).
c) After going through the icy half-pipe section to jump off of the second
jump on the main trail, you will start down the hill towards the third
jump. However, instead of taking the jump, go to the right side of the
path to find a Blue SSX Sign, which when busted through will take your
Boarder into a deep snow area (ungroomed trail). Make sure to keep your
adrenaline up so you can boost through much of the deep snow (do tricks
off swells in the path) so you will distance yourself from the
competition.
d) When you reach the split in the path, choose a side. After you have been
on the path for a couple of seconds, cut towards the other path to find a
Blue SSX Sign for your Boarder to break. After crashing through the
sign, you just need to avoid rocks, trees, and grandstand poles so you
can right down the mountain instead of weaving like the other racers.
e) If you take the path on the right at the path split, you should continue
past the d) shortcut. You will see a Blue SSX Sign on the right for your
Boarder to crash through to find another ungroomed path of Garibaldi that
is a shorter path through the race.
f) If you took shortcut e), you will have two options for shortcuts (this
one and the next one). This one is sticking to the left side of the
ungroomed path until a Blue SSX Sign appears for your boarder to bust
through to enter an ice tunnel. This will deposit your boarder back on
the main path where a quick turn to the left will find another Blue SSX
Sign to be busted through to board to an area with a river.
g) If you choose to ignore the previous shortcut, continue down the
ungroomed trail to come to the river mentioned above where your character
will need to jump across it to come out to the same area as f).
h) After going through the first track split by rock walls, cut across the
hill ahead instead of going around on the main path. Aim for the tower
in the distance (and then pass it on the left) so the game does not warp
you back to the main path (losing you ground in the process).
i) Continue down the path from the landing point of h) to see a right turn
curving ahead. Instead of following the path, go straight off the
embankment here to cut a load of time off your run.
j) When you are approaching the second track split by rock walls, go into
the small dip in the path through a Blue SSX Sign to jump onto an ice
path. Ride it till it runs out and you will get a slight jump on the
competition.
o---------------------o
Show-Off Snowflakes
o---------------------o
a) By taking the rail through the yellow blocks, you can ride down the wire
to hit a Yellow Snowflake with a fast Uber.
b) If you go on the regular path, head through the ice half pipe to come out
looking at two jumps. The right one has a Yellow Snowflake, the left one
an Orange Snowflake.
c) When you come to the split jump hill, go up the right side to find a
small ramp which leads to an Orange Snowflake. The left side has a
Yellow Snowflake.
d) Go down to launch off the next jump while NOT BOOSTING (important for
next Snowflake) to hit a Yellow Snowflake.
e) After landing from d), cut right to bust through a Red SSX Sign to find a
red and white rail. Ride the rail until it runs out, which will send
your character careening through a Red Snowflake.
f) When you land from e), go right to enter the main path once more. As you
pass through the checkpoint, immediately slow your speed and start going
to the left side of the track to find a pipe that will wind way out into
space to launch your character through another Red Snowflake (often with
enough time for two Ubers).
g) When you land from f), cut right to get on a thin wire, which will take
your boarder through an Orange Snowflake before ending with them able to
do a fast Uber off of a billboard.
h) Head around the curve on the left to see the split in the path, where
the jumps lead to Yellow Snowflakes and some red and white pipes.
However, aim for the pipe in between the two jump which you should boost
off of to pass through the Orange Snowflake, followed by landing on the
red and white pipe. Ride that pipe until it runs out, where your boarder
will pass through another Orange Snowflake.
i) Use the criss-cross jumps to get either Yellow Snowflakes or Orange
Snowflakes.
j) If you are coming down the slightly bumpy snow path to the icy path, do
an Uber off a bump. Then you just need to backtrack up the hill a bit to
build speed for the jump ahead to get the Yellow Snowflake. If you are
coming down the ice path, just use the jump for the Yellow Snowflake.
k) If you have landed on the red and white pipe, ride it to get the Orange
Snowflake when you jump off. If you are on the ground, go left or right
to get a Yellow Snowflake.
l) Go down the hill to see the path turn to ice, and then you need to get on
a rail to the left to get a Yellow Snowflake, or use the jump on the
right to get an Orange Snowflake.
m) Try to jump onto the top of the rock walls in the split path section so
you can get the Red Snowflakes on the rails.
n) Instead of using the simple to get at rails in the centre of the path, go
right to ride a red and white pipe up a hill. Grab the Orange Snowflake
while riding the pipe.
o) Launch off of the narrow jump to get a Yellow Snowflake (the drop is
ideal for 2 or even 3 Ubers!).
p) Continue down the hill to use either jump, both containing a Yellow
Snowflake.
q) Try to jump onto the top of the rock walls in the split path section so
you can get the Red Snowflakes on the rails.
r) Enter the final jump to see a Yellow Snowflake low and a Red Snowflake
high. To get the Red Snowflake, DO NOT BOOST so your character will jump
higher while getting less distance.

