********************* 2. INTRODUCTION  *********************

Thanks for using my FAQ.  First of all I'd like to thank GameFAQs for hosting
this FAQ.  I'd also like to thank all those who submitted cheats to GameFaQs
for this game, which saved me a lot of time on the opponent duelists and card
lists.  I should point out that this is my first FAQ ever, and I'm surprised at
how much I could write about this game.  However, at this point I'm ready to
move on to other games, so I'm kind of abandoning it as of 1-19-2006.  If there
are any major errors, you can find me on the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger Game
Gear Board on GameFAQs and I might update this, but I'm not making any
promises.  I just hope someone can use some of this data, or else I just wasted
a lot of time.  I'll tell you one thing that this FAQ lacks is a good strategy
guide, the way I saw this game, the actual dueling came down to luck of the
draw more often than not.

********************* 3. GENERAL INFORMATION ***************

A.  INCLUDED WITH THE GAME
This game comes in the standard PlayStation 2 DVD case with a pretty standard
instruction manual as well.  The thing that sets this game apart from most is
the big booster pack of Duel Master cards that comes inside.  The pack I got
said "EVO-CRUSHINATORS OF DOOM" and advertised "10 additional cards plus a
collectable puzzle card!"

B. COMPATIBLE WITH
This Game is only compatible with your Analog Controller and Memory card.  The
save file requires 125 KB, the case says 130 KB, but the file on my PS2 Browser
says it's only 125 KB.  It's 1-2 players, you can Duel with a second player in
arcade mode.

********************** 5. STORY MODE WALKTHROUGH **************

A. Beginning
After selecting Story Mode it will ask if the Auto Save Feature is okay to use,
just select yes.  Then their'll be a scene where the temple portals are opened
Widow. The next scene shows Knight meeting Trey, Luc, Rusty, Flynn and Rebecca.
Knight will ask you if you'd like a Tutorial, I recommend selecting yes if it's
your first time playing, but I believe you can find it in the main menu to
review anytime.  If you just want to get on with the main story select No.
Next is another scene where Knight explains that the 5 need to enter the 5
colors tournament.  Now you have to select a character.  You have to complete
all their campaigns to get to the tournament, so it really doesn't mater, which
one you pick.  You can switch characters at any time when you continue too.

B. Rusty's Campaign
The beginning scene shows Rusty daydreaming about winning the tournament, later
he meets Knight in the park who tells him to keep practicing.  Now you're free
to duel, the Mall, School, Restaurant, Park, and Card shop are all open on the
map, so feel free to duel anyone you see.

Rusty Quest 1 -Marcus at the Restaurant
Press Square to bring up the map, go to the restaurant, press right 3 times,
you can't miss him.  Pressing X will initiate a scene where Marcus challenges
Rusty to a Duel for a card.  You can select No and watch the scene again or
collect more cards first, but eventually you should press X to select Yes and
duel.  Then it's just another duel with a little luck/strategy you should be
able to win within a few tries.  You'll get 2500 Reputation Points, and 3 cards
for winning.  Then there'll be a scene and he'll give you a rare card, it was
Explosive Fighter Ucarn in my case.

Rusty Quest 2 -Duel Ice Cream in the Mall
He's the first guy you'll see in the Mall.  I beat him first try using the
starter deck.  You get 2500 Reputation Points and 3 cards for winning.  Ice
Cream will tell you to check out the Junkyard, and now the Junkyard is
unlocked.

Rusty Quest 3 -Fire Monk in the Junkyard
He's the first guy you see in the Junkyard, talking to him will initiate a
scene, he's looking for the best fire duelist, so duel him.  Defeating him on
your first try will unlock him in arcade mode.  Again you'll get 2500
Reputation Points and 3 cards.  There will be a scene where the monk explains
about a fire creature who has escaped from the creatures world.  He give you a
piece of a creature card and tells you that you need to find 8 more, it looks
like you have your work cut out for you.

Rusty Quest 4 -Tuba at the Mall-trade for Gatling Skyterror (optional?)
Simply check your quest screen to see whom you need to talk to/duel to advance
the story.  Tuba wants to trade for a card you don't have, but David in the
card shop has it.  So go to the card shop and talk to David.  You'll have to
press right 4 times to find him.  David has the Mantis but will only trade for
the King, so he tells you to check with the duelists in the park.  So go talk
to Kiki in the park, she's the first person you'll see.  She agrees to duel you
for the card, so except the duel.  You'll get 3 additional cards and 2500
Reputation Points for winning.  King Ripped-Hide is your Prize.  Now go back to
the card shop to trade with David.  Talk to David and Trade the King Ripped-
Hide for his Xeno Mantis.  Now you can finally trade with Tuba in the Mall.
Talk to him and.Oh-oh. you have to see the scene for yourself.  Go ahead and
trade Xeno Mantis for the Gatling Skyterror.  Rusty will say thanks. Now you
have a powerful fire card you can signature!

