[Ch01] <- 1. Introduction ->
This FAQ has two purposes. The first purpose of this FAQ is to show you how to
unlock all of the songs with minimal effort, minimal time, and maximum fun. The
second purpose of this FAQ is to minimize your frustration in any endeavour.
I'm a huge fan of the various mission modes that have appeared in the DDR
series over the years. Dice Master Mode was the sole reason I bought X2 instead
of Hottest Party 3. And actually, I didn't even know that it was "Dice Master
Mode" until I brought the game home! I just knew that there was there yet
another mission mode and that I had to play it. (Also, $40 isn't much of a
risk. That's like a songpack on a disc, and someone gets a free pad.)
So I jump straight into Dice Master Mode and within hours I get wtfpwned by a
level 4 mission. Now I'm not at all God's gift to DDR, but I know I'm far above
the curve and I've managed to get 100% completion in all 5 of the previous
mission modes. My first thought was that this one early mission must be too
difficult by mistake or something? So I checked some forums. I was surprised to
see threads from players crying about the difficulty and giving up. Wow! Not
only was the mission that stumped me not a mistake, but there are apparently
more missions just like it, and everyone hates the game for being so hard. Of
course, that only encouraged me. :)
I cleared 231/243 missions before I had a mental meltdown and _patched my game
to make it easier_ so that I could beat the last 12 missions and write this
FAQ. Cheating made me sad, but along the way to 100% completion I discovered
that DMM is very well thought out great fun - in parts. And I thought it was a
shame that so many people were giving up on it because they either hit a wall
early on or didn't want to bother with grinding and rerolling. Grinding and
rerolling weren't problems problems for me. However, it did annoy me when I
would travel 30 seconds out of my way to do a mission that would take me 50
attempts only to unlock nothing that would help me.
If you use this FAQ I promise you'll enjoy DMM. I can't give you a list of
missions to do and a specific order. DMM isn't linear and your choices matter.
And although the dice can be manipulated, being that precise is impractical
early on and a waste of time later. Instead, I'm going to show you where the
valuable unlocks are, where the frustratingly difficult missions are, and how
to work so that you spend more time playing DDR and less time in the menus. If
you gave up on DMM when the game came out then I hope this FAQ encourages you
to pick it back up again! That's my goal.
The walkthrough portion of this FAQ is split into two parts for two reasons.
First, earning 100% completion is an unrealistic goal and almost everyone will
have to settle for doing just the fun parts and unlocking the songs. Second,
clearing the final mission will unlock something that will save you lots of
time as you finish the rest of the missions. So even if you're going to be
stubborn and attempt 100% completion anyway, then you still need this FAQ.
[Ch02] <- 2. Terminology and Game Mechanics ->
== [02.01] The Character Die and the Movement Die ==
These two items are the key to Dice Master Mode. At the start of the game your
character die will have Emi, Rage, Zero, Bonnie, Yuni, and Babylon on each of
the six faces. Your movement die will have the numbers 1-6, just like an
ordinary six-sided die.
The game is played by rolling both dice and moving the shown character that
number of spaces. This is not optional. You must move. Fortunately, the game
board is not 'directional' or 'one way' like a traditional board game. If you
want Emi to roll a 3 so that she lands on the mission you want, but she rolls
a 4 instead, it's okay. If her next roll is a 1 she can go back a step and
stop on the mission. You might think that you will waste a lot of time
constantly over-shooting your target in either direction. You won't. I
suspect that the die roller isn't entirely random (in your favor) and you can
also customize your dice to rig the results you want.
== [02.02] The Dancers ==
All 14 characters last seen in Street Master Mode from DDR X are back. And just
like DDR X they appear in a certain order:
Six Starting Dancers: Emi, Rage, Zero, Bonnie, Yuni, Baby-lon
Four Intermediate Dancers: Jenny, Gus, Ruby, Alice
Fout Advanced Dancers: Queen-Zukin, Louis Concent-III, Julio, and Disco
Generally, the starters find the intermediates, and the intermediates then
unlock the advanced dancers. Then the four advanced dancers each have a
path leading to the final area.