9) This section will look at some strategies for both the Race and Show Off
modes.
o------------------o
Racing Shortcuts
o------------------o
a) At the start, go through the yellow blockers to find a rail that will
help you to get a quick head start.
b) After this, a Blue SSX Sign on the left of the main path which leads to a
rail. If you stay on this rail the whole way, you will end up riding on
the thin, yellow fence divider used in many of the courses.
c) When you reach the part where the path splits into a slalom section,
break the Blue SSX Sign in between these two paths to get on a rail. If
you ride it the whole way through, you can jump off the snow maker at the
end of it.
d) Right after this will be a jump that you can go off of to the left to
break through a Blue SSX Sign. Now you will have the choice of going
right to go across an ice path to start a slide on a fence to land on the
main path, or you can head left across a bridge to jump onto the roof of
a building ahead before ending up on the main path. The right path is
less of a lead builder, but it is much easier than the left path.
e) You can jump a fence to the right side of the main path to enter a new
ice path. Boost down the hill and jump the main track, followed by
criss-crossng the main path periodically with small jumps.
f) When you are about to enter the last curve before the last bridge to the
finish, go to the right side of the track to find a rail that will take
your boarder into the stands as it winds forward. You will need to boost
the whole way on the rail to make it be a shortcut.
o---------------------o
Show-Off Snowflakes
o---------------------o
a) Go onto either rail to the left or right side of the track at the start
to find a Yellow Snowflake.
b) If you took the right pipe, you will get another Yellow Snowflake when
you leave your grind behind.
c) The jumps around the next corner also have one Yellow Snowflake each.
d) If you can get on the left fence to grind, you can get an Orange
Snowflake.
e) Immediately following the above, a jump in the path goes through an
Orange Snowflake.
f) The next jump in the path (just after a red and white rail) will launch
your boarder over a bank with a fence on it where an Orange Snowflake
silently hovers.
g) If you went after f), you will likely miss this Yellow Snowflake a little
further down the path off of a jump.
h) A set of red mad white pipes or a well-aimed launch off of a narrow jump
on the right will carry your boarder through a Yellow Snowflake.
i) Following that is a jump that has both a Yellow Snowflake and an Orange
Snowflake available to be grabbed.
j) To the right of the i), a rail set leads to an Orange Snowflake along a
billboard.
k) The big straightaway that has many rails and hills has four Yellow
Snowflakes, two Orange Snowflakes and a Red Snowflake available to your
boarder.
l) Go through the Blue SSX Sign that splits the paths to get a Yellow
Snowflake, followed by an Orange Snowflake on a pipe. If you jump
straight and far off of said pipe, you might get the Red Snowflake at the
end of a fence rail possibility.
m) After going through the checkpoint, go right to find a jump that will
have a Yellow Snowflake and an Orange Snowflake.
n) Go to the ice path ahead to use a small jump to reach a Yellow Snowflake.
o) Continue down the path to launch over the main path to get a Yellow
Snowflake or Orange Snowflake. Continue to jump across the main path for
one more Yellow Snowflake, and then cut back onto the main path.
p) This sets up a jump for a possible Yellow Snowflake or Red Snowflake.
q) After passing through the curvy section of the course, head down the
middle path (fences on both sides) to launch off of a jump for a shot at
an Orange Snowflake or a Red Snowflake. You could also take a side path
to use the red and white rails there to get a Yellow Snowflake (one per
side).
r) Go down the hill and around a corner to find a small jump that leads to a
Yellow Snowflake.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
10)This section will look at some strategies for both the Race and Show Off
modes.
o------------------o
Racing Shortcuts
o------------------o
a) Right at the start you should head left to find a Red SSX Sign, which
leads your boarder through a bunch of different rails and billboards
before depositing you back on the main path.
