I) Intro:
A Few Words...
So, I have been a member of GameFAQ's for about 3 years now. I have only
contributed reviews and never really took the time to write an FAQ because
I figured there was a lot of people who could write one better than me.
I've been playing DDR for 4 years now, so I figured why not write one out
for the latest American release of SuperNova (which happens to be my favorite
American release now... it's a very solid title)
This FAQ is going to cover pretty much everything. I would appreciate
contributions as to how online play works because I do not have an online
adaptor nor do I plan on getting one. Until then, that section remains blank.

0.5 Welcome to the first version of this FAQ. It's pretty much skin and
bones right now, but I'm going to be fattening it up quickly!
0.8 Finished up Stellar Master Mode. Made noticeable improvements to
aesthetics.
II) Stellar Master Mode:
Welcome to Stellar Master Mode. As if the boss songs on this game aren't hard
enough, they're going to put you through a whole different level of difficulty
as well as patience. Some of the stuff in here is far to easy for advanced
players and therefore, they will be the ones to complain about it. But
anyway, here's a breakdown of the planets and their objectives:
The way this will be set up, the trials will be written out and under it the
difficulties and whether or not you can use mods. I will also explain how to
do it if it's not self explanatory.
Once you get all the VIP cards for the planet you're on, all the songs in the
songlist for that planet will be available for purchase in the Shop as well as
the respective PiX Dancer.
For the showdowns, you will be told to pass X out of Y trials. The trials are
chosen at random, and all of them are listed in this walkthrough.
Complete = Pass a song
Full Combo = Pass a song with only Marvelous, Greats or Perfects.
Score x amount of points = Get enough Marvelous and Perfect to get your score
higher than the bar set.
2) Complete 2 Songs with C or Better
Beginner and Basic; Mods ok
3) Score 7.5 Million points on 5 songs
Basic and Difficult only; NO mods
4) Complete 2 songs with PiX
Difficult Only; Mods OK
The only way to do this is by luck. If you don't see pix as your
background dancer, then just hit start to fail out and try again til
you get it. Note that background dancers do not show up in songs with
background videos i.e. Dance, Dance
5) Complete 5 Songs
Expert and Challenge; NO Mods
6) Get AAA
Any Difficulty; Mods ok
This is a hidden objective, it will appear on the list when you
complete it.
7) ? (Based on the patterns of how the trial screens are set up, I'm pretty

Multi Tasking:
The following trials can be completed simultaneously to minimize time:
1) Score 40 or more combining PERFECT and GREAT

you get the hang of it, it's not that bad.

a perfect to pass. Just tap your foot on the up panel continuously
with the beat. If you don't pay attention to what your EYES tell you
and just keep hitting with the beat, you'll hit the arrow perfect

Completely Luck Based. Quickest way to do this though is to wait til

in a row already and you save but then you get a female, just reload
your save data and it will be back at 2.

The easiest way to do this is to try to get as little perfects as
possible. Try and get goods as they do not affect your life bar and
yet do not add any points.
5) Turn on "SCROLL (REVERSE)" only in options and complete 3 songs
Basic, Difficult, Expert, Challenge; ONLY Reverse mod may be used
6) Complete 3 songs with A or better
Difficult, Expert, Challenge; NO mods
7) Complete with a final score that ends in 70
Any difficulty; Any mods.
This is bar none the most tedious challenge in the whole game. The
easiest way to do this is to select "Flow (True Style)" on Beginner
with JUMP OFF2. In the beginning you'll notice that the single digits
will raise up by 10 for a perfect or 5 for a great. Eventually, it'll
go up by one. The best way to explain it is get enough goods and
perfects to cycle it around to 5 again towards the very end of the
song. This will make it so either you'll finish with a 5 or 0 on the
ones digit. So now just cycle it around enough to get a 7 for the
10's digit. Remember that Goods raise your score by zero. This will
no doubt take a few tries. Good luck
8) Turn on "Speed 5x" ONLY in options and complete 5 songs.
Heavy and challenge only; ONLY 5x may be used.
Yet another tricky one. The only way to do this is to practice
reading at high speeds. It'd be to your benefit to sort the songs by
BPM and play the lowest speed songs. This challenge is fairly
difficult.
This drill is doing 8th note jacks 3 at a time. Fairly simple.