For readability I'm going to use "Zukin", "Concent", and "Babylon" throughout
this guide instead of their real names. I may also slip up and call Concent
"Concento" or "Koncent". If you like useless DDR trivia, Disco = Afro as well.
== [02.03] Dance Skill and Mission Requirements ==
Dance Skill means experience points. And everyone has their own Dance Level
which goes up when they accumulate enough dance skill. Every mission has a
level requirement from 1-10. This is the only use of your dance level, and 10
is the max level. Basically this means that you can't just run to the late-game
missions with the best rewards. Your advancing dance level forces you to
progress gradually from the low level missions to the later ones.
The "experience points" earned from a mission follow the following chart:
If you clear the mission, the amount you earn will be this number times your
dance points percentage. Basically, if you scored 857,300 on a song, then your
score was 85.7%. Very simple. So scoring 85.7% on a level 6 mission would earn
you 6,170 experience points. No missions in this game ever ask you to play
poorly (such as get exactly a C) or to play for a certain score (ends with 777)
so don't worry about that. Get the highest score that you can on every mission!
Failing a mission *and not selecting retry* will give you 20% of whatever you
would have recieved if you had won. If you choose to retry the mission then no
points are awarded.
I don't have the level-up tables for everyone, and I think they might even
vary a slight bit between characters. But usually it takes 3 missions at your
level to level up. So play three level 6 missions at level 6 to level up to 7,
and so on. When you're all done you'll reach level 10 around 210,000 xp. My
slowest characters needed around 250,000. The cap is 999,999 but reaching the
cap does nothing.
Why do level 10 missions give experience when 10 is the level cap? Because the
experience can be shared! If someone not involved in a mission is sharing the
same space as someone else when they clear a mission then that character will
earn experience at a 20% rate. So continuing the example, if Alice is sharing a
space with Rage when he earns 6,170 xp then she will will also earn 1,234 xp.
Grouping characters into leveling parties generally isn't worth it until level
7 or so, but then it can be very much worth it.
In addition to a required level some missions may also require specific
dancers to play them. These requirements will be expressed as icons. One icon
obviously means to use that person. A male or female icon means any male or any
female. But if you see two icons this means that both dancers must be present.
I misunderstood this on my first playthrough - I thought it meant 'or' similar
to how the "any male" icon worked. Nope. As a result I sadly passed on many of
the low level couples missions until I figured it out. And some of those
missions unlock wonderful time saving dice parts, too. Now you won't make that
mistake. :)
By the way, if you clear a couples mission, then both dancers earn 100% xp!
This is excellent because there is no faster way to level two people. Any other
dancers also present still earn the 20% "I went to your party" bonus. There is
a bug with awarding xp when you fail a couples mission. The bug is that your
partner is treated as 'present', not participating. So if Emi and Alice are
waiting on a level 6 mission that requires Rage and Emi, and Rage walks up and
fails it, then Rage will earn 1,234 and Alice and Emi will earn 246. Emi should
earn 1,234, but it's no problem because the experience is insignificant anyway.
== [02.04] Customizing Your Dice ==
This is a very important feature of Dice Master Mode. As you play you'll unlock
additional die faces for both dice. You can then customize the 6 faces on
either die as often as you want before each roll. And you can earn extra copies
of everything so you can have good control over your movements. Also, the high
level missions have some awesome wildcard dice that will make your job easy.
On the movement die you can unlock up to six copies of each number 1-10. The
larger numbers are very useful for moving someone across the board to assist
with a distant couples mission. You can also find six different "?#" dice. This
awesome part will let you pick any number from 1-10!
On the character die you can unlock up to six copies of each of the 14 dancers.
This means that you can play each character one at time if you'd like. You will
also find and unlock dual dice - dice with two characters on them. When you
roll one of these parts you'll be given the choice of who to move. Surprisingly
this is even more powerful than being able to choose which number you want to
roll. For example, if you want to move Emi, then you can put 4 Emi faces, a
Emi/Rage face, and an Emi/Yuni face on your character die. This is much easier
than hunting dice and much more flexible. Because now you only need at most 5
parts for Rage and Yuni, and so on. Only one copy exists of each dual die, but
there are lots of them: one for each combination of starter/starter,
intermediate/intermediate, and advanced/advanced dancer.