b) On the right from the start is a Blue SSX Sign that leads under the
grandstands, followed by passing through an ungroomed area before joining
the main path.
c) When you go off of the second jump on the main path, there will be a rail
waiting on the start of the down slope. It leads through a few
differently-angles rails before depositing your rider back on the main
path.
d) On the right just after c) you will see a path leading up, so get on the
rail to fly up the hill before jumping across some ice ledges. If you
get to the very end, you will get to take a huge jump to the main path.
e) If you have passed up d), you will see some SSX Signs along the main path
that jump over the rocks that make the path curve normally. This is a
great way to cut time, but be sure to not his poles of the sign s while
jumping.
f) After you go through the section with the elevated centre, cut left to go
through a Red SSX Sign. This will take you through a narrow path that
you should stay left once you exit to break another SSX Sign. You will
then go to an ice path where your boarder can jump the main path far
below by using trees as rails to get to the next section (usually
elevated). You will eventually have to rejoin the main path, but it will
be by the checkpoint with a MASSIVE lead built up on the competition.
g) You can use some trees along the main icy path to launch up into the set
of jumps listed in f).
h) After you go down the huge drop near the checkpoint, a red SSX Sign
beckons up on the bank of a curve. Go through it to find a straight path
leading back to the main path. However, if you jump across the main
path, you can enter an ice tunnel that will carry your boarder down to
the half pipe section of the level.
i) There are wires on either side of the half pipe can be railed to avoid the
half pipe, and this great for avoiding the glass barriers in the half pipe.
j) If you jump just to the right or the left of the Loops, you can often
land and bypass the Loops completely. However, jump to far too the side,
and the game will warp you back into the middle of a Loop.
o---------------------o
Show-Off Snowflakes
o---------------------o
a) Right at the start you have two jumps, each leading to a Yellow
Snowflake, or a red and white pipe that is angled up to launch your
boarder to an Orange Snowflake.
b) The second set of jumps all have a Yellow Snowflake waiting to be
plucked.
c) The next jump has an Orange Snowflake.
d) If you go onto the wire by the third jump, you can ride to an Orange
Snowflake.
e) A Yellow Snowflake is at the end of a pipe (get on between third and
fourth jump), but it can be grabbed off of fourth jump as well.
f) If you go up the rail on the uphill, you can get both a Yellow Snowflake
and a Red Snowflake from the various rails in the set of them.
g) Going on the main path will yield Yellow Snowflakes by busting through
the SSX Signs.
h) After you pass through a checkpoint, a wide open section will have many
jumps, rails, and bumps for your boarder to use to get two Yellow
Snowflakes, two Orange Snowflakes, and a Red Snowflake.
i) The tunnel ahead has two Yellow Snowflakes (one per rail).
j) The Red SSX Sign on the left leads to a series of jumps over the main
path that have many of each type of Snowflake available (recommended path
to take).
k) Main path leads through an icy section where rails leads to many Yellow
Snowflakes, some Orange Snowflakes, and two Red Snowflake (this comes
very early on icy path, one later, but both are from rail sets).
l) The jump at the end of the ice path leads to a Yellow Snowflake, followed
by another off of a tree you can grind.
m) The jump from this section leads to a long drop where a Yellow Snowflake
and an Orange Snowflake await pick-up.
n) Where the next jump sign is, go off the middle of the jump to get a
Yellow Snowflake.
o) After this, go jump over the Psymon billboard ahead to get an Orange
Snowflake.
p) The Half pipe contains many Snowflakes of all colours, so try to get as
many as you can while you move forward through the pipe. Remember to not
linger too long or you will run out of time.
q) After the Loops, one Yellow Snowflake can be grabbed off the top of the
next (and last) hill.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

11)This section will look at some strategies for both the Race and Show Off
modes.
o------------------o
Racing Shortcuts
o------------------o
a) If you can manage it by jumping from the second hump in the path, you can
reach the rock ledge above. Here you have two choices for paths: you can
go straight to come back onto the main path, or you can go right of the
path to climb a ramp that will put your boarder on a passage through a
tree-filled area.
b) A rail will lead over a hill after you jump the river. This rail will
save you a second or two.
c) On the second jump after the shortcut listed above, stick to the right
side to pass through a Blue SSX Sign to go up a rock bridge over the main
path to enter the mines (first entrance).
