4.) Retrospect (RTSP)
OOO!!! Look at me, in my little Geo, going down the highway at 10 Miles Per
Hour, letting people cut in front of me...
No.
Burnout 2 is a fast racing game using some serious speedsters. Burnout 2
doesn't use real cars, but who cares? Who's gonna notice your car when you're
flying by? Speaking of that, better wear your seat belts! Why? This is also the
game with the ultimate crashes? Now, go bend some concrete, and some
sheetmetal!
Okay, this game is better than the first. It's harder to beat, which is a plus
for me. Now, remember, it's not the racing that makes the game distinct from
other racing games like Ridge Racer and Need for Speed. It's the crashes. So,
Let's play burnout 2!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.) Controls (CTRL)
Here are the controls.

A- Acceleration
B- Brake
L- Honk horn (For obnoxiousness)/toggle siren (cop car)
R- Speed Boost when Burnout Meter is filled
Z- Glance Back

R1- Speed Boost when Burnout Meter is filled
L1- Glance Back
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.) Burn Meter (BNMT)
What's the burn meter at the bottom of the screen? Let's discuss it.
The burn meter is a booster, when filled up it can rocket you to, sometimes,
your top speed.
Besides that, the burn meter makes it easier to drift.
To fill the burn meter...
Drift around corners
Drive in the wrong direction
Get your car in the air
Almost hit a car
Finish a lap without crashing
Here are some more tidbits to know about the burn meter.
*When you are using the burn meter, anything you do to fill the burn meter will
be put to use after the burn is done. For example, you are using a burn and
driving in the wrong direction. When the burn is over, the bar is almost full.
And yes, you can fill the burn meter in the same instance.
*If you have some of your burn meter full, and you crash, what you had in the
meter will be cut in half.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7.) Crash Mode (CRSH)
Here are the levels in Crash Mode.
15 Levels total.
Basic Tips
==========
Aim for the wheels of a semi or a bus.
Try to block the road.
Get as many cars involved in the accident as you can.
From the time you hit the car, you have ten seconds for something else to
happen, or the crash is over.
Just because you miss a semi doesn't mean you can't get gold.
Flip something. It gets you lots of points.
Recommended Cars
================
(in order, bottom being the best)
SUV
Pickup
Cop Car
Oval Racer
Japanese Muscle
Custom SUV
Supercar
Custom Pickup
Level 1: Downhill Demolition
Rush down the hill and cause as much damage as you can!
Bronze: 500,000
Silver: 1,000,000
Gold: 2,000,000
For this one, hit the bus that's going from left to right. It's the one with
the taxi next to it. What should happen is that the hit semi should almost
fall over, but block the road. Then, other semi's get involved, but never touch
the initially hit semi. After that, a car should stop, and then another should
rear end that car, and then another should do the same, and then another.
Level 2: Coastal Crush
Cause havoc on this coastal crossroads!
Bronze: 3,000,000
Silver: 5,000,000
Gold: 10,000,000
Hit the log truck going from left to right. There is another log truck running
beside it. What should happen is that the log truck you hit should slam into
the one riding along side, and block the road, letting all kinds of big
vehicles get in on the crash.
Level 3: Out of Control Tower
Get airborne and hit as many buses as possible!
Bronze: 10,000,000
Silver: 20,000,000
Gold: 35,000,000
This one is hard. After you take off, make sure you don't hit the trucks. After
that, then hit the first car on the right. What this should do is send the car
into a bus exiting the exit, then sslam into another bus. You should be flying
into the semis ahead. Now, the next bus coming out of the exit will slam on
the brakes and hit another bus, then another bus will come and rear end that
bus, then another rear ending that bus. Then, a taxi should come and hit a bus.
Level 4: Pacific Peril
Go left or right, the choice is yours!
Bronze: 1,000,000
Silver: 3,000,000
Gold: 5,000,000
Go left and hit the grey van coming head on at you. What should happen is that
the van should create a small accident, but you should fly out into the
intersection and make another accident there.
Level 5: Rattlesnake Row
Hit the cross traffic for desert demolition!
Bronze: 10,000,000
Silver: 20,000,000
Gold: 30,000,000
You need the Supercar for this. HIt the semi going from left to right in the
back end. What should happen is you should go flying into the bus, flipping it
over. Then, the semi you hit should block the road, and all the busses and
stuff should hit the semi. The rest of the road should be blocked by the buses
coming by.
Level 6: Dip Disaster
Multi lane mayhem on the frantic freeway!
Bronze: 3,000,000
Silver: 7,000,000
Gold: 15,000,000
Go into the oncoming lane, and hit the first car you see. What should happen
is that you should fling into another truck, which will completely block the
oncoming lane. Then, a bunch of semis and buses should come and, well, you
know the rest.
Level 7: Sandstorm Shredder
Whip up a storm of metal and glass!
Bronze: 5,000,000
Silver: 10,000,000
Gold: 17,000,000
Drift through the turn and hit the first oncoming semi you see. What should
happen is the semi should completely block the oncoming lanes, and a bunch of
semis and crap should hit the first one like crap.
Level 8: Ridge Riot
Round the corner for a snow-capped smash!
Bronze: 1,500,000
Silver: 3,000,000
Gold: 5,000,000
After the corner, hit the first car you see in the oncoming lane. What should
happen is that a bunch of cars behind it should pile up, and then a semi and a
bus should join the action, too.
Level 9: Freeway Fury
It's hell on the highway!
Bronze: 10,000,000
Silver: 15,000,000
Gold: 25,000,000
Use the custom pickup for this. This is going to be hard as crap, but miss the
first bunch of cars going the right way. You should then run into a second
bunch. When you do, pass the first taxi and swerve left, and then tick the
rear end of the demi, and hit the front end of the bus. What should happen is
that they block that whole lane, resulting in loads of cars ramming the semi
and the bus you hit.
Level 10: Avalanche
Go over the edge on this maniac mountain!
Bronze: 1,500,000
Silver: 3,000,000
Gold: 6,000,000
Take the turn and hit the first car in the oncoming lane. What should happen is
that a couple semis, buses, and cars should rear end the first one, resulting
in something looking like a line.
Level 11: Late Arrival
Think fast to cause havoc on this high-speed ring!
Bronze: 4,000,000
Silver: 7,000,000
Gold: 10,000,000
Skip the first seven cars you see and hit the taxi in the middle lane head on.
What should happen is you should go flying into the red car in the left lane,
which the semis are right behind. Then, all those semis should smash eachother.
Level 12: Glass Canyon
Run the gauntlet and cause downtown devastation!
Bronze: 10,000,000
Silver: 17,000,000
Gold: 23,000,000
Use the supercar. Take the turn. See the first intersection? Pass it. Then, go
into the oncoming lane and go between the car in the middle and the car on the
right. What should happen is you should hit a little car and you should go
flying. What happens next I don't know because the stupid game kept the camera
on my car, which was far away from the accident.
Level 13: Hairpin Havoc
Drift dangerously to cause a precision pile-up!
Bronze: 8,000,000
Silver: 15,000,000
Gold: 20,000,000
Drift the corner and stay to the far left. Pass the first two cars and slam
into the first bus. What shoulld happen is the bus you hit should then smash
into the other bus. Then, a bunch of other cars will join the action.
Level 14: Dam Buster
Burn across the dam for a date with destruction!
Bronze: 3,500,000
Silver: 7,000,000
Gold: 10,000,000
Stay to the right. Once you see the first truck going the right way, pass it.
After the pass, swerve into the semi in the oncoming lane. What should happen
is that the semi should completely block that lane, and your flying car will
stop another unlucky visitor and start an accident there.
Level 15: Ballistic Beach
Slam into this beachside T-junction for maximum mayhem!
Bronze: 8,000,000
Silver: 14,000,000
Gold: 17,000,000
During the turn, go into the parking lot on the left side. Pass the car and the
first semi. Then swerve and hit the second semi. What should happen is that all
of thecars coming from the exit there should slam into the semi. The major one
is that the bus gets hit with many vehicles, though. If you flip it over, then
it's pretty much a guaranteed gold.