When you complete the final mission you'll be given six "any character" parts.
This is the greatest thing ever and you will want to clear the final mission as
soon as you can! You can also find one "any male" and an "any female" part, but
obtaining them is harder than beating the final mission and then they become
obsolete.
== [02.05] Unlocking Additional Dice and Dice Parts ==
You will unlock a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pair of character and movement dice when
you open your 4th, 8th, 12th, and 16th locked door. (These are missions on the
border of the colored area that block your passage until you clear them.) The
first time I unlocked a new character and movement die I was super excited! I
thought that I got to add the numbers on the dice together and choose who move.
Nope, that's not how it works at all. Instead, you're just given extra dice to
customize which you can swap for your current die quickly. So rather than take
six 4s off, put six 1s on, roll, and take the 1s off again, you can program one
die to roll nothing but 4s and the other die to roll nothing but 1s. Then you
can pick which die you want to roll depending on if you want a 4 or a 1. Not as
great as I thought it was, but still useful.
This guide will tell you where all the dice parts are. But the game designer
followed a few general rules that you count on to save you the trouble of
referring to this guide. Each zone has two missions completable by only the
person who belongs to that zone. The higher level one will unlock that
character's second outfit, and the lower level one will unlock an extra
character part with that dancer's face on it. The dual dice all unlock from
missions in the 7-9 range, which are often also couples missions. However the
exact dual die that you unlock might not have the face of either dancer on it.
Throughout this guide I might call "dice parts" just "dice". If I say something
like "Rage Die" I'm not wishing death for our takoyaki loving friend, nor am I
talking about a character die customized with 6 Rage faces. I mean a die part
with Rage's face on it.
[Ch03] <- 3. General Tips ->
#1 SAFE OFTEN. At any time before you roll, press start to open the quick menu.
From here you can save or view the records submenu. (Which has multiple pages!
Press left and right.) SAFE OFTEN is solid advice for any video game. A lot of
these missions are very hard and it would be demoralizing to have to do any of
them a second time.
#2 SAFE OFTEN. I was saving often because I was nervous of a freak power outage
or a cat related catastrophe. (My cat acts like a 2 year old.) However, I've
heard reports that Dice Master Mode can rarely crash during the loading screen.
I played for about 50 hours and never had a single crash. But then remember the
part of my introduction when I said I cheated by patching my game to make it
easier? I made it two missions before my DVD-R crashed. I don't think this is
an intentional piracy-foiling scheme like we've seen in other games. What I
think is happening, is that the game doesn't recover correctly from a failed
disc hit while loading the DMM geometry. Dice Master Mode is a 3D scene and I
think the software has to reload it everytime you return from a song. Normally
when the DVD hiccups it takes just an extra second to load and you never
notice. But something about DMM causes the game to hang at this moment. So if
you're playing on a DVD-R, or on a PS2 with a spotty laser, beware.
#3 Marvelous Attack means to use a dance pad. My marvelous attack is much
better on a dance mat than it is on a controller. I still can't FMC anything,
but I was able to beat a lot of the marvelous missions with caffeine and my
feet. That said, the marvelous missions are still the bane of this game.
#4 Customize your movement die as follows: 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2. As Todd Flanders
once said in an episode of The Simpsons: "My daddy says dice as wicked! We just
move one space at a time instead! It's less fun that way!" Todd is right.
Rolling the dice is fast and stopping to equip a three or a four isn't as fast
as just mashing the X button for a couple 1s and 2s. (Unless you need several
3s and 4s, which you may.) Also, check out these statistics. There are 504
total tiles on the game board, and 243 missions. If it weren't for the large
empty area in the middle then this board would be more than half covered.
Therefore most of the time you would want to roll a 1 or 2 anyway! And everyone
knows that the most common sum of two dice is 7. What this also means is that
the most common difference between two rolled dice is 1. Your starting die with
1-2-3-4-5-6 on it is actually surprisingly good for this reason! But a die with
1-1-1-1-2-2 will effectively mean pressing the X button half as much.