d) Another Blue SSX Sign not too far past the last one will lead up a wire
onto some raised railroad tracks.
e) If you skip the above shortcut, you can go right of a wooden stand to
break through a boarded up entrance to join the rails in the mines.
f) When you have crossed the wooden bridge by the waterfalls or you have
exited the end of the mines, you will see a large frozen river in a deep
trench. Instead of jumping the trench, go into it and head left to get a
shortcut on the opposition.
g) When you hit the snow coming out of the river, use the small bump before
you fall back to the track to instead jump through the Red SSX Sign to
enter a tunnel. If you can keep your speed up as the tunnel curves, you
can jump across the main path through another Red SSX Sign to enter
another tunnel. This one will carry your boarder to a point much farther
down the main path (HUGE shortcut if you pull it off).
h) When you see the path split with rails lining both sides of the track,
simply get on the rails and boost like crazy to fly through this section.
i) After getting off your rail, head up the small embankment to your right
to go between a small fissure in the rocks to go straight towards the
final jump to the finish line.
o---------------------o
Show-Off Snowflakes
o---------------------o
a) Go straight form the start and jump off the first jump to get a Yellow
Snowflake.
b) If you choose the rails instead of a), an Orange Snowflake awaits on the
rail. Continue along (ignoring the Red SSX Sign) to find a Red
Snowflake as your boarder rejoins the path.
c) Take the red and white pipe around a few corner to get a Yellow
Snowflake, and jump off of the pipe before it turns to have a shot at an
Orange Snowflake on the alternate path.
d) Continue down the alternate path to get a Red Snowflake by hopping a
billboard (two quick ubers can be scored here for huge points).
e) The jump after the river offers a Yellow Snowflake.
f) Going right to the bigger hill will yield a Yellow Snowflake, the lower
hill on the right an Orange Snowflake.
g) After going through the rock opening, bust the Blue SSX Sign to get onto
a wire that leads to elevated cart tracks where a Yellow Snowflake is
situated.
h) By going into the mine, a Red Snowflake awaits your boarder at the
furthest exit.
i) If you go to the bridge area (double waterfall), the right pipe has a
Yellow Snowflake, the left one an Orange Snowflake.
j) By going down the ravine where red and white pipes await, a boarder can
get Yellow Snowflakes as well as a Red Snowflake. If they managed to
bust through the Red SSX Sign, a Yellow Snowflake awaits them for the
next jump across the main path.
k) A Yellow Snowflake is your reward for jumping the ravine.
l) A Yellow Snowflake is on the pipe leading over the underground passage of
the main path.
m) By using the banks for the turns as jumps, first a Yellow Snowflake and
then a Red Snowflake are up for grabs.
n) By clearing the jump over ravine, you receive a Yellow Snowflake.
o) Two Yellow Snowflakes and an Orange Snowflake await your boarder in the
narrow canyon double jump section.
p) Yellow Snowflakes cover the next area until the railed-in section.
q) Any rail on either path will lead through a Yellow Snowflake.
r) By taking the red and white pipes to the right, a Yellow Snowflake and
an Orange Snowflake can be grabbed.
s) An Orange Snowflake is over the final river jump by the finish.

a) Head straight between the two fences leading left and right to bust
through a Red SSX Sign to fall to the ground below. Travel ahead through
the narrow passage to jump back onto the main path.
b) Head across the main path criss-cross here to take a blue-grey rail onto
a rooftop where your boarder will fall through a skylight before heading
forward to get onto another roof before joining the main path once more.
c) Continue down the path until a split appears, but head through the door
ahead (break them down) to go straight off of a roof for a slightly faster
path. You can also go right to jump across some more rooftops, but you
will miss a speed boost if you do.
d) After the next checkpoint, go through the Red SSX Sign ahead to pass
through a parking garage to get onto a set of roof jumps. If you fall
off, head straight through the yellow barriers until you can rejoin the
main path. However, there is a super secret shortcut here that can be
achieved. If you go the rooftops on the left of the set above (go
through parking garage to get to), you will find a grey rail sloped
upwards that should be jumped off of to hit a UFO (it's beam is what you
need to aim for) to be warped into the wooded area near the next
checkpoint.
e) If you go down the river, you can enter a tunnel with fans you must avoid
as you take it to come out below the elevated bridges above.