Rusty Quest 5 -Greg at the Restaurant
Just press right 3 times in the restaurant to find him.  He has a fire card
piece and will duel you for it.  In addition you'll get 2500 Reputation Points
and 3 cards for winning.  7 pieces left.

Rusty Quest 6 -Sera at the Mall
Press Right 4 times and talk to her.  In the scene Marcus shows up and tells
Sera to give Rusty a piece of the card, but Sera won't give it up without a
duel.  As always you get 2500 Reputation Points and 3 cards for winning.  6
pieces left.

Rusty Quest 7 -Marcus at School
Press Right 3 times to talk to him.  Marcus tells Rusty that he's joined
Marcus's team and challenges him to a duel.  You get 3 cards and 2500
Reputation
points if you win.  That's all there is to it, and the story progresses.

Rusty Quest 8 -Lucy at the Restaurant
She's the first person you'll see, and she'll duel you for a card piece.
You'll
get 3 cards, but only 1250 Reputation Points for winning.  Only 5 pieces left.

Rusty Quest 9 -Trey in the park
Press Right 3 times to talk to your brother Trey.  Trey warns Rusty that Marcus
might be working for Widow.  They argue, but nothing really gets solved.

Rusty Quest 10 -Knight in the Junkyard
You must first become an advanced duelist by gaining 10,000 reputation points.
Knight is the first person you'll see in the Junkyard.  Knight challenges you
to a duel.  You'll get 3 cards and 2500 Reputation Points if you win.  Knight
then tells you that you must choose a Signature Creature and give you three
options; Astrocomet Dragon, Gatling Skyterror, and Bolshack Dragon.  They all
have Double Breaker, Astrocomet can attack for 10,000 and is Super Rare, but
Bolshack only costs 6 Mana and can possible attack for more than 10,000 if you
have more than 4 fire cards in your graveyard.  If you did Quest 4 you already
have a Skyterror, but having 2 in your deck makes it more reliable.  They're
all good cards, I chose the Super Rare.  Knight then tells Rusty that his true
skill must not come from his cards, but from within.

Rusty Quest 11 - Earl in the Junkyard
Press Right 4 times to talk to him.  Duel him for a fire clan vs. Nature clan
battle.  It kind of sounds like Rusty is protected by Marcus and Widow in the
scene?  You'll get 3 cards and 2500 Reputation Points for winning.

Rusty Quest 12 -Downey in the park
At this point it gave me the tip, "you can only have 4 of any card in your
deck."  Just press X, then press right 3 times and X to talk to Downey.  She'll
give you a card piece if you duel her, but she gets 6 shields.  You'll get 3
cards and 2500 Reputation points for winning.  4 creature card pieces left.

Rusty Quest 13 -Marcus at the Card Shop
Press Right 4 times to talk to him.  Marcus wants to take all of Rusty's card
pieces, but Rusty won't trade for anything.  Now it seems they're enemies.

Rusty Quest 14 -Trey at the Mall
Press Right 4 Times to talk to Trey.  Trey tells Rusty he did the right thing
with Marcus, "so let's duel."  You'll get 3 cards and 2500 Reputation Points
for winning.  Caitlan has all the rest of the pieces!

Rusty Quest 15 -Caitlan at the Restaurant
Press Right 3 times, then X to talk to her.  So they're going to duel for the
card pieces, all or nothing, best of 3 matches.  You'll get 3 cards and 2500
Reputation Points Each time you win.  You need to win twice without loosing
more than once.  Now you have all the pieces of the Creature card.  It's a Bad
Axe
Norsykler!  Too bad it cant attack players.

Rusty Quest 16 -Back to the Fire Monk in Junkyard
He's the first person you see in the Junkyard.  I think you need the rank of
Master first.  The fire Monk wants to test you, which means, another duel.
You'll get 3 cards and 2500 Reputation Points for Winning.  Now they will
combine the pieces together, but he must face the creature alone.

Rusty Quest 17 -Norskyler
This Battle will start automatically.  Good Luck, You'll get 3 cards and 2500
Reputation Points for winning.  Norskyler will now serve within your deck.
This Unlocks the Tournament Hall

Rusty Qust 18 -Knight in the Tournament Hall
Talk to Knight, he says he'll see you at the tournament.  With that you've
unlocked Caitlan in Arcade mode, and completed Rusty's Campaign.

Rusty Campaign Final Notes
You can still go back and duel any of the opponenents listed in my opponent
duelist section for cards and reputation points to build a better deck for the
Tournament.