#5 Share Experience only in the final area. It's not worth your time to arrange
dancers to meet on a tile so that they can share experience until they reach
level 8. The final mission requires that everyone reach 10. The fastest way to
achieve this is to have all 14 dancers sitting on one level 10 mission while
the one or two dancers that you leveled naturally up to 10 play that mission a
few times. At level 10 it won't take more than a few times. One optimized play
of a level 10 mission with everyone present will obsolete any minor gain that
you may have earned from getting 4 people together to clear a level 7 mission.
#6 Don't grind levels. The intermediate dancers start on level 3 and the
advanced dancers start on level 5. The advanced dancers reach level 9 very fast
and 10 without much extra work. And only the four advanced dancers have level
10 missions to play. Therefore, it only matters that Julio, Disco, Zukin, and
Concent have a decent amount of experience. Everyone else levels up to 10 'for
free' when they do. So if Alice or Yuni is lagging several levels behind then
don't sweat it.
#7 Lay on your back, turn your controller around, and hold your controller
upside-down. I'll tell you when any of these tricks become useful. Particularly
if the song is named "Crazy Control". Lots of "Crazy Control" missions can be
de-gimmicked by doing something crazy to your controller. I'm sure the joke was
intentional. Be careful with turning your pad face down, though. I did
that and I nearly wiped out because I was dancing on the slip-proof surface
while the vinyl top was on a laminate (wood) floor. "The microphone is in my
hand! I got the-" "UUUUUWAAAAA!" *thud* *stage failed*
#8 Shadow a video. Can you read reverse + brake + dark? I bet not. How about
STEPZONE: scatter? Some things, probably lots of things, will be impossible to
you. So load a YouTube video of someone AAAing the song and shadow along with
that. What I like to do, is pause YouTube right on the transition between the
"READY" and "HERE WE GO!" animations. Then I watch my TV with my finger on the
left mouse button ready to unpause. It works nearly every time.
#9 The announcer is a tool. At first I shut him off because he was *such* a
tool. But then while doing a few missions while shadowing a video I realized
that having him call out my combos to keep me on sync would be helpful. Tool
indeed. It still drives me nuts though when he/they start singing 120 BPM over
my 155 BPM song. Talking on top of the music is fine. But singing? I'm trying
to listen here. Argh. Please Konami don't let your emcees sing anymore.
#10 The spider. Lots of missions can be beat by mashing the four shape buttons
to the beats. There is a trick to this: you must depress all four buttons on
the same frame. Don't press X and O together then T and S a fraction of a
second later. The way DDR works, it won't check for early hits on columns which
you've 'jumped' on. Or in other words, a jump is one action, and it so will it
match only one note. (The first closest note.) If there is a LDL pattern coming
up, and you jump perfectly on L+D, then you'll score perfect, miss, miss. But
if your feet land a bit apart then you'll get perfect, good, miss instead. With
this in mind, you can attempt to spider anything, although your fingers will
hurt. I don't recommend it, but DMM sometimes calls for it.
#11 Don't use your 3rd or 4th movement die. Those extra customizable dice are
handy, right? But you can never clean them off. Just try. What this means is
that you can only *swap* parts in and out between dice. Emphasis on swap. And
that requires more parts. If you want to make a 2-2-2-4-4-4 die you may have
to pull the 2s off of another die, etc.
#12 Use my map! GameFAQs is also hosting a map I made of the full DMM game
board. Definitely print a copy or save a local copy and open it in a paint
program. Cross missions off as you do them. I'll also tell you which missions
to circle and avoid for being exceedingly difficult.
[Ch04] <- 4. Modifier Descriptions ->
Throughout this FAQ and especially in the 7th chapter I'll attempt to describe
the silly things that DDR does with terms I made up. Most of them have official
terms, like hidden and boost. But some of them, like "STEPZONE: smile" are
worthy of a picture. This chapter will detail all the weirdness you might see.
You can safely skip this chapter and refer back to it if you need to.
== EMPHASIS ==
These are each used in only one or two missions. These modifiers are especially
disorienting.
"boost beat 1": if any measure contains an arrow on the first whole beat then
just that one arrow will accelerate. This arrow may pass
through other arrows as it moves.