f) When you reach the end of this area, go behind the ramp instead of up it
to enter a windy tunnel that leads your boarder through the subway (avoid
the subway). The tunnel will then put your boarder back on the main
path.
g) If you missed f), go right into an ice tunnel instead of into the
half pipe set on the left to take amore direct route.
o---------------------o
Show-Off Snowflakes

a) Take the red and white pipe straight ahead from the start to get an
Orange Snowflake.
b) Take the next jump to get a Yellow Snowflake.
c) The next jump has an Orange Snowflake, followed by a red and white pipe
leading to both an Orange Snowflake and a Red Snowflake.
d) A Yellow Snowflake is your reward for taking a small red and white pipe.
e) Go down the twisty path ahead to get on a red and white pipe to get an
Orange Snowflake.
f) A Yellow Snowflake is off the jump by the checkpoint, followed by an
Orange Snowflake off of the next jump/red and white pipe.
g) Go through the twisty section to get a Yellow Snowflake or an Orange
Snowflake from the red and white pipes ahead.
h) Take the next red and white pipe to ride through the checkpoint to get an
Orange Snowflake, or just go on the ground to the first jump past the
checkpoint to get a Yellow Snowflake.
i) An Orange Snowflake awaits your boarder off a short rail, followed by two
more Orange Snowflakes on the next jump.
j) Go down either path on the split to get a Yellow Snowflake off the next
jump, followed by a dual set of Orange Snowflakes in the start of the
half pipe.
k) More Orange Snowflakes on the split section of the half pipe, followed by
two rather easy to get Red Snowflakes.
l) Yellow Snowflakes are farther down the path near the checkpoint on red
and white pipes (an Orange Snowflake is on the left pipe). Go to take
the small jump ahead to get a Red Snowflake.
m) If you get on the red and white pipes below the aforementioned Red
Snowflake above, another Red Snowflake is up for grabs. The bridge has a
Red Snowflake/Orange Snowflake offering off the second jump.
n) Yellow Snowflakes and an Orange Snowflakes are across the first bridge in
the broken overpass, followed by an Orange Snowflake and a Red Snowflake
on the next gap. If you make it across, a red Snowflake is your reward
for the final jump.
o) The red and white pipes here offer an Orange Snowflake, followed by a
Yellow Snowflake on the next jump.
p) The half pipe has a Yellow Snowflake on each part of the half pipe as
well as two much higher in the air Red Snowflakes. Then you have a
Yellow Snowflake off the jump ahead, followed by an Orange Snowflake and
a Red Snowflake high in the air (any clue how to get these, please e-mail
me).

13)This section will look at some strategies for both the Race and Show Off
modes.
o------------------o
Racing Shortcuts
o------------------o
a) This first point applies for all of the race: avoid the blowers in the
ground. If you run one of these over, you will have to wait for your
boarder to land (meaning your opponents can be passing you at their
leisure). Warp back into the race immediately at the expense of your
Adrenaline Meter to cut your losses.
b) Build up your TRICKY so your Adrenaline Meter will max out. The best way
to do this is when you are forced into jumps (like the wind pipe or
various ledges along the race) to maximize efficiency between ubers and
speed.
c) Now you need to pass through the obstacles without getting sidetracked
into the distractions various paths can take your boarder to. This means
avoiding tunnels, air vents, etc. so you can pass through these slower
areas as fast as possible.
d) The Pinball Machine section has the fastest route by going up the middle
of it, but this brings the most risk of obstacles and vents. If you can
manage it, get onto a beam on the roof to fly along above all the dangers
(albeit a slightly slower path).
o---------------------o
Show-Off Snowflakes
o---------------------o
a) The rails after the wind tunnel offer a multitude of Yellow Snowflakes
and Orange Snowflakes. Red Snowflakes are much rarer, and generally are
awarded only at the very end of a rail set (near the pinball machine
section of the course).
b) After dodging through the pole blockers, hit a switch on the ground to
cause a ramp to raise from the ground. Go off of it (without boost) to
go through a Red Snowflake and down into hole where an air vent will
launch your boarder up into the air to possibly reach a Yellow Snowflake.
c) Go into the next underground ice cave (the segregated path area) by
hitting a switch on the ground, and then jump out of the lip on the exits
(all three) for a Red Snowflake.
d) Ride the Rails and the teflon paths high in the air to reach Red
Snowflakes for the ability to stay up high as long as possible.
e) With so many Snowflakes, try different launch angles from the air vents
to see what you can grab.

