Version 1.0 - Got started on first FAQ ever. Yay!

----------------
Background
----------------

Allegiance:          Wu
Lifespan:            175 - 210 A.D.
Relations:           Xiao Qiao, Wife
Zhou Xun & Zhou Yin, Sons
                    Zhou Ying, Daughter
                    Sun Ce, Sworn Brother
Japanese Name:       Shuu Yu
Style Name:          Gongjin

Zhou Yu was born into a wealthy Shu family. When he was still young, Sun Jian
moved his family into Shu. Zhou Yu became friends with Sun Jian’s son Sun Ce,
and they took an oath to become sworn brothers. Together they conquered the
land of Wu and united them.

Zhou Yu was described as "a dashing leader of handsome and refined men". He was
a cultured, sophisticated man highly skilled in tactics, whose only weakness
was his conceit.

When Sun Ce died in 200 A.D., he made a statement to his younger brother Sun
Quan, saying: "For internal affairs, turn to Zhang Zhao; for outer matters you
must consult Zhou Yu". Zhou Yu continued to serve under Sun Quan as strategist
for Wu, where he achieved his greatest success - victory at the battle of Chi
Bi. From noting the direction of the wind and what fire could do to Cao Cao’s
boats with the wind, he devised a plan that led to the destruction of Cao Cao’s
fleet.

Zhou Yu often worried about Zhuge Liang and his ability as a strategist,
especially that he was a greater strategist than Zhou Yu himself. This was a
fact that Zhou Yu could not accept. Zhou Yu died young at the age of 35, from
an arrow wound that never healed properly. His final words were: "O God, since
thou made Zhou Yu, why did thou also create Zhuge Liang?"  He was honored by
Sun Quan after his death and remembered for his cunning and will to win.

Zhou Yu’s Pros and Cons
------------------------
Zhou Yu was my favourite character from Wu, as he’s so easy to use.

Pros
Best running move in the game!
Excellent combos
Juggling attacks frequently
Quick

Cons
Charge 1 is hard to aim
Vulnerable after SSSSTT
Not the best crowd clearer

Overall: 8.5/10 – He IS one of the best overall characters. What more be said?

------
Moves
------
S = Square
T = Triangle
(X) = repeatable by pressing T more times
J = Jump

S - Horizontal right swing
SS - Above + horizontal left
SSS - Above + horizontal right
SSSS - Above + diagonal up/left swing
SSSSS – Above + horizontal right swing
SSSSSS – Above + horizontal left swing

T – Shoots a blast from his left hand, along with whatever elemental orb
effects you may have added.

ST – S plus a right uppercut throwing you opponent into the air.

SST (X) – SS plus a 360 spin to attack. He then reverses the spin (if you press
T again) and repeats, and you can press T more times to attack as your weapon
level goes up.

SSST (X) – SSS plus a jumping 360 spin. He then reverses the spin (once again,
assuming you pressed the T button again) and hits up to a maximum of 3 times.

SSSST – SSSS plus a large uppercut that knocks the opponent into the air. This
is more effective than ST. You can then press T again while they are in the air
and Zhou Yu will jump and imitate his SSST move. This can be slow and
ineffective, however.

SSSSST – SSSSS plus a huge slice which sends out a horizontal blast. Very
effective crowd clearing move.

JS – A very weak down/left slash. Not much damage. Only use this one to get
people of horses or elephants.

JT – Zhou Yu will jump into the air, do a backflip, and fall, digging his sword
into the ground and damaging anyone within a certain radius. You can get hit
while falling, especially by Officers and the like. Annoying. Only use this one
to attack wussy enemies and get generals off horses.

Running Attack – Left, right, left, right, left, right. Then a 360 spin for the
stunner. The best running attack in the game. Enough said.

Musou – Up/left, Up/right continuously. Fun to juggle little infantry with.

True Musou – Musou plus fire element. He then adds an extra SSST-like move and
can leave other enemies open for more attacks, as they are flung into the air.
Use this one on huge crowds and officers while they try to attack you.

Horse S(SSSSS) + (T) – Side to side slashes with one on each side for the T.

Horse Musou – Stronger slashes, and the horse stops when you’re done. Never
ever waste Musou like this. Ever.

Elephant Attacks – The same as always. Trunk swings, stomps (my favourite!),
and a combo if you use Musou. Please never ever waste Musou like this.

---------
Weaponry
---------

In Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires, the weapon system works on a different basis,
something to do with the levels. If anyone has any details on how it works,
please tell me.

Weapon Level – Name – Attack Bonus – No. of attacks - Effects

1: Bronze Sword : +14 : 4 : N/A

2: Bronze Sword : +17 : 4 : N/A

3: Bronze Sword : +20 : 4 : N/A

4: Iron Sword : +24 : 5 : N/A

5: Iron Sword : +27 : 5 : N/A

6: Iron Sword : +30 : 5 : N/A

7: Elder Sword : +38 : 6 : N/A

8: Elder Sword : +40 : 6 : N/A

9: Elder Sword : +42 : 6 : N/A

10: Ancients Sword : +44 : 6 : N/A

11: Scion Sword : +47 : 6 : Tortoise Amulet Lv. 16
                           Wing Boots Lv. 18
                           Seven Star Sash Lv. 13
                           Elixir Lv. 17

--------------------
Goals for Leveling
--------------------

Each character has 4 goals for leveling up. Once you achieve 1, your level
rises by one, and your stats and troop capabilities go up.

Zhou Yu’s goals are:  21000 Points
                     Served 10 turns
                     11 Proposals Accepted
                     Occupy 5 regions

-------------------------
Maximizing Effectiveness
-------------------------

Zhou Yu begins with only two item slots. I’m still not sure if he gains more,
please email me about this. Assuming he has up to four slots, here’s what I
include.

Harness: Shadow Runner. You don’t fall off of this one, even by archers. Stupid
archers...

Orb: Vorpal. Everyone agrees that vorpal orbs are the best, and combined with
Zhou Yu’s ability to take out officers; this gives you a large damage booster.

Slot 1: Way of Musou. Extra killing power. Always have this one. Always.
Alwaysalways.

Slot 2: Tiger Amulet. Added with vorpal orb, this makes you unstoppable against
officers.

Slot 3: Wind Scroll. Also helps to destroy crowds. Effective for taking out
running archers too.

Slot 3: Peacock Urn. More life = More killing time.

Slot 4: Musou Armor. I hate archers more than anything, but if you can deal
with them, you can switch it for a tortoise amulet, for the same reason as the
peacock urn.