"2x beat 2" : if any measure contains an arrow on beat 2 then just that one
arrow will be on 2x.
"2x beats 1&3": same as above, but includes beats 1 and 3 instead of 2.
"2x beats 2&4": same as above, but uses beats 2 and 4 instead.
== ORDER ==
There are exactly 24 ways to order "LDUR". Of these, DMM only uses three: RDUL,
RUDL, and LUDR. These three orders are easy to defeat by flipping your pad
over, rotating your pad 180 degrees, and doing both. Previous games featured
evil orders such as LRDU. I'm a little surprised they passed up the chance to
bring back the infamous DDR Extreme M98 combination: LRDU + hidden + sudden.
(But they did bring back "clear a song with a score of 0" for Request Mode.)
[Ch05] <- 5. Walkthrough Part 1: Unlocking Songs for Simple Completion ->
== [05.01] The Starting Dancers ==
There are six starting dancers, and they're separated in three consecutive
pairs: Bonnie + Emi, Yuni + Rage, and Zero + Babylon. Each of these three pairs
has one easy couples mission that will unlock a large movement die. I'm going
to guide each group independently. I stress that these three groups are
independent. Do not follow these instructions in a linear order. Just let the
dice decide who goes next. However, you do want all three groups to finish at
about the same time. If for example Babylon is done, but Yuni isn't, then swap
the Babylon die for the second Yuni die that you will unlock. And so on. When
all three groups have completed their objectives proceed to the Intermediate
Dancers section.
EMI + BONNIE OBJECTIVES:
1. Emi does [Em15] for a 2# die! Equip this immediately.
1. Emi does [Em14], [Em13], [Em11] to reach lv 2.
1. Bonnie does [Bo05] for a 1# die! Equip this immediately.
1. Bonnie does [Bo04], [Bo06], [Bo07], [Bo11] to reach lv 2.
2. Emi does [Em03] for Dynamite Rave, [Em07], [Em08], [Em05] to reach lv 3.
2. Bonnie does [Bo14] for Chance and Dice, [Bo16], and either [Bo10] or [Bo08]
3. Bonnie and Emi partner to clear [Em9] for a 9# die!
4. Emi can retire. Circle [Em12] on your map and mark it as impossible.

3. Yuni and Rage partner to clear [Yu14] for an 8# die!
3. SAVE OFTEN. Save your game every time you read this sentence.
4. Yuni can retire.
4. Rage does [Ra08] for Zero (the song), then [Ra13] for Alice (the person.)
ZERO + BABYLON OBJECTIVES:
1. Zero does [Ze04], [Ze09], [Ze07] for What Will Come of Me.
1. Babylon does [Ba16] for a 2# die! You may want to equip this.
1. Babylon does [Ba15], [Ba13], [Ba11], [Ba09] for Crazy Control.
2. Zero does [Ze10], [Ze11], [Ze12], [Ze15], [Ze16], and retires.
2. Babylon does [Ba08], [Ba07], [Ba06], [Ba04] for both La libertad and lv 4.
3. Babylon does [Ba14] to unlock Gus.
== [05.02] The Intermediate Dancers ==
This section will be similar to the previous section. This time there will be
four ordered lists to complete: Gus, Jenny, "Alice", and Ruby. However, you
don't have any Jenny dice yet! Gus will need to unlock Jenny. Equip Jenny's die
as soon as you can. You'll still want to finish all four lists at the same time
and Jenny will start behind the others.
Alice was ruined in DMM. She has no songs to unlock due to a bug, no good
missions to partner on early on, and there's no reason to ever use her. Which
is too bad because she's my favorite character. Oh well. Instead, Rage is
going to level from 4 to 6 and do [Al15] to unlock Queen-Zukin.
Equip your character die with as much Gus, Jenny, Rage, and Ruby as you can. If
you have a 6th space, stick Yuni there until you unlock another face. Yuni can
unlock another Ruby die at [Yu13] but you shouldn't need/want to.
Equip your first movement die as close to 1-1-1-1-2-2 as you can. Equip your
second movement die with your largest numbers. You'll use only these two dice
for the rest of this chapter with minor upgrades.