Although it doesn't say, this drill is to get you comfortable from
turning away from the screen. Use your left foot on up, right on
right, left on down, right on left, then you turn around and swing
your left foot on up. Once you put your right foot back on right,
you will have completed a full circle

Your best bet is to pick a song on basic. Using the controller, press
Triangle, Square, O and X at the same time on the beat of the music.
This challenge is actually the easiest one here using this tactic.
5) Complete with a final score that ends in 777
Basic, Difficult, Heavy, Challenge; Mods OK
Credit to DumbDanceR for this one. I got it on the first try this
way. Select "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (Ba)". Get a MISS on every
couple steps. Be sure that for every great you get, you get another
one. Watch your score towards the end of the song. If you did this
right, eventually your score will reach 77777777. Stop playing at
this point. If you have to, get GOODs to keep your life bar afloat,
but be warned that a perfect or great will mess it up. If you did
this all right, you'll finish with a final score of 77777777.

Basic, Difficult, Expert, Challenge; NO mods
Good luck with this, I'm still working on it.
7) Complete 3 consecutive songs with PiX in the same color outfit
Any difficulty, any mods
Completely Luck Based. Quickest way to do this though is to wait til
you get a color PiX, save the game and then play another song.
If you don't the same color PiX, reload the data and your
count will still be there. So basically if you had 2 same color PiX
in a row already and you save but then you get a different one
just reload your save data and it will be back at 2.
8) Turn on "SPEED (x8)" and "BOOST (ON)" ONLY in options and complete 3 songs
Basic, Difficult, Expert, Challenge; ONLY 8x and BOOST ok

briefly in the middle of the screen.

Just stay calm and don't panic, and this objective isn't too bad.

Here's where the real fun in the game is! If you're like me and you
think you can make steps better than Konami did, then here's where you go to
prove it. I'll go into more detail on this section in a later update.

VIII) Options
-Sound Options
Sound: Stereo - used for stereo sound
Mono - used for monaural sound
Dolby Pro Logic II - Used for Dolby sound
Voice: All - the announcer and crowd talks
No Booing - no negative comments from announcer or
crowd
Off - No announcer or crowd.
Timing Use this to adjust the offset for when the
arrows reach the top. For previous mixes, adjusting
this was crucial for better scores, but SuperNova does
not seem to have that problem.
-Controller Settings
Double Mode Settings: Use to play doubles with one controller
Dance Play Settings: >>>>THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!<<<< If
you are using a pad be sure to change this to off! What this
setting does is disable the corner squares so you don't
accidentally have your foot on the X button but go to hit down
and find it doesn't register.

Load
AutoSave: Be sure to use this with care. Wait about 5
seconds after the game says it's finished saving.
Previous mixes would have a problem with data erasure from
turning off the console too early
Edit Folder Load: Loads your edit folder on startup.
-Game Options
Game Level: This affects how harshly your life bar is judged.
The higher it is, the more effect a misstep
will have on your life bar
Game Over: Arcade - If you fail, it ends immediately
End Of Music - If you fail, it will tell you
at the end of the song.
Max Stage: Set the number of Maximum stages from 1-5
Extra Stage: The event mode setting is always on in this
game. Regardless of whether you fail or finish the extra
stage, it will bring you back to the song wheel. If you don't
want the extra stage (where you're forced to play 1.5x
Reverse, No Recover) then turn this off.
-Graphic Options
Dancer Display: Turns the background dancers on and off
Movie: Turns background movies on and off (only certain songs)
BG Brightness: Adjust brightness of the backgrounds
Default arrow: Choose from your default arrow skin without
having to go and change it in the options menu in game.
There's Vivid, Note, Rainbow, and Flat
Display Marvelous: You'd be doing yourself a disservice
by having this off. This allows marvelous timing in game as
opposed to only on courses