Note: For the rest of the Campaign walkthroughs I will try to be much more
concise and to the point.  Assume that each story line duel gives you 3 cards
and 2500 Reputation Points Unless otherwise noted.  I assume you can find who
you're looking for given the location, just press left or right up to 4 times
until you find them.  I also will try to keep it more spoiler free with the
scenes.

you would have to rebuild your deck and take out all the evolutions, but you
don't have any evolutions in your original deck, so they'd all be cards you
added anyway.).  Then talk to Chuck in the Card Shop.  You can talk to him

Mode and Completes Trey's Campaign.

G. The Tournament of 5 Colors
Okay, it seems each of the 5 characters will have to duel in their own
tournament against 7 other duelist of their respective civilizations.  Which
means 3 Battles of sudden death for each character.

You are only able to edit your deck before the first match, of the first 2.
You must complete the first 2 rounds with all the characters before moving on
to the final rounds.  As always, it will automatically save after you win each
Duel.

This is how it went for me:
Flynn vs. Savy, Flynn vs Geoff
Rusty vs. Colin, Rusty vs. Lynne
Luc vs. Robin, Luc vs. Pete
Trey vs. Tuba, Trey vs. Gwinny
Rebecca vs. Evan, Rebecca vs. Cindy

Now you'll move on to the Final rounds for each tournament!  It seems
everything is automatic, you must win with the deck you used in the first 2
rounds, and duel  all 5 one after the other, in this order:
Flynn vs. Marcus
Rusty vs. Caitlan
Luc vs. Sera
Trey vs. Earl
Rebecca vs. Jalen

Winning all 5 duels unlocks Knight in Arcade Mode.

H. The Final Duel!
At this point you can choose any character you want to face off against Widow.
I just chose Rusty.  I guess there's a short scene that changes depending on
which character you choose, nothing major.  Then Enjoy the ending, and...
You've unlocked Widow in Arcade Mode.

I. A Couple Basic Notes

Card Shop
You can sell your cards for store credit and buy booster packs for 125 credits.
Most of your less powerful cards can be sold for 10 Credits.  Collect every
card in the game to unlock Chuck in Arcade Mode.

Reputation Points
You start with 0 and the Rank of Beginner
Gain 2000 to achieve the Rank of Amateur
Gain 5000 to achieve the Rank of Duelist
Gain 10000 to achieve the Rank of Advanced
Gain 15000 to achieve the Rank of Professional
Gain 25000 to achieve the Rank of Master

Post Game
After completing Story Mode, you can continue anyone's campaign, just like you
could between completing their campaign and the tournament.  This is good for
collecting cards for the creature viewer or even to unlock chuck, but not much
else.  Knock yourself out if you just want to max out your rankings, but that
could take forever.

********************* 7. OPPONENT CHARACTERS LIST  *************************
Note: These Story Mode characters should all be constant, meaning they should
be there to duel as many times as you want no matter which character's campaign
you're playing, as long at their area is unlocked in your characters game.  One
thing that does not seem to be constant are the reputation points.  They're
different for each character, and at each difficulty level.  Below I will try
to list the number of points each character will get on easy mode.  The
Characters are distinguished by the first letter of their name, R- means
Rusty's, L- means Luc's, F- Means Flynn's, Rb- Means Rebecca's, and T- means
Trey's.  Again these only seem to be constant on Easy difficulty.  My rough
Estimate is Multiply it by .463 to get the number for Hard mode, and Multiply
it by .619 to get the number for Normal Mode, but this is kind of a rough guess
on my part based on only a few points of data.

**************************** 6. CARD GUIDE  ******************************

This portion accounts for nearly 2/3 of the length of this FAQ, so I hope
someone uses it.  I actually just used the get all cards cheat to collect data
for this section, but I only counted 138 cards here, and the DVD case claims
there are 139?

I made at least 1 mistake.  When it says "Starter set," that just means those
creatures are available in the creature viewer without even having a memory
card.  Other than that all the cards should be here listed alphabetically and
divided by civilization.

I'll attempt to list all the cards using this format:

************************** 9. SPECIAL FEATURES **************************

A. Creature Viewer
This Feature let's you view creatures from cards you have collected.  You can
press L2 for card details.  After Pressing X once you can control the camera
with the analog sticks to zoom in, out, and around the creature.  Pressing X a
second time will bring up a menu of battle animations, Low Attack A and Z, High
Attack and Defeat, just press X again to watch them.

B. Credits
This will roll the credits.  One time I selected not to save any profile to my
memory card, and selected Credits, and my PS2 Browser came up, so I reselected
the disc icon and the screen went black and totally froze up on me, this could
be a glitch?

C. Join D-MAX!
D-MAX is an exclusive Duel Masters Club.  This feature basically just tells you
to fill out the application found in every 2-player starter set, so you can
become a member and start getting prizes and premiums.