GUS OBJECTIVES:
1. Do [Gu16] for a 1# die!
2. Do [Gu14], [Gu12], [Gu9] until he reaches lv 4.
3. As soon as Gus hits lv 4 do [Gu15] to unlock Jenny.
4. Do [Je08], [Gu11], [Gu01], [Gu04]. Circle [Gu05] on your map as impossible.
5. Sadly, go repeat any lv 4 mission to reach lv 6.
6. Do [Gu08] to unlock Julio.
7. Go retire on [Je13] and wait for Jenny to arrive.
RUBY OBJECTIVES:
1. Do [Ru13], [Ru14] for a 2#, [Ru15]. She should reach lv 4.
2. Do [Ru10], [Ru04], [Ru01]. Hopefully she reaches lv 5.
3. Do [Ru02], [Ru09]
3. SAVE OFTEN
4. Do [Ru12] for La Receta. [Ru12] is a hard but fair mission.
5. Level up to 6, if necessary, then do [Ru08] for Disco and retire.
JENNY OBJECTIVES:
1. Do [Je15], [Je16], [Je11], [Je12], [Je07]
2. Do [Je09] for Love Again
3. Do [Je03], [Je06], [Je05]
4. Collaborate with Gus for [Je13]. The 10# will help greatly soon.
5. Do [Je01] for Julio. Do whatever it takes to hit lv 8 if Jenny isn't yet.
6. Do [Je14] for AM-3P -chaos special- and retire. You may have Zukin do this.
RAGE (ALICE) OBJECTIVES:
1. Do [Al05], [Al06], [Al16].
2. Zero should run up and do [Al03] or [Al04] if he isn't 4th level.
3. Zero and Rage partner to clear [Al09] for a 9# die! Zero retires again.
4. Rage should clear [Al11] twice to level up to 6.
5. Rage should clear [Al15] and retire. [Al15] is a little mean.
== [05.03] The Advanced Dancers ==
There are four more checklists, like before. And just like before when you
didn't start with Jenny, this time you're not starting with Concento. Julio
will have to get to get it started for Concento.
Jenny had a late start on her large task list last time. But unlocking the new
chart for AM-3P requires a lv 8 female. If want, Zukin can go out of her way
to do this. Just add it as an extra step after she retires.
JULIO OBJECTIVES:
1. Do [Ju06] for Blue Rain and [Ju07] for a Concento die. Equip that.
2. Do [Ju11], [Ju12] for Freeze, [Ju16] for a 1#, [Ju13] for a 2#.
3. Do [Ju10] for Ubertreffen, [Ju06] for a Julio die.
4. Run all the way to [Gu06] for Brilliant 2U -stream special-.
5. Save your game. It could easily crash soon.
5. Do [Ju01] and it would be nice if he reached level 8 or 9.
6. Optionally, do [Ju08] and/or [Ju04] to level Julio up. Level 9 is good.
ZUKIN OBJECTIVES:
1. Do [Zu15] for Keep On Movin, [Zu14] for This Night, [Zu12] for an 8#.
2. Do [Zu11] for You Are a Star.
3. Do [Zu05], [Zu03], [Zu04], [Zu01] for a 2#.
4. Rage may come down to visit [Zu07] for an extra Disco die. You want this.

5. Disco must hit lv 8. Do [Ru05] and/or [Co15] to finish up.
== [05.04] The Final Area ==
No checklists here. Your first priority is to level the advanced dancers up to
9 and 10. Refer to the missions [Ex09], [Ex05], [Ex10], and [Ex12]. Zukin's
final mission [Ex09] will unlock Kimono*Princess. Pick one of these 4 four
missions that you can do reliably and prepare to play it 5 or 6 times. But
first, unretire everyone, wake up Alice, and move everyone onto that tile.
Personally, I used Concento's final mission and I shadowed a video to do it.
But in hindsight, Julio's final mission is easier. SAVE OFTEN.
Whoever was doing the level 9 mission will reach 10 in a hurry. Now look at
those four missions in the center: Ex 15-18. As soon as you can field a couple
that can do one of those missions, do it. And if you're comfortable with that
mission then move everyone over there and start powerleveling them that way.