a) You will have two choices once you cross the first gap in the iceberg.
You can choose the Blue SSX Sign (either of them) to go down the main
path where you should bust through another Blue SSX Sign to see a glass
tunnel ahead. If you choose the Red SSX Sign to the right of the Blue
SSX Signs, you will take a wire across the gap to enter a tunnel, which
will end on the right side of the main path where a glass tunnel beckons.
b) Enter the glass tunnel to see a jump raise from the ground, which will
launch your boarder over the sign ahead into a hole. Bomb down the hill
to go across the gap to enter another ice tunnel which will deposit your
boarder back on the main path.
c) When the next jump comes, launch your boarder up into the "mouth" of the
tiki idol to enter a raised glass tube. If you ride it to the end, you
will reach the beginning of the cave area.
d) Right after the wires crossing the gap to the cave area, cut left to go
through the Red SSX Sign to enter a deep powder area where dodging the
obstacles is your only goal. A super shortcut that should be used at all
times in every race. You will exit by the backhoe on the main path.
e) Just past the backhoe is a wire leading up to another elevated glass
tunnel, which will carry your boarder to the finish line (avoid the
torches by the finish or risk getting stuck permanently).

a) By using one of the red and white pipes directly ahead, a Yellow
Snowflake will be nabbed.
b) If you take the grey pipe across the first gap as opposed to the wires,
you will get an Orange Snowflake.
c) Use the red and white pipes that go through the Blue SSX Signs to get a
Yellow Snowflake.
d) Yellow Snowflakes and an Orange Snowflake are available on the red and
white pipes near the glass tunnel. An Orange Snowflake is attainable by
using the glass tunnel jump to reach it.
e) Take the red and white pipes just past the Red SSX Sign to the right to
get a Red Snowflake.
f) Jump the next gap for a Yellow Snowflake, followed by getting on the red
and white pipe to go to another red and white pipe to get an Orange
Snowflake.
g) If you choose to take the red and white pipe sets over the river of ice
melt run-off, you can get a Yellow Snowflake and a Red Snowflake. If you
choose the half pipe section, you will get a few Yellow Snowflakes and a
couple Orange Snowflakes (only if you get onto a red and white pipe sets
on the left bank of the half pipe).
h) Once the cave area is entered, use the red and white pipes for a Yellow
Snowflake.
i) Go through the Red SSX Sign to go left up a wire to get a Yellow
Snowflake and to reach a tunnel. If you miss this, take the wire near
the right wall to ride up to a Yellow Snowflake before you reach the
tunnel.
j) Take the red and white pipe to get your self a Yellow Snowflake (a second
one can be taken advantage of at the end).
k) If you stay on the ground floor of the main path, jump through the
waterfall to get a Yellow Snowflake.

15)This section will look at some strategies for both the Race and Show Off
modes.
o------------------o
Racing Shortcuts
o------------------o
a) Break through the Red SSX Sign on the left side of the course to ride
down the ice path to get on a rail which will take your boarder through
a speed boost power-up. The right side will take your boarder down an ice
path to the same speed boost without a rail.
b) When you reach the part with two different elevations of jump to the
ground below, go to the far left to ride through some icicles to clear a
gap to land on an elevated ice path. Jump and boost through it to pass
over the rest of the ice path to arrive at the end of it to join the main
path.
c) When you reach the warning for a gap ahead, use the left-most jump to
elevate to an ice path above the windy one below. By jumping across it,
you will be able to avoid the hard jumps below to get to the
powder-covered ground by the checkpoint.
d) Go to the left when heading down the snow-covered boulder section to find
a rail to get on to ride across the bumpy ice section below to enter the
ice caves.
e) If you miss the above one, take the left passage in the cave, and head
over the right wall through the icicles and the next two humps to head
straight through the otherwise windy main path here.
f) When you exit the caves, go right instead of following the ice path to
cut across the powder before joining the main path again to jump the gap
ahead.
g) After the hairpin turn (it was located on the wall at 90 degrees), the
next jump will invite you to jump straight off of the jump to reach a
small ledge leading through a small cave to arrive on the middle ice path
in the next section.
h) While on the middle ice path, jump off of the very end to make it onto a
snow path on the right to avoid going down the main path to the right.