9.) Championship (CHMP)
Here is the championship.
Before entering this, let's discuss each race.
GRAND PRIX
==========
A series of races. First place in a Grand Prix earns 3 points, second earns
two, third earns one, and fourth earns zero. You cannot restart a certain race
in a tournament. If you need to restart, then you have to go all the way back
to the beginning.
FACE OFF
========
A race where you race a complete new car you haven't seen before. A win in this
gives you the car you raced. You can only race these races if you get all golds
in the tournament previous.
PURSUIT
=======
The goal is to smash other cars into bits and stop them (Sweet!). Like
face off mode, you race a new car, and you win the car if you succeed in
stopping the car.

11.) Want To Make A
FAQ? (CNTE)
This section is purely for people who want to make more out of Gamefaqs
by contributing. This may not be the same for all sites, mainly for
Gamefaqs.
First, go to notepad, under accessories in the start menu. This is
given to Microsoft users, so if you don't have it, you can always
download one. Once you have Notepad up and running, make your FAQ.
I suggest some ASCII art (art with the text) to brighten up your FAQ.
Once you've typed it, save it.
If you're registered to Gamefaqs, all you need to do is login. To
register yourself, at the upper left hand corner, there should
be a login box. Click sign me up. Then, give them your info, and you
should be in!
Once registered, click contribute at the top of the page. A page titled
Contributor Central should come up. Scroll down and click submit a
file. Then, type in the game, and the system it's for. A list of games
should come up. Click the one you want, and then another page should
come up. Type in the title of the FAQ, the version, ect. Uploading the
file is confusing, though. What you have to do is go into your files,
Double click the title you saved your FAQ under, and click load. Give
CJayC (the runner of this site) any additional side notes, then upload
the file. It's in!
Problems that might occur...
1.) YOu may have a problem logging in.
2.) The way you typed it (format) may not be so good.
To see if your FAQ got accepted, go to Contributor central, and click
contribution status. If it's rejected, add some more info and try
again.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12.) Interactive (INTR)
Alright, this is the interactive section. What does that mean? It means
you can show off the most gold medals you have, the most powerful car you have,
the most cars you have available, ect. You will get all credit, but if someone
sends in a better record than yours, then yours will be replaced with
the better record. To destroy his record, just comply with the
guidelines and beat your opponent. (F.E. You put the Muscle. Someone
E-mails me that he has The oval Racer. You have to get a more powerful car than
him, or you lose the spot. You may E-mail me to ask if the record is better or
not)
My E-mail address is
[email protected]. And, title the E-mail
Burnout 2 Record, so I know what it is. Oh, and don't say you did
something when you really didn't. That's just weak and cheap.
If you have the same record as somebody else, they got there first and,
not to be rude, I won't post yours. Sorry!
Also, I am an active partaker in this, so I might be the one to beat
your records.