[Ex06] belongs to Zero and [Ex14] belongs to Rage. As soon as they hit lv 9
they should break off, clear those missions, and return to the leveling party.
You'll unlock Pluto The First and Dance Dance Revolution (the song.)
Once everyone hits 10 then you're ready to do the final mission. Set aside 15
minutes for this task and _use a controller_. You cannot pause. When you win
you'll unlock six "any character" dice parts, but who cares? You're done!
[Ch06] <- 6. Walkthrough Part 2: Backtracking for 100% Completion ->
I said you were done. Don't do this. You can't do it. You'll regret it.
Now that I'm done encouraging you, it's time to fix your dice for good. You
already have a perfect character die as your reward for beating the final
mission. Now it's time to fill the movement die with 6 wilds. These can be
found at: [Em01] (easy), [Gu13] (easy), [Al07] (easy), and [Ba05] (fair). Two
more can be found at [Ra16] and [Yu16], but those missions are impossible. If
you succeed in collecting all six wilds then you might have what it takes to
get 100% completion in this game.
With two dice full of wilds you can now move freely around the board doing
whatever you want. I hope you were keeping track of which missions you cleared
on your copy of my map. It's a major pain to scroll around in-game and look. I
made my map precisely because I found myself backtracking too often due to poor
planning and forgetting to do missions. If you got your ?# dice and you're
really serious about 100% completions then just sweep top to bottom, left to
right over the board.
I would like to point out a few more impossible missions:
* [Ba09] needs a FULL MARVELOUS COMBO. (97 steps)
* Jenny's final mission is the hardest in the game: FMC Ubertreffen basic.
* [Je10] requires 123/129 steps marvelous.
* [Ra11] Blue Rain BASIC CUT. Need 150/155 Marvelous. This is the kind of hell
you're in: a mod that makes almost any song trivial to FPC instead makes the
mission darn near impossible to complete. Failing with a FPC feels awesome.
* [Di11] is Sacred Oath basic, 1.5x. Need 100/107 marvelous. Because of 1.5x
this is more doable. I got 75, 82, 91, 91, 96. 93, 91, 85, 89, 87, 86, 94,
87, 83, 90, 90, 89, 93, 88, 92, 95, 93, 92, and bloodshot eyes. This was the
exact moment that I cracked and decided to mod the game to make it easier.
Those 5 missions, plus the ones I had you circle as you went along, are the
hardest in the game by far. The rest of the game is downhill after that. In a
future version of this guide I might suggest which general tips apply to which
missions. But for the most part you'll know if you want to spider a song,
shadow a video, or rewire your controller. Whatever you're comfortable with,
and whatever it takes.

COMMENTS : I like what they did with the final mission. Be sure to set aside
a solid 15 minutes to play this because you can't pause or take a
break.
[Ch08] <- 8. Bugs ->
#1 "Dynamite Rave -air special-" does not unlock for clearing [Al13]. Instead
you will unlock "Dynamite Rave" if you somehow have not unlocked it already.
This is a stupid and frustrating mistake by the developers. (I even got the
"Clear all missions" tile in request mode before I got the "Unlock all songs"
tile. Wonderful.)
#2 Gus and Bonnie only have 5 dice, not 6. [Je08] should definitely give you a
Gus die for beating it, but it does not. Because of this it is technically
possible for Emi to start by unlocking Jenny, who would then normally unlock
Gus, except she won't. You'll be able to walk around in Gus' area fine, but he
won't appear until you find a die for him elsewhere. I guess no one noticed
because Babylon unlocks Gus so easily. As for Bonnie, she's a starter, so her
sixth character die could've been intended to go anywhere. I'll take a guess
though and say that Bonnie's missing die should've been found in [Yu02].
#3 As I mentioned in [Ch03], SAVE OFTEN. Because DMM can crash while returning
from a song.
#4 If you fail a couples mission then the partner who was first to arrive will
receive 20% of 20% for being present instead of the full amount they're
entitled to. The partners should recieve the same amount of xp like they do
when they win.