i) While in the wind tunnel, purposely wipe out your rider to have him/her
appear on the ice path leading directly to the finish (as opposed to them
being flung into the air to waste time). Using the warp Button may be a
wise move if you are flung out high into the air.
o---------------------o
Show-Off Snowflakes
o---------------------o
a) Push off of the start to get a Yellow Snowflake (just letting the regular
motion carry you will not reach it).
b) Take the red and white pipe to get a Yellow Snowflake, followed by
transferring to a grey pipe to get another Yellow Snowflake.
c) You can use the bank just before the billboard to hop up onto the top of
the billboard to get a Red Snowflake.
d) Take the red and white pipe on the right to enter a set of red and white
pipes that have two Yellow Snowflakes and a Red Snowflake for your
boarder.
e) If you jump off of the lower elevation jump over the rocks on the right,
your boarder can get onto a rail which heads through a Red Snowflake.
f) Take the red and white pipe to get a Red Snowflake, followed by a Yellow
Snowflake on the next pipe. Go to the ground to take the next red and
white pipe to an Orange Snowflake.
g) If you are on the grey rail set to the right over the water, an Orange
Snowflake awaits you hearty boarder.
h) Use the jump ahead after the checkpoint or the billboard rails to get an
Orange Snowflake. Then you should take a red and white pipe set ahead to
get a Red Snowflake, followed by an Orange Snowflake or red Snowflake.
i) If you manage to get on the red and white rails below, you will get
Yellow Snowflakes for going the distance on the rails to enter the ice
caves.
j) When you exit the ice caves, a Yellow Snowflake is on the right, an
Orange Snowflake on the left. The rail sets in the curvy section ahead
contain many Yellow Snowflakes and Orange Snowflakes, as well as some Red
Snowflakes.
k) After the half pipe comes the hairpin turn on the wall, where an Orange
Snowflake and a Red Snowflake await. The jump following has Orange
Snowflakes to either side of the jump, but a straight off the centre jump
leads to a Red Snowflake (need to cover a lot of distance though to get
it).
l) If you take the centre route in the next section, an Orange Snowflake or
Red Snowflake can be grabbed off the second ice hill. An Orange
Snowflake awaits grabbing off of the final jump in the set. The red and
white pipes on the left or right have Yellow Snowflakes and Orange
Snowflakes for your boarder.
m) Either cave you choose opens with an Orange Snowflake off of the first
hill.
n) After going through the ice bump section, jump off the ice ledge to get
an easy Orange Snowflake or a near impossible to get Red Snowflake.
o) After passing through the checkpoint, go onto the red and white pipe sets
for a Yellow Snowflake followed by an Orange Snowflake followed by a Red
Snowflake (depending how far you get along the rails).
p) Jump at the very edge of the win tunnel to get a Red Snowflake, but if
you jump too early, you will get an Orange Snowflake or a Yellow
Snowflake. After landing, take the left grey pipe to get a Yellow
Snowflake, followed by an Orange Snowflake right before the finish.

16)This section will take a look at your reward for winning all the Races on
World Circuit for one character.
o---------------o
Various Paths
o---------------o
a) You will have no choices in the paths you take until you have reached a
point where two tunnels to the left appear. The tunnel farthest to the
left will take your boarder through a lower portion of the mountain with
few opportunities for big jumps but lot so speed. The other tunnel
offers a few spots to vault off some big drops for some jumps and offers
some moderate speed chances. The regular path (to the right) will go
through the same area as the last tunnel listed (once the tunnel surfaces
again.
b) You will enter a tree-filled area where a few humps are good for hitting
lots of insane tricks off of. When you reach the narrowing of the path,
there are three choices to take. The far left will take your boarder
down a brief tunnel before exiting out to a hilly section with trees that
can be grinded (big time trick area). The middle path goes between two
rock walls to present a few large air opportunities before the last jump
can lead you to an ice tunnel on the left or regular path on the right if
you fail in the jump. The ice path will have ice stagtitlites waiting to
be plowed through as you barrel down this fast path until it splits
(indicated by the hump in the middle). Going left will deposit your
boarder onto the path the left tunnel takes you to, but the right path
takes you through a longer ice path for more speed until the ice wall
breaks apart to deposit your boarder on the path the right option below
takes you to. The right path leads to the usual path taken with trees
for grinding and hills to launch crazy trick off of. All the path
reunite when the higher left path rejoins the lower right path.
c) The path will continually narrow until it enters a multi-bumpy area,
which is an area that has many boulders under the snow. you will not
have many chances for tricks, so concentrate on a straight line down this
hard section while dodging the trees.
d) When you finally reach the end of the above section of the course, jump
off the lip of the last boulders before free-falling down a huge air
section (you can sneak in three or even four Ubers if you are good).
This will land your boarder on the hill below where he/she will move down
towards the torches to finish the run.

Offs on World Circuit for one character.

Show-Off Snowflakes
o---------------------o
a) Going straight ahead off the start will take you to a jump with an Orange
Snowflake.
b) Going left or right will lead to half pipes with any Yellow Snowflakes, a
couple Orange Snowflakes, and a Red Snowflake in the centre of the
half pipe on a pedestal.
c) The middle half pipe has a few Yellow Snowflakes.
d) The next section of the course is all pipes and small bumps for jumps.
Many Yellow Snowflakes are easily accessible on almost every rail.
Orange Snowflakes are available to the skilled jumper who can aim on
their rail hopping. Red Snowflakes are high in the air, so you need to
be ready to go high into the air with max speed and jump potentials off
of jumps and half pipes.
e) After the checkpoint, the number of rails increase, as do the Snowflakes.
As you head down the hill, watch for big cut-outs of Luther and Eddie,
which have rails cutting between their legs leading through a target. if
you manage to ride these twisty pipes all the way to their finish, you
will get a Red Snowflake as you enter a half pipe where multitudes of all
colours of Snowflakes are available if you can launch on the correct line
and reach high enough. A definite need for getting massive scores on this
Show-Off.
f) The outside area of this level has very few Snowflakes, and the few
available are mostly Yellow Snowflakes. A handful of Orange Snowflakes
are to be had, and two Red Snowflakes are situated near the finish line
which makes them hard to grab.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------Strategies-------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
18)This section will give some quick thoughts for you to utilize, and a few
techniques to better your playing style.
a) Pre-winding before a jump is crucial. This is the difference between
doing one flip and three flips, especially in point concentration
Show-Off competitions. This will also help build your Adrenaline Meter
faster in a race for extra boost.
b) If you are flipping in the air and you are going to land with your board
out of position, there is no way to save it, right? Well, you can use
your ANALOG Stick to maneuver your boarder into a different position
before they land, sometimes even completing their current flip!
c) Shoving an opponent during a race is not only a great way to get your
Adrenaline Meter filled up, but it is also a great way to get directly
into an Uber ready state (meaning you can get "TRICKY" filled out faster
for infinite Adrenaline Mater). This can come at a price however, since
any racers who are Neutral or Friendly to your character might start to
become less friendly (meaning they will shove at you without
provocation).
d) When in a race, use boost while on wires/pipes/rails so your boarder will
get to the next section quicker (an excellent method for opening a lead
on the opposition). While in a Show-Off, a slower speed on
wires/pipes/rails is appreciated as it allows your boarder more time on
the structures to gain more points.
e) When you use your boost, tap the B Button repeatedly as opposed to just
holding it down. This will use less turbo while still getting your
boarder the same speed boost.
f) In a race, use the smallest jumps for Adrenaline Meter building, and just
don't jump off the big air jumps. This will allow your boarder to get
ahead of the opposition as they are still in the air while you are flying
down the slopes.
g) Show-Off is best served by doing Misty and Rodeo tricks off as many jumps
as possible, and doing Ubers/grabs off of big jumps to compliment the
Misty and Rodeo movements.
h) Choose the boarder that best suits your style. A BX Boarder is best for
beginners as they combine the speed of Alpiners with the tricks of
Freestylers to make for a well-rounded boarder. Freestyle boarders are
more for intermediate players and Alpiners for experts.
i) By jumping from rail to rail, your boarder can achieve some impressive
rail bonuses (4000 points X [number of rails - 1]).
j) Try to use rails to get high enough into the air to fit fast Ubers in
where normally putting them would be impossible otherwise. In a Race,
this will max out your Adrenaline Meter completely in a faster time, and
in Show-Off this will score more points in lower point areas.

A high paced, crazy downhill experience that really does deserve your hard

those who do not own the original.
